  1. Wet in imp- Aquatic air but no leather or spice.

Wet on skin - More musk with the salty air.

Dry on skin - Wow, the leather has come in to mingle with the musk. A little aquatic notes in the background and the barest hint of spice. This is a very manly oil. If I met someone wearing this I'd be hard pressed to stop myself from jumping them.

  2. Wet in imp- Frankincense, rosemary and lavender. Very fresh and herbal.

Wet on skin - The rosemary and lavender and quite strong, with the frankincense moving to the background.

Dry on skin - Frankincense and lavender. It's a little too fresh for me.

  3. Wet in imp - Yummy fir, night air and moss. Fresh and light without smelling of pine sol.

Wet on skin - Smells like a christmas tree, with moss and a little airy scent.

Dry on skin - The fir is first and foremost, but without that pine-sol scent that sometimes comes with pine/fir scents. There is a light airiness and a bit of damp. I'm not sure if I want to smell like a forest, however. I think this would be great in an oil burner.

  4. Wet in imp- Yummmm, I smell the hazelnut, rum, buttercream and almond.

Wet on skin - Strong rum, hazelnut and almond. Less foodie on skin.

Dry on skin - Bummer, this smells like I spilled Amaretto on myself. It's almost masculine. This smelled so delicious in the bottle!

  5. Wet in imp - fresh, icy, lemony, ozone & vetiver.

Wet on skin - less of a lemon flavor. Smells more “bright” than I would expect.

Dry on skin - after a frightening interlude of soapiness, this has faded considerably to a light airy rain scent, with underlying ozone and vetiver. Much fainter than other BPAL oils I have tried.

  6. Wet in imp - Aquatic notes and a fresh sweetness. The freshness is not too overwhelming. There are also some heavy blooms.

Wet on skin - The aquatic notes have taken over and there is a sweet/sour undercurrent.

Dry on skin - The aquatic notes are foremost, but the swam blooms have come up underneath in a pleasing way. Very light and fresh. Little wood or swampy smell.

  7. Wet in imp - Banana and some tropical blooms.

Wet on skin - Banana and flowers and a light freshness, perhaps like a sparkling lagoon. There is a tiny undercurrent of sunscreen, but it is not unpleasant.

Dry on skin - mostly fresh, humid smelling blossoms, an undercurrent of bananas and faint wood--the narra.

  8. Wet in imp - Cedarwood an olive leaf. Fresh and woody.

Wet on skin - Cedarwood and olive leaf with an undertone of something else, maybe the raspberry leaf. I’m not sure if this smells like perfume per se, it might be better in an oil burner.

Dry on skin - Cedarwood with olive and raspberry leaf. Very light and unusual. I actually really like this as a perfume, as well as an oil burn!

  9. Wet in imp - Patchouli, musk and vanilla.

Wet on skin - Patchouli, musk and baby powder.

Dry on skin - Same as wet on skin, except the vanilla has faded and the baby powder, musk and patchouli are more noticable. Not a fan.

  10. Wet in imp - I get no wood, just the floral scents - rose, lilac and soap.

Wet on skin - Maybe a little bit of the teak, but still a soapy baby power rose lilac smell. Urgh.

Dry on skin - Rose lilac and a generic cheap cologne scent. This just isn't for me.

  11. Wet in imp - Amber, lavender and a hint of moss. It smells a little like old lady perfume to me.

Wet on skin - Very similar to in the bottle, although the old ladiness is even more amped up.

Dry on skin - A more pleasant amber/lavender scent, but to me this still smells like what my grandmother used to wear. leiadrioss mentioned "generically cologne" and I feel the same way.

    ADDED 2/20/10:

Wet in the imp and on my skin, this is a super masculine blend. The amber and the mosses are really strong her and it's definitely a cologne type of scent. After about two hours, the carnation and lavender have come out to play and the amber/mosses are quieter. It's definitely still masculine however, so off to the swap pile it goes. I think if I had a boyfriend, I'd definitely try this on him!

  12. Wet in imp - Definitely get the green tea and some other herbal scents. No Moss, ginger or fig.

Wet on skin - More herbal scent, blending nicely with the green tea.

Dry on skin - Green tea, faint herbal underlay, a touch of ginger. No moss. Very tasty smelling, but similar to an existing cologne I have, so I'll just keep this imp for future reference.

  13. Wet in imp - Lavender for sure, lotus is the 2nd note with a tiny bit of spice.

Wet on skin - Less lavender than I was hoping and more lotus.

Dry on skin - Very light lavender, but mostly lotus. Pass for me.

  14. Wet in imp - Pear, soap and something sour.

Wet on skin - The pear has faded, I get the lily of the valley and still this soapy power smell. The odd sour smell is gone.

Dry on skin - Light pear, lily of the valley, faint rose, white musk -- all the elements of there and they combine to smell slightly soapy.

  15. Wet in imp - Definitely get the green tea and lemon verbena, honeysuckle is very faint but still there.

Wet on skin - very similar to in the bottle.

Dry on skin - Mellowed a little, the green tea is not as sharp and is blending better with the honeysuckle and lemon verbena. I love it, but I have a very similar existing cologne, so I will hang on to this imp and maybe get a bottle down the line.

  16. Wet in imp - Fruity and sweet. Mostly blood currant and wild berries. Faint undercurrent of wine.

Wet on skin - Still fruity, but I can sense more of the wine.

Dry on skin. - Blood currant and wild berries very strong, but the wine does temper it a little bit. I do smell a little licorice, not sure how that snuck in there. I think it's still too fruity for me.

  17. Wet in imp - First whiff seems unpleasant, but now I get some of the cassia, hibiscus and musk rose.

Wet on skin - Mostly cassia, hibiscus and musk rose, something else I can't identify but it doesn't appeal to me.

Dry on skin - Fading to a kind of soapy rose musk. Just not for me, I think.

  18. Wet in imp - I definitely smell the vanilla, but am having trouble placing the “dragon’s blood” scent”

Wet on skin - vanilla and a soapy smell. Disappointing, I hope the soap goes away.

Dry on skin - No soap, lots of vanilla with a faintly resinous and cherry undertone. Delicious. Definitely foodie, but the dragon's blood tempers the vanilla and keeps it from being too sugar-sweet.

  19. Wet in imp - Smells like a pine spice chest--cinnamon and clove are strong. Dry and spicy.

Wet on skin - more cinnamon and tea leaf with the same dry, spicy scent.

Dry on skin - Still smells like a spice chest. Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, all strong and spicy. Very light sandalwood also. Not sweet and foodie at all.

  20. Wet in bottle - Definitely golden incense, floral, and "fae mist".

Wet on skin - Less incense, more floral and fae mist. Not much wet green grace, lavender or sugared candies.

Dry on skin - A sweet and flirty floral with a more complicated undercurrent. Some more of the lavender, exotic sugared candies and fae mist. A tiny bit of golden incense, but I don't get a heavy resinous scent from this. I like this one. :P
