On me, this smelled like ferret. Musky and kind of stinky. Not really an attractive scent. Must be my biochemistry. Going to wash my arm now.

In the bottle this smelled very complex with many different smells I couldn't identify. On me it initially smelled like smoke - and not really a warm fireplace smoke - smoke from something not very nice. Something like I would imagine evil dragonbreath would smell. It then changed to a kind of floral with smoky underpinnings. Much nicer, but still not really me. Kind of graveyardy - like the smell of funeral flowers. I wanted this to work, but I guess I'm just not dark enough.

I have number XX (20) This an interesting one. I've never had a scent which didn't morph much from bottle to skin. It's hard to describe and I don't have the most educated nose in the world, but I'm going to give it a try: alcohol, and unidentifiable fruits. Kind of like sangria. Kind of like the stuff you make in a trash can with everclear and lots of fruit that you let sit for a day or so before the party. These are other notes here too, but they're slippery. The overall impression is a summer night party. After midnight when the candles are burning low and the container full of alcohol and fruit is wafting its smell around the yard. The insects are buzzing and the moon is a giant glowing orb in the sky that mesmerizes your drunken mind. It fades a bit to a lighter version - more sweet, but not icky sweet. I like this, but it's not the sort of thing I'll wear very often. I'll probably decant some for trade.

I just got this today. All I can say is "Wow." How ironic that my husband, who wanted to know why on earth I would buy a scent inspired by rotting squid, smells so damn hot in this. This the most "perfumy" one I've had. I can smell the ozone and the aquatic, but it's all one sexy, strong, blur.

I show Dragon hide is supposed to have leather notes, but I don't see anyone mentioning it here. Anyone in a position to compare? I'm trying to go through imps before I decide what I want in a big bottle. I love De Sade.

In the bottle: Tobacco - not cigarettes, but one of those pipe tobacco stores On me: The rum and chocolate come out to play making for a pretty complex scent. This is pretty masculine, but I will probably wear it occasionally anyway. I'll have to try it on the spouse. he mostly likes aquatics, so I'm not sure what he'll think.

In the bottle: Sharp, unfamiliar citrus. I'm not sure if it's because I've don't recognize most of the secondary fruits or that it all blends together. On me: The sharpness goes away and this turns creamy - like a yuzu ice cream. But not really sweet - very light. I'm not getting what I can distinguish as a tea note, but that could just be my uneducated nose. Unlike most of the scents I've tried, this smell stays pretty much the same, only fading a bit. I really like this. I'll probably spring for a big bottle when my imp runs out.

For me, this and Aureus are the light and dark sides of the same coin. Both have a very dominant wood smell on me. Whereas Aureus is a new cut plank, this is an old growth forest. I live in the Pacific Northwest and it reminds me of our rainforest. (If you've ever seen an X-Files with deep woods set - that's us.) Mossy and dark - slightly damp. It starts out with the wood smell as primary then slowly the wood sinks into a generalized smell of green. I like this a lot.
