  1. In the vial: Spearmint, wintergreen, mmm.

On me: Wintergreen, oh please don't go claylike, mmm!

    Fading. Changing.

DAMN. I get Icing's 'eau de nursing home' with this on the drydown. No wintergreen on anymore. Just musty old lady home.

Maybe in a scent locket it will stay wintergreen? Because I lurve the initial scent. I will test.

  2. In the vial: White flowers, salt, tears, pepper.

    Wet: roses, cream, pepper, salt.

This becomes amorphous on me. I thought it would be amazing but GAH, a trouble I've been having with many scents lately; this goes to bland clay within half an hour.

  3. In the vial: Creamy red musk with black florals (very different from other reviews here)

Wet: Like Vice (candy) with florals.

Dry: So far, too perfume-like. Why do I always want perfume NOT to smell like perfume?

    Later: Whoa, mint coming through.

    Weakens to clay.

I wish I got what others got. :P

  4. In the vial: Cranberry cordial, faint fig.

Wet: I like it but it's too soft. I have to graze the tip of my nose against my wrist to even get a faint essence.

dry: plastic toys and fig newtons.

I think this could be great paired with something that brings out it's fig and orange... can't smell the orange at all. But alone this doesn't take the cake.

  5. Born in the shadows of a Temple to Set, this corrupted Egyptian scent evokes images of black pyramids, river demons, and bleak, deadly desert sands. Black lotus flower, amber, myrrh and sandalwood.

In bottle: Sweet and young, essence of bubblegum

Wet: Root beer? And a smoky floral coming through.

Dry: Candy flowers, clay, musty mildewed herbs, yucky... mold.

It starts great, but on my skin turns into yech.

  6. In the vial: White wine, white flowers, soap, aquatic sweet sparkle.

On my skin: same as above but softer, kind of makes my nose itch.

Dry: All the notes are really not for me. But I still admire this scent for its purity and paleness. An unobnoxious floral.

  7. Not sure which version this is. Do both bottles look the same? Mine had no year printed on the label and deep blue and black swirly designs.

In the Bottle: Ewww, pickle juice. And not nice fresh pickle juice. Old rank pickle juice. Maybe the 'miso broth' smell that some people were getting in earlier reviews? I almost didn't try it but remembered my 180 experience with my BELOVED Nephilim, so I gave it a shot.

On my skin: Old violets and pickle juice.

Later: Softens to something a little more sugary and powdery, but still a stark pickle-like musk. If that's possible.

    Swappppppingggg!

  8. In the bottle: sharp fruit with a booze note

    Wet:

    - pomegranate

    - guava

    - apple

    - rich fruit ambrosia

    - plumeria

    - flower punch

    dry: peach and pear

This fades on me to nothing. I must try it in a scent locket. Mmhmm.

  9. In the bottle: burned wood, mint leaves

Wet: This recalls the scent Spooky. That's what it smells like at first, coconut, mint and eucalyptus.

Dry: Lubriderm. I want to like this because I have an emotional attachment to vervain.

Yeah, it just goes to lubriderm moisturizer on me.

  10. In the vial: Almond, white honey, and sweet grasses.

Wet: Clay and almond extract, and YES the almond is lingering (usually my skin sucks up almond or turns it into cloying vanilla).

Dry: MAN. Vanilla and clay. There must be some note that goes clay like on my skin, I just need to identify it.

  11. In the vial: Morning dew and something citrusy. Also something like fresh cut tomato (this is a good scent, not a criticism).

Wet: Lemon and orange, cherry, sticky orange scent.

Dry: It gets peachy and plummy.

This has a very weird morph. I like it but I think I like Vice better.

  12. In the vial: Lemon so fresh I literally had to stop myself from licking the rim of the vial.

Wet: Lemon drops and ice. Wet fresh cut lemons glazed with sugar. This is bright, fresh and distinct.

Dry: Now a floral comes through, something like buttercups, very unobtrusive, like buttercups if they smelled of lemons. Still with a piercing lemon. The piercing part must be the rosemary?

I want a bottle of this someday, but it's not a priority.

  13. In the vial: Dirty and nuts

Wet: Dirt, nuts, woods, slight bit of mold... yech.

Dry: Now a slight cedar note, and a hint of evergreen

It's interesting to smell, but not something I'd want to smell like. Also reminds me of several other BPAL GC oils... which I cannot remember.

  14. In the vial: Like silver, if silver had a scent. Clean, light, bright, mystical.

Wet: It must be something floral, but it doesn't smell flowery. Like snow and silver threads also.

Dry: Starting to go a bit claylike so it might not be a bottle. There is also a very VERY vague hint of apple.

Arachne goes to clay and play-dough on me. :P I loved it so in its earlier stages. Maybe I'll try it in a scent locket and see if the problem is just my skin.

  15. Okay, I think maybe the lab accidentally mislabeled the imp I got of this because I'm not getting what any of you guys are getting.

On all stages in me it smells like cold marble and white, white flowers. Horribly strong and over-watered white flowers just choking me. White flowers white flowers, argh. Stop chasing me, white flowers.

  16. In the vial: Intoxicating. Clear, sparkling, deep, dark, sinister. I can't pick out specific notes.

On my skin: Cave water, green flower stems, and something creamy.

I don't love it but I love black opals (they're my birthstone and my zodiac stone). I think I might have to get a bottle anyway.

  17. In the vial: Overripe apples, green with a nutty overtone.

Wet: Odd. Apple stems and rotting apples. Cinnamon, dry cinnamon and clay-like apples.

Dry: Clay, rotting apples and their stems, wet falling apart wood.

    Neh.

I was actually sad about this because I love Punkie Night and was looking for a catalog scent to be like it in case I can't get my hands on Punkie. :P

  18. In the vial: Oranges, cool grass, rain. This reminds me of another BPAL scent but I can't place it. Alice maybe? Could be way off.

Wet: It's like Yggdrasil with ripe berries grown in shadow. Or like a sweeter Nephilim.

Dry: I'm smelling all these things I smelled before.. but also peanut butter. Nutty, freshly pounded nuts. Yep. Berries in shadow, forest, rain, and peanut butter.

I like this! But I'm not sure if it's quite bottle-worthy for me.

  19. In the vial: Sweet marzipan, with a sharp bitterness behind it.

On my skin: Freshly spilled blood. This smells like my own blood. Hmm.

    Later: Still smells like blood.

I don't think I'd have the balls to wear this alone, but I think it would be perfect to layer.

  20. In the vial: Almond and cold milk

On my skin: Toffee, sugared tea, pepper, fire, cinnamon and black pepper.

Gets creamier but overall maintains the purity of its scent over several hours on my skin.

    Mmmmm.

  21. In the vial: Almond milk, milky black tea. This is what I expected White Rabbit to smell like (it didn't)

Wet: Almond soap. Specifically it reminded me of Villainess Soap's Silk and Cyanide. Corn silk and almond extract. A soft almond creme. It morphs quickly though, into what I'm not certain.

Dry: A milkbath with a hint of sugar. It smells very natural and comforting. Like Earl Grey with lots of milk.

I do get some of the soft clean furry animal and dry plains now that I read descriptions, but the milk and tea thing is what I thought with my mind uninfluenced.

It's definitely a comforting scent. Very much a natural skin scent. No way this could offend anyone's nose, it's so organic, in a sense. I want a bottle.

  22. In the bottle: A sweet indistinct tartness.

On my skin: A salad of cut up melons, guava, and I can smell a bit of pomegranate too. It's fruit chunks that have been recently sliced and are now soaking in their own juices. OH MY PTB. Drool. I love this. Perfect for summer. It's so... ripe.

Later: No, no, no! Fading. This is turning into dust. Literally, it smells like dust.

Clay and dust. I'm going to cry.

The optimist in me wants to try this layered with something. Maybe if I wear it with a dab of SWANK or in a scent locket the fruit scent will be invigorated and cajoled into lingering longer in its truest manner.

I'll come back and edit this if I can entice it to stay by way of said layering.

  23. In the bottle: Slight almond, slight orange sweetness, and bookstore incense.

On my skin: Weird. Candle wax and a charred wick. Some sweet incense behind it.

Dry down: It gets a little powdery but still has that smoke-and-wax essence wafting. It gets a little playdoughesque on me, however, so I don't think I'll be keeping it.

  24. In the bottle: Ripe syrupy fruit with a touch of booze. Complex, with different types of fruit notes stepping forward and then retreating.

On my skin: This makes me feel sick, but (oddly) in a good way. Like the essence of debauchery. Fully realized and syruped (but not fake) fruits, and then alcohol and ... sleaze. I feel woozy smelling this. Like I'm at some crazy party and the music is pounding and I'm having a good time but I have a slight headache.

I don't think I'll be getting a bottle of this, but I think I'll be ordering imps semi-regularly. It's a confusing scent. Certainly fruity and a little sour as others describe it.
