    Veil

In the bottle: Sharp, overpowering floral - mostly gardenia and lavender, and what I think is the violet On me: At first this is WAY too floral. It's kind of acrid smelling, and I'm certain that's the gardenia because it was the floral in Highwayman that did that same acrid smell on me. The gardenia and lavender kind of push everything else to the side and so far I am not getting anything else. After a while I can smell the violets a bit, and very very VERY faintly in the background the white sandalwood. Actually, I only THINK it's the sandalwood, I'm not certain - that's how faint it is. This is pretty floral to me. Final note: If you don't like florals - no matter how enticing the white sandalwood is - it's probably best to steer clear of this. Unfortunately on me personally, gardenia just about kills any other scent, and though I like it in moderation, I don't want to smell just like gardenia.

    Envy

In the bottle: Lavender. Strong, strong lavender - it kind of scares me a little because I think it might be TOO much lavender On me: At first, it IS too much lavender. I'm worried because though I like lavender in moderation, I certainly don't want to smell just like that. After a few minutes though it becomes herbally and green with an earthy smelling mint rounding it out. The lavender is there in the background but it's very subtle, it's not overwhelming the scent. Another few minutes and I can smell a tiny little bit of lime, it's not biting or tart, it's fresh and green and adds a little edge to this. In the long run, I think this smells very GREEN, in the truest sense of the word. It's fresh and very unique, and also complex. Final note: I was really hoping the mint was going to be more prominent in this, but it's in the background just rounding this out most of the time. The lime is barely there, so I didnt really get what I was expecting from this scent, but I definitely don't dislike it either. I think this would be great for days when I really need to feel fresh and picked up. This would work really well on a man too, and yet doesn't smell too masculine. I'm not sure if I like it enough to buy a bottle, but I don't know that I *don't* like it enough either. I think it's going to take a few more times before I figure it out

    Dorian

In the bottle: Wow, I can already tell I'm going to like this, it's musky and sweet On me: There is no doubt in my mind right now about why Dorian is such a popular scent. This is absolutely beautiful. This would work well on a man OR woman, it's just one of those scents that's so perfectly gender neutral in my opinion. The vanilla comes through perfectly but it's not so overwhelming that it makes this a sugary sweet scent. I don't get any lemon at all in this like other people do, but the musks are wonderful and deep and the tea smell is perfect. Either one of the musks or the tea is offering up a slightly biting, kind of minty smell. Maybe there IS mint in this, but I don't think so. If there is, it's very faint. It's just this crisp *kick* in the scent that makes me love this even more. Final note: Dorian is a massively popular scent for good reason. This is one of those scents that I think most people will love (not all!), and it's a great everyday, any occasion perfume. This is just gorgeous and I will definitely be getting a big bottle!

    Dirty

In the bottle: This is hard for me to describe in the vial... there is something oddly familiar about the smell, and also something a little boozey smelling to me, though I know this will change on my skin. On me: Wow this is lovely. Right off the bat even, it starts to smell fresh and clean, exactly what I expected from this blend. It doesn't so much smell like clean linens to me, since it doesn't have this particular...muted quality to it that I would associate with that. It makes me think of when my Aunt is over doing her laundry, and she just comes out from the laundry room and the smell of fabric softener is strong on her and underneath you can even smell a bit of her perfume. It's clean and fresh still, but it's romantic smelling to me as well. Final note: I really like this, this will be great for days when I need to feel *crisp* On a side note, this reminds me a bit of Benefit's "Maybe Baby", one of my favorite perfumes!

    Snake Oil

In the bottle: This smells warm and slightly sweet and wonderful. On me: Plain and simple, this is very exotic and sexy smelling. Sandalwood and vanilla and that's mostly what I get from it (though I swear there must be amber in here too), but it's so sexy and alluring I just adore it! It has this really smooth, warm quality to it, and manages to be every so slightly sweet without being foody. Final note: I am IN LOVE with this perfume. It's perfect for me!

    Black Lotus

In the bottle: Sharp and fruity, not floral at all to my nose On me: At first... I'm kind of worried. I'm getting the bubblegum thing that I hear some people get from lotus. It's not awful, but it's definitely not my thing. Really does smell like bubblegum though. After a while though it starts fading and though it's still slightly sweet, and definitely not floral - that myrrh and sandalwood starts to kick in and add an extra dimension to this. Now it's got this smokey, sweet, underlying fruitiness to it. It makes me think of the beach in a way, when you pass by a woman warmed from the sun, the smell of suntan lotion just barely lingering on her and the scent of some Hawaiian fruit drink mingling with her warm skin smell. Final note: To be honest, I kind of like this. I'm not sure if it's something I'd wear often, but I could see myself wearing this out on a warm summer night, so I'll be keeping this imp!

    Water of Notre Dame

In the bottle: Even though most people seem to agree that this is a "green" scent, my initial impression is aquatic floral. I'm smelling lily. On me: Crap. There has to be lily in this, because all I'm getting is handsoap. I so wish I were getting green or fresh, or anything else. Unfortunately, it's just soapy for me. After about 5 minutes it does that thing that lily tends to do on me - which is turn into soap+fresh grass. Fresh definitely - in that soap kind of way, but I am sure this isn't how it normally smells. Lily just hates me. Final Note: If lilys don't get along with your chemistry, this might not work out for you. But, don't take my word for it, since we're all different, you never know!

    Where is this scent?

Hey Yummysushitoo Verdandi is in Excolo, part of the Norns
  9. I agree with Hunter Moon!! It's lovely and smokey sweet Djinn was definitely more of an acrid ashey smell to me, but might be different to someone else!

    Jabberwocky

In the bottle: In the bottle, this made me make this face -- "@___@" -- it's so strong and very eucalyptus that it jolted my senses On me: At first, this is very much Eucalyptus, it's powerful and I can't smell anything else. In a few minutes though, the pine takes over and I smell like a household cleaner. Not pleasant at first. About 15 minutes after wearing it though, the orange starts to peek out a bit, and the pine takes a backseat, while the eucalyptus becomes more refreshing yet a little more sweet as well. I really enjoy the scent at this stage. Final note: I'm honestly still trying to decide about whether or not I even like this. The problem is that it doesn't last on me, after half an hour, I can barely smell it at all. And I don't like the initial phase of smelling like a cleaning product. But it does have a nice phase after that which makes me feel fresh and uplifted. I'm pretty much right down the middle on this scent. I don't think I'll get a bottle of it, but I do think I'll keep my imp!

    Djinn

In the bottle: Acrid and strong, made me think of an overpowering mens fragrance counter smell On me: At first, my initial impression of a mens fragrance counter stayed pretty true. It just kinda smelled like a generic mens cologne. After about 5 minutes, I could smell more of what I think people are referring to as the "ashy" smell in this. It's somewhat dry and oddly...sweet - but not in a sugary kind of way, in a sweet woody kind of way. Despite detecting that ashy smell in the background though, this pretty much just continues to smell like a man's cologne on me. Nothing really stands out to me for me to really identify. Final note: Would make a decent men's oil, and this does sweeten up a bit on me later on, but I'm just not really that into this as it doesn't stand out enough as being unique on my skin. EDIT: After about 30 minutes, this starts to smell kind of acrid again, a little more like I remember just burned ashes and wood to smell like.

    Kali

In the bottle: Straight out of the vial this is an odd scent to me. Something that brings about certain memories but I can't place the scents. There is something very "grown up" about this scent, and it has a very womanly, exotic smell. On me: hmmm more oddness. This is so familiar to me. It makes me think of walking into one of my favorite oil merchants at our local Renn Fest every September. It's the scent of womanly perfumes mingling with the outdoor smells. Outside the shop is a food vendor and you can smell sweet and warm desserts, next to that the wine vendor. Right outside the oil shop you'd find lovely, delicate flowers, just gently mixing with the scent of the oils. Final note: I do so love this scent. I wasn't sure I would at first, because it was striking me as so familiar but I couldn't place it. The cocoa smell is more cocoa buttery than chocolate on me (as Andrabell noted), and the honey definitely comes through as light and feminine rather than overwhelmingly sweet. After about 10 minutes, the florals come through but they smell wonderful. I wish I could figure out exactly what floral it is that I'm smelling in particular because unlike most florals, I actually really like it. This is very unique and I will definitely be buying a big bottle of this. EDIT: After giving it a good sniff in the bottle again I finally know what it makes me think of JUST in the imp (not when I'm wearing it at all) - it smells like a maragarita that is WAY heavy on the tequila. Seriously. Actually, if I put a bit more on, I smell like tequila for about 60 seconds haha. Also of note, after an hour or so, this is a very nice sweet pipe tobacco smell, with hints of honey.

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

If it helps at all Chirp, my Hemlock is a pale green and is a very green smelling like eucalyptus with no hint of floral (to my nose anyways).

    Dana O'Shee

In the bottle: I swear I'm getting almond oil. That's about it from the vial On me: Oh yah almond oil. And honey I think, because this isn't as in-your-face rich as almond oil, but like a lighter, sweeter version of it. It's VERY feminine Final note: This is really light, and sweet in a non overwhelming way. I think this would be perfect for a light, rainy day. It doesn't really have very much throw on me though, I'd probably have to use quite a lot of it.

    Intrigue

In the bottle: Oh wow is that ever interesting. Deep, dark cocoa scent with a sharp note of something fruity like - definitely the fig. On me: This was one that I was really unsure of because I didn't really know how fig was going to smell on me (having never worn anything with fig in it). Turns out, I think it smells fantastic on me. The cocoa is really prominent on me at first, but after about 5 minutes, the fig totally kicks in and that's definitely the strongest note on me. I can definitely smell a hint of the woody note in the background, but mostly I'm getting fig. Final note: This is really nice, it makes me smell like a fruit and nut Russel Stovers chocolate I'm having a hard time deciding if I want a big bottle of this or not, but it's nice enough for me to definitely consider it!

    Hymn

In the bottle: Hymn is really interesting, it smells exactly what I thought it was going to smell like. Floral and incensey, it's such a unique combonation. On me: Yup, pretty much what I knew was going to happen. The Lily kicked everything else to the curb and now I just smell like soapy lily unfortunately. I'm coming to learn that lily doesn't work on me personally, so I know that for other people this will probably smell really nice. But on me, it's just lily and nothing but. Final note: Clearly a really interesting scent from what I smelled in the vial, sadly though, my chemistry amps up lily and now I smell like soap.

    Belladonna

In the bottle: VERY green and strong, a bit sharp On me: This is a little hard for me to describe because I can't really pick out one scent over another. It comes off strongly medicinal on me, maybe just a tiny hint of mint in there, and there's something warm and a tiny bit sweet laying under that medicinal smell. Final note: Unfortunately, that's all I can really say about this one, it does stay smelling medicinal on me, not something I think I'd wear. For those that would want to, I should note though that it did fade awfully quick, within a couple hours I could barely smell it anymore.

    Depraved

It seems that I am among the minority on this one I'm afraid. I got this as an extra from sagitare (very very kind of her) and I really wanted to like it! Unfortunately though, it clearly does not like me - In bottle: GUH. Nasty. Chemical smelling, like wood polish. Just...made me cringe On me: I've had several scents now that smelled positively awful to me in the bottle but went on beautifully. I really wanted this to be one of those scents. It wasn't. On me, the apricot note is almost entirely lost, and what is there doesn't smell fresh, or tangy the way I expected. This honestly smells like a musty old cedar drawer, with mothballs and the remanants of a very very old citrus sachet. There is no change in this at all for me, several hours later, this is still what I smell like. Final note: This smells positively dreadful on me. And it seems to have serious lasting power to boot lol.
  19. You and me both!! Hunter Moon is definitely my favorite so far, it really embodies my idea of what Autumn smells like and I just ADORE it. If they brought it back, I'd order as many as my bank account would allow haha! I just ordered another 3 imps and a 5ml from forum members, I do love it so. Thanks for all the comparisons too! Lampades is definitely going on my next order, as is Lady Macbeth - which I had a feeling might come out sweeter, so I figured I'd try layering it with a dab of Three Witches myself (another fave!). Arachne surprises me, but hey if someone out there thinks it might compare in smell, I am ALL up for giving it a shot haha. And maybe I'll get lucky and get a bit of Baba Yaga in one of my 3 pending orders so I can check that out for myself
  20. That's what Eternal ended up doing on my skin - it became entirely rose with the smell of fresh cut grass. So it was very much that rose with fresh green-ness in the background

    Unseelie

The wicked, malicious dark side of the Court of Faerie, Unseelie literally translates to ‘Unholy’. The Unseelie Court is ruled by Titania’s corrupted twin sister, the Queen of Air and Darkness. The Court rides the nighttime winds spreading chaos and miscief; woe be to any mortal that crosses its path. A misty, otherworldly scent laced with ethereal florals, crushed herbs and soft, dew-covered grasses. In the bottle: Herbally, soft, and....do I smell lime?? There's something slightly citrusy smelling there.... On me: This is much more...feminine and floral than I'd normally wear. But the way these scents merge with one another, it doesn't come off as a floral really, and I actually quite like it. A little powdery smelling on me, but not so much so that it ruins it. The longer it's on, the less floral I'm getting, and the more herbally I'm smelling. Final note: Someone above described this as a "juicy floral" and I think something along the lines of that, or rather "juicy herbal" is how I'd describe it. It's very soft and slightly musky even, but nice. I swear I could smell lime in there at first, but as this dries more, there's less hint of that smell.

    Three Witches

In the bottle: I know right away that I am in love with this scent. I also know right away that I am seriously sad it is discontinued. I will weep now. Powerful spice smell, sweet, warm, yummy. On me: Everything it says it is, and nothing more. Powerfully warm cinnamon and cloves, sweet yet spicey, it's positively beautiful. Final note: One of my favorites, I am going to have to track down more of this. You love cinnamon or clove, GET YOUR HANDS ON SOME.

    Eternal

In bottle: Very powerful, white floral - mostly gardenia is what I'm getting On me: This one kind of tricked me a little. It was clear that this was going to be a really floral scent, but when I first put this on, all I got was gardenia, and it was just too overwhelming to me. 10 minutes in, and I smell rose. A few minutes after that - rose and something green and fresh smelling, like fresh cut grass. The gardenia really takes a back seat to those smells now. Final note: Kind of strange, because this ended up way different than I expected. The fresh cut grass smell is sticking with me, with rose as the other predominant note and gardenia way, WAY in the back. Too floral for me, but anyone who enjoys florals, would probably get a kick out of the unique grass like smell with rose
  24. Brianne

    Thalia

In bottle: Plumeria and a bright, white smell. If I didn't know better, I'd say there were lilies in this. On me: Apparently, my chemistry hates pears, because this is the second scent I've tried with pear in it where I was unable to smell the pear. After about 5 minutes, I think I smell a slight hint of pear, something just the tiniest bit fruity. But then it's gone. Mostly just smells like floral and champagne on me. Final note: In the long run, I'm left only smelling champagne, and it's making me a bit dizzy. I don't care for this, but I think if someone's body chemistry would make the pear come out more, it could be a really lovely scent. EDIT: Half an hour later, and it's all plumeria now. Someone mentioned above that it made them think of the Bath and Body Works plumeria, and that's what I get from it too.
  25. Brianne

    Endymion

In the bottle: Lily. That's it. On me: This perfume is just one more reason I really need to just admit to myself that I should not attempt to wear scents with lily in it. Lily always seems to overwhelm any other notes on me, and I end up smelling like soap. I am not getting pear OR musk at all. Final note: As a few other people have said, I'm sure this would be lovely on someone else. But on me, it just doesn't work.
