    Pruno

Ahhh Pruno, another unique creation by Beth!! This is very different, but actually smells much better than I thought it would. It reminds me immediately of sangria, but definitely a strong, red sangria from an authentic Mexican restaurant. It is deep, fruity, boozy and dark, with a sprinkling of something zesty in the middle. Apples and merlot, quite a change from the norm. This is not a real strong one, and I have to be pretty close to my skin to smell it. I think I like this, it's not something I would want to wear a lot, but it's such a hilarious idea that I think I'll hold on to my bottle for awhile.

    Cancer 2007

This is very unique! After reviewing the ingredients, I realize this smells primarily of wild lettuce, sweet pea, and pear on me. There is definitely a green, leafy bite to this blend. It reminds me of a rainy day in the jungles of Florida. The sweet pea is subtle, but lovely, and is beautifully complimented by the earthiness of the greens. I like this; as I hoped I would since my hubbie and father are cancers.

    Selkie

when I first sniffed this in the bottle, I didn't think I would like it because it smelled very aquatic. After it sat on my wrist for awhile, though, it really turned into something lovely!! There is a soft, watery base, with top notes of fresh grasses, sweet florals, and something that smells very fruity to me, perhaps like a citrus or a melon. This actually reminds me a bit of Ophelia on me, very sweet, beautiful and undeniably feminine. On the dry down this smells primarily of soft roses and watery tones. This is very nice!! It has not a lot of throw, though. I like this! I'm not sure if I'll keep my whole bottle, but very nice.

    Thunder Moon

This is a very strong, deep ozone/aquatic scent. This has a ton of throw for a lunar blend, and I can smell the small amount I put on my wrist from a mile away. This is very, very masculine to me, and sort of reminds me of an expensive gentleman's cologne. There is a heady sweetness underneath the sharp ozone, a combination of the amber and the wooded notes. This is way too masculine for me, but I have a feeling the boy might like it.

    Blue Moon 2007

This is soft, sweet and feminine. It's a mish mosh of perfumey florals, with a bit of woodsy, cumcumber, herbal undertone. This smells primarily like iris and orchid on me, but it's a very powdery floral. (My skin makes a lot of florals go powdery) This has light throw on me. This is very innocent and subdued smelling; very lovely, but it's really not quite my thing. I'm sure this would be just beautiful on the right person.

Carnal Soap (by Silk Road Trading Company)

This is a very smooth, silky, yellowish white bar of soap. The fig note in this is a bit earthier than I expected, but it is very nice and clean. It has a little bit of a green, herbal bite to it when it's wet. The scent doesn't linger on my skin, but the bathroom does smell like fig for quite a while after my shower. This is a very pretty, high quality soap. (Snake Oil is still my favorite soap; Of course it is, because it costs more!!

    Leanan Sidhe

This is a sharp, soapy, clean, fresh, herbally blend. There is a strong powdery floral note that reminds me a bit of Glade air freshener. There is a bright yellow undertone, that smells of fresh air, sunshine, and grassy meadows. Surprisingly strong for a floral blend. This is unique, just not quite my thing.

    Wolf's Heart

This is a warm, red, spiced type of scent. I am immediately reminded of a dragon's blood blend. There is a cinnamon - esque undertone; with a sort of throbbing, pulsating hotness. The spices are nicely balanced by a powdery floral note, that to me smells like night blooming jasmine. This is very pretty!! It has medium throw and I predict it will be long lasting.

    51

This is very clean, bright, and perfumey; a light ozone - floral. Very innocent, feminine, reminds me of spring time. I can definitely pick out the honeydew and the freesia, and it's a lovely combination. This does smell like something you would buy at the perfume counter. This is very faint on me with almost no throw. Very pretty, but not my cup of tea.

The High Priest Not To Be Described

A deep red, spicy gentleman's blend. It smells primarily of dragon's blood and pepper, which results in a cinnmon effect. The undertones remind me of a sexy men's cologne. This is a very bold, zesty, sexy scent. Although it strikes me as masculine, I'm sure it would be lovely on either of the sexes. This doesn't have quite as much throw as many of the lab's cinnamon scents, which is just fine with me. Not quite my thing, but I bet the boy will like it.

    Gemini 2007

As a Gemini, I had very high hopes for this one. When first applied: lavender! Almost straight up lavender. Very sharp, strong, and commanding. Reminds me of a sleepy time blend. On the dry down: Geez, I don't know what happened, but some strange, sour note has worked it way to the top of the blend. Bleck! What is my skin turning sour?? The benzoin, perhaps?? Oh this is just not working on me. Boo hoo! I wanted to love it.

    Rose Moon

Ahhhh, this is ever soo lovely!! A sweet, innocent, feminine, pink rose blend. The ripe, plump pink rose note is on top, with a gorgeously smooth undertone. I can smell hints of the jasmine, honey, and a breath of the patchouli. There is a slight powderiness to the background. This is as girly as it gets!! This is a light scent, like most lunar blends are. The rose note does get very strong at first, though. This is lovely!! I love it!

    Tamamo-no-Mae

I'm not very familiar with many of the ingredients in this blend, but I will do my best to describe it. Ooooh la la, this is light, smooth, feminine, exotic, and slightly fruity. There is a soft, creamy base, with outdoorsy, herbal green middle tones, and a light, musky, floral overtone. This is very unique, very sexy, and I just love it. This is just beautiful, I am very happy to have a bottle. I wish it lasted a little longer, but this is lovely enough to re apply.

    Monster Bait: biggerCritters

Oh this is just glorious!!! A very creamy, smooth, strong vanilla base smeared over with the loveliest jasmine note. This reminds me a bit of my beloved Mata Hari. It is a very foody twist on a floral blend, and it just works perfectly. I can't decide whether I'd classify it as a vanilla blend, or a floral; it's pretty much an equal amount of both. This has quite a bit of throw and staying power, in fact I've been wearing this to work every day since I got the bottle. This is just beautiful, I love it!! I hope it's here to stay!!!

    Thirteen (13): April 2007

When I first sniffed this in the bottle, it smelled like straight up chocolate. On my skin, it actually gets very very spicy and warm. The clove and the chocolate combine to form almost a cinnamon choco effect. Very unique!! This is kind of neat, a cool twist on a chocolate blend. This is quite different from the other 13 blends, but I think the original one is still my favorite. This version, though, is certainly the strongest and has the most throw. Nice!!

    Coyote

Wow, this is fabulously unique! I have never smelled another BPAL that quite compares to this. I'm finding it a bit hard to describe. There is a gorgeously sweet, golden base of amber and the sexy essence of a man. There is an indescribable greeness to the overtones; they are fresh, clean, yet soft and sweet at the same time. I'm sorry, but the best way I can describe this is : This is what a hot guy smells like!! Love it, I'm sorry I waited so long to try it!!

    Ophelia

Gorgeous, wistful, tragic. This is a very watery floral, very serene, feminine; light blue or light green in color. This smells mostly like a watery lotus blossom on me, with a hint of sinful white rose in the background. It is very close to the skin and doesn't have a ton of throw. This is just lovely, I wish florals lasted longer on me!

    Dragon's Reverie

This is a lovely, soft, earthen incensey Dragon's Blood blend. The dragon's blood in this takes a back seat to the soft florals and the ylang ylang that are the dominant notes. The amber note is barely there, but it does give the blend a soft, almost powdery feel. This is quite soft for a dragon's blood blend, and doesn't have a lot of throw. I do like this, I think it's a very pretty scent.

    Serpent's Kiss

Whoa! This is a really REALLY strong blend!! It is very red indeed, very spicy, and very in your face. This smells mainly of dragon's blood with a very strong black pepper base. There is a bit of the vetiver that shows itself as well, but this is mainly a pepper blend. The combination of the pepper and dragon's blood smells a bit like cinnamon. Unfortunately, pepper and vetiver are two of my biggest fragrance enemies. But, I have a feeling the boy will love this.

    Bad Luck Woman Blues

Dark, complex, spicy, earthy......and oddly familiar to me. Can't put my finger on it, but this reminds me very much of something from my childhood. My first impression is black licorice; spicy, dark, at the back of the spice cupboard. The tobacco note is very strong in this, and it is an odd companion to the sweetness. At first, all I can smell in this is the tobacco, the pepper, and the caramel sweet note. On the dry down, I actually begin to smell a bit of the cologney part of this blend. I can detect an under current of lilac and lime. OOOhhh soooo manly, this Bad Luck Woman Blues!! This is a rather fascinating blend, and I have a feeling the hubbie will like it very much

    Lady Luck Blues

This is lovely, light, feminine, Springy, and floral. What a pretty floral blend!! Mainly rose and tonka on me, which is such an utterly beautiful combination. The top notes remind me a bit of Mata Hari, one of my all time favorites. This is much, much lighter though, and the more delicate florals form a very perfumey base. The peony begins to show itself a bit more as this dries down. There is almost a slight, green herbally undertone of "Springiness" This is very beautiful, and I do love rose blends. My only complaint is that this doesn't last long on me at all, and is gone in an hour or two. I think fans of Marie and Two, Five and Seven will dig this!

    Taurus 2007

This will be a quick review, because this smells like straight up mint on me. This reminds me a lot of Carpathian Mountains, but on a much weaker scale. Pretty much spearmint gum on me, boo hoo!! Not much throw on me. Not my thing, I only take my mint with vanilla (i.e. Tokyo Stomp!) A lovely scent for a mint lover, though.
  23. QueenFae

    Minotaur

Oh, a strong, deep, dark, swirling resin blend. Smokey, sort of a mish mosh of resins, but I can't really pick out individual notes. My nose is confused, because I can't decide if this is masculine or feminine, so it must be unisex. This goes quite powdery on me, and it smells a bit like amber on the dry down. I think this would be very sexy on the right man, but it just doesn't quite work on me. This is quite strong and long lasting; unfortunately, just not quite my thing.

    Monster Bait: Tokyo Stomp

Ooooooh!! Delicious!!! Definitely the perfect sweet mint scent!! I know this is a vanilla mint, but at first sniff it actually reminded me very much of those thin mint girl scout cookies. This is just glorious; seriously!! I can't believe how strong this one is, it has a ton of throw. I have a light floral on my other wrist, and I could barely smell it over the throw from my Tokyo Stomp! I'm so glad this is strong, I'm one of those people who love to be drowning in a sea of her own perfume! This is fabuloso!!! Love it, love it, wish I'd ordered another bottle!!

    Poisson d'Avril

This is a very lovely, light, feminine floral. The florals in this are beautifully blended, so it's sort of like a generalized spring bouquet scent. I think if I had to pick one, the tulips are the strongest note on me. This is a yellow/light pink scent for me, and even though the hubbie loves this, it's undeniably lady like. This doesn't have much throw at all, but most florals rally don't last at all on my skin. I think fans of Beltane will like this.
