    La Petite Mort

In Bottle: This is not what I expected. It's more floral. Hmmm. I can smell the ylang ylang underneath it all. Wet: This scent is very light. I like it. It's still more florally than I expected, but the ylang ylang comes out more. Dry: Sadly, this fragrance did not last very long, despite my constant slathering. It is a nice light springtime scent. To be honest, I thought it would smell the way Hetairae smelled on me--more "damp skin." I wish it had more staying power.

    Wrath

In Bottle: I can smell the dragon's blood and the pepper. I like it so far. Sweet and spicy. I'm beginning to like this dragon's blood. Wet: It smells like a spicier version of dragon's milk (tested the other day). I like the clove; it tempers the sweetness along with the pepper. Dry: Sadly, the cinnamon note became very strong and dominated everything else. I just can't wear cinnamon at all, I have discovered. It smells like candy red hots.

    Hetairae

In Bottle: This smells like a darker version of Skuld for me...probably due to the ylang ylang/honey combo (which I love a whole whole lot). Wet: Wow, this is powerful. It is spicy and kind of naughty. The patchouli darkens it nicely--and I don't normally like patchouli at all. It might be a little too strong for me if it doesn't fade a bit. Dry: Okay, this was odd. On the initial dry-down, it smelled a lot like Skuld + patchouli...not different enough to make me stray from my original favorite. This scent lasted a full 24 hours and smelled completely different the morning after! I've tried this a few times and get the same affect every time. The fig emerges as a very strong note. This perfume smells like naughtiness. I kinda like it...but too strong to wear very often. I think I'll stick with Skuld for now.

    O

In Bottle: Very very sweet, without being foody. I like the vanilla and the faint honey. Amber deepens it a little. Wet: This is very sweet on my skin. It smells similar to Skuld, but sweeter. I like it so far, but I hope it fades a little. Dry: Too sweet, I think. Since I've already found Skuld, I think I'll stick with it. They are very similar, O being a little sweeter. It would maybe make a good car scent.

    Debauchery

In Bottle: This is a wonderful musky scent. Kind of heavy, but light enough for me. It's something I wold wear in the winter. Wet: It's definitely strong. I really like the opium and musk. I'm not familiar with civet, but it seems to add depth. Dry: Oh, no, no, no. On the dry-down it starts smelling like whatever my granddad used to wear. Very musky-cologne-y. I do not dig it. On the upside (for those of you who like it), it has good staying power.

    Delight

In Bottle: This fragrance is sweet (the frangipani) and I can smell the jasmine. I think I might like this floral! I'm a fan of tuberose. Wet: Jasmine dominates the other flowers is this blend. It is pretty strong at first. Hopefully it will fade a bit and the sweetness will re-emerge. Dry: Sadly, the jasmine remains the dominant note. It's too clean smelling for me. I guess I know what to start staying away from.

    Belle Époque

"The Pretty Era", France’s Golden Time: an age of beauty, innovation and peace in France that lasted from the 19th Century through the first World War and gave birth to the cabaret, the cancan, and the cinema as well as the Impressionist and Art Nouveau movements. Sweet opium, Lily of the Valley, vanilla, mandarin and red sandalwood. In Bottle: This scent is pretty sweet, undercut by the sharpness of mandarin. Wet: Mandarin dominates my skin, with the lily coming out. The sandalwood is prevalent as well. The sweetness is not so strong on my skin. Dry: Mandarin does not work on me, sadly. Neither does the lily. I can't smell the vanilla at all. But it did last a fairly long time and became rather faint. It smells really good on my friend (how I wanted it to smell on me!)

    Kuang Shi

In Bottle: The sharp scent of mandarin is softened a little by the mango. I can smell the sandalwood as well. Wet: Mandarin does not seem to be my friend. The mango is not so noticeable on me, but the sandalwood is still there. Dry: Sandalwood doesn't seem to work on me unless there is a "sweet" scent to go along with it. Mandarin smells very clean an florally on me--I've never been a fan of clean and floral. The scent faded a lot within the first hour and then barely lingered through the second hour.

    Hollywood Babylon

In Bottle: This fragrance smells sweet in the bottle; only a little musk detected. The cherries are strong. No trace of strawberries, sadly. Wet: The cherries take over everything else. It smells very sweet and fruity. The musk is very faint on my skin. Dry: The musk comes out a little more, but cherries still dominate my skin, sweetened by the vanilla. It's a little too much for me. I was so looking forward to the strawberries, which never emerged on me.

    Namaste

In Bottle: The rose and citrus notes are pretty strong. It definitely wakes you up. Wet: The lemongrass is really pronounced on my skin. but the woodsy scents soften it a little. Dry: The rose comes out more one the dry-own. The jasmine has come out too...it's a little too sharp for me. I like the smell better in the bottle. It would make a good shower gel fragrance. It's a little too woodsy/lemony for me.

    Snake Oil

This is my favorite so far. In the bottle, I can smell the spices and it is faintly sweet. On my skin, the vanilla and sugar come out more. The vanilla is perfect--yummy without being too foody. I was worried that there would be a cinnamon note in this, but the spices are warm without being overpowering. Snake oil has really good staying power. A big bottle in my next order.

    Queen of Sheba

The almond is a little too concentrated for me...and it smells like play-doh on my skin. I can smell the spices better if I roll the imp before I open it but they fade rather quickly on me. It has pretty good staying power, though.

    Xiuhtecuhtli

In bottle: It smells like the description...I can definitely detect the plumeria. Very sweet, but not overpowering. A very sweet forumite threw this in with my order!! Wet: Uh oh...I've smelled this before and I did not like it. On me it smells like the perfume Angel, which I still can't stand because of a European au-pere that I used to know that dowsed herself in Angel instead of bathing. This went on for three months It took two weeks to air out her smell from the house. No kidding. But I digress... Dry: It didn't get any better. Sad. I don't think that my skin gets along with plumeria very well anyway. Not that everyone here hasn't already commented upon this, but I love how vividly scents brings back old memories.

    Magus

In bottle: I can smell the frankincense and sandalwood...a nice combo in the bottle, but I have a feeling about how this will go on my skin. Wet: I like the sandalwood mixed with the sweetness of the frankincense. Better enjoy it now because... Dry:...frankincense always turns into baby powder on my skin and sandalwood always smells pretty sweet once it dries on me. The combo of the two on the dry-down is overpowering. Luckily my best friend likes it a whole bunch.

    Incantation

In bottle: Very woodsy with a sharp drop of lemon. It reminds me of the men's cologne I used to wear in high school. Wet: I can distinctly smell the woods and lemon--very much like it was in the bottle. Dry: The scent dries with a sweeter note in it, but I can still detect the lemon and a bit of musk. The sweetness is probably the sandalwood on my skin. I got out of my woodsy phase some time ago, but this scent brings back memories for sure.

    Sophia

The Gnostic goddess of Wisdom. A solemn, deeply profound draught of lavender, soft musks, star jasmine, black rose, delphinium, and gentle spice. In bottle: Rose and Jasmine, a touch of musk and the undercurrent of spice...not bad Wet: the lavendar has come out more, mingling with the other florals. The musk is far less pronounced on my skin. Dry: not one of my favorites, but I like it. It's very light and a little sweet, but not too sweet. It has a long staying power without being overwhelming.

    Skuld

In bottle: Yummy yummy honey. If I roll the bottle before opening it, the spices come out wonderfully. Honey always smells very sexual to me, sweet with a little bit of naughty. And I do love ylang ylang so. Wet: Oh Skuld, I love you so very much on my skin. You smell like spicy honey and you make me want run away to the beach. The combo of ylang ylang and honey is amazing. Dry: Hubby's not so hot on this...but he doesn't always get a vote in how I smell ...especially when I love it as much as I love this scent. Spicy honey with good staying power. Sometimes I put it on before bed just so I can smell it all night.

    Kali

In bottle: It smells really sweet, but I can smell the tobacco underneath. It's interesting. I've never smelled anything like it! Wet: Super sweet, a little like cotton candy. I can't smell the tobacco anymore. What is that flower that smells so sweet? Dry: Overwhelmingly like cotton candy. Ick. I had to wash this off in a hurry. My friend tried it and it smells softer, with more of the tobacco and chocolate. Sigh...

    Queen Gertrude

In bottle: Lovely...it smells a lot like the perfume Cabotine, but waaaay better Wet: I love the sweet grassiness of this scent. Definitely a good one for the spring. Dry: It still smells wonderful!! Sweet sunshine and fresh spring grass, with just the right amount of floral. My only regret is that is doesn't linger as long as I would like. A winner, to be shared my friend who wore Cabotine for 3 years.

    Jabberwocky

In bottle: I can smell each note separately and I like the combo. It reminds me of going to the Redwood Forest when I was little. Wet: Definitely pine in there...but not overpowering. It's softened by the frankincense and orange. There's just a hint of eucalyptus in my nose. Dry: Stupid, stupid frankincense...why do you have to ruin it all with your baby powder reaction to my body chemistry??? This scent did disappear rather quickly on me.

    Hellcat

In bottle: woooo...I smell the buttery alcoholic sweetness. Kind of spicy. My mouth is watering for Tortuga Rum Cake. Wet: Hellcat smells rather alcoholic on me. The sweetness isn't so strong as it was in the bottle. Dry: The sweetness came out more in the dry-down, but a strong cinnamon note emerged and I don't do cinnamon. On a more positive note, my best friend dug it, so she is the proud new owner of this little imp. It smells sweet and foody on her, which it what I was hoping it would smell like on me!

    Danse Macabre

In Bottle: it smells like incense and woods. I'm digging it. Wet: uh oh...frankincense...I forgot how strong it is on me. But the woodsy scent is still there. Dry: Frankincense smells like baby powder on me an it overpowers every other note. So sad. I guess I know what to stay away from now.

    Lampades

In bottle:: it smells musky for sure...I don't get a distinct cranberry note, but the mixture of the cranberry and ginger gives me a citrusy undertone Wet: I can smell the ginger and the musk...not so sure about this. I'm not a huge fan of ginger anywhere other than in my curry. Dry: This smells very chemical-y on me...a little like a mild disinfectant. Hubby wrinkled his nose at it. Oh well. I wasn't sure if I'd like it anyway, but I thought I'd be a sport and give it a try.
