    Yew-Trees

Piercingly sweet berries over evergreen boughs, deepened by the tree’s sacred wood. Yew Trees is really, really strong evergreen as the top note, with just faint whispers of other things. Mid-way, it's a better balance of evergreen and some woody/nutty vibe going on. Then base notes it reminds me vaguely of tonka, just not as creamy. I don't know what it is, but it's a lot like miskatonic U. was too. Must be the "wood" note used. Which is lovely, but the evergreen was too much for me. If there were berries in this, they only slightly sweetened the wood which probably gave it that sweeter tonka vibe to me. It lasted a while, and each step of the aging on skin really changed from point to point. But, I guess I'm just not an evergreen fan, in any form.

    Delirium

This smells like lemon pledge at first, but then quickly the lemon turns into a dusty rose lemon. It turned into this floral clean fresh light airy sort of thing. Somehow the apple got lost on me. It's very clean-sheets kind of vibe, but a tad too floral-y amp'dness. Roses don't tend to go "powdery" on me, but I'm picky with my florals so I guess it was bound to happen eventually. It's nice, but nothing that amazes me. It had nice throw, and lasted for most of the day, though. Uncommon for lighter scents.

"So, Vetiver" said I, staring at the imp with my toothpick ready. "You'll behave, yes? There's clove, honey, wines, vanilla.... I must try you. But you, YOU vetiver..." And I commenced my toothpick trial. Success. Vetiver is a note that I dislike, greatly, so far. It always seems to be paired up with myrrh, and smells like mildewy basement. Something leaking, something moldy, something crawly. Yuck. But here! Vetiver I don't know what mask you wear, but you're divine in this. The tang blends into the wines, the cherries get amped on your tail. The honey musky cloves of deliciousness turn mildewy basement stank into delicious food stank. Some people reported a smokeyness to this, but I don't really get a cig. vibe from it. Musky, sure. Maybe a bit post-sex, even. but not exactly smokey or incensey or anything. Just heavy. Yeah, post-sex. I'm a fan of this one. It's dark, wicked, sexy, and really lives up to its name. Yum. Nice throw, nice endurance, what a winner.

The carnation note fresh on skin reminded me of some spicier versions of rose I've come across, kind of odd. Plum didn't really take a forefront for me. About an hour in, I started noticing more plum, but it just really added a touch of fruit to the gentle floral. It was mostly musk and floral, and soothing in a way, but not one I think I would wear often, despite having high hopes. It had lovely throw, and stayed around a good while too. A lot of these softer, more floral scents just sort of vanish. Nice strong base notes here. nomnom.

    Malediction

Just tried this out for the sake of trying it out. I'm a huge huge patchouli lover, I could swim in it... but I really despise vetiver. Everytime I come across it I just think old basement, and it fails. In this? Vetiver is sharp, musty, and just that note that makes me cringe a little. Which is like hating oranges and getting upset orange juice tastes bad, my own fault. But this is a strong vetiver to me, with an earthier patchouli than some, not a sweet or twiggy patchouli. More... dusty. On the right person this may go well, but vetiver always has such a bite to my nose, that "mellows" out into mildewy basement. o_O Then again I've never smelled it on someone else, could just go badly with my skin in general. Yuck, in any case. General vibe, prejudice aside- I think of Se7en, for some reason. Darkness, and any sexuality from that darkness is pure sin and somehow corrupt. Not a scent I'd want to wear, but I could see it working for some.

Ah, if only this stayed as minty as it was fresh out of the vial. It was a perfect mint, to me. Fresh, herbal, and really lovely. But it does die down, and rather quickly, into just a wet rose scent. It's still lovely, but has more floral from those others flowers I know nothing about, than I had hoped for reading over the notes. It is lovely, and if I passed someone wearing this (Because it has nice throw) I'd consider complementing. It's just a bit too bright and floral for me. but if that mint had stayed... id really have loved it.

    Giallo

In the imp I found this scent really unappealing and almost passed on testing it at all. It was dark, musky, and sort of basement/garage smell going on. Not really all that great. But the moment I put it on skin it lightened up a lot, well in a sinister way. I'm a big fan of a lot of the notes in this, but jasmine was my largest worry. I tend to dislike jasmine, as a smell in general. However, have found "night blooming" jasmine is less intense, softer, and somehow bareable. I can detect it in this because I'm a phobe, but it's not misbehaving. Ah that that mimosa note is in this too. I really enjoy it, it's tangy, tart, and just a lot of fun. But in this, it adds the sharpness to the killers blade. It's also a tad smokey, but not campfire-smoke. It's not really intense at all, but has a sort of grit to it, like how bars get a coating of smoke lingering even after everyone is gone. Benzoin and vanilla add a light sweetness in the background, but it clashes against the tarter notes in a bizarre way. I hate then like then love then hate this scent. It's such a strange one, with so much going on! But the general vibe of the whole thing? A smoking hippy with a vanilla ice cream cone, on a cold winter day. o_o

Whoa. In the imp this is exactly as described. Lavender, spiced. (No idea what lotus smells like, though o_o) Wet on skin? bubblegum. Seriously. Juicy, sweet, and a little tangy. Lavender is still there, but it sort of gets lost in the odd combo. In my brain, I say "Hey, LOTUS!" and I feel like this bubblegumy scent could easily be lotus, someplace. But, it sort of smells like bubblegum, and pork chops (that would be the herbal element, Im sure. Like pork chop spices. rosemary? basil? Unno.) It's very strange. Very strange indeed.

La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente

I thought this was a really beautiful blend. The rose, on me, was rather prominent. But I really like how rose sits on me so that was good. The pomegrante must add a bite to it, and the peach is surprisingly more fruit-like than I thought it would be. A lot of time "blossoms" end up as just a floral mess on me, but this was really quite nice. Sadly, on the drydown it did what florals do for me, and turned more into a soap-effect than a beautiful perfume. It could be scent-locket worthy. It's very bright, light, and girly. It had average throw, and for some reason didn't last too long on my skin. I think I'm eating oils lately, though.

    Seduction

Ylang ylang? I have no idea what it smells like. I keep seeing it listed on perfumes and shampoos and lotions... and never have a clue what's going on. In this I smelled rose, and other light florals. I didn't detect any jasmine, as I tend to hunt for it and scream about how much I hate it. ^^; But it was a soft floral, kind of nice. But then three hours later the entire scent is just gone. Before it poofed, it turned slightly sweet on me, and smelled a bit like children's perfume. Like, cheap, simple stuff. I dunno. It was nice before then, though. At first application until the near-death of the scent, it really is sensual to me. It's soft, womanly (I assumed it would be more girly, being so floral, but this is somehow adult), and not hussy-style seduction. More of a true love kind of seduction. Really pretty, until it fizzled out on me. There must be some base note that didn't sit well... such a pity.

    Capela Dos Ossos v5

yep, like others have said this is very incensey. I was fortunate to be able to test it. It's sweet and deep, and a little dark in a warm way. A little spicey, in a mellow way (lol how does that work? I guess like clove, somewhat). It's kind of lovely. I really want an incense that smells like this. It's slightly masculine to me, in an almost feral way. Smokey. Kind of nice but one I'd slather on my guy instead of myself.

I think the scent description will do this more justice than I ever could. It's just... warm, but cool. Like warmth hiding you from cold. Soft, most certianly. it's herbal but gritty, and.... there's a touch of sweet in there. it's threatening to turn a bit "baby butt" on me, no idea what note does this but it just gets a little /too/ sweet and my brain interrprets it oddly? Or it morphs badly. This scent is also a tad old now, who knows WHAT it's doing anymore. It fits the description, but has some unsettling male musk and sweetness that makes me cock an eyebrow from time to time. Strange o_O

    Geek

I really like this. It's green. very very green, dirty, and natural. It's got a wet coolness to it from the juniper/pine whichever note this is. With a gritty sort of background going on, that Im going to attribute to patchouli. Everything put together makes this slightly masculine on the gender-scale, and very hippy on the dirty hippy - perfumey girl scale P: It's nice in it's own right, but just a touch too much like good men's deodorant to wear daily. Unless you're a man. Then have at it, quite delicious.

    Agapē

    In the imp there's a tart sharpness of apple, and a... butteryness? of guava. Wet on skin this is just delicious and mouthwateringly fruity. I dont know why I didnt order this when it was out, I wish I had now. It's turning to be a perfect fruit blend. With a spice overtouch, and a soft sweetness. Oh gawsh, is this lovely. I managed to try a sample through a forum circle swap, and find it somehow amusing. lol. But its so...deliciously perfect. I may have to hunt down a bottle of this now. ;_;

    Numb

So I was fortunate enough to be able to test this out. In the imp it's really, really.... accurately named. It's cold, sharp. Has that same tinge to the nose as mints do. But this is floral somehow, sweeter, and yep a little soapy. On skin it remains chill, but is reminding me of ice cream . It does turn into a dustier floral scent. "old linens" i think someone said, and that's suiting. It smells kind of like pulling old sheets out of that dresser that hasn't been touched for years. A little stale? Weird. But chill, nonetheless.

Luckily was able to test this ^^. In the imp, I couldn't really smell much at all. but on skin, it started to bloom. It's a warm scent, spicey, a little creamy. Carnation /does/ fit that bill, but I wont bother trying to name scents. I'm clueless, so I'll just go with how I feel. It's cozy, warm, little bit of pleasant tang, and doesn't throw much for me at all. I wonder if maybe there's tonka in it, because it smells like tonka does when it dries down. That sweet, spicey base note that just lingers. It's yummy, and soft. And I wish this was my imp I could keep, now .

    Copper v1

In the imp - Diet coke ?? Smells like my step grandmothers house when I was a kid. Diet coke. hardcore. wet on skin - lol! it has FIZZ for me. still pulling a coke vibe because of that. Yet, I think it is something like ginger, and a little sweet too. Tangy, and a little citrusy. It's... well it's diet coke It's tangy, wet, citrusy, spicey, and just keeps tugging my brain back to diet coke. Maybe even coke ice cream floats? It's enjoyable.

    The School-House

This is a nice, refreshing scent. It's very green, obviously, and very natural. But yet it had this bite of something almost metallic and ozone-y that I dislike lingering. It also had a general "perfume" vibe to it. My nose doesn't know what caused it, but it caused it not to be a huge fan. It wasn't just solid green, it was green plus this ozone-like air to it. Which I'm not a huge fan of. Lovely, but not really for me.

    Huesos De Santo

I'm silly and didn't bother to read the notes before slathering it on. It was cake, very foody. With a tart citrus fruity pop inside it that really thrilled me. It didn't turn into a mess of toffee-esq sweet that a lot of "foody" scents do for me, it was fresh and real, and somehow a tangible scent for me with a uniqueness to it that other bready-cakey-foody scents lack. It's really delicious, and I found I could wear it often. The zest makes it really unique. I also felt like it had tonka in it, as it's a base note, and the next morning my wrist still had it lingering. Yum.

    Old Scratch

In the imp I'm excited. I can smell that weird lavendar men's nonsense that was in mad hatter, and patchouli. And im thinking... sweet. Wet on skin patchouli blooms up for me. naturally, I love patchouli, so Im looking hard for it. I also get that delicious tonka note of spicey vanilla. Mm. Dry - Well... I don't know. this is a man's cologne to me. It's not "manly" like leather, but it just has some kind of vibe that says male to it. A more... refined male. The rosewood is quite strong on me, it doesn't turn into pencil shavings or anything, but it adds a dryness to everything. The patchouli just ends up adding a little grit, tonka takes a backseat (it always seems to, but then hours later will be there warming up my skin), so then it's mostly a lavender and amber blend. It's a bit... "powdery" into the drydown. It's not bad, it's just odd. Something about this scent... is curious. I'm reminded of a lifeguard I had a crush on during a summer camp once. It smells like pool, summer, and hiking. Very natural, but with a touch of... trying to cover it up. almost smells like it could be deodorant. Don't get me wrong, that's a good thing. Ever have a heavy makeout and you end up smelling like him? then it ends up just being his DO and BO? Well whatever, this was interesting, and brought up odd memories. It's like... the innocence in breaking rules, you know? I make no sense. I really like it, though. It's bright, happy, and somehow fun... with this dab of naughty in a green, earthy way. Yep it's the rosewood. We sat around and learned about pool safety and general first aid for hikes in some older wood building... and the rosewood is tugging on some note, plus everything else. Wee. Ok throw. It doesn't overtake but it wafts a little. The staying powder is ok for oils as well. It's a nice blend, just not one I want to smell like. And the powder note that keeps building is getting to me (amber, amber, amber. Tisk tisk.)

    Bien Loin D'Ici

In the imp, it's so very very sweet. Wet on skin - it explodes. All the notes seem to come dashing out at me and im overwhelmed, in a delicious way. I get the sweet, but it passes and vanishes. There was something my mind wanted to say was caramel. The honey is there, and man is it honey. It's like... cutting from the comb honey. Fresh and real and mmm... Dry - So, I feel like there's rose in this. I sniff, and I smell rose. Spicey, delicious, red rose. Is there? I have no idea. but this is very floral, in a non-jasmine-ewomggetoffme way. It's really spicey, but with a sweetness so it doesn't get overwhelming, and this touch of something green making it seem natural. My nose is awful at picking out many scents. But my overall vibe for this? Rose. Like, how I want rose to smell in my head. Sweet, spicey, earthy, amazing. Odd, but there you have it. Incredible throw. A little goes a long way. It's a very adult scent. It's not powdery on me yet, and its still so very floral in a perfect way. What ARE these moroccan unguents? Well whatever, it's a keeper.

    Prunella

imp - wildflowers, like a whole field. Wet on skin - tart plum, almost seems green. The cream is sort of.. interesting. Mellow, but with a touch of tang. I can't decide if the cream and plum are doing it, or if my skin is. o_O Dry - Spicey! In a soft way. Really digging it at this stage. 3 hours later - POOF it vanishes. Where'd you go? I huff and huff and nothing is there anymore. If I huff HARD enough there's something soft and creamy almost spicey thing left behind. Almost vanilla-like. But.. nothing else. So this had awesome throw early, but later vanished o_O. May need to try out a scent locket for this. It's very natural. A girly hippy vibrant vibe, to me.

So, apparently this scent is somewhat similar to snake oil. Because, something in this scent makes me think of baby butt. It tends to come across as baby powder, which of course reminds me of baby poo, butt, and you know... baby in general. Now when I say baby powder, I don't mean it turns powdery. It doesn't, in fact it almost smells good. But, for some reason, all I can get when I sniff and think is "baby butt". Which happened with snake oil, too. 3 hours later the scent is practically gone. Am I just having an off day and my skin is eating oils? Or did I just test funky oils today ;_;. But after the scent vanishes and I think it's gone forever... it starts to perk back up. It gets warm, spicey, and baby-butt free!. It gets a little powdery (actual powder, now) which I'll blame on the sandalwood, but it's a pleasing, dry sort of powder. Sweetened deliciously. But the throw is awful, and the endurance wonky. I mean, what happened? baby powder for 2 hours, then nothing, then spice? o_O... well aint that wonky. There are a lot more beautiful scents out there by bpal- wonky ones in a good way P: - so I think this will be traded off. I had hoped for a real encompassing, spicey sweet beautiful blend. But things just seemed to go all wrong.

    Somnus

This was a frimp from the lab, but I was grateful to get it. Reading through reviews, I was very scared of this imp. Jasmine is my sworn enemy. We do not see eye to eye, ever. Yet, this isn't jasmine-y for me. It is lavender, but not an obnoxious lavender I've dealt with before. I'm confident that's rose. Perhaps Rose makes jasmine behave, on me? This isn't a scent I would wear out of the house. Florals and I don't tend to get along, in general. (You see now why Jasmine and I dislike each other). However, lately I've had issues with my sleep. I have no issues getting to sleep, or staying asleep. My issue is that I sleep long hours, and through it all thrash and turn in a sort of nighmareish insanity that makes no sense in my head. Not even nightmares, because that would mean I had a cohesive dream. I lack any cohesion, ever. And that lack of logic makes me thrash and wake up weary eyed. Interestingly, or maybe coincidentally, wearing this scent calms me. On first sniff, I can feel all my nerves sort of unwind- Not enough to put me to sleep. I don't think that's the intention of the scent. I think it's to just help you have a natural, calm sleep. And for the first time in a few weeks, I slept. Woke up, and I wasn't tangled in my sheets or sweating. I was blissfully in the same position I had fallen asleep in. Now that's lovely. Will try it a few more times and see if it keeps going. Even if it's not the oil, and just a mental thing, I'm good with that. Just hope jasmine doesn't pop out as the lab-fresh imp ages. That would make me very sad.

    Imp

The peach is natural, juicy, but light. Patchouli dirties everything up, and I feel like it makes the peach more real. the amber and musk are really warm and golden. I admit I hoped for a depraved like scent. With that green twiggy dirty patchouli and a wet juicy pop of apricot. This isn't that, exactly, but it is nice. The peach is just as juicy as the apricot. But its less pop, and just more always there being juicy. The musk and amber lend a nice base to everything, and warm it up in a sun-glow kind of way. Patchouli adds the twigs. I'm quite pleased with the level of patchouli in this. It isn't the bam of patchouli in goblin, nor is it as forefront as in Depraved. But it's there, with peach, being a supporting role. Mm. Edit - Oh poop. this scent stays for a while, but at 8 hours or so in, it turns into gross powder. Amber has been known to do that, but when I wore The Lion it didn't. So, I'm suspecting the White Peach actually turns floralesq on me and just craps out? Dunno. It's bad enough that it ruined all the love I once had for you, little implet
