  1. Hmm- this is NICE!

It smells like a toasted vanilla- sweet but with some bitter spices far beneath it. It certainly adds a nice dimension. It almost reminds me of genmaicha tea which is made with toasted rice. This is really lovely and doesn't change on me much though it is a shame there isn't more throw. It might work well as a lotion so I will have to experiment. I do envision wearing this a lot in the winter when I crave something sweet and warm.

  2. Happiness is pink strawberry bubble gum...

This is fast becoming my favorite bpal. It's soothing yet girly and has enough throw to satisy me without getting on the nerves of the bf. In fact he likes it! I can't tell you how many days I was sitting at work sighing wishing I had put on this scent instead of the one I was wearing.

In the bottle: A sticky wad of A.B.C. (yes already been chewed. Sorry for the visual but I see it as a moist scent).

Wet: It sweetens up in a cloud of rainbows raining fruity pebbles and deepens to become a lovely strawberry juice scent. I still get the bubblegum but it has toned down.

Dry: Much of the same but with a little less throw. I get an after-waft of something herbal.

Yes so happy I tracked down a bottle of this. After testing various imps I find the older ones become stronger and sharper as they age but both work for me.

This is my replacement for Strawberry moon which did not work on my skin. It's a sweet pink juicy scent and I lurves it

  3. Honestly- this is EXACTLY as the description says. I mean, I did not expect to smell of banana cream pie, grease and blood but...I do and its delicious

It's very sweet when first applied and light, just like a banana smoothie. After a few minutes I can swear I smell the graham cracker crust. Then after awhile, it dries down to sweet, savory greasy, banana with a tinge of blood. It doesn't have much throw though, sadly.

I put it in my locket for that initial fresh banana burst.

    Awesome, fun and yummy blend!

  4. I LOVE this scent and it is one of my top ten. I'd always thought this would be too heavy and incensy but it was surprisingly light and sweet. I found it by accident when I tried it on the boy and he complained it was too 'girly' on him.

I agree that it almost has a honey note from the resin and the citrus. The only problem is it's quite moody with my chemistry. One day I'll put it on and get all powder the next it will be all sweet and lovely. It's actually quite a sexy scent on me and the bf always seems to erm respond when I wear it ;)

I think I've really grown to love myrrh and am now seeking out blends with that note.

Overall this is a very interesting blend that makes me feel mysterious and beautiful. LOVE IT!

  5. This is nice. Not spectacular on my skin but pleasant.

In the bottle it's kind of a sweet, wet, herbal strawberry. (The bf said bubblegum and I guess I could see a low-sugar bubblegum because it wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be.)

Wet it starts to get nicer and a little sweeter but the sap starts emerging making this turn somewhat green.

Dry I get wafts of dry strawberries and the stemmy note.

After about an hour it turned to plastic :cry2:

Ah well, I'll stick with White Choc strawberry and maenad I suppose.

  6. I've just tried Dorian and Morocco and I have to say :thud:

I think my perfect vanilla search ends here lol. Lovely, warm, sweet vanilla! From both! Although with Dorian it's more lemony vanilla cake and morocco is more straight vanilla. Van Van of course is lovely too. Smells much like Krhysee on me. A tobacco, smoky vanilla.

Very happy with GC's lately :)

  7. oooo. So THIS is what everyone's been talking about. I don't have much luck with the 'popular' scents but this one is DELICIOUS.

On me it's all lemon cake. I don't know why but it is. A perfect slice of lemon cake with vanilla frosting. I smell only a hint of musk. Great lasting time and perfect amount of throw. And it doesn't turn bad or fade on me! So happy with this one. If only I could slather it on the boy. His chemistry tends to turn scents femanine but its worth a try.

Truly lovely scent and will join my rainy day collection with Annubis and Jezebel.

  8. ...this is why I love Bpal.

I got this for my bf since he likes tigers but alas he hated it- and I loved it!

Vetiver and I normally do NOT get along. I think the only blend I've liked with vetiver in so far was blood kiss and that's because it's quite buried under the other notes. It always seems to amp on me and overpower everything else. So smelling the lovely orange scent on his skin, I dabbed a little on myself. At first it was all vetiver with some nice orange. Then a strange thing happened, the vetiver began to FADE.

So the orange and a warmth from the amber and teak were left with only a after-smell of vetiver remained. I actually quite like it! It's a golden, spicy, woodsy orange! Not enough to track down a bottle but I will hold on to my imp :D

  9. Oohh! What a lovely asian ghostie you are!

In the bottle: Yummy blood orange. I'm not sure but I think this is the first blend I've tried with this note. It's certainly unmistakably orange. It really conjures the image from the label but I think her face is smeared with orange jam instead of blood. ^_^

Wet: Orange takes the front followed by the lily. I think I can smell the shincha and a hint of pale eucalyptus but it just adds a hint of brightness and never really announces itself dominantly. Something spicy is starting to show up and I'm not quite sure what that is...

Dry: NOOOOOOOO!!!! My beautiful orange-nomming ghost has been re-buried in a sandalwood grave! :cry2:

I'm not sure why sandalwood does this on my skin but it goes waaay powdery. I'm NOT giving up on this though. J- horror is my favorite genre and this is a GORGEOUS scent on me while it lasts and the throw is phenominal until the late dry down. The bf said the whole house smelled of it but he really likes the scent on me (though he tells me I overapply but that's for another post). I'm going to chalk it up to the hot weather and try it on again tonight after my shower and try to conjure her back ;)

ETA: Later that night the weather cooled and I could smell the lovely orange, lily, sandlewood sweetness wafting around me for hours. This might take velvet clown's place as my night time oil- LOVE THIS!!!!

  10. I gleefully found 2 bottles and an decant of velvet clown on the forum. One was a partial, one was full and the decant was full. The imp was a cloud of SWEET cotton candy and greasepaint (my favorite!), the partial was more smoky red licorice and the full bottle was less sweet and mostly peanuts.

At first I was really bummed about the full bottle but I definately think the amount of time an oil is exposed to oxygen can sometimes change it. I find the more I test/use bottles that I care little for, the more the scent smoothes out with time and aging. Sometimes for the better, others for the worst (eyes the sake in lantern ghost of oiwa.)

  11. Oh man, the reviewer above was right on when saying this is like Lucky Charms! I was totally going to say this was magically delicious (it's ok because I still got to say it anyway :))

Really though- this is another great Velvet scent. I'm sure my excess of hormones is sort of making this a little strange because when I tried it on yesterday it was alot different.

    Anyhoo onto the review.

In the bottle: Alot of cherry. Seems like a cherry liquor but I pick up the custard as well.

Wet: Sweet cherry and strawberry sugar. LOVE this stage!

Dry: Well today, it's going stangely heavy on the meringue and I'm getting a coconut note which are blending together to make the custard note in 'Drink Me'. :( But it's still very pink and sweet.

I'm thinking it's just my time-of-the-month hormones messing with the scent and making the strange custardy coconut scent. Yesterday I was getting much more fruit and less custard. I'll try to add to this next week :)

  12. Hmm. This is interesting- most interesting.

    wet: Very bitter, earthy dust.

Dry: Powdery, floral dust. Something in this makes me feel sick. It's the same way I feel when I wear lavender. :ack:

I'll try it again when my hormones are more stable but sadly, although I love the idea, this is probably not a keeper :(

  13. I'm waiting for the show to start with a cherry lolipop in one hand and one of those sparkly things in the other. Only, I'm not ten, I'm twenty-three, with a bottle of rum beside me. The smoke starts filling the stage and a shape appears. A creepy ass clown, eyeing my bottle approaches and leans over, his brightly smudged face smelling of grease paint and peanuts. He takes the bottle, downs it, muttering a 'thanks kid' then starts to juggle.

Hehe, no I didn't have a bad clown experience as a kid, why do you ask?

In all seriousness-This is one delicious clown :yum: This is mostly cherry on me then turns into a nice smooth, sweet greasy paint (in a good way!) scent. The throw is moderate and I wish there were more but it is slather worthy! :wub2:

  14. This smelled like Pipe smoke. Yup, sweet vanilla pipesmoke. Just a tad similar to snake oil (aged) on me. *sigh* Well, I suppose it could be worse. I'll keep it around for it's luck bringing purpose. :)

ETA: Ok wow- I tried this on again out of emotional desperation upon getting my period and I have to say I felt alot better after putting it on PLUS the smell has actually *improved*. I might just have to get a 5 ml of this to use every day during my cycle! :wub2:

  15. This was one of the first bpal's I tried and loved.

Wet- JUICY macintosh apple. Soooo yum!

Dry- Apple powder that is *poof* gone.

This scent is beautiful. I love the snow white reference (really caught my eye when I first searched bpal's website) and also the apple didn't have that fakey chemical tinge that alot of other apple-inspired scents have. It's a freshly picked apple. I don't get any of the other notes because my chemistry destroys them, leaving only pure apple for a few seconds before saying "adieu".

For a long time I neglected this scent because I thought I'd never be able to wear it with my skin devouring it the way it does. But when I tried it in my scent locket I was pleasantly surprised: This baby *amps* the yummy wet stage like crazy. I wore it in my clocket and everyone kept saying they smelled apples. =^.^=

  16. I was quite worried that this wouldn't work on me because of the ash but I tend to like apple so I thought it would be worth a try.

    In the imp: strange chemicals

Wet: Apple pops out from under the heavy ash to say 'hai'.

Dry: A warm, seductive smoky apple. I almost detect a tinge of spice, sort of like the mulled spices in cider.

I really love this! I consider it sexy yet wearable. This evokes images of fall with dusty, dry leaves and apple cider for me more than a fruity summer perfume but I will probably wear it all year long. I layer this with poisoned apple to make it brighter during the day and I think my skin chemistry must love apple notes (except for Agape- that was the curdled, curried milk of death on me). Unfortunately it eats them though so this will be a frequent reapplication.

It's a very light scent-don't be afraid to try it!

  17. The first thing I noticed about this was how 'clean' it smelled. It was very sweet and strong and rather like air freshener but in a good way. Sadly, this did not agree with my chemistry :cry2:

It turned into cologne (men's cologne!) then disappeared. Waaaa!

ETA: A week later I tried this and it was actually kind of nice- this might be a skin chemistry sensitive scent. It's still clean and musky but not as sharp now. I'll keep my imp :)

  18. Ahhh. Excuse me while I die of a scentgasm.

This is beautiful. When I first dabbed some on, it smelled of almonds and a slightly plastic note.

After a few moments I got a generic lotion scent-sort of like jergans.

But after about five minutes, whoa. The husky, warm honey mixes with soft, velvety flowers and gets super sexy. Not sexy as in "you're so hot I wanna get in your pants" but a maternal sexy- like a young mother who is glowing, natural in her own skin, and very confident and strong.

For a good hour this lasts very well on my skin but after that becomes powdery death. LUCKILY I has a locket (with one more on the way!) and I've found that inside it is gorgeous and has tremendous throw.

SO glad I tracked down this bottle from the forum!

Flower haters take note- this is definately not your grandma's floral!

  19. Wow- this is just beyond incredible. I was a little skeptical that an oil could change someone so much but Glamour definately had some effect!

The first time I wore it, I didn't say anything to the hapless victim bf, I just sat next to him and we talked while on the computer. All night long he was telling me how much he loved me  (this is a guy of few emotional words, especially of the "L" word), and stroking my hair (not sure why but everytime I wear this he does that to me). Then I got the uh, er, affect I was after with not so much as a "I'm tired" ;) That is impressive from a guy who works as much (and has as much mental clutter) as he does.

The second time I wore Glamour he kept saying how pretty I was and did the same affectionate gestures. I was pretty cranky that night but it seemed like no matter what I did he was affectionate and loving the whole time we were out. BUT late into the night, after the desired effect took place, it seemed to wear off and in fact we got into a big argument. I'm wondering if it's the wear time of the oil or if it only works until you get the desired effect? In any case this is a balm to my relationship that has much tension do to a clash of careers, ideas etc. I almost feel bad using it because it works so well- I don't want to do something against his will. But really I don't think it puts a "spell" on him I think it just opens up his emotions to freely express the feelings he already has.

But if anyone is questioning if this works, believe me, it does! I will be getting a 5ml of this for sure.

As far as the fragrance goes I cant really say because I only use a VERY small dab on my neck. It seems a little sweet and rosy with some herbally smelling componant.

  20. I was kindly frimped with this by BloodyDutchess (thank you!!!)

This is an interesting scent! Very herbal and 'cool' I can see how appropriate the name is. On my skin it warms up and there's a strange sort of rotting scent (glares at rose) underneath the herbal. Over time the rotting note begins to disappear and I get some sweetness.

I added just a tiny bit of Aunt Caroline's Joy mojo to sweeten it up and am happy with the results.

Mainly I'll keep this for the healing properties which do seem to have a calming effect on me. I'll experiment in my hair and in my locket. I'm very glad I have the frimp and may even get a bottle!
