I expected a lot of musk and leather, but I can barely pick out those notes. I get lots of creamy, sweet, lavender scented soap and hints of dry, herbal sage and juniper's damp evergreen smell. It smells like a spa fragrance. I get a bit of powdery brown musk in the drydown, but it's still mostly lavender.

I wish that I could kick the citrus notes out of this scent. It starts off all plush, resinous, slightly powdery, thick black musk sweetened with the syrupy, resinous opoponax. The patchouli adds a lovely, dark earthiness that's like burning patchouli incense. And then a weird, sour grapefruit comes in and adds a sharp, sour pulse to the whole thing. I want it to stay dark and thick and sweet, but the bright citrus ruins it for me and makes it feel discordant.

This does remind me of the occupywallstreet patchouli, which I wasn't really a fan of. It has a medicinal/mentholic edge and a dry, dusty, sour cedar sort of tone to it on my skin. The honey is sweet and slightly herbal, but mostly I'm getting dry, woody patchouli. It doesn't remind me of Banshee Beat/Revenant Rhythm, which was a darker, more lush patchouli with thick vanilla sweetness. Owl Moon is like occupywallstreet with honey instead of cocoa.

I don't have great luck with the lab's apple scents. Even with all of the lovely resin notes, this just winds up smelling like a sweet, red candy apple scented shampoo on my skin. No incense. Just artificial, sweet apple with a soapy edge to it.

A sour booze and dark woods smell from the whiskey (like whiskey poured over a polished, dark, wooden bar table), a smoky-sweet note from the tobacco, and a fuzzy, warm, powdery brown musk that amps up way too much on my skin. I think this is a fun scent, and I've kept my decant, but I don't love the dry, powdery musk in this one.

I get a big, loud jasmine and gardenia mix with a little honey. I prefer creamier gardenia notes, where this one is sharper and more traditionally white floral, and the jasmine is perfumey and slightly sour. Has that musky, sharp white floral drugstore perfume tone to it.

This is a light, springtime fruity-floral on my skin, with no tobacco or chypre. The jasmine is delicate and slightly weedy smelling, and only a little bit sour, with a hint of fresh, bright rose, lemony bergamot, and sweet, fuzzy peach. It's not very sweet or vanilla-y on me, though the peach and bergamot do add some sweetness. Fresh and leans towards a clean, natural smell.

I love both notes separately and even more together sticky, sweet black licorice candy (I feel like my hands would come away sticky if I touched this, if that makes sense) over a dark, black, new car type leather. Clean, sweet, unusual, dark.

I think I like red musk more in perfume than just floating around in my house. The musk seems to turn sharper and dryer when it's not on skin, if that makes any sense. The amber and orris aren't helping it out here either, going very dry and powdery. Maybe I waited too long to try this, but it's an underwhelming, warm, musky, dry, powdery scent now. Not sweet enough for me.

Dark and sexy and one of my favorite room fragrances. Lots of dark, slightly smoky, black leather and dark, woody patchouli and oudh. There's a little sweetness from the vanilla and a touch of sharp, sour red rose, but the rose is subtle and just smells romantic and sensual underneath the darker, more masculine notes. In a weird way, this always makes me think of Beauty & The Beast.

Initial spray is lots of tangerine, bright and cheerful, but quickly fades to a warm red musk sweetened with honey and made sharp/ perfumey / musky from the vanilla orchid. Smells like a spilled musk and floral perfume on my throw pillows.

Sharp, lemony cleanser scent with some powderiness from the sandalwood and amber. Makes me think of the way rest stop bathrooms smell, all disinfected and oddly powdery.

Watery, clean, but strangely warm smelling cucumber and tea. Like the perfume oil, this smells strangely floral to me. A warm, floral tea with some slices of cucumber next to it. I don't get the cake at all, but a bit of a warm, dry, golden, biscuity note in the drydown. Dry, floral, perfumey after a few minutes.

I wish that I could take a bath with this, but the bath oils make my skin break out, so I've just been using my bottle of Boo to scent the ends of my hair and as a perfume oil smudged between my wrists. I think this is perfectly named. It has that clean linen smell and lots of cool, super creamy, sweet vanilla. Makes me think of clean, white sheets hung outside to dry in the fall, sheets of unusual vanilla cream between the fabric, and friendly ghosts.

Definitely not the vanilla-y, gourmand rose of the original Pink Snowballs perfume oil (which was like Snow White + dewy, pink, soft rose). This smells more like the lab's actual snow note - minty and aquatic. Dries down to a soapy rose on me. I never get the vanilla or sweetness that it should have. I use bath oils the same as I use perfume oils (smudged over my wrists and the ends of my hair), because the bath oils make my skin break out if I get them all over myself. So this was tested as a perfume oil. Minty, soapy aquatic, sharp rose, not much staying power...

I use these the same as I use perfume oils (smudged over my wrists and the ends of my hair), because the bath oils make my skin break out if I get them all over myself. I wish that I were getting the cake or cheesecake or frosting smell that others get from this, but it's all pumpkin spice on me. A big blast of cinnamon. I'd be afraid to pour this into my bath; I'm sensitive to spice notes and I'm pretty sure I'd have a bad reaction to this. .

I really enjoy the scent of cardamom, but I tend to like it paired with resins or gourmand notes. It's a green, spicy, cool scent that always makes me think of green cardamom pods coated in a sweet hint of amber & vanilla. I like fragrances that play up the resin and sweet tones of it. This focuses more on the spicy, green aspect of it. I just don't care for the lab's new dead leaf scents. They're not like Falling Leaf Moon, which really smelled like a leaf pile, but they have a sharp, cold, aquatic cologne smell to them. This is cardamom thrown into a man's aquatic and green cologne.

This is absolutely foul to my nose. It goes on with a hint of actual marigold scent (that herbal, spicy earthiness that is so amazing), but completely coated in weirdness. It's like sour oranges, the dirty dust smell when you turn on the heater for the first time in winter, baby powder and powdered sugar. Bitter, strange, and way too dry and powdery, with a cloying edge to it. This is one of those fragrances that made me feel sick to my stomach when I wore it. Extremely disappointed.

I like this, but I think my decant will be enough for me. I agree that it smells like Spanish moss (a bit sour, very humid/damp, kind of aquatic, reminds me of Bayou). There's a cold, stone-like feel and a sweet earthiness (like the musty, slightly powdery, vanilla-sweet-ish soil in Death Cap) that rounds out the moss and makes it not as aquatic as Bayou. It definitely makes me think of heavy moss draped through old trees in a cemetery full of marble statues and tombs. Very evocative, but not something I'll often want to smell like. I might try it as a room fragrance.

This reminds me of Gnome, which is like Sprite (fizzy lemon-lime soda) with some soap dumped into it. Maybe a bit ginger-y. Doesn't last long at all on my skin.
-
The cedar starts off green smelling on me and dries down to a dusty, woody, dry cedar. I like the cedar part of this. I don't like the tobacco flower, though, because it does its usual cold, soapy, white floral thing on my skin, along with a perfumey, sharp rose note. I'm not that into florals, so it's not working for me.

A Pale and Glimmering Light Appeared Before Him
Little Bird replied to VelvetSky's topic in Halloweenie
I don't get smoke from this, but it does smell like a white floral + sour, humid, yellowy jasmine. Sort of perfumey/musky. Very floral and dominated by the jasmine. -
No wood, vetiver or moss on my skin; this is a full-on, laundry detergent, intensely soapy aquatic.
-
Soft, orange blossom-y neroli with a light, slightly powdery, white musk edge to it. I don't get any of the wood, but the frankincense has a bright, almost lemony quality to it. Mostly this is a musky, citrusy floral with a powdery tone. Something in it is going slightly soapy on me in the drydown as well. Faint and only lasts about 45 minutes on my skin.

Sickly sweet, over the top, strawberry syrup, like cloying strawberry syrup topping for ice cream (with no ice cream). The fizziness from the gin tries to calm down that sweetness, but this is still way too sweet and strong to my nose. Overwhelming sweetness.
