  1. Wet: chocolate with a light floral underneath

Drydown (10 min): Still a hint of chocolate, but mostly florals...is there orange blossom in this? The florals remind me vaguely of Pele and Santo Domingo, but they're very light. Can't quite place which ones they are, but it's not rose, lilac, lavender, or lily...mebbe light vanilla, with milk?

Overall: it's okay, but nothing I want to keep.

  2. Mr Oro thinks my skin + Black Annis = curry.

I'd like to think that this makes me sound edible, but he was under the influence at the time, and probably just hungry, so I'm completely discounting his thoughts on the oil. Nontheless, I thought I'd share.

Personally, on my skin I think this smells boozy, like a bar (non-smoking) the day after the night before. Reminds me of Roadhouse and Katmandu, only not so overt. I can't say I like this. It's vaguely spicy, and the scent doesn't change much between the wet and drydown.

Off to the swaps it goes!

  3. Wet: Fir or balsam...ah, it's juniper! In any case it's sweet and green and wet. Unlike Nocnitsa, this is very warm.

Initial Drydown: Reminds me of the Yankee Candle store at Chrstmas...and that's a good thing. Without the waxy and headache inducing overtones, of course.

Drydown 2 hours: Rosie McRose. I know there are other things in here besides rosewood, but on me it's all about the rose...with a little of the lilac.

Overall: Hmm, not sure I like it, but think an imp would have sufficed.

  4. Sandalwood! But creamy and sweet and very restrained, almost a skin scent, an up-close-and-personal scent, if you like.

My skin amps sandalwood to the nth degree and I'm loving this. It makes for a great change and just goes to show you can never know when an ingredient that hasn't agreed with you before is going to sit up and say, Hey, dude, you totally can wear me. Yay for skin chemistry! :P

  5. Wet: Roses, but gentled by mandarin, lilac, and lily.

Drydown: Rosey McRose! Oh, how I love you. Tea rose isn't necessarily my friend, but the other scents tame it down and make it gorgeous and oh-so-lovely. A great scent for when you're feeling confident in your femininity.

Overall: fabu! A lovely, light, very feminine floral. :P

  6. Wet: Tiny spring flowers overhalf-frozen fields...something citrusy?

Initial drydown: Rose and lemon? Vanilla? Something soft yet spicy...

Drydown 20 mins:Becomes lovely and cool sweetness, a very outdoorsy scent.

Overall: Lovely, but gone in two hours!

  7. Oo, is there Orange Blossom in this? No? Are you sure? Mr Oro loves the scent of Eden on me, but all I can smell is the sandalwood and coconut, and a top note of bitter. It reminds me of Dana O'Shee, that same kind of creamy-soft sweetness. It's nice, but not me, I'm afraid.

  8. I can smell the rose, I can smell the cinnamon, but it's a very very very very light scent. Watery, but not aquatic, it was gone in about 20 minutes, leaving me with just a lingering scent, y'know the way perfumes smell after about 8 hours?

My bottle's fresh from the lab, though, so I'm hoping it'll prove as time goes by.

  9. Bottle: I can smell rose and 'stuff'.

Wet: Almonds, a hint of vanilla, something foody like an almond cookie, something florally powdery that I think might be the mandarin.

Drydown: 45 minutes in and it's much the same, must be the musk, amber, and sandalwood...I just want to eat my wrist! I guess I was expecting something along the lines of Morocco and Queen of Sheba, but this is more like Snake Oil gone really, really, really interesting! At the same time, this doesn't smell like Snake Oil...it's soft and sweet without being floral. In fact, I don't smell rose at all, and I lurves me some rose. This is so skillfully blended that to be honest, after a while I can't smell any individual ingredient at all - fab!

    Overall: I love this!

ETA: There's a note in here that I don't like. I'm thinking it's the saffron (don't like it in food, either), and it really reminds me of the bitterness of orange blossom. I'm not sure I'm going to keep my bottle after all.

  10. ETA: I'm not sure if this is the right forum, as I'm not sure if my bottle is Snake Charmer or House of Mirrors. Mods, help!

Wet: hmm, buttery and coconutty, like Chaste Moon but without the pineapple, or Snake Oil without the play-dough (sorry!)

Drydown: Lovely and warm, perfect for chilly weather. It gets warmer as time passes and lasts a long time, which is rare with my skin.

Overall: I love this! But I'm wondering if this is mislabled with Snake Charmer, because that smells just like the description for HoM and vice versa...

This is really Snake Charmer --Shollin

  11. Wet: smells like chewed Bazooka Joe! And I mean that in a good way! It's a bit nutty, too, but what nut I have no idea. Sweet, but not foodily so...

Me likee. Don't know if I'll buy a bottle, but I certainly like the imp!

  12. This is the kind of scent that just makes me want to laugh! It's all Bazooka Joe when wet, and on drydown becomes Bazooka Joe while sitting next to a campfire.

Honestly, it could only get better if the scent of S'mores came in to play somewhere. :P

I don't think I'll wear it again, but I love it!

  13. Wet: Leather with slight spice

Drydown If only leather actually smelled like this! It's creamy and rich and has that leather smell without the...well, I've always smelled this undertone when I've walked into leather stores, a 'newness' undertone that I just don't like. Loviatar doesn't have this, though, which makes it even more sexy.

    Keeping the imp!

  14. Wet: Roses and amber and soft goodness...yet roses aren't in this??

Drydown: Hmm, something's gone powdery, probably the amber because my skin does bad things to BPAl's amber...oh, I really, really, really want to love this...please don't go bad!

Overall: Ah, a day later and this is simply fantastic. I suspect this is a quiet scent, good for very close friends and lovers. I think a 10ml is in my future.

  15. Okay, another dumb ass question, but seeing as I made my order through Paypal instead of CCNow (because I wanted to order an imp of Bengal and it's [still] not showing up in Wanderlust) for the first time ever, will I get a an order acknowledgement from the Lab? I see my Paypal payment remains unclaimed, so...anyone know?
