    Evolution in rant form

I hear you. I have been on the forum a long time too. Probably since the first day it opened. I was under another user name at the time though and the email I used for the account was compromised. That has nothing to do with anything though. You're right, it has changed and not really the kind of changes I like to see...but I've been in enough forums to see that just happens after a time. The people come and go and the essence of the place starts to reflect those changes. I mean I still post, but I too like it better on the blogs. I prefer the authenticity over this way.

    Garden at the one-month mark.

Holy moley! Are those tomatoes HANGING? You can do that? Oh...I have so much to learn...

    Summer wonders

There were no fireflies in FL. At least not the part that I lived in. It's almost like I had completely forgotten what magic&miracles looked like until I moved back north. If I was gauging summer by fireflies and not heat though, I would have to say it's not yet summer even though it's been almost 90. Not a lightening bug in sight! (Lucky you )

    Hah!

You're not a cheapskate at all, I think that's incredible that you are able to put together an event like this and not break the bank. My mind boggles when I think of all the freakin money that gets spent on weddings. I notice you didn't mention "pictures at no cost" - regardless, I hope we get to see some anyway!

    This week's garden update

This is so inspiring! I have some things planted - peppers, rosemary in pots, and a whole mess of herbs in a sandbox...but I always just thought gardens HAD to be planted in the ground. Now that I see how you are going about it and how well everything does, I am just going to totally fill my porch up

    Birdy-Birdy and Karma

Oh my goodness. I love animal stories like this, and yes I would totally believe that was birdy-birdy. Dogs know things like this! Goodness, goodness, all weepy now. But the good kind

    Rinky-DINK

Ha, so I guess that makes me a SINK ? (The Man doesn't count, all his income is spoken for. By THOSE PEOPLE) Well. That is a bit of a downer. It is hard to want what is best for someone you love while it may be in direct conflict with something you want desperately. I too am curious as to what his reasons might be for putting off the job search. Is he afraid "they" will catch wind of it and let him go before the alotted time? I am sure you would feel more relieved if he has some prospects on the horizon; then this would not seem so traumatising!

I Survived the Kabul Riots of '06 part 2

Reading things like this makes me realise how inane I must sound dinking on and on about my life and "problems". I too am very, very glad you are safe

    ID & package theft

Oh my goodness! How awful! I don't have a credit card per se (just my debit w/a Visa logo which is linked to my bank account) but I never even read that! I just check it online a few times a week and that's it. OK! I am definitely being more diligent now!

    Your fave romantic movie?

This is going to sound strange, but my absolute favouritest romantic movie/love story is Secretary. It struck such a chord in me on levels I could not even explain. So I don't really know that I could tell you why. But, there you go.

    Vegas!

Wow! I have never been to Vegas (never much wanted to, either, not big on gambling) but goodness. I think you have changed my mind! So much to do, and hell...who could turn down a huge buffet??

    Cat-Eye View

Awww. Man, what a sap I am. That actually brought tears to my eyes. Poor babies, what trauma! Give them time, they'll adjust (but you already know that don't you?) "Xena had saved up her displeasure to generate one particularly foul poop that filled that metal box with the smell of her indignation." I read that as "...the smell of her indigestion" Hee!

Weird sayings and The Prophet Raoul

I always just say "fudge!" just like Ralphie. Except well, as we all know, he didn't exactly say "fudge". You know, I tried to read A Confederacy of Dunces. But. It really just depressed the fudge out of me.

    Been readin' the wank.

My goodness gracious. Thanks for the link, I only had to skim to get the general idea. Not going to get high-horsey soap boxy because I can be as mean as the next person...but only in my head.

    Satiate

I myself have always been partial to "dubious", or "nefarious", or "perfidious". hmmm...that just speaks VOLUMES about me, doesn't it??

    Been readin' the wank.

lj bpal wank thread? What is this all about? Don't get me wrong, I am not all about spreading the hate...but you know...train wrecks...rubbernecking and all

    Floored

I meant to also say that it is quite pretty. I think I am turning into one of those folks who speak too soon and too much and still never manage to convey the original intent. Sorry! I meant...pretty ....AND hypnotizing!

    Floored

That reminds me of one of those weird 3-D paintings from the mid-90s. You'll be peeing and be all like "holy crap, that's a sail boat!"

    Steal of a deal

OMG! CUSTO BARCELONA! $7!!! I normally do not go for expensive labels and I eschew spending more than $20 on a shirt for the most part...but Custo is one of my big splurges! ( I usually buy 'em on ebay for cheap, but still...) Their designs are just so crazy looking, aren't they?

    Technicolor Dreamhouse Part Two

2 things : The bruschetta looks delicious and OMG DON'T YOU DARE CHANGE THE PUKE GREEN! Seriously...maybe it looks different in person, but from the photos it is incredible!

    I Wrote A Good Omelet

I am so glad you liked that one too. Seriously. Some good lovin can turn you all inside out and upside down. Make you feel like your heart is beating from outside your chest...beating it's way squishily all the way down the sidewalk and you have to chase it down and stuff it back in!

    The moth and the flame

I have liked Nikki Giovanni for a few years now, I think she is incredible. "i've not learned the acceptable way of saying you fascinate me I've not even learned how to say i like you without frightening people away" I am so glad to see that I am not the only one afraid so say these things. If it's tough for Nikki Giovanni too, then I am A-ok! PS I think it was her who wrote " I Wrote a Good Omelet", it is goofy and sweet, check it out!
