This mostly smells like green, bitter herbs and maybe a powdery, musky floral perfume. Something about it smells slightly aquatic to me as well (clean sharpness as it fades).

Two not-so-good mixes I tried recently: Lawful and Paladin both have clean qualities to them, so I wanted to try them together. Oddly, together, they seem to amp up those clean qualities and actually turn soapy on me, when neither are soapy on their own. The chamomile also seems sharper and more bitter. Evil Halfling. I like Halfling layered with most things, but I hate Evil, so I wanted to see if Halfling could make Evil wearable for me. It doesn't. It's better than Evil on its own, because Halfling tries to sweeten up the blend, but it smells sort of like cookies smashed into an ash tray with a splash of sharp opium poured over them. Adding Rogue into the mix makes everything better again, though. I'll have to try just Evil and Rogue together at some point...

I like the name of this, but the scent doesn't work for me. I get that it probably isn't supposed to smell like a perfume and is more insect repellent-y, lol. First on, this smells like lots of herby, sour lemon, probably lemongrass or lemon verbena, and a drydown that's like sour lemon + a hint of green, slightly powdery mint. It might be nice, but I'm not really a fan of lemon or mint unless they're mixed with something sweeter...

This reminds me of apple blossom and bitter grapefruit. It's like a very soapy, fruity shampoo smell with a dry, bitter citrus. Then the drydown is less fruity and more like floral perfumed dryer sheets.

I like this blend a lot. It's sort of like pepper-spicy cedar chips with a drydown that's more like a sweet, warm sandalwood incense. I might try to track down a bottle for my hubby at some point. I just wish that it were a bit stronger and that it had more throw to it.

This is all sharp and sour lemon on my skin. It reminds me of lemon verbena or lemongrass. A clean and sharp sort of scent. I don't like it, but it only lasts about an hour on my skin anyhow...

I've never tried that perfume, but these came to mind when reading your description: *The Little Wooden Doll (Marchen) - "Gently carved wood warm with a maternal love that reaches beyond death: rose-infused amber and soft golden sandalwood." *Vasilissa (Marchen) - "Creamy skin musk and blushing pink musk with soft sandalwood, white amber, dutiful myrrh, and star jasmine." -
I really like bpal's apricot note, but this mostly just smells like red musk and maybe a hint of smoky tobacco on me. It has that fruity, warm, almost wine-like quality that red musk often takes on my skin. It's okay, but I have red musk + fruit type scents that I like more.

PX23 smells like warm, slightly powdery amber, creamy sandalwood, and wafts of light, sweet incense on my skin. It smells delicate, softly woody, and incensey. The blend doesn't have much throw, but it lasts about 3 hours and is sort of warm and comforting to me.

This smells like a strong, chemical-y, sharp white floral perfume on me. Maybe some citrus. The floral part reminds me of tuberose and iris, but I'm bad at identifying the sharper floral notes... Gardenia is usually creamy & sweet on my skin, so if there's gardenia in here, it's a sharper, more perfumey variety.

This is suprisingly fresh and spa-like on me. It's nothing like the dark, earthy-resinous vibe that I get from Putrefication v5. This is like slightly soapy aquatic with herbal/bright lemongrass or lemon verbena. It smells a bit like there's a hint of a masculine, lavender-y cologne in here as well. It's a little too clean and sharp for my tastes. Reminds me a bit of Phosphorous v5...

I like blends with lavender + resins, but SDPU1 doesn't show up with any lavender on my skin. This smells like dry, dark fruit (plum?) and dry spices on me, and makes me think of potpourri. It's reminding me of Frumious Bandersnatch, though it's been a while since I tried that blend.

I think that there's a good dose of black musk in this scent. I get a smoky, dark, acrid, masculine sort of muskiness from this, and not much else. The drydown is slightly powdery, but mostly just a heavy, sharp men's cologne smell. The released version was already too dark and musky-masculine for me, and this version has even less sweetness and more of that heavy musk feel, which makes it less wearable for me...

This starts off sort of fresh, pulpy-watery, and green on me... maybe the bamboo and lemon that others have mentioned. And then it dries down to something like powdery amber and bright, perfumey resins on my skin. It's odd how it goes from green and watery to dry and slightly spicy on my skin. It smells a little bit like dusty hay after a half hour or so, and then fades quickly after that.

This smells like Pine Sol, baby powder, and a whiff of sharp, smoky, slightly lemony men's cologne. It's a very cold and harsh scent on my skin. I agree that there might be black musk in this one, because black musk is usually sharp and masculine in the way that this turns on me...

I thought that Lyonesse smelled a bit similar to Scent of Angels. Antique Lace as well, but that one is ridiculously hard to find now. -
When I first sprayed this, I thought that it smelled a bit like mint and bubblegummy lotus. As it dried down, it started to smell funky and sort of reminded me of carpets with pet pee on them, like someone tried to cover up that sour, bad smell with some perfume. My mom said that it smelled like my grandma's cologne at first and then that it reminded her of pine sol and floor cleaner. My brother-in-law said it smelled minty and reminded him of icy-hot. My 3-year-old nephew said "it's yucky." And my husband and my sister both said that it smelled like dentist office. Sooo... Le Cafe Du Rat-Mort doesn't seem to have any fans in my house, lol.

In the bottle, this smells like intensely sour pine and reminds me of cat pee On my skin, it's chemical-y, sour pine that reminds me of pine scented floor cleaner. As it dries down, the pine-like notes sweeten and go slightly smoky, but then the scent disappears entirely within fifteen minutes... not a good experience, overall.

Chellah v4 smells like damp dirt (more brown and not like black potting soil) that dries down to a hint of clean dirt (does that even exist?) and vanilla-floral-slightly-spicy perfume smell on me. It smells complex and womanly, a bit dark and exotic. It's a little on the foodie-sweet side of things. I want to say that this reminds me of Storyville, but it's honestly been forever since I've tried that blend, and I like this more than I liked Storyville back then. I can also see the comparisons to Penny Dreadful, but this smells more complex and vanilla-spicy on me than Penny.

I can see this being a prototype for The Last Unicorn, because the two smell very similar. Thankfully, I like this prototype more. It still has the weirdness of creamy white chocolate (almost milky smelling here) mixed with slightly green, slightly soapy/clean notes. But where released The Last Unicorn goes sour and seriously off on my skin, this dries down to a nice, gentle mix of creamy sweetness and clean skin scent. I'm not getting the earth or darkness that other reviews have mentioned at all.

This is so intensely foodie. I love it. It's like the richest vanilla cream, sweetened by more vanilla glaze, and dusted with sweet cinnamon and clove. Spices usually amp up and ruin scents for me, but the spices here stay well behaved, subtle, and delicate. It makes me think of orange cake glazed with vanilla and orange pomanders without smelling really orange-y, if that makes sense. ICD 37 is foodie and strong (lots of throw with this one), and smells like it should be a Yule blend to me. I wish I'd gotten a couple bottles of this one from the etsy shop instead of some of the others I took a chance on. It smells good on me and would also be a fantastic room scent.

This smells very similar to the released Mme Moriarty on my skin, except that this doesn't seem as complex, deep, or dark to me... it has a bit more of a bright, tart, sweet fruity note and it's slightly lighter on the earthy/incensey edges. Still, the overall feel and drydown is almost identical for me. If someone applied this on me instead of the released version, I don't think I'd know the difference.

This smells like super-sweet vanilla, golden/perfumey musk, and a hint of red berries and pine at first. I don't think that it really smells cold or snowy (maybe a hint of a fresh ice note that's just sharply clean), but it does turn very perfumey and sweet on me. Mostly this is like a sweet vanilla and perfumey musk on me, with maybe a hint of dry wood. The drydown smells very vanilla-y on my skin. I love the way this works out for me.

This pretty much smells like dry, soft leather on me and nothing else. It's like a cheap leather purse, slightly chemical-y, with a layer of dust on it :/. I like a lot of bpal's leather blends (love White Rider, Red Rider, Bow & Crown of Conquest, and a bunch of others), but this is strangely chemical-y and nauseating to me. It has a bit of a cloying edge without smelling like anything sweet. So strange. I can't wear the leather from a lot of perfume oil companies, because it smells sort of cheap and fake/chemical-esque, and that's the problem I'm having with this blend. Leather, dust, and chemicals... makes me feel sick when I smell it. ETA: This has gotten a lot softer smelling. It's still dusty leather, but it reminds me of Thunder & Blazes a bit (like a lighter, not as good, not as grassy Thunder & Blazes, but still). It's not as sweet or chemical-y anymore, but it's still not better than any of the other bpal leathers I own.

This reminds me of being in a LUSH shop, full of milky herbal notes, sweet vanillas, and florals. It's like swirls of Dream Time bath melt (milky lavender), Candy Fluff powder, Alkmaar soap... There's a floral something that gets stronger in the drydown, and it smells like lotus on my skin. Lotus usually smells like creamy, pink bubblegum mixed with clean, creamy white floral (a bit lily-like). I don't get anything lemony or citrus. Overall, this scent is delicate and girly smelling, but it still has great staying power and a lot of throw on me. My husband said it smells like pink and white flowers with a little cotton candy. ETA: A lot of the bottles that I got from the lab's etsy site seem to have turned/gone off a bit. This one now smells like intensely sour lemons, lavender, and laundry soap... all of the sweetness that I loved before seems to be gone. Very sour and unpleasant. Sad, because I liked this for the first few months that I had it.
