  1. In the imp it's tangy lemon w/a hint of vanilla. Once on, vanilla with a touch of lemon & spice. As a perfume, lovely.

As far as efficacy, had a bad headache when I first put it on and it went away(headache) within minutes. Definitely calming, as well.

    Keeper!

  2. Hard one to describe...

In the imp, syrupy sweet vanilla, I think.. On, it retains the sweetness although it does lighten up a bit and there's an added smokiness to it. As the minutes go by, it lightens even more, hard to detect at all.

    Quite lovely, though :P

eta: In the few minutes since posting my review this has strengthened, although it remains soft...Like a breath of air stirred by a beautiful, haunting dead thing, as it floats by and gives you chills. Empty, and seductively sweet decay.

It's not the perfume that's causing me to quickly find this blend so amazing(although it remains ever so lovely), but rather, the feeling it evokes.

  3. A profound symbol of an individual’s personal initiatic process, spiritual refinement and evolution, synthesis, grace found as a result of trial and suffering, and the alchemical process by which we transform the raw essence of our souls through light in extension. This is a holy oil, a representation of the triumph of spirit over matter: purest rose with sacred frankincense.

In imp, more frankincense than rose. Once on, due to my chemistry never failing to amp it up, it's mostly rose. A beautiful, fresh red rose that fortunately doesn't give me a headache. After about 15 minutes the frankincense shows itself just enough to add a touch of sweetness.
    Lovely!

  4. In the imp, not sure what I'm smelling...Kind of a more on the masculine side cologne.

On skin, lightens a bit but retains the masculine edge. What I get is a slightly ozone-y, lightly toasted hazelnut. Eventually the frankincense peeks out but it's slight.

Nice enough, but not for me.

  5. Getting something different from last year's version...In the bottle and first applied, boozy & syrupy. After a few minutes the burnt sugar comes out to play but still mostly it's more maple syrup than anything. As with all Beth's foody blends, this one isn't really. On me, anyway. They tend to become a part of my skin rather than *just* perfume. I like!

    Lovely!!

  6. Wow, hard one to describe. In the bottle, lightly sweet with a touch of sharpness. There's something lurking in there that brought The Living Flame to mind. Doesn't *smell* like TLF, just a similar creaminess in the background somewhere.

On skin, a *very light* & sweet...coconut-like smokiness with maybe a touch of vanilla & sugared lemon. Not foody at all to me. The smokiness amps a bit after a few minutes & it's simply lovely.

It's a bit of a light'ish perfume, although that said, it seems to go up and down... Lightens up to almost nothing and a minute later, there it is again.

Beautiful blend!! Glad I've got another botle on the way. :P

  7. Mental, physical and spiritual purification.

Fresh cut, tart lemon. Nothing artificial about it :D A touch sharp and herbal, fresh. Not at all sweet, but no but no bitterness, either. A bit on the light side, hard to smell but lovely nonetheless.

As far as efficacy, so far so good :P

  8. In the bottle, fresh tart apples. On, it immediately goes all generic scented/perfumed lotion. Like, generic floral something from the drugstore aisle. Made me sneeze, too.

What a disappointment. I'll give it another chance, but it's unlikely it'll get better, *sigh*.

  9. In the imp, thick & heavy. It goes on a bit lighter with a hint of sweetness from the myrrh, which strengthens a tad upon drydown & tempers the vetiver.

A beautiful, very rich blend. The langour one feels after a good tumble in the sack :P

  10. This is lovely!!

In the imp, just applied and drydown~Cedar. A beautiful, rich cedar :D There's a bit of smokiness to it, as well. Like the smell of chimney smoke in a lush, damp forest.

Seems my skin likes to amp cedar...But that's okay, I adore it! The other notes are barely there, if at all. No cinnamon whatsoever. I don't know that this will be a big bottle purchase, but I'll definitely enjoy the imp :P

  11. Huh, nothing even close to resembling olives. Hard to describe...kind of a light, sweet cinnamon candy sitting in fresh, green herbs. On skin it lightens up considerably and there's an added smokiness to it. This has gone so light I can hardly smell a thing unless I plaster my nose to my wrists. But it's not *completely* gone. I think....maybe....a hint of olives.

Very nice and definitely has a calming effect :P

  12. Magnificent three-faced Goddess of Magic, the Dark Moon and the Crossroads. She is the Mother of Witches, and the midnight baying of hounds is her paean. Her compassion is evidenced in her role as Psychopomp for Persephone, and her wrath manifests as Medea’s revenge. Deep, buttery almond layered over myrrh and dark musk.

Hello ALMOND! Almond extract to be exact & quite strong in the imp. As soon as it hits my skin it turns to a dark buttery(which fades to the background) loveliness accompanied by a wonderful, lightly sweet myrrh & a spicy, smoky seductive musk. Has a beautiful, incense-like touch to it. There's a lazy, almost opium den-like/come hither feel going on.

GORGEOUS! I need a bottle 'cause the imp ain't gonna suffice, let alone last very long.

  13. Both in the imp and just applied~Spicy floral (almost generic) perfume. Goes through a short period of woodsiness(is that word??) that's quite lovely. There's a touch of creaminess to it for a few minutes and then...jasmine :/ Jasmine with what feels/smells like cedar(YUM) trying to come through. Can it be?? Jasmine has lost the battle?? =)

Fallen is quite nice...I'll have to give it a couple of more tries to make sure that the jasmine is going to mind it's manners before I decide for sure on this one. But yeah, so far so good.

  14. At first I get a lovely, wet cinnamon, not at all overpowering. Quickly goes to a beautiful, warmly spiced amber. Doesn't feel "sunny" to me really. More of a *African savannah at dusk or just after*...A bit on the dark side with a hint of smoke and incense(on me, anyway). There's something very lush & "skin muskiness" about this, as well. Ends up a bit light/hard to smell..No big, I'll just have to slather :P

Reminds me a bit of Bengal w/o Bengal's pepperiness.

Definitely "golden", definitely beautiful. Definitely bottle worthy.

Especially for a Leo. Like me :D

  15. In the imp, I get roses & not much else. On, the roses quickly turn to...jasmine :l Goes through a short period of powdery sweet dragon's blood & then....jasmine. Granted, it's not a heavyscreamingjasmine, but jasmine nonetheless. Nothing else *sigh*....

Evil jasmine, wants to own me. I've also come to the sad realization that BPAL's dragon's blood refuses to work on me. Goes all powdery jasmine or gardenia on my skin. Wth is THAT about?? blah. :P
