    Lampades

In the imp: Cranberry, spice, florals. On, wet: Definitely a lot of cranberry. I smell like Ocean Spray, musk and spices. Not that this is a bad thing. Later: Settles down to spiced cranberry. Little bit of musk. The lilies are surprisingly absent, the ginger is unsurprisingly so. Ginger never seems to show up on me. Ah well, it's a nice scent, nonetheless.

    Glitter

In the imp: Sweet, a little tart (the wine, maybe?) On, wet: Little bit of pear, mostly lotus and wine. S'okay. Not thrilling. Later: Fades to almost nothing, and what IS there gets a little perfumey. Finally, a discon I don't love.

    The Apothecary

In the imp: Mossy herbal green. On, wet: Mossy herbal green. :/ Later: Mossy tea. ^^; Nothing too special, frankly. Like my other tea scents better.

    Catherine

In the imp: Orange blossom (neroli). On, wet: Neroli. Later: Neroli. Wow. Not even the rose shows up.

    Baobhan Sith

    In the imp: Apple blossom. On, wet: Apple blossom, with a citrus undertone. Later: Mostly the same as it is wet, but with a little extra bit of kick to it. Is it the ginger? Probably, but it's not strong enough for me to say so for sure. No tea, oddly enough. Damn, I love it. *pout* This, Cheshire Cat, Phobos... all the good citrus scents, bye bye, no more. ;_;

    Amsterdam

In the imp: Grass. On, wet: Sweet green grass. Later: So far the peony hasn't turned to laundry detergent on me, which is good! This is a very nice scent, green grass but sweeter, a gentle scent. No "aquatic" notes showing up, thankfully, just tulip and peony and lots of green, green grasses.

    La Belle Dame Sans Merci

In the imp: Sharp, herbal. On, wet: Still quite herbal. Later: Never mellows out, really, though it does fade some -- it just becomes faint, sharp herbal, instead of strong, sharp herbal.

    Bathsheba

In the imp: Perfume. On, wet: Carnation, a little musk. No plum. Later: Alas, the plum never does show up. And for carnation, I have a few I like already. Phooey. I really wanted that carnation/plum mix.

    La Belle au Bois Dormant

In the imp: Sweetly floral, a touch fruity. On, wet: Same as in the imp. Later: REALLY fades, to almost nothing. Faint whisps of sweet fruit & flowers, but not enough to really accomplish anything.

    Akuma

In the imp: Fruity. On, wet: Neroli, with a sweet, sweet, fruity undertone. Almost sickening, I'm not sure I like this. o.O Later: Yeah, that too-sweet/rotten smell has definitely come out more. Ugh. On first sniff, I get just berry sweetness, but almost as I stop inhaling, something weird and Bad lurks in the back of my nose. Icky. This continues for about half an hour, then it sorts itself out into a sweet berry scent with a hint of orange. Still, not worth that half hour of badness. Interesting. Neroli works on me sometimes, but apparently not in this combination. Huh.

    Carnal

In the imp: A light, fresh sort of fragrance. On, wet: Mandarin, with an undertone of something. One assumes fig, but I can't pick it out, exactly. Later: Stays pretty true to the wet scent -- fresh, cheery mandarin, with just a little something else to give it some ooomph, and some sweetness. Yummy!

    Brisingamen

In the imp: Amber. On, wet: Hoo. Insta perfume/soap. Not as bad as the black amber in Verdandi, but definitely Not Good. Later: Perfume/soap and something faintly rotten. Erk. Very nasty combination.

    Blood Kiss

In the imp: Something sharp and herbal. Vetiver, I suspect. On, wet: Vetiver, with something else in the background. Can't yet figure out what. Later: Definitely smell the wine, now. Though the vetiver is also still going strong, now it's balanced out. Some clove, too, a nice bit of spice/heat. Definitely, definitely no vanilla or honey. Or cherry, for that matter. Different, and interesting. Keeper.

    Mi-Go Brain Canister

In the imp: Fruity joy. But I can smell the jasmine lurking, ever so faintly, in the background. *hiss* On, wet: Still no jasmine-soap. *wary disbelief* It smells fruity. Maybe a little peony-soap, which is a gentler, harmless soap smell that doesn't put me off if the rest of the scent is good enough. No pepper, no ginger, no tea. We shall see how this goes. Later: If anything, it got frutier! Now I can pick out pineapple for sure, but mostly it's just... fruity. That peony-soap smell never goes away, but the jasmine remains surprisingly absent. This is a first! What a pleasant surprise!

    Nine Mysteries

    In the imp: Minty! Maybe some lotus? On, wet: Yeah, that smells like lotus to me. But mostly, it's still minty. Later: It's not the WOW peppermint of Spooky, but a gentler mint. Spearmint? Whatever is in wintergreen gum? I have no idea, but it's not peppermint. It's nice enough, but nothing special. Mint and lotus, ho hum. Again, its effectiveness as a voodoo blend, I cannot judge. I try these things for the scent, first and foremost. ^^;

    Block Buster

In the imp: Cinnamon and... uh... something. On, wet: Still can't tell what the something else is, but it's not nearly as overwhelmingly cinnamon as other blends I've tried. Later: Still cinnamon with that weird other background scent. Is it fruity? Is it floral? I honestly cannot tell. It's pleasant, but the whole scent fades pretty quickly into more of a suggestion of scent than anything else. As to its effectiveness as a voodoo blend? No clue. But it does perk me up a little, so the "inspires quick thinking" part is fairly close, I suppose.

    Blood Lotus

In the imp: Lotus, mostly. Quite sweet, a bit... watery, I guess. But not the sharp, painful kind of aquatic. On, wet: I wonder if there's sassafrass (sp?) in this? It would explain the colour, and the root-beery smell. How odd. Later: Kinda reminds me of Kabuki -- that same sweet, almost rootbeer scent. But there's another note somewhere that I cannot smell per se, but which gives me quite a headache. Into the swap pile with ye!

    Bewitched

In the imp: A bit green, a bit sweet. On, wet: Hmm. Green tea, mostly. Later: Yup, tea and berries. It is nice, but I'll have to think about whether or not it's different enough from other fruity/tea scents in my collection already. It's awfully similar to Empyreal Mist, for instance.

    Gingerbread Poppet

In the imp: Gingerbead. On, wet: Very cakey, more gingerbread than clove, nutmeg or cinnamon. Later: It stays very much a foody scent, rather than a spicy one. I can even smell a bit of flour, I swear I can, like how the remnants left on the counter after rolling out the dough smell... I like it, but it would have been better with more spice and less cake.

    Red Moon 2004

In the imp: Sweet and a little orangey. On, wet: More orange peel, some dragon's blood, heliotrope... nice. Very. Later: It's an awfully complex scent, there are notes I can smell but not identify. Mostly it's orange and dbr and heliotrope, but there's more to it than that, under the surface. I really wish I had been around to grab a bottle of this, it's fabulous!

    Gypsy Queen

Verdict: It smells like Succubus, more or less. Which it not surprising, since they're both neroli and bergamot. GK is a little more smoky, and lacking the clove, but in the end it's similar enough to save me having to buy a bottle of Succubus. Cool.

    Freak Show

Verdict: I have not had good luck with BPAL's chocolate blends -- they always go to pure cocoa powder on me. Until this one. Just a tiny hint of cocoa, FS is all fig and musk. I wanted this one to be a lot juicier than it's coming out on me. :/ I'll probably keep it, anyway, since the figgy note is quite nice, but... yeah, really wanted that pomegranate and lemon and bergamot and vanilla. Siiigh.

    Thalia

In the imp: I always have trouble figuring out fruit/floral scents in the imp. It just smells like fruit and flowers. On, wet: Is that...? Could it be...? It is! It's PEAR! Later: And it continues to smell of sweet, glorious pear. With a background of gentle plumeria. *happysigh* My pear scent, I found it! This is so perfectly sweet and fruity, but not at all the overpowering sweet of the berry blends. <3 !!

    Baron Samedi

In the imp: @_@ Sneezy. Hoo. Very sneezy. On, wet: Uh. Bay. Spicy, nose-tickly, bay. No rum. Later: Yup. Still mostly bay. I can see myself using this to layer with scents lacking the spicy OOMPH I want -- it's pretty straight up single-note spicy.

    Glasgow

In the imp: Generic fruity floral? It's hard to tell, in the imp. On, wet: Amazingly, it's another berry scent that doesn't smell much of berries. I'm shocked, and pleased. Later: Mostly, this stays a solid heather scent, with just a vague hint of berries sweetening it up. It really does make me feel like I'm back in the UK, though I've never been to Glasgow specifically. Mmmmm. In the imp: Generic fruity floral? It's hard to tell, in the imp.
