  1. Impressions: Got Coyote in a swap, and goodness it is lovely soft fuzzy musk, pet me soft fuzzy cat fur because I am so damn cute.

In the imp: delicious golden musky

On me, wet: Happy mixed musks.

    Drydown: ambery musk, second-skin, suede

    Staypower: Excellent.

Verdict: Oh yeah, it's going on the bottle list. 5ml will do me fine :P

  2. Chaos Theory II: CCLXXII (272)

I ordered one bottle only. I had faith.

So this is what I can determine from bottle #272.

I want to be able to say "this is like such and such scent" but I can't. I don't own anything like this. It's creamy, yet not. But it is definitely berry. It's like a berry shake, if that makes sense. When it dries it is smooth and berrylike - bright and happy. More cheerful than Medea*, 100% less bouncy pop then Jester (which I like, I think.. still mulling it over). If it pulls a crayola out of the box it's purple-red going to a shade that almost matches the label. The scent isn't second skin, not like amber, not like dragon's blood. It's like 'hey, here I am, and I'm just pretty on you, yes?" Yes. I'm happy. No worries. I'll figure out the exact notes in here eventually. Or never. It's chaotic and lovely.

  3. I said to myself, "are you willing to call strangers and get this bottle?" and then I realized I really ought to try and see if I could.

And it worked out and thus, yesterday I got my bottle.

I wanted this bottle for a million reasons, and some of them obscure and strange, and thus not needing to share. Suffice to say, I wanted it enough to call strangers - and I really hate phones. I got over it.

In the bottle: It smells very lavender.

Drydown? The mellowest cinnamon stick I've got the pleasure to wear.

Rereading the description: It is what is describes itself as. :D A very effective blend. I had an itty bit today and was clearheaded enough to handle a lot of different communication issues and research.

Verdict: Worth getting disconnected no less than three times from Enchanted Castle. :P

  4. Anoint red, orange, and yellow candles with this blend and light throughout the home to banish ill-fortune, eliminate poverty and want, and infuse the atmosphere with hope and happiness.

Am I allowed to go first?

    picture0296ti.jpg

    I'm on it.
And what do you know, I have candles in that color now!

    Bottle: Amber
    Border: Purple
Credits: Twilight Alchemy Lab, Black Broom

Personal quirks: If I were to sit down and examine it fully, Bastet the goddess and I seem to be on good terms. I'm cool with that.
Bottle sniff: Very bright and relaxing, a cheering fragrance. I want to say citrus, but I don't think that is quite right. It's bubblegum bright, though. I can tell you what it isn't: resiny, ambery, minty, musky, coffee, boozy, dragonbloody or sandalwoody or excessively berry although I tore thru my imp box and it may have something in common with Jester, but not much.
It also doesn't smell like any of the imps I have on hand.
Impressions next to Bastet (one of my signature scents): Next to Bastet, now ok, it's like Bastet is that golden amber sunpatch you wanna lay in? well this is the SUN itself coming down on that patch. Color - bright yellow, for those of you who can relate on that level. These are very different smells.
On me: Lively, sparkly, and bright.
    Lasting powder: Medium.
My current mood: Really, really good. Content, even.
Effectiveness: Will keep you guys posted :P

Not to turn into a cranky hoarding wench but.. I don't really feel like sharing this one at the moment.

  5. Citrus, flowers, mint.

    Imp: Sharp, bitey.

    On me: Hm, minty florals?

Drydown: Mint goes away fast, but something still smells off. It might be the geranium.

Verdict: Glad I got to try it, don't care to keep it :P

  6. Imp: Ugh. I can't even put this on. It smells heavy and bad.

It's cranberry. I can't even put this on.

Verdict: Definitely for swapping. I have really bad gagging sort of associations with cranberries and have since I was younger (right, no cranberry juice, no cranberry glop at Thanksgiving).

Which is a shame since it does sound pretty on other people :P

  7. Impressions: Oh hm, I have white tea and ginger BBW. I wonder!

Wet: Tea, ginger. Neither of them are offending me.

Drydown: Fades a bit too fast.

Verdict: Excellent compliament to aforemeantioned hand soap, I think. May get the Envy for hot days when I'm not in a Neo-Tokyo mood though.

  8. Spicy HAWT frimp. :D

    Imp: Almondy plus cinnamon.

On me, wet: It's like a toasted almond rolled in cinnamon.

On me, dry: That's some kinda gorgeous, there, almond. My nose also tingles.

Impression: I like it AND I like Wrath. Oh dear.

Verdict: Well nuts, I thought I had my perfect cinnamon in Wrath. Now I'm conflicted. :P

  9. In the imp: I smell daffodil. When you like something that much, you know it when you sniff it. I also smell plum I think.

Wet: Mixed floral. Is that white musk?

Drydown: I'm not getting this fruity thing folks are referring to. This might give me a headache after a while, actually, its that sweet and doesn't have a thing to 'ground it'.

Impression: No spice, no kick, just a pretty girl holding a bunch of flowers.

Verdict: While vaguely impressed I could pick out the daffodil, it didn't stick around. Will find it a floraly loving home. :P

  10. If it were not for t3andcrumpets consistently going ON about this scent the last week or so, I wouldn't have been desperate to try it.

Oddly enough, as I ordered an imp, what shows up the next day as a frimp! :D I think I was meant to try it.

In the imp: Oh baby, lucious apricots.

On me, wet: Drizzled apricot syrup. I want to gnaw my wrist.

On me, dry: Stays put and doesn't get overbearing.

Lasting power: Not too bad. :P Would last longer over some lotion I think.

Impression: I'm almost afraid to wear this - bugs, okay. Summer means bugs around here. But I really really want to.

Verdict: This does for me what I was hoping Yerevan would do, and lasts longer, to boot.

  11. Source: Frimp.

    In the imp: Smells gorgeous.

Wet: Floraly, perhaps the gardenia and gladiolas, 'cause I'm not smelling the rose.

Dry: Pleasant mix of stuff, but way too heavy for summer. Like, spring evening. Not necessarily a 'me' sort of scent, but I think I could find it a good home among some friends. :P

  12. Imp: Mediciney. :P

On me: wet. Eucalyptus slapped me around, bigtime.

On me: dry - definitely orangey

Impression: I'm sorta in the mood to clean something now.

Verdict: Fabulous room scent. I'd want my dining room area to smell like this.

  13. Bottle: Adorable! :P

First smells: Unlike Nosferatu, Queen of Clubs doesn't depress me from the first whiff. It's sweet and earthy.

On me: Earthy amber, with a touch of currant.

Verdict: Not an every day scent. But it has this grounded, comforting feel to it I want to keep and reach for.

  14. Miskatonic U is the little gothy girl sitting in the corner of my most favorite coffee house in the world, which happens to have a neat view of the city proper, and a lot of books in it. :P

I'm so glad I ordered an extra bottle. Now that I've imped out what I'm willing to, I am quite comfortable in hugging this bottle along side Chaos Theory II: CCLXXII and going "it's a mememe scent" :D

Verdict: Good wet, dry, perfect concept, brilliant execution, all coffee, all the time.

As far as foodies go, I'm not kicking Spooky to the curb, but this beats that. :D

  15. Bottle: Sharp, tangy.

Wet: Softer than Cthulhu going on.

Drydown: Dries down a bit faster than Cthulhu. Very oceany, with a bit more ozone.

Impression: Seattle Rain from Goth Rosary is one of my favorite scents, and this is more oceany.

Verdict: I'm not totally sure what to think of Kingsport yet. I mean, I like it, but I also really like Cthulhu which starts out much stronger and dries down equally pretty.

I will probably put this in the swap only pile for another LE. I don't have to get rid of it, see. Not like Storm Moon and Milk Moon that screamed "get me out of the apartment right now". :P

  16. You know what smells really wickedly good?

    Envy layered over Novocaine Smooch.

    In the imp: Mint, totally.

On me: Mint, with a bit of green. My herbal garden is mint, all mint.

    Lasting power: Medium

Verdict: A bottle somewhere - definitely for summer. This humidity rots.

  17. I am shocked, shocked I tell you, to report how much I like this scent.

    A frimp from the lab.

    Imp: Fruity.

On me: Totally fruity, light, then vaguely creamy.

Verdict: :P This is a floral? I really like it :D

There goes my safe no floral rule out the window... :D
