    Doc Constantine (2006)

This one is definitely for the boys! I really like the way it smells in the bottle; it's definitely a woodsy, cedary type scent. When it goes on my skin, it smells exactly like a brand new, fresh box of #2 pencils wrapped in leather. The smokiness gives it a little bit of an edge. This is definitely not for me, but the boy might like it.

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

A dark, intriguing scent. Definitely fitting for the "misfortune" teller. The red musk is on top, followed closely behind by the vanilla bean, which gives it a sexy yet smooth feel. The patchouli leaf is a rather strong note as well, and is definitely different from just a straight patchouli note. It reminds me a bit of tobacco leaf, but I do like it. I can't smell the pomegranate or the plum at all, which is a shame because those are two of my very favorites. But, I really like this scent. It's mysterious and knock - you - out sexy.

    Midnight on the Midway (2006)

Sweet, simple, and lovely. The florals in this blend smell amazing, I think there may be some night blooming jasmine and lavendar in there. The flowers are blended so beautifully with the sweet incense notes, which are actually more on the incensey side than sugary side. The sweetness of the faint sugared note pulls everything together, and creates a sort of overall creamy floral feel to the blend as a whole. This is unique, eerie, and gorgoeus. I love it!!

    Melisande, The Puppet Mistress

A very heady, feminine, perfumey scent. The jasmine is extremely strong, and coupled with the musks notes, there is a lot of throw in this blend. I think I would like this very much if it wasn't for one of my mortal enemies; violet. The violet creeps in to darken the scent and pull all kinds of ickiness out of my skin. I can't really smell the vanilla note at all, unfortunately. Not my kind of thing, but a lovely women's blend just the same.

    Gennivre, L’Artiste du Diable

Interesting, a very complex scent! I first notice the tea leaf and the mint, so the blend has an overall herbally feel to it. There is a lovely lemon - honey undertone, and I can detect that gorgeous honey note that Beth used in Honey Moon. There is something about this one that reminds me of Snow White, like a similar undertone or something. I really like the combination of tea and honey in this; it's quite soothing. I'm no sure yet if I'll be keeping my bottle of this one, but this is a scent I might wear from time to time.

    The Candy Butcher 2006

Yay!! A new chocolate scent, this one has my name all over it. It's a delicious, dark cocoa scent, shot through with a gorgeous creamy undertone. The creaminess reminds me of the inside of a Cadbury cream egg. The cocoa note in this blend is very similar to the one in Mosterbait Underbed, one of my other BPAL obesessions. This is very much like Underbed, it just has a creamy edge instead of a coffeeish edge. I love this one, of course, and will wear it frequently! A+++!!!

    Xanthe, The Weeping Clown

I love love love this one!! I forgot what the ingredients were, and when I first smelled it, I was sure there was some kind of grape or currant berry in it. It's a very berrilicious scent, and the top notes are sort of like a combination of Titania and Jester. The undertone is a breezy, dark floral scent. The guava must be what is creating the berry bubblegum effect for me, but I really like it! Beth should put guava in more blends! This is definitely one of my favorite CD scents, I'll certainly enjoy my bottle!

    Death Cap

Wow, totally different than I expected! The top notes are warm, golden, and even somewhat buttery and foody. These are definitely the dominant notes. There is an earthy, fungusey undertone, both dirt - like and mossy. I expected the blend to smell mostly like this, but my skin really pulls the sweetness out of this one. Nice, not really my thing, but nice! (Plus, Death Caps make me think of faeries and elves which is always fun )

    F5

I truly love green tea scents, and this one is no exception. It is a very strong green tea note, and it smells almost exactly like Shanghai when first applied. It is very similar to Dragon moon and Holiday moon as well, though I had hoped for something a bit different. On the dry down, the lime, citrusey note comes out much more, and it becomes a subtle lime juice glazed over with a verbena tea note. All in all a lovely blend, just really similar to a few others I already have bottles of.

    Chrysanthemum Moon

Wow, this is STRONG! I mean, this is a knock you down, spank you on the ass, and run over you strength floral. This is definitely the strongest floral I've ever smelled from BPAL. It's a very, very perfumey scent, it reminds me of the perfume counters in department stores. I am one of those people who likes to drown in a cloud of their own perfume, but this is too much even for me. About 4 hours after I applied it, it had faded enough to be tolerable, and then actually smelled quite pleasant. Definitely not my thing, but I applaud the strength and sticking power of this blend. It was going strong 10 hours after I applied it!!

    Danube

This fragrance amazingly captures the scent of the Danube. It's a beautiful, lilac - like floral wafting over a breezy, outdoorsy fresh scent. I can definitely smell the florals above all, but the underlying aquatics are quite potent too. I normally am not into aquatics, but the ones in this blend are so clean and windy; they make me want to row down a stream on a spring day. A lovely blend!

    Dublin

This one is almost exactly like Skadi. It is a piney, frozen yet spiced scent; very sexy. My husband is Skadi addict, so it is good to know he can always replace it with Dublin. I don't particularly like this one on me, but OMG, on my man it is scrumptious. Lots of throw and great lasting power. This one really gets you noticed when you enter a room. An excellent blend for the boys.

    The Coiled Serpent

This is a really nice patchouli blend. I'm a huge patchouli fan, especially the patchouli Beth uses in her blends. This one is no exception. The patchouli is on top, and there is a wafting, woodsy, earthy note in the undertone. Perhaps a hint of sandalwood? There is also a mossy or earthen note on the very bottom, but it doesn't compromise the integrity of the gorgeous top note. I love this one, and this would be lovely on guys as well.

    Skuld

I do like all the ingredients in this one, but for some reason, the scent just doesn't agree with me. It turns into this sticky sweet, slightly fruity concotion reminescent of Vicks cough syrup. I would have sworn there was clove in there, I'm not sure which of the components is creating this effect. Definitely not my thing, but the hubbie loves it.

    Hellfire

Well, this delivers just what it promises, it smells just like a fireplace to me! I can pick out the leather note, but the backdrop is completely ashy, blackened, burnt out fireplace. There is a hint of sweetness in there someplace, but you really have to search for it. This is definitely not my kind of thing, but the boy sure loves it.

    Pannychis

This one is sort of a masculine type jasmine scent, if that makes any sense. The floral note is definitely there, but the sandalwood and frankincense dominate the undertones, so it's really more of an earthy blend to me. This isn't really my type of scent, as jasmine never lasts on me, but the boy hijacked this imp immediately and it smells quite nice on him.

    Blood Kiss

This one contains two of my enemies; clove and vetiver. It's a very sweet scent, and I can detect the vanilla and cherry desperatly trying to show themselves. Unfortunately, the throbbing clove wins out on my skin. It morphs into almost completely clove with a sticky sweet trickle of vanilla and a faint undertone of vetiver. It's a very "red" scent, of course, and I can detect the sexiness of the musks on the dry down. This one doesn't work on my skin, but the boy LOVES this one and wears it all the time. It smells amazing on him.

    Crossroads

This is lovely! I first notice the bounty of creeping florals that shade the top of this scent with dark, night skies. I think I detect some night blooming jasmine and lotus. This is a many layered scent, and on the next sniff I notice the incensey, slight smoky note. It is very dark and creeping as well. There is a dry moss undertone, that gives this blend an earthiness, and makes it slightly masculine to me. Just lovely on everyone!

    Mad Hatter

A very sharp scent indeed. To me, it's very minty fresh. A green, spirited mint note dominates, although I know there is no mint in the description. There is definitely a lemony note as well, and it floats right above the distinct lavendar undertones. This is definitely very masculine, and my husband stole this imp from me months ago. I absolutely love it on him, very sexy.

    High John the Conqueror

Oooh, a really sweet, tasty little scent. My husband stole this one from me awhile ago, and I completely forgot how much I like it. It's a very berrylicious top note, but there is a mysteriously "clean" floral undertone. It gives the scent a little bit of a kick, but it also balances really nicely with the grape candy effect. Interesting and pretty, I might have to steal this one back!

    Loviatar

Whoa, leather mania. A very heavy leather note with a spicy, cinnamon-y, red undertone. This reminds me so much of my horse showing days, clean leather over cinnamon candy. I'm definitely not into wearing leather scents, but the hubbie loves this imp and hijacked it from me immediately. It has a happy home in his imp box.

    Milk & Honey

Really interesting scent, definitely not quite what you would expect from a name like Milk and Honey. There is definitely a creamy honey note there; it's a very natural, raw honey note, not sticky sweet like the one in O. There is a refreshing citrusey/lemon note that dominates the blend. It sort of reminds me of a Lemon Drop candy coated in honey and light florals. A very nice, pleasant scent; rather invigorating.

    Hungry Ghost Moon 2006

Oooh, fruitier than I had imagined! Yum! The top note on me is definitely the grapefruit, but it's really sweet and lovely, not sour at all. The grapefruit note is nicely complimented by the gorgeous crystalline musk note, which gives it an almost effervescent feel. There is a creamy backdrop for the whole scent, which I imagine is mostly due to the smoky vanilla note. This is a really great moon! Unique, yummy, and refreshing, I love it!!

    Harvest Moon 2006

Oooo, a very complex scent, just lovely! The dominant note for me is a green/herbal, I think it's the green tea leaf. There is a sweet, pretty, fruity base, but I can't really pick out the individual berry notes; they are well blended. There is a faintly perfumey quality to this blend, and it oddly reminds me a bit of Dia de Los Muertos. On the dry down, the pomegranate and the plum start to show themselves a little more. This is a really cool Harvest Moon, I don't like it quite as much as last year's, but I will certainly enjoy wearing it. Yum!

    Ozymandias

It sounds weird, but this is exactly what my Grandmother's bathroom used to smell like. (When clean and scrubbed of course ) She must have used a potpourri that smelled like this. It's a floral, perfumey scent, definitely not what I was expecting. There is certainly a "dry air" quality to it, but the floral notes are dominant. The florals are hard to identify; sort of a generic white flower scent, but not unpleasant. I like this because it reminds me of my grandparents, who are long passed, but it's not something I would wear.
