    O

This is one of my first BPAL loves, and still one of my top ten favorite regular catalogue. This has my 3 all time favorite notes in it; I couldn't ask for anything more perfect on my skin! It's a gorgeous honey vanilla scent, soft yet bold, creamy yet a bit powdery. Definitely smells white/yellow. The amber gives this a gorgeous sophistication, and turns it from little girl to love slave. I love the honey in this blend; it's seems so much softer and sweeter than the honey in Honey Moon. My husband loves this one on me, and I wear it whenever I feel like being his little love slave. Gorgeous! Superb! Bravo!!

    Jack

This is truly the loveliest pumpkin scent I have ever sniffed! This was one of my first BPAL loves, and I use my 5 ml frequently. This a fruity/pumpkin scent, although right out of the bottle it smells really buttery. After applied, it dries down to a peachy/pumkin scent with just a hint of nutmeg in the background. My skin pulls out quite a bit of the peach, and therefore this is similar to the Pumpkin Patch scent with pomegranate. This is truly a noble tribute to one of my favorite characters, The Pumpkin King Jack. But, I also think this would be a perfect scent for Captain Jack Sparrow, from Pirates of the Carribbean. (Sorry, I'm a shameless Johnny Depp fan!! ) A gorgeous blend, I hope it never gets discontinued since it will always be in my regular catalogue 5 ml collection.

    Intrigue

This is a very sharp cocoa blend; the cocoa is very pure and bitter, like the stuff you cook with. For me, this isn't really a chocolatey/foody scent, since the cocoa is unsweetened and the woodsy notes are strong too. The fig makes for a lovely companion to the bitter cocoa, and it creates a very unique scent. The wooded notes are dark, but not overly earthy or spicy. This is a really different one, just lovely.

    Hamadryad

It's funny, I sniffed this one years ago when I first got into BPAL, but did not remember it smelling like this at all. It's so much spicier than I remember. There is definitely a cinnamon/red spice note on top. I can detect the woodsy underneath notes too, though, and I'm not getting as much mint as other people have. I would classify this as a red/brown scent and a spicy herbal. Very interesting blend, not right for me, but lovely just the same.

    Et Lux Fuit

This is one of my all time favorite amber blends! Gorgeous, just beautiful in all it's golden glory. It's so beautifully blended it is almost difficult to pick out individual notes, but I think on my skin the dominant notes are amber and ylang ylang. The florals in this blend are strong, but not overwhelmingly perfumey or powdery, and they are such a beautiful compliment to the vanilla/amber tones. It almost has a hint of bubble gum to it. This is so lovely, I cannot say enough good things about this blend. I'm soo glad I got a bottle!

    Thalia

This is a light, feminine floral with a slightly fruity undertone. The plumeria is very strong in this blend; it's bright and cheery. I can detect a hint of the pear, but it is merely a whisper of fruitiness hidden beneath the florals. I think I can pick out a bit of the white champagne as well, but it smells like more of a white musk note to me, and it's not at all boozy. This is a beautiful blend, but not a lot of throw or sticking power.

    Phobos

This smells very much like a frozen lemon ice, escpecially when it is first applied. The very strong lemon note is on top, and it reminds me a little bit of June Gloom. On the dry down, the sweet floralness of the blend comes out a bit more, and it turns into a really fresh, citrus white musk scent. The grapefruit gives it a really yummy feel. This is light and lovely, but not right for me.

    Midnight

This is a gorgeous embodiment of Midnight. It's a dark, creeping, airy bouquet of night flowers, that's for sure! It's very soft and lovely while not being completely feminine. There is a beautiful, "night creeping" effect to the whole blend; it's hard to describe but unforgettable once you've sniffed it. This is definitely one I like to wear at night; especially to bed. Lovely!

    Block Buster

This was one of my first BPAL loves, and is still a favorite of mine. It's the lovely smell of fruity, geen apples dusted in cinnamon. While it is a fruity/foody scent, it's not a bakery smell. It's definitely fresh, crispy apples. This is a yellow scent for me. I wear this when I know I'm going to have a bad day at work, or when I feel like I have a lot of goals to overcome. It makes me feel better and smells great, and I will probably always have a bottle in my posession.

    Red Devil

Hmmmm, interesting..... this smells a little bit like spicy soda pop on me, I can see the comparisons to Dr. Pepper. It's definitely a dark red/brown scent, and it's sexy and playful. There is something deep and resinous in there, like a red musk with a hint of cinnamon undertone. I can also detect some dragon's blood. This is a lovely, flirtatious little number.

    Bon Vivant

Delivers what it promises; pure, sweet, bubbly pink champagne. Just a beautiful scent; so sweet and innocent while at the same time it's very...naughty. This is the smell of strawberries and the champagne that you drink in a hot tub full of bubbles on Valentine's Day or your first wedding anniversary. Even reminds me a little bit of strawberry Boones. This was one of my first BPAL discoveries, and I still love it!

    Schwarzer Mond

Wow, first the awesomeness of Black Moon, and now it's incredible masculine counterpart. This is a knock you down sexy scent, very unique, complex, and intoxicating. I'm honestly not familiar with most of the notes, but the black amber is quite prominent. It lends a sweet, smooth feel to the whole thing. I can also detect the smokiness of the pathcouli. There is a beautiful, slightly spicy undertone to this blend, and that's what really makes it sooo sexy. I sniffed this bottle, grinned, and handed it straight to my husband. He loves it of course, and I love it on both of us.

    Black Moon

Gorgeous! Just gorgeous. This is truly a magnificent creation by Beth. I can really smell the pear note, and the fruitiness of the blend is the first thing I noticed. It has a dual floral aspect, and the floral part is sooo dark it evens out the innocence of the fruity side. I can definitley pick out lotus and an evil smelling orchid. This is so perfect for the Black Moon! Dark, seductive, and glowing. It clings close to my skin just begging to be noticed. I love it!

    Whip

Out of the bottle, this blend is almost totally red rose. This is the same beautiful red rose note as in Rose Red, so it's of course gorgeous and strong. On my skin, it's still mostly rose, but when I'm looking for it, I can detect a hint of black leather. I have always steered clear of this one since I'm not big on leather, but I would classify this as more of a rose floral than a leather scent. It's beautiful, Rose Red goes S & M!!

    Tenochtitlan

This is lighter and sweeter than I had envisioned it would be. On my skin, it's predominantly tulip poppy and amber, which is indeed a lovely combination. I suppose I would classify it as a floral, but the amber and prickly pear gives it a little hint of creaminess/foodiness. Very light and pretty, but may be nice on a guy as well. A very nice, yummy scent.

    Ode on Melancholy

At first sniff, I immediately notice the lavendar. But when applied to my skin, the rose quickly becomes the top note, and it's a lovely, pink, sweet rose note. The florals are nicely balanced with a shimmering white musk note, and this gives the blend a sexy, womanly feel The longer I wear it, the stronger the white musk note becomes. This is a beautiful blend, but its strength is fleeting, and alas, it fades quickly on me as most florals do. Very pretty just the same.

    Santo Domingo

Reminds me of a classy bar. The tobacco is on top, and it's a sweet tobacco note, sort of like the expensive pipe tobacco you smell in a smoke shop. The rum is next, just under the tobacco but strong enough for me to classify this as a rather boozy scent. Although the florals are a lovely undertone, and they are very tropical smelling, this scent still strikes me as a bit masculine. There is not a lot of throw with this one. A nice scent, but not my kind of thing.

    The Organ Grinder (2006)

I want to like this one sooo much! When I put this on my skin, I can smell this glorious, milky vanilla scent that is absolutely intoxicating. Unfortunately, the tobacco smoke is so strong on me that it spoils the lovely milkiness of the scent for me. If I could only delete that one note, this would probably be one of my favorites of all time, I just can't get past the pipe store note. I think on the right person, most likely a man, this would be gorgeous. It just hates my skin. I really like the almond milk note, and I hope Beth uses it in more blends in the future.

    Pulcinella & Teresina

Labdanum, cedar, teak and red rose. Whoa! This is a strong, sharp scent. At first sniff I immediately notice the strong cedar note and the backdrop of the rose. I'm not sure what labdanum and teak smell like, but I don't think I like them! This reminds me of a chemical smell; like something you would cure wood with. It's very strong and has a lot of throw, so I think people that like strong woodsy scents would like this. Definitely not for me, oh well. I loved almost all the other CD scents, so I'm still glad I bought the series.

    Carnaval Diabolique

Ooooh la la, me likie some Carnaval Diabolique! This is a gorgeous scent, and the description reads like gold for my skin chemistry. Although I'm not usually big on lemony scents, this is predominanatly lemon on me. It's very complex though, and the vanilla and coconut really give this sweet wonderful undertone to the lemon note. It's sort of like Lemon Heads candy with a coconut hint. The opium smoke gives it a sexy, mysterious feel, and turns it from a little girl's scent to a woman's scent. I'm not sure if apricot flower smells at all like straight apricot, but there is a second fruity note in there somewhere. This is great! I love it!

    Theodosius, The Legerdemain

This smells wonderful in the bottle; ultra yummy vanilla. It doesn't smell quite as good on my skin. I could've sworn there was a leather note in here, weird, huh? I don't know what white fogere is, maybe that's what is creating the musky weird note. The vanilla is still there, and creates a subtle, creamy undertone. The tea leaves gives this blend a little bit of an herbally feel. This would probably work best on a guy, the boy wears vanilla well, maybe he'll like it.

    Antonino, The Carny Talker

A gloriously refreshing lemon scent. The lavendar, fig and verbena combine to form a sharp top note. I really like the combination of fig with lemon, and I love the fig note Beth uses (it's the same one as Eden). The lavendar helps to powder down the lemon note a little and make it more inviting. I thankfully cannot smell the vetiver at all, as that note really disagrees with me. But I do wish I could smell the coconut more. On the dry down, the fig becomes even stronger with a hint lemon sugar in the background. This is a gorgeously complex blend, and I love it on both me and my husband.

    The Phantom Calliope

Yummmm, dark, spooky, fizzy black cherry! It's fruity and evervescent and delicious. I can smell a little of the patchouli, but it's not a prominant note in the blend. There is a sweet, lovely floralish undertone which I'm assuming is the verbena note. This reminds me of drinking a black cherry ice cream soda in a hippie's kitchen. I like it very much, and I will certainly enjoy using my 5 ml.

    Gingerbread Poppet

Gingerbread Poppet '04 This is a true gingerbread scent, just like it smells when it comes out of the oven. It's very heavily cinnamon, but the sugary side of it balances nicely. This is actually very very close to the original Sugar Cookie (not the re released one that smells like baking vanilla) and I'm not surprised that the next Sugar Cookie smelled completely different. Ging. Poppet is a great scent, and perfect for foody lovers that like cinnamon scents. It has a lot of throw and sticking power as well, which is always a bonus.

    Samhain

Samhain '04 I had such high hopes for Samhain, but it just didn't work out for me. Clove is one of my mortal enemies, and the clove just overwhelmed all the other notes in this blend. I would get a glimpse of the lovely, apples and spice fall scent that was trying to come out, but the clove would just immediatly stomp on it. In spite of my skin chemistry, this is a lovely scent for autumn and I can see how it would be lovely on the right person.
