Chaos Theory IV: Edge of Chaos

CDXXI I feel like I fell into a vat of Jelly Bellies! In the bottle, it's buttered popcorn JB. On the wrist, initially very buttered popcorn still with pear jelly belly. This is strange. I really wish I were better with scents, but this is such a nice one. I'll edit this later when it's evolved more. I think I may have to see about ordering more bottles of these, addicting is right! Someone else said sweet tarts, and I'd have to agree. It's a tangy sweet smell at this point, after about 10 minutes. I'm loving this scent. 12 hours later -- I can smell a faint version of last night's scent, it's lovely right now. Very sweet. It was a bit strong at one point and making my nose itch but I can handle that. I like this scent, I'm glad I bought it.

    Saint-Germain

This scent really reminds me of Obsession for Men... REALLY. It's awesome but for some reason makes my tongue feel a little numbe. I swear I didn't lick myself <.< I do smell the moss underneath it all. My brother liked it as well but he smells the lavender and amber whilst I can't pick those out of the scent, I just smell it as a whole. He also doesn't smell the resemblance to Obsession - interesting. Overall a keeper ..

    Bloodlust

This is all dragon's blood on me. When wet it smells just like Blood and it took about an hour for me to notice anything deeper than the dragon's blood. Eventually I did smell the patchouli in it but it wasn't coming out of the scent, it was still fairly buried underneath. It's been about 3 hours now and I only smell dragon's blood, there's not anything underneath at all now. Overall I like the smell but it's no different on me than blood soo I don't see the point in it. I like it though, but that's a given since it's primarily dragon's blood.

    Bayou

Bayous smells like shampoo in the bottle. It's an aquatic scent, certainly, but reminds me of Finesse or some other shampoo. There's something underneath that I can't determine just yet .. I'd hoped for more green scent but all I'm getting is blue and watery. I definately smell something rosey in this .. but it's subtle. I kinda smell like an old woman who wears both scented powder and perfume. Still very watery and shampoo scented, it's not bad though I don't think I'd wear it with any sort of regularity. ETA: this has made my nose seriously twitch, don't know what happened in this stage but uck. ETA2: I woke up this morning and could still very strongly smell Bayou on me and it still smelled the same. Why is it always the fragrance you DON'T like that has staying power like that? It was almost 12 hours and going strong ...

    Anathema

Hmm .. very sweet honeysuckle scent in the bottle, that's all I smell. On, wet, it's still very sweet but there is a soft edge to it now after a couple minutes. It' melting into my skin and smells so lovely .. a surface whiff is soft, sniffing deeper I get a sharper honeysuckle scent. I don't really smell anything else with this but I like it. Strangely it reminds me of the smell of hair that's been washed in some sort of balmsam shampoo. Dunno .. I'm sitting under a fan and I get these wafts of it every so often that smell nothing like it does on my arm. It's interesting. Actually this reminds of those stick perfumes that Avon used to make in the floral scents, they rolled up like lip glosses. Overall I like it but don't know if I'd wear it with any regularity. ETA: it smells SO nice right now, it actually reminds me a girly version of Old Spice.

    #20 Love Oil

This scent makes me think of the song Roses Grow by Concrete Blonde. It's a very rose scent on my skin (fair blonde). It also has a soapy undertone and whoever said it was like Dove soap nailed it for me. It really smelled like a rosy dove soap initially. It started to deepen and smell like there was the spiciness of carnation in it but it's changing again and now reminds me of a sweet Chanel No. 5 perfume, it has that old undertone. Fortunately I like roses, dove soap, and Chanel .. I'll have to try this again when I go out and see if it garners any attention. It's not my favorite but it's enjoyable. ~ Up through the cracks ~ Up through the broken glass ~ In the hot red light of a black and white ~ Roses grow

    Machu Picchu

It's very sweet, surprisingly so, but doesn't have that sharp undertone which most sweet scents have. It's not chemical or even floral to me. I don't think it smells fruity either, at least not any fruit I'm aware of just very sweet. I love amber and I think it fits this scent very well. To me it adds a deep layer underneath which tempers the sweetness of the scent. It doesn't make it overpowering. When it's wet it's VERY ripe/sweet but settles down and it's one of those scents that whispers to you all day long if you move your arm a certain way and it's just a happy scent. I can't possibly be as eloquent as others when describing it but to use some of their terminology, on my skin, it's got great throw.

    Queen

This is the strangest scent on me .. I love how it smells out of the bottle and when I put it on right away, it's good. But after it dries it smells like Raid bugspray .. I have no idea WHAT is making that scent but it's very disturbing. I can smell something that I like underneath that particular note but it's constantly fighting with that heavy chemical scent on top. After an hour or so that lessens and I smell more of the goodness but it's really difficult to work through that bug spray smell. Overall, this is going to someone else who will hopefully not smell like bug spray.

    Machu Picchu

Initially this is very overpowering and sweet. Like candy sucking sweet and it's very sharp to me. After a few minutes it absorbs into my skin and I'm left with this light and breathy scent. I can smell it all day and I frequently place my arm within sniffing range. I'd love to just roll in this and I can imagine putting it on my sheets and letting it lull me to sleep. I love resin scents and darker scents, so this is strange that I enjoy it so much, even though it does have amber in it and that's the note that rides my skin all day long, it's very fruity and flirtatious. It's like dipping a piece of fruit into caramel, you've got two seemingly conflicting items that marry well and are almost indescribable. This will be one of my first large bottle orders.

    Morocco

In the bottle, I think Morocco smells like everything else I own, it doesn't have any distinguishable scent. When it's first on and wet it's very overwhelming the me and I'm always certain I'm going to hate it. I've worn it several times and feel exactly the same each time. It's got this sharp sweet smell that I can't place and I just have patience that it'll warm up. Once it's been on for about two hours .. oh glorious. I love this scent after it's been on awhile and it just gets warmer and deeper as the day goes on. I can put it on at 230am when I go to work and still smell it when I go to bed around 8pm, it's just delcious and cozy. To me it really needs to be warmed, like cashmere covered skin warmed. The smell is exotic on me and reminds me (some notes) of the perfume Opium. I think it's the carnation since it's that slight musky sweet sex smell. Overall: it's a keeper .. though I don't like it for the first couple hours.
