    The Blood Garden

This goes on like very grapey wine, but quickly changes and gets much darker. The leather and bitter clove become much more prominent and makes this scent seem "dark brown red" in scent, which is certainly appropriate! You can still smell the grape, but now it's really woody and deep also and this scent is a bit masculine now. It's really sexy in a way and all the notes in this blend really well. It certainly evokes the image it was meant to! It doesn't stick on my skin for long though I noticed, but my skin does have a tendency to eat scents :/

    Agrat-Bat-Mahlaht

I was expecting something a bit heavier than this based on the notes, but other than that I think it falls pretty much in line of what I was thinking! It goes on heavily amber on me, but then lightens - and sweetens - up with a very pale honey. The apple blossom steps right up and makes itself the center of attention - I would say that it is the dominant note on me! The musk and caramel are pretty soft and "quiet" in this scent, so the end result is something playfully sweet, but not heavily so, and pretty and fruity. A very girly, feminine scent - love it!

    Stormclouds Over The Midway

Definitely ozone and incense, and something slightly floral as well. That must be the "plum color" perhaps - this comes across like floral incense wafting over the cool airs of a storm. It's pretty and light - not too strong on the ozone - and would make a wonderful Summer scent. There is also a slight minty-ness to this... the wormwood?? It's VERY light, so if you don't like mint don't fret over that too much Normally, I don't care for ozone scents and though I like incense blends I don't reach for them that often. But this scent is making me think I need a bottle of it. QUITE pretty!

    Bezoar

Something is not vibing right on me in this, and I'm pretty sure it's cardamom. I have a really iffy history with that note, and it sometimes makes me feel ill. This is one of those unfortunate cases - I can tell you that it's a very green scent but with definite spices. Makes me think of some of the green Yule scents that get released, that have that general green/spice thing going on. Other than that, that's about all I can say for this one I'm afraid Darned cardamom!

    The Chapel 2008

I didn't buy this one because I usually find myself liking resinous blends but not loving them. I got a sniffie of this though and I have to say I think it's quite nice. Again though - I like it, don't love it. It is pretty dark but also has a bit of a foody edge. It's resinous and dark and incensey but... there is also this sweet, lightly spiced foody note in there that takes the edge off of the darkness I think. I like that combo and it works well in this scent.

    Screaming Mandragora

The idea that this is "rooty fruit" sure is appropriate It's about what I expected in the earthiness/rooty factor - it's deep and sort of dirty smelling, an almost... pencil shaving like bitter sharpness to it. But at the same time, there is a sort of a vague, pale fruit as well. Not tart or overly sweet, just very light and a little warm. The end result is an interesting combination, and pretty fitting for the name I think. What I expected for the most part but a little more "playful" than I had anticipated. I had to admit I was afraid to test out my sniffie of this. Like I need to fall in love with a scent that would be so hard to get hehe! Luckily, I don't LOVE it, but I think it's really nice and I'm so glad I got the opportunity to try it!

    Brown Jenkin

This one smells so good but it smells *exactly* like two different scents combined on me. Death Cap's earthy vanilla + Black Pearl's iris and coconut. It works out beautifully together, and this is a definite MUST HAVE BOTTLE OF. Loooooove.

    Dragon Moon 2008

Wow, this is SO different than the original Dragon Moon - it's like the polar opposite of it. It's strong and resinous and has a hearty, almost smokey base to it (whereas the original is a light, airy scent). It's as if each Dragon represents different elements - the first one represented air and this one represents earth, as it is more "grounded". It's definitely a "dragon's blood scent" so if you aren't fond of that note, you probably aren't going to care for this much. It starts off deeply herbal and green but then smooths out and sweetens up a little bit.

    The Ghost

A very clean and airy blend - less floral than you would expect, it reminds me more of crisp linens than of white florals. It is definitely a "white" scent though, would be nice for Spring or Summer when you are trying to at least smell cool even if you don't feel cool hehe

    The East

I wish I were getting the blend that some other people were - but I don't get mint in this one at all. I get a sort of light tea-ish scent with some florals and what smells like a watery berry. I dont really feel one way or the other about this one, it actually makes me think of Dragon Moon the original oddly enough. I really want to like this one, but I just don't know how I feel about it. Think I'm going to have to hold onto it for a while and see how it ages

    Nanny Ashtoreth

Very lovely leather note in this, with an undercurrent of cologne with a slightly sweetish vibe. I don't get berry or honey here, and this is a little masculine for me but quite lovely all the same. I like the "cologne" note here and think it would smell lovely on a man!

    Wensleydale

DELICIOUS! I adore this scent, it's so fresh and clean and without that "soapiness" and there is a little something sweet and almost fruity in this as well. It's a perfect cool, clean and bright scent - I wish I had ordered a bottle of this!

    The Ifrit

A very incensey blend - oddly enough none of the notes really stick out to me - I don't get any distinct cinnamon, or dragon's blood, or tobacco. The red musk is mingled with a strong "incense" note (frankincense it smells like?) and the result is slightly powdery, a smidge sweet and really sort of a prime example of an incense blend I think. If someone was going to ask, "What exactly makes an incense blend smell like an incense blend?" I would have them smell this blend lol. When I go to our local Ren Faire, and you sort of stand around the stalls and you get that smell of about 200 different incenses combined - that's this smell lol. It's lovely and appealing in it's own way, just perhaps too incensey for my tastes!

    Aelopile

Oooh! At first it's a blast of bright citrus - lemony and fresh. On my skin the cedar starts to become more clear, offering a woodier, drier base for this. The amber smooths it all out and what's left is a very nice warm, citrus blend with a slightly bitter, woody background. I really like this, lovely and golden!

    Violet Ray

This does remind me of Ultraviolet in that this is a violet scent with a refreshing sort of tang to it. Almost a green background - it makes me think of grass. It does dry down to a sort of sweet and powdery scent though - but I DO still get violets in there. It's a pretty violet scent, perhaps a little too much green in this one for me though.

    The Robotic Scarab

I was super curious about this one because I love leather and I ADORE anise. I was a little worried about the metallic notes though, because those are often ozoney and too masculine on me. Unfortunately, it does the same thing here lol. It's really nice in that it's a very warm, lightly spiced scent with a faint leather background. But it IS distinctly masculine in my opinion. I don't get the anise unfortunately, but I do see where you could certainly close yours eyes and imagine the "lubricating oils" It has almost a sweet, incensey quality to it. It's nice, just not for me!

    The Obsidian Widow

This scent is like being smacked in the face by a bottle of wine lol. It was so strongly wine at first, and even now in the drydown, the wine is pretty dominate - followed by a very deep rose and what I believe is myrrh. A very heady, sensual sort of scent. Not for me but I can imagine a lot of people are really going to love the depth of this one!

    Bruised Violet Compound

As already stated, this is a very dark, earthy violet scent. The patchouli root is very dense and dirty smelling (not in a bad way!) and the violets are dark purple in scent. That moss adds a touch of warmth and a hint of spice to it - making this a very deep but wearable scent.

    Stimulating Sassafras Strengthener

I couldn't have said it better - I LOVE LOVE this blend!!

    Nostrum Remedium

ROFL @ above review. I have to say that I am disappointed in this scent. Not that it isn't a nice scent, it just isn't wasn't I had my heart set on! Black tea is one of my favorite notes and I was hoping for a sweet and spicey tea. Unfortunately I don't get tea or honey in this. The wasabi isn't quite like wasabi to my nose - it has a pale green scent with a vaguely minty quality. It reminds me a lot of Ultraviolet. Ultimately, it isn't a bad scent - sort of clean and light. I just had my heart set on that tea and honey!

    Tiki King

MANLY SUNTAN LOTION! This does smell like suntan lotion, and I mean that in the best possible way. It has a very smooth and subtle coconut and a delicious lemon note backed by a woody, masculine and dry scent. Simply lovely, I adore this one!

    Manhattan

I have to admit that this particular blend never really caught my eye - it has been on my "want to try" list since it came out, but only because the notes sounded like they could be alright on me. I had no particular excitement about it though. I got a frimp of it in my newest order and when I tried it on, I was pleasantly surprised by the uplifting citrus vibe it has - it's very clean and airy and lovely lemon and grapefruit are at the forefront. As it dries down, it takes on a deeper and spicier scent - still retaining it's overall uplifting vibe though. This is really a sort of surprise hit with me - it's complex but not convoluted, uplifting but with depth - just lovely. The downside is that the throw is pretty weak on this one but I will just have to slather, I really love this!

    Hexennacht (2008)

I've always been on the fence about fir and pine, as they can go terribly wrong on me and do well on me other times. I was drawn to this blend though with it's musky and golden notes. The musk and amber in this are LOVELY. But the pine in this just confirms to me why I usually avoid that note in the first place - it's simply too masculine for me. It always makes blends seem manly on me. It IS very pretty regardless though, and if it were my husbands type of scent (he loves clean/ozone scents) I would give it to him. Very nice blend, even if it didn't work out for me!

    Rangoon Riptide

Goes on like Sweet Tarts Tart, sugary and fruity! It's very strongly pineapple and rum, and I love how sweet and strong it is at first. I really like it, but the bummer is that it doesn't stick around on me WIthin 15 minutes, I can hardly sniff it on my skin. Too bad, it would be such a fun summer scent!

    Blue Fire

Papaya, blueberry, lemongrass, and gin. Oooh blueberry! I have had blueberries on the brain lately, and this definitely satisfies my craving lol. It's so bright and fun and sweet. The lemongrass keeps this a bit on the tart side, so that it doesn't get too heavily sweet. I could honestly kick myself for not buying a bottle of this one, I LOOOVE it!
