  1. Although this is only supposed to be used at night, I decided to use a dab for the purpose of review. Besides, it's night somewhere, right?

In the imp & just applied, soft, herbal mint. Not at all "foody" on me. It dries to an even softer, slightly sweet mint... it's there but not at all overwhelming. I want to say I detect a *very* subtle hint of dragon's blood, like a whisper, but I can't say for sure. Maybe more of a soft honey/vanilla w/very little mint left after about 30 minutes.

Very nice as far as a perfume, however, I agree completely with helarctos above...

"I believe this is valuable information so people know if they will find the oil physically/aesthetically uncomfortable when they use it for its intended purpose, BUT I do not believe TAL oils should be used as simple perfume."

I have to admit, when I read TAL reviews that mention *only* the perfume aspect, I tend to twitch a little. lol

It's definitely had a nice, calming effect. We'll see how it works when used as intended.

eta: Although I dabbed mostly for reviewing, I did make it a point to keep it's intention in mind while applying/wearing :P

  2. Another amazing blend :P

In the bottle, heavily spiced tea w/a stick of cinnamon & sweetened with honey. A touch of pepper and even lighter on the clove. Drydown, it becomes fuller, richer and rounded with the musk starting to show it's lovely self.

After a few hours, there's a beautiful creamy spice wafting around me. Lasts forever, the throw is soft and subtle, like a snake or cat slinking & slithering around, but definitely there.

    Exotic, langourous...beautiful!

  3. I went back and forth on this one...do I try to snag an imp...pass...no wait, maybe....The mentions of patchouli(icky on me) made me apprehensive, while at the same time, the beautiful description(Beth, stop it already!), and so many of the reviews, tempted me sorely.

I gave in...OMG, this is beautiful!!! Smoky, spicy woods and incense. Dark & lush, dry but somehow juicy, if that makes any sense. There's a touch of sweetness, like burning mesquite almost. Definitely lives up to it's description in every way & does so most beautifully.

  4. This starts out as soft dragon's blood with a slight cinnamon(or perhaps mint?) tingle on skin. After a while, gardenia appears but doesn't overwhelm, a bit powdery. Softens to a creamy, vanilla-like fragrance with a nice dragon's blood background.

Being as I got this as a purpose oil, I'd like to find out more about how to use it properly.

As a perfume oil, it's quite nice :P

  5. This is beautiful!!!

In the imp, sharp woods & herbals. Once on it turns into a chilly, lush forest of fir trees. As it dries, a very subtle, tart orange peeks through along with a touch of cumin(one of my favorite smells :P). There's more of a *feel* of mint rather than an actual smell. After another little while, the balsam comes through softly to add to the overall depth and feeling of deep woods.

Not a heavy perfume but not exactly light, either.

    Absolutely gorgeous!!

  6. Sharp metallic jasmine both in the imp and first applied. Yay.

As usual, jasmine takes over :/ For about 10 minutes, there was a beautiful undercurrent of deep, wet earth but alas, evil jasmine says, "go away".

Might give this one another couple of chances, hopefully jasmine will let the other notes will come through. RIGHT.

  7. In the imp, first impression, cinnamon?? Then, wth, is there jasmine in this??? uh oh...

Fortunately, the jasmine thing only lasted a couple of minutes after application *whew*. Cinnamon nowhere to be found, either.

The currant takes over nicely with the other notes gently stirring in the background. Also has a bit of dryness to it so it's not overly sweet.

Not sure I'll go for a bottle but I'll probably hang onto my imp :P

    Lovely!

  8. Sweetened lavender with the lightest hint of musk. Once on, there's a bit of bright mint coming through. Not as masculine as I'd expected, more gender neutral, imo :P After a while it's a bit more herbal, but the mintiness is still there.

It's a bit lighter than I like, fades quickly, but very nice nonetheless.

  9. Revisited:

Starts out beautifully...a bit dry, musty and acrid with a hint of sweetness. After about 10-15 minutes it turns all fruity/floral sweet. Kinda like Fruit Stripe gum :/

Got this for a friend, so just as well, I guess. Would've been perfect(for me), if it had stayed the way it started out :P

    Not bad, but not me.

  10. Starts out a bit on the herbal side with a touch of powdery sandalwood & slightly candy-sweet cinnamon. As it dries I also get something that makes me think....bergamot??

After a couple of hours, light, powdery gardenia.

As far as it's efficacy, my headache has mostly gone away, which is cool since gardenia usually *gives* me a headache. However, I seem to be getting into more of a foul mood since putting this on. Huh?? That's not right :P

I'll try this again, though. Hopefully it'll do it's thing next time :D

  11. Finally, the pleasure of Dorian.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this amazingly beautiful blend...

Smoky, spicy, musky, creamy vanilla with a touch of honey...Thick, languid, delicious sex. Heavy lidded..."do with me as you please", this is. Helpless panting/whimpering sex.

There's a very slight resemblance to Milk Moon, but Dorian...for consenting adults only.

Swoon worthy. And it's reason for being only adds to it's beauty. Beth, I hear ya & I know the feeling...

  12. In the imp and just on, a subtle but sharp smell of herbs, damp earth/dirt and slightly sweet, decaying flowers, although I'm guessing the sweetness is coming mostly from the wine notes.

As it dries it softens a bit & the wine notes take center stage to the dirt smell, which has faded nicely into the background but hasn't disappeared, thankfully :P

Reminds me a bit of the wet earth smell that is Zombi, but this one is...richer. With that decaying sweetness that Zombi doesn't have.

Definitely captures the feeling of vampire in coffin, hiding deep in the bowels of an ancient crypt.

A whisper of the undead this is.

    Beautiful!! I adore it!!

  13. Precious frimp sent by Finny :P

I've only just put some on...Well, about...15-20 mins ago but I just HAD to add my thoughts so far(as I doubt they're gonna change, lol).

In the imp, GORGEOUS! Nothing I can distinguish really except to say, the smells of autumn.

On the skin it immediately becomes even more beautiful =) Pumpkin, a hint of apple, light fall florals and most definitely, festival woodsmoke.

I visited a friend in Ohio 2-3 years ago and she took me to the most amazing and beautiful little town of Zorr(sp??). I fell in love with it. There was a festival that day. This Moon is that town.

This one also gives me the feeling of a deep, dark enchanted forest. Hansel & Gretel, the forest of Disney's Snow White...

I LOVE this Moon!!! A-hunting for a bottle(or two, three...) I must go....

Again, thanks to Finny for allowing me to experience this one!! :D

  14. In the imp and first applied, dragon's blood with a hint of jasmine.

Drydown, I get nothing but dragon's blood and nothing else, other than it goes a bit powdery, which I'm guessing is the patchouli, as it sometimes does that on my skin.

Nice enough, decent throw and seems not to fade much...But yep, nothing but dragon's blood on me.

ETA: Two & a half hours or so later this has morphed into a light, soft, almost vanilla creaminess. Little to no throw. Again, nice, but not big bottle worthy(as much as I hoped for it to be).

  15. In my newbieness I'm wondering if there a problem with the PayPal auto responder?

My July 25 order and subsequent PayPal email receipt was quickly accompanied by a "PayPal payment received" email from the lab's auto responder.

However my Aug 30 order was not.  I only got an email receipt from PayPal.  Should I be worried?

    :P

    TYK people!

That happened with one of my last orders but I received the order just fine. I'm betting you will, too :D But to ease your mind, go ahead and email the Lab :D

  16. Spicy musk is what I get from this. Both in the imp and on skin. Didn't take but about 5-10 minutes to go soapy/perfumy on me and blah, gave me a headache, too. Didn't get any of the notes listed in the description. Oh well. I was curious about this one so glad I got the chance to try it :P

  17. Honey & dry, cinnamon spice with a hint of lavender(I think)...

Within a couple of minutes it sweetens a bit and I get a bit more cinnamon. It's a candy sweetness. Like what you smell when you first open a package of Sweet Tarts.

Then comes the grape. Grape soda pop. Doesn't overwhelm, just peeks through. There's also a touch of incense in the background.

    I'm liking it!

  18. This is sweet, syrupy fruit. A combo of canned peaches and apricots. A very thick but bright scent. After a bit the musk appears, very subtle. No orange blossom and within about 30 minutes, has faded to almost nothing.

    Nice but not *me*.

  19. Named in honor of the most notorious female pirate to ever set sail. Wicked, cruel, beautiful, intelligent, resourceful and dangerous: a true role model. A blend of Indonesian red patchouli, red sandalwood, and frankincense. A million thanks to Juliana Williamson-Page for inspiration!

In the imp I get a bit of sandalwood and patchouli(not the icky black kind, though, lol)...
On skin, at first, same as above but it quickly strengthens and morphs into a lovely...cedar?? Yep, I get cedar. But it's an ocean sprayed cedar. Wet, woody and earthy.
    Gorgeous!!

  20. Almond is what I get most from this one strong almond, with a touch of creaminess to it. Amazingly enough, the jasmine didn't annihilate the other notes. Well, at least the ones that decided to make an appearance, heh.

There's a hint of powder, sandalwood, which likes to do that to me now and again.

After about 30 minutes it lightens up and sweetens considerably. A dry, powdery sweetness. Threatens to give me a headache, blah. Another one that's quite nice but just won't cooperate with my chemistry.
