  1. I have a vase of full blown, gorgeous red roses from someone's garden sitting in my kitchen. It's three rooms away, and I can still smell them and they are heavenly. I want that! Is there anything you can think of that is like Blood Rose (one of my all time top five BPAL), but without the wine? I just want pure, unadulterated red rose.

Have you tried Rose Red? It smells just like a bouquet of red roses. It's an LE, but you should be able to find some on the forum sales pages. I haven't tried The Rose yet, but from the reviews, it seems like it might be close, as well...

  2. XXXVI

OMG - O and leather? :thud:

my nose is untrained, so I will be researching when I get home, comparing to some other scents to try and figure it out - but in the meantime I will sit here, huff my arm, and swoon with delight...

ETA: it is soft leather like in Dee, not the sharp leather in Loviatar... and O's honey makes it feminine and yummy!

(my bottle was very full also, WinterLeigh)

  3. I've wanted this for a while, and finally got a bottle. It does remind me a lot of Sugar Skull/Red Lantern... but a lighter, more "daytime" version. The sugar and musk are the main notes for me, and I sometimes get the woods and floral notes... it seems to fade fast on my skin though - I've already re-applied, and it's only been 3 hours. Will wait and see if it's a keeper...

  4. I tried this on the other night, and while I was really digging it - leather, amber, flowers & honey = mmm... - my guy came over and the 1st thing out of his mouth was "who's wearing that Old Man Cologne?"

Guess it's headed to swaps... :huh?:

  5. I'm trying this one out today, and I'm fighting layering it with something else right now. It smelled very nice in the imp, but once I got it on, it kind of had a tobacco-like smell, maybe that's the wood? It's starting to calm down a bit, thankfully. I might keep the imp, but I won't be buying a bottle.

  6. Dried orange peels floating in simmering cider, roasted apples, smoldering firewood, chimney smoke, sassafras beer, warm hawthorn wood, and oakmoss.

Fearful Pleasure was the bottle I wanted to buy last year, but never got around to. I finally got my hands on one, and since today was a suitably windy, grey, rainy, autumn-like day, I decided to try it. At first it was very... odd. Almost like a candle from the Hallmark store. Almost fake-smelling. But it dried down into a really nice apple cider smell, with yummy spices and smoke in the background. And it's lasting a long time too, I applied it at 6 am, and it's now 12:30.
I had been harboring doubts about keeping it, from just smelling it in the bottle, but no longer... It won't nudge out Samhain as my fave Fall scent, but it will be a nice addition to my Fall line-up :D

  7. For the 1st 30 mins or so, there was a very sharp note, so sharp it made my eyes water every time my wrists got too close to my nose. After that faded, the cream & berry started to come out, along with the paper bag smell, which was really cool. I don't think I could handle that sharpness again though, so I'll be passing along my decant to someone else...

  8. Wet on my skin, this is so beautiful - I smell the honey, the tonka bean, a little currant, with just a hint of the sandalwood... After it's dried down, it is very faint but still pretty, mostly honey musk at that point. Love my decant, deciding on whether or not to get a bottle...

  9. I'm wearing this today, as it was my favorite from testing all my decants on Saturday. It seems like a cross between White Rose & Titania to me. Love, love, love... unfortunately, it seems to be going a little powdery a couple hours after application. I will try it in my scent locket *crosses fingers*

  10. What are you going to wear for Valentine's Day?

It will be my b-day, so I'm trying to make a good choice. My guy isn't really into the resin-y goodness that I love, or the sweet honey-scents that make me feel sexy, so my plan is to compromise. I'm testing out some of the florals that I have on hand, and hopefully will come up with one by Saturday...

  11. I tried Regan first a couple of months ago, and liked it. Today I tried it again, and it was a yummy, sweet floral... but unfortunately faded after about 3 hours. I even had someone else check, thinking maybe it was me, that I just couldnt smell it anymore... but no, it was gone :cry2:

  12. I had suspected it for a while, but have now confirmed that caramel is the "note of death" on me. I was so excited about this one, but am now glad I got a decant first. I can faintly get a little apple blossom and teak underneath, but it's mostly caramel. Overwhelming caramel :(

  13. :P I do believe this is my new favorite! I got this in the mail last night around 5 pm and promptly put it on. At first, it's spicy and floral, but as the night went on, it became sweeter, and I could smell more of the red musk. I could still smell it at 6 am this morning, before my shower...

    Yummmm...
