  1. This was a somewhat sweet, lemony floral in the bottle. When I first apply it, it is sweeter, definitely with a citrus tang to it. Sadly, it fades into something that vaguely resembles Mr. Clean, which my mother used to make me use to scrub baseboards, which makes me think of getting up early to do housework. Oh well.

  2. I got this as a freebie, which is fun since I'm hesitant to try the VB's because the ingredients are not listed.

This one is interesting. It smells like lemon icing and musk in the bottle. On my skin, the musk comes out more and might there be some sandalwood skulking about? It's kind of lemony, but it's not that strong. After about 10 minutes I can definitely smell the sandalwood and it smells a little green and a little powdery. Even later, it has turned to baby powder. Blech. Maybe there's frankincense in there?

  3. A gentle, healing love blend, often used to help mend a broken heart. Brings peace of mind, soothes the sting of loss, and aids in finding closure.

This smelled like a cleaner version of La Petite Mort to me. I think I smell mandarin and/or lavender--all very clean floral notes.
On my skin, I can def. smell mandarin or something similar. It's very strong. The scent doesn't really change as it fades on my skin.

  4. In the bottle: so minty...like peppermint but not sweet like the candy. It's a little overwhelming. I got a bit on my thumb when I took a sniff, and that was enough. All I can smell is a sharp mint. There may be a hint of floral underneath, but the mint is so strong that you can barely detect it.

  5. In the bottle, I smell the geranium and mandarin with a hint of fruity-sweetness behind it, which is the dragon's blood, I believe. On my skin, the florals take over and I can barely smell the dragon's blood. It's very clean with a slight spiciness underneath.

  6. So something really bad happened.

My mother spilled this all over herself when we were trying it.

I gave myself a break and went back to it. It smells very clean, almost like pine. It's very sharp to my nose. Once I get it on me, the lilies are so powerful I have to wash it off. Sadness.

  7. Wow. Queen Mab rules.

I was expecting more a more floral scent in the bottle, but the sandalwood gives everything a "dark" note. It almost smells like a less-sweet version of Snake Oil.

On my skin...oh, it is a lot like Snake Oil. I really love it and the rose is not at all powdery. Snake Oil is sometimes a little too sweet in the hot humid South and Queen Mab is a nice substitution.

  8. In the bottle this smells dark, nutty and spicy. It smells rather masculine to me, but then again I like sweet and spicy scents. On my skin, it softens and there seem to be some florals popping up in the background. It's nice and earthy. After a few hours, it smells pretty faint, but more like fresh dirt, which I love. Silk Road is a nice autumn scent. It's not something I'd normally try, but it's a keeper.

  9. I am having a run of bpal luck...I FIANLLY found a rose that doesn't go powdery! This perfume actually smells the same in the bottle and on my skin. I adore it. The rose and moonflower combine to smell floral and sweet without being too much, if that makes any sense. I think the "dew" flavor keeps it a little clean. I have been bathing in this since I got it. Snake oil is getting jealous. :P

  10. I love this. The pomegranate is sweet without being too fruity and blends well with the vanilla. Dry, it smells a little incense-y, which I normally don't like, but it's very subtle. I smell soft vanilla, pomegranate and currant with a little bit of the amber...so yummy! The strength of the scent fades fast initially, but then lingers very softly for most of the day.

  11. This scent morphed on me so many times. It smelled like lemon and tea with a little bit of sweetness in the bottle.

On my skin, it changed from tea to a clean scent (the linen?) and then onto a clean vanilla smell, which morphed into a creamy tea smell. I can't make this one out. It seriously smells like several different fragrances. I'm going to experiment with this one. Def. one to try as a room fragrance.

  12. I really love this scent. It's light and floral; the closest thing to a skin scent that I've found with bpal. It's so light. All the notes balance each other out. It is simultaneously woodsy, floral, sweet...without being overpowering.

It faded pretty quickly on my skin, so this is a slatherer. I'm also going to try this as a room scent. It's a keeper.

  13. In bottle: Leather, leather, leather. Bergamot underneath. I really like this. It smells very masculine.

Wet: Still leather, the bergamot is, I think, giving it an herby tone. The lemon comes through more.

Dry: Umm, this smells like Old Spice on me. I hate that. It's too perfume-y. But a little later, this "OS" affect dies down and the scent of leather and bergamot come through.

Jury's still out on this one.

  14. In bottle: I have been dying to try this. All apple blossoms and honey...it smells soooo good.

Wet: very sweet, but florally and not foody. I'm not sure how to describe it. It smells like apples and honey. The ylang ylang is very faint and the rose keeps it from being too foody.

Dry: More ylang ylang...the rose comes out more, almost powdery. After a bit, the rose is still pretty strong, but I can smells the other notes in the background. I really like it.

Later, I layered this with Skuld and it was lovely. The powdery-ness of the rose was toned down and the extra shot of honey brings out the apple blossom more. I love it love it love it!!!!

  15. In bottle: I can smell each note individually and they blend together very well. The vanilla is definitely there, but not overpowering and not foody.

Wet: Gardenia is pretty strong on me, but I like it and I know it will fade a bit. I can still smell the vanilla. I'm not sure what violet smells like on me, but so far I really like this.

Dry: This scent turned into sweet grassiness on my skin. What I think is violet comes out more. The vanilla is very very faint. The scent is light...I need to apply more. I'm keeping this one around for a bit.

  16. In bottle:Mint and lime, with herbs in the background. I've never smelled anything quite like this.

Wet: Lavender comes out more. The lime is very strong on me...not sure about this.

Dry: All lime and lavender, neither of which work on me. The lime smells like some sort of antiseptic. The scent was very light. On me the scent was rather sharp. I don't think I get along with citrus scents.

  17. I love this so much and I am unsure how to describe it.

In the bottle, I smell mint and milk/vanilla. It's not foody and very light.

On my skin, the mint is rather faint and does little more than tone down the sweetness. A light floral note (kinda like lotus or orchid??) comes out. I really love this.

After an hour or so, it smells more milky and maybe a bit like coconut. It makes me think of the beach. Still a light floral underneath. The layers are complex.

Good thing I got two bottles. This will be soooooooo good as a lotion, shower gel, and/or shampoo.

  18. I got this in a swap and I am sooo glad.

It smells like yummy chocolate in the bottle.

On my skin, it seriously smells like brownie batter...I want to eat my arm. I think it's a little too sweet to wear all the time (it was VERY strong on me for several hours) but I can think of a few things that I want to try to layer it with, so I'm keeping it!!

It made my mouth water. No kidding. My mouth is watering right now while I'm typing this. :P

  19. In Bottle: This was a freebie from the lab that I never would have tried on my own. The roses are light and non-powdery. The orchid smells sweet, but the labdanum keeps it from being too florally.

Wet: I really like this! It's a light floral. Orchid is my friend. I was worried that the roses would turn to powder on me, but they are hanging in there, in the background.

Dry: All of the notes blend together wonderfully on my skin. It's light--almost too light. I guess I'll have to slather. I'm hanging on to this imp. I also think this would be a good room fragrance (and I hate it when my house smells like flowers).

  20. In Bottle: I can smell all of the notes individually. I have never worn anything with mint in it. It smells interesting...the sweetness of the lotus tones down the mint and juniper. I really like juniper--it's a sweet herbal.

Wet: The mint note comes out very strong. It smells a little like sweet mint candy. The juniper is very faint.

Dry: This scent was very light. The juniper and lotus come out more and the mint fades into the background. I really like this, but it's too light and I'm not sure about the mint on me. I think it would be a really good room fragrance, though.

  21. In Bottle: This is sweet and spicy. It smells almost a little fruity in the bottle (maybe like apple?). I like this so far.

Wet: I can smell the fruity-ness, but I also smell cinnamon, who is not my friend at all.

Dry: Sadly, the cinnamon is the dominant note on me in this oil. I can't handle smelling like red hots, which is always what happens with cinnamon.

  22. In Bottle: The rosemary is very strong--woodsy, even. The rose is faint and not powdery. I can't really smell the orange blossom at first.

Wet: The rosemary is dominant on my skin and the woodsy scent comes out more. I can smell the rose hiding underneath. I wish it was stronger.

Dry: On the dry-down, the orange blossom comes out from under the rosemary and it is a very sharp smell. Orange blossom doesn't work on me and the rosemary is just too strong. Something about my body chem amps up the smell. It lasted a long time.

  23. In the bottle: It smells rather creamy, but not foody. I can smell the cherries a little bit, but it's not very strong. The red wine note adds a pleasing bite with the sweetness. The musk is bold without being overpowering. I like it so far.

Wet: The clove is dominant on my skin. I'm not sure what the base note is. It might be the vetiver, I've never smelled it before.

Dry: This scent faded rather quickly. The honey was stronger on the dry-down, but overall the scent was too light, I think. I also didn't like how long the clove lingered.

edited because I cannot format to save my life.

  24. In Bottle: Very sweet. I like the dragon's blood, but the honey and vanilla are a little too sweet. But I love vanilla!?!

Wet: It is softer on. The honey takes a back seat the dragon's blood gets pretty sweet on my skin.

Dry: It smells kind of like candy. Maybe a little too sweet. It also fades rather quickly--so fast that I feel that I can't get a good feel for the dry scent since I have to slather on more. I think I'll try other stuff with DB in it, though.
