  1. In the imp this is beauuuuuutiful; snowy vanilla, soft florals that aren't OMG FLORAL PERFUME!!!, and like...an extremely faint appley undertone.

It's lovely on my skin, too, but it fades really quickly :P can't decide whether I should skip it or buy a couple of bottles and slather.

  2. in the imp it definitely reminds me of kumiho and embalming fluid - that crisp green tea scent dominates. on my skin the soft florals bloom a bit, but this is NOT an omgflorals scent; they just balance out the crispness so it doesn't turn too sharp (which for me kumiho does sometimes, almost smelling like spicy mustard). I definitely love it; not sure if I need a bottle, but it is lovely.

  3. This definitely has a bite to it. I am wondering if it shares some note with Ochosi, because it initially smells of pineapple on my skin just like that one did. That quickly gives way to a sharp, peppry smell that is sort of indescribably. smells white to me. I'm not sure how much I'll wear this one but it is interesting!

  4. Oh my GOD, I am in love with this scent. Like, I do not buy multiple bottles of anything but I definitely need another bottle of this. It's a gorgeous earthy cinnamon-ginger scent with a hint of vanilla. Very strong, lots of throw (and that is saying something, 'cause my skin eats up EVERYTHING - this is the very first BPAL I have been able to lightly dab on and yet still detect without gluing my face to my wrist). There's something really Christmassy about it. Capital L love.

  5. In the imp: WHOA. Very strong and sharp and masculine.

Wet on skin: Hmmmm, not so sure about this...it is really, really sharp and herbal

Dry: OK, I LOVE this now. I have actually been searching for a more 'masculine' scent that is wearable on me and this is a contender for sure. Incense + dust + freshness = Ozymandias. I think I may grab a couple more imps of this guy.

  6. In the imp: Mmm, sharp woods and soft florals

Wet on skin: ...Um. Pickles? Yes, that is definitely PICKLES. I smell like a dill patch.

Dry: Dusty pickles and BO. I am cracking up. Very amusing, but not for me. I am hungry now, though : D

  7. Man, I have been wanting to try Dirty since I first started collecting BPAL but have never managed to get around to it till now, and I don't know WHY I waited so long! This is just beautiful. Smells like a pile of clean laundry with a teeny bit of vanilla or something else white and sweet. I desperately want a large bottle now. <3

  8. In the imp: I say this as a person who loves an old-ladyish rose scent but...this is a very strong granny rose smell

Wet on skin: mostly fussy rose, with a hint of plastic

Drydown: ooooh, the leather stops being plasticky and starts smelling like actual leather! I think I may smell like a very flowery expensive car, haha. I like it well enough to use up the rest of the imp, but I have so many BPAL rose scents that I prefer to this one that I don't think a big bottle is in my future.

  9. In the imp: this smells exactly like pineapple

Wet on skin: still smells like pineapple

Drydown: ahhh, THERE'S the shea! I still don't get anything herbal or woody from this, though. It's mostly soft pineapple.

Nice, but I am not a fruity sort of gal for the most part, so I will likely swap this one away.

  10. In the imp: Oh no, this smells a lot like Jersey Devil, minus the berry note. This is bad news for me, since JD SCREAMED AND SHRIEKED until I was sick from it.

Wet on skin: uh-oh, very piney

Drydown: pleasantly, turns into fireworks smoke and black pepper. I really like this but I am not sure whether or not I can weather the sharpness of the initial stage. Luckily I can already tell it will prob. smell great on my dude.

  11. in the imp: smells like a headshop to me. Very incensey and woodsy.

On my skin: turns sweet and cinnamoney, with a resinous undertone. The pepper peeks out after a bit, and also just the slightest hint of...plastic? Unfortunately I don't get any leather from this. I like it well enough and will use up my imp, but I don't think I need a bottle.

  12. In the imp, this smells like aftershave. Aftershave that comes in a bottle with snow-capped peaks on it somewhere.

It doesn't really morph much on me, and it's a little too traditionally masculine for me to be wearable. Nice concept, though!

  13. Both in the imp and on my skin, this smells like sweet, cheery laundry detergent. Eventually on my skin it dries down to a slightly fizzy, sunny smell. It's a nice, bright, golden scent; I might add it to my laundry, actually! Comforting for gloomy days.

  14. A light, pure scent: white musk, green tea, aloe and lemon.

oooooh, I *love* this! Soft, pretty citrus and musk. It is like a kinder, gentler Kumiho on me which is one of the first 5mls I ever purchased. But whereas Kumiho dries a bit sharp, Embalming Fluid gets softer and prettier over time. This has shot to the top of my Want list.

    edited to add lab description

  15. In the imp: honey

    Wet on skin: HONEY

    Drydown: HOONNNEEEYYYYYYYYY!

This is like a delicious single-note of honey. I absolutely love it. It's a very warm, rich, but somehow not fake-sticky-sweet smell.
