    Shango

This definitely started out quite banana-y with an almost juicy fruit like edge to it. It has mellowed down into a sort of even sweet scent with a slight fruity edge. I want to say it is the pomegranate, but that might just be power of suggestion from having read the description. This isn't bad on me, for a fruity scent, but fruity scents usually aren't my thing.

    The Scales of Deprivation

Herbalicious right off the bat. This is a light, herbal scent on me with a hint of underlying sweetness. Lavender fougere's tend to work well for me and so far this one isn't disappointing me, although I didn't think it would work when I read the notes. Definitely a candidate for full day wear and then a possible big bottle.

    The Great Sword of War

Citrus with some sort of grounding edge to it. This is mostly tea & citrus on me, maybe a touch of cocoa but really not very much. I'm not a citrus gal, so this isn't a keeper for me.

The Bow & Crown of Conquest

Gentle but a touch masculine. I am definitely getting some gentle sweetness and creaminess from the vanilla but the cedar and sage keep this from being a keeper for me.

    Anathema

A bit powdery at first, I wasn't sure I'd like this. But after a short time, it became a gentle gorgeous honeysuckle on me. This has a gentle creamy edge to it. A lovely floral, I'll be adding a big bottle to my collection with my next order.

    Gamaliel

This started out a bit medicinal at first, but quickly warmed up. There's a berry-like fruity-ness and a touch of some creamy note in the background as well. There's also a bit of earthiness. This isn't something I'd normally go for, but I do like it quite a bit.

    Oblivion

I was initially hesitant to try this one, but my musk-lovin' skin chemistry totally came through for me here. This is warm, comforting, spicy, resiny, and just gorgeous. It had crazy strong throw on me. The musk definitely comes out, the patchouli hides. I couldn't think of a better way for this one to work out. Definitely another big bottle contender.

    Strangler Fig

Oh how lovely this is. I've been a fig hater for quite a while, but on me this is just delightful. Light and green, creamy and sweet. This is so smooth and soft on me. Absolutely delicious. It needs a full day test run, but it looks like I'll be needing a bottle.

    Frumious Bandersnatch

So spicy, with a good deal of sweetness and a hint of floral, but just the barest hint of floral really. This was really spicy at first, both in the vial and on my skin though it has melllowed out as it started to dry. Plum doesn't tend to be my fruit, and this is unfortunately no different. A lovely scent, just not exactly one for me.

    Thagirion

This is so fresh on me. Almost a touch air freshener-y, but not quite. A touch of a citrussy green tea note. The fresh green nature of this reminds me a bit of Holiday Moon, but this is working on me better than Holiday Moon did. I could see this being very refreshing on a summer day. I'll definitely have to some around until it gets hot out. As this dries, it is becoming sweeter and sweeter, but remains fresh.

    Thaumiel

This is a sort of flat, almost plasticky floral on me. Very faint with a violetty edge to it. As it dries, the violet note comes out more and more strongly. It is a bit sweet and quite floral.

    Ghagiel

This is a very light blend on me. It started out as a sort of flat, powdery floral. Very pale and white. It then morphed into a slightly more musky floral, almost carnation like, with a heady edge like a musky lily. It has faded over the last few hoursand is very faint right now. It is definitely pretty, but I'll need to wear it a few times before I decide on a bottle.

    Samael

This was quite light at first, but seems to be one of those blends that intensifies as it dries. I've been getting delicious wafts from it all night. This is a sweet honeyed musk on me. Similar to La Fee Verte without the herbal notes or Al Araaf without the lily notes. This is delectable. Definitely getting a big bottle of this one.

    Ozymandias

This just smells gorgeous, slightly powdery amber and perhaps some musk. It is a touch perfumey and definitely dry smelling. It is a more feminine cousin of Jacob's Ladder for me. Glorious resins and musks here, with a freshness to it. I absolutely adore this and can't wait to have a big bottle.

    Storyville

Storyville reminds me quite a bit of Devil's Night, but without the perfumey note. Instead, it is creamier and more rich. I applied this to my wrists this morning and where it is under my watch (and much stronger), I'm getting spicy almost gingery hints along with the creamy sweet vanilla and musk. My other wrist is a much softer lighter vanilla. It has definitely faded some since the initial application, but it is absolutely gorgeous. There's an almost caramelly chocolate note going on amongst the creaminess. This isn't really a foody blend at all, but it has gentle hints. This is really quite exquisite.

    Carnivàle

Carnivale Trying the 2004 version. This started off as candy sweet berries with a hint of something foody behind them. As it dries, the carnation seems to be coming out. I'm not sure why I waited so long to try this (I've had this imp for ages). I definitely like it a lot more than I thought I would. This is a candidate for wearing again. A pleasant surprise.

    Chypre

Chypre A dear friend kindly surprised me with some of this to try. Looking at the notes for this: Violet, neroli, lavender and white musk, I'm already worried as the first three are usually not very good on me. This is all lavender on me. Strong, totally goes wrong on me, lavender. Oh, I wish bpal lavender worked better. I'm happy for the opportunity to try it though.

    Cathedral

Cathedral Dry, smoky, dark. This has a slight woodsy overtone and is very dry and smoky on me. Definitely too heavy for me.
  20. cupide430

    Bloodlust

Bloodlust Sharp and heavy at first. I could definitely smell the red musk, patchouli, and vetiver. As it dries, the dragon's blood starts to come out and it takes a floral turn. Ultimately not as strong or heavy as I initially thought it would be. Not bad overall, though not exactly a keeper either.

    Black Phoenix

Black Phoenix Cherry booze. This is very strong cherry booze with an almond undertone to it as well. A slight bit of powder is coming out as it dries, but this stays a mostly cherry booze scent on me.
  22. cupide430

    Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea This is a sort-of airy smelling floral. Very light, quite gentle and very springy. There's a touch of something here that doesn't quite work on me, it almost goes a touch plasticy, but I could see this being lovely if it worked a bit better with my skin chemistry.
  23. cupide430

    Bacchanalia

Bacchanalia Grape. Wine-y grape. Not too bad for a grape note (or at least better than I thought it would be). Then it starts to get musty and a touch powdery. I think that is the musk-civet combo. This doesn't quite work on me, but it is quite a bit better than I thought it would be.

What do bottles and labels look like?

I hear that there are multiple labels for Smut, anyone else with different ones care to post pictures? Gorgeous shots there paradoxicaljib!

    Cherry Blossom

Cherry Blossom This imp was a suprise gift from a dear friend. Unlike Apple Blossom which doesn't ever smell apple-y, this does indeed smell like cherry at first. This opens with a very mild cherry that slowly changes into a sharp floral. The sharpness of the floral does calm down after a few minutes. This is a nice, fairly strong floral with what almost seems to be a dryer sheet/air freshener undertone on me. It isn't quite as lovely as I hoped it would be, but it is nice and I'm very happy to have tried it.
