    What scents are masculine? Gender-neutral?

I don't think anybody mentioned The Magician. To me, it's the masculine variation of Dragon Claw, which I adore. Very woody, masculine and sexy, in a manly way. Like... I don't know... Hannibal Lecter...

    Blue Moon 2007

In the bottle this smells almost of ice tea... Lemon ice tea, that is...I guess it's the mix of all those flowers and the tang of the cucumber that make me believe that... Wet on my skin it keeps that tartness for a moment... but it really doesn't last long. It becomes very soft and almost unnoticeable... It's a very very light scent, it's beautiful, soft and floral... I don't smell any cucumber nor cypress on my skin... and all the flowers are really well blended... I really need to slather when I use this one, if I want to smell it past the 10 minutes...

    Quirkiest, most bizarre oils

Julia Stone, it smells like rotten linen. Point. Just that, rotten damp linen. I can't even say I hate it, because it's so spot on, that I marvel every time I sniff it. But it's totally unwearable to me, it's gross.
  4. This smells a lot like my dear Dragon Claw, but without the dragon's blood. It's some soft powdery and dark woods... Lovely. Yet, I have to admit I prefer Dragon Claw, as far as I'm concerned, its a little bit more feminine. This is DC male brother. I really see a man wearing this... it would smell soooo good on a man... Gosh... I really like this.
  5. #116 In the bottle it smells of something sweet, almost honey like. Wet, it smells mostly of lavender (I think), slightly medicinal. On the drydown, it gains in sweetness, the lavender(?) disappears, leaving place to a sweet, perfumey frankincense. The previous owner said it smells of honey and myrtle.

Pears - different BPAL pear scents

In this moment, there is a LE scent with Asian pear. I don't know how much it smells of pear, but one has to point it out. ENLIGHTENMENT OF THE COURTESAN JIGOKUDAYU Silken coconut, angelica, soft golden incense, tiare, carnation, and Asian pear.
  7. Bewitched seems to be very similar to April's Fool in the dry down.
  8. I find Saint Foutin de Varailles to be an extremely sexy rose blend. The beeswax and wine make it sweet and heady, without being sugary at all... makes me want to have sex with myself...

    What's the best coconut blend?

White Chocolate, Marshmallow and Coconut... = Rafaello Chocolates! OMnomnom!!!!

    White Chocolate, Marshmallow, and Coconut

I have to admit I really wasn't expecting to like this, since I'm no fan of either white chocolate, nor coconut... But on my skin this is a wonderful creamy scent, that amps a lot, and makes a nice cloud around me. It smells exactly like those Rafaello chocolate candies... I love it!!!

    Saint Foutin de Varailles

This is really a big love at first sniff for me. In the bottle it's really not that impressive. Upon my skin, this is lush red roses, on a black mantle, splashed with wine and the scent of candles... It really smells like a romantic evening, but with a sexy side to it, coming probably from the frankincense, who tends to smell rather naughty on me. As the time goes on, this becomes rosier, but doesn't turn sugary sweet. I'm really in love - Need mooooore.

    Young Pine Saplings

In the imp : it has a very bakery scent... Wet: still some of that bakery scent, probably my interpretation of clove+cream... The more it settles, the more it becomes a creamy ginger, slightly floral... Exactly like the bathmelt Elixir from Lush used to smell... It's gorgeous... not something I'd wear very often, because its a very strong scent... but gorgeous all the same. I love my decant.
  13. Young Pine Saplings smells very similar to Elixir Bath Melt. YAY!

    Pine and Evergreen goodness

Nocnitsa, for the fruity type... Waltz of Snowflakes for the sweet vanilla type... Rat for the orange cream-icicle with pine.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

I would counsel seeing a dermatologist and making some actual medical exams. Allergies tend to be more like small pimples or rash... if it's large zits, maybe its the oil base that BPAL uses that is overly oily for your skin (I know, it sounds weird, seeing people don't usually slather them in oil, but even a little bit can be too much sometimes). Anyway, seeing a doctor is always better than trying to figure stuff out by yourself.

Apples?? Finding the right apple scent

My decant of Lams-Wool 2010 just got me totally head-over-heels for it's spicy tart goodness... So now, I really want to find more apple blends for the summer... I really like rose blend (but the turn very sweet), evergreens..; I really want something fresh and summery. Any recs?
  17. Has someone said that Blade of Grass smells exactly like Supergrass showergel?
  18. I haven't tried that many tea blends... I've tried Bewitched, which is green tea if my memory is right... but on me it's very sweet and smells like a blackberry lollipop... I've tried Eros, which literally makes me gag... it just smells awful. I don't know if it's the tea leaf, or what is it that smells this bad in it, but it's acrid and gross. And I tried White Rabbit, which is nice, but doesn't smell of tea at all...it smells of warm vanilla milk... Can someone recommend blends that smell more tea-like, without being anywhere similar to Eros, please? BTW, it smells gross to me on everyone, so it's not a skin chemistry thing, it's a note thing... I just don't know what smells this acrid. I know it's not the lilac, since I liked the lilac elsewhere... I don't think its the honey either...

What do bottles and labels look like?

Dancing Koi is gorgeous as far as bottle art goes... sadly the notes have no apeal what's so ever to me...

Scent Recs based on your PERSONALITY!

I'll join the game, because I'm awfully curious... I'm the sort of person people seem to either adore, or really hate... Having grown in a rather eccentric family, I've always been figerpointed at... I've been educated that my country and my people are the best in the world, and despite trying to be open-minded, I'm rather nationalistic, and somewhat prideful... Despite the appearances of a person who doesn't care about anything, that thinks herself better than everyone else...deep inside I'm very insecure, very lonely and totally paranoid. I'm a very loving person, once someone has won me over (which is actually rather easy, for those who don't get frightened by my hauty exterior), I'm a very attentive friend. I fall in love almost as easily, and rather deeply... and often are depressed for months, after a brake-up. I have a very active libido, which always seems to surprise my partners, but in a good way... I love beauty, and consider myself to be a hedonist... but I'm not superficial, and most of the men I've dated weren't "handsome" in the conventional sense of the word. I have a rather dark sense of humor, even if I love me some stupid jokes and geekery... Rather superstitious, I believe in my own sort of pantheon of Gods and mythical creatures... I tend to be very aggressive, when angry, though I never ever brake things, usually preferring a confrontation with the person that annoys me. So yeah, I do get into fights with my friends and boyfriends... I just ignore strangers, since, I really don't care about the people I don't know. I have a very strong moral code though, so, if I see a person in trouble, specially a woman or a child, I'll try to help them, even if I'm not really able to do so, due to my small frame. For an example, I've already protected a young girl at a party I really didn't know before, from a bunch of drunk jerks who tried to rape her, she was drunk and never said thanks, but I really didn't care... I just couldn't let them do it. I love all sorts of old music, specially musical types, rock'n'roll, classical and opera... I'm rather depressive in the Baudelaire sens of the word... love me some Wilde too... I guess that's it... I'm a brunette, with blue eyes, an antic greek body and very full lips... And I have a rather geeky type of dressing code... There...)

    The Churchyard

This is a gorgeous scent, and has almost as much success as The School-House does... It smells of evergreens and roses in the imp, but on my skin, the frankincense amps a lot. Not that I like it less for it, since I love frankincense...it's not as powdery as it would be alone. The evergreens and the blackberry leaf keep it kind of sweet and green. This is a wonderful blend, and I feel tempted to hunt down the rest of the Sleepy Hollows, if the two I've tried are this good.

    Yule

It is Yule, and the Holly King has slain the Oak: blood red holly berry, mistletoe, wild thyme, verbena, cinquefoil, hemp, winter rose, evergreen, frankincense, juniper, and myrrh. In the imp, this is a very green, wintery scent, with a soft berry undertone. Wet on my skin, I get thyme, pine and something else... On the drydown... thyme, the acrid side of fir needles and hemp. Not really what I was hoping for. It's very bitter and slghtly sweet... It is nice as a room scent though.
  23. Does someone know any Lush that smells similar to Fizzbanger? It just smells so nice in the bath... yummy, without being awfully sweet...

    Meadow scents!

The School-House is a wonderful meadow scent... the dandelions and the clover, with just a tiny bit of wetness from the birch and freshness from the fir... gorgeous. I'm totally in love!
  25. Jupita

    The School-House

This blend, starts mainly fir on me... but then, while it dries out, it becomes more and more floral... It almost feels as if one was walking out of the woods and onto a clearing, full of grass, clover and dandelions... Very sunny and joyful, sadly, it becomes very faint after 20 minutes or so... Still, lovely.
