Of all the Sephiroth, I had been wanting to try this one the most!! Hmmm...apple...not golden, like the Hespirides (sp?), but "greener," like granny smith. There's also a butteriness to the blend, and a nuttiness (although no peanut butter...cashew butter, maybe?), as well as a non-foody cinnamon that wafts throughout, adding more of a spicy edge than an actual cinnamon smell. The apple note soon fades (not surprised--it seems to be a top note), leaving the nuttiness and spice behind. My favorite of the Sephiroth so far, but still nothing I'd buy a big bottle of.

A deep, soapy, "gummy" myrrh and heavy florals...no, more like a heavy wool blanket stored in the attic for 10 years after being stored with medicines and pontifical incense. A heady, meditative blend (which, I'm sure, was its intent!) with a feeling of *history.*

Something no-nonsense, like Zephyr. I feel I have to carefully calm down my bad moods as opposed to trying to "jolt" myself out of them with overly chipper/bright scents. -

A juniper-scented citrus soda, straight-up. Not masculine, despite the juniper--pretty gender-neutral. I'm not sure what to make of Twenty-One; it's a really interesting scent, but not really "perfumey." However, I think I might wear it as a bit of a "breather" from my beloved heavy orientals, when I want to smell a bit cheeky. Thankfully, I don't get an actual *alcohol* note from Twenty-One, so hopefully I'll be able to splash this on without people thinking I'm drunk!

Is it safe to refrigerate BPALs? I'm wondering if it might extend their shelf life, but I'm afraid that it might make them go screwy!!

Definately Dorian and Zephyr. Zephyr is soft and clean smell and not sweet at all (in case she doesn't go for sweet)

Hahaha I like Dia '05 better than '04! I do agree that the chocolate is not as evident...in fact, I get more sweet, smooth candy than *chocolate*, per say. And that candy is layered under deep autumn blooms swirled with tobacco. This might just be a reflection of my '04 being aged and my '05 being fresh, but '05 smells...smoother to me, and less riotous than '04. I'm absolutely amazed to find myself liking a heavy BPAL floral (as they usually smell very sharp and/or muddy to me), but Dia '05 smells...perfect. A suprise Samhain favorite.

Now THIS is my favorite PP scent!! Dark (but not overly dry) woods with a touch of dark greenery over a pumpkin base...this is the scent of a pumpkin patch on a dark, cold night!! I find this to be the most sophisticated of the 5 PP scents, and the most evocative.

Dark, smokey, very dry, but with buttery pumpkin to give the blend some bright moisture. It's a very sophisticated scent, and it's one of my faves of the batch =)

I didn't expect to like this at all. BPAL fruit notes are extremely "juicy" to my nose--more like fruit juice than the actual fruit--and I expected that to be kinda nasty with pumpkin. It's actually a pretty good match, and it smells gourmand without smelling like a particular food. The drydown isn't so hot though. The pumpkin turns bitter-green, and the pom dissapears. Definately my least favorite of the five =/.

I tried PP #2 fearing Bliss or Gluttoney...how happy I was to find a slightly buttery pumpkin dusted with semi-sweet cocoa powder! I don't really get a nuttiness here (thank goodness), and the cocoa is by far the best, most sophisticated chocolate note I've ever encountered, so I'm happy. The pumpkin does smell particularly "fruity" in this blend, though...hmmm...

This is Jack without the butter overload (although it still smells mildly buttery) and with spiced apples instead of peaches. Very nice, but not my favorite of the Pumpkin Patch scents (I so thought it would be!). To anyone who is curious, this smells absolutely nothing like Pumpkin King.

Trick or Treat starts out smelling like buttery caramel--very nice, but pretty heavy. Oddly enough, though, it's not a linear scent (as I would have expected). After a couple of minutes, it starts smelling like the icing on a cinnamon bun. Now, 10 minutes later, it smells distinctly of spiced cinnamon-sugar. Not at all what I expected, but yummy! (still pretty "heavy" though, more so than Midway)

99% of the time, when I say that a perfume smells like Irish Spring, I'm not too hot on it. And yet I can honestly say that Annabel Lee *does* smell reminiscent of (girlie) Irish Spring, but in the best way possible. (I should also mention that within 5 minutes of opening the box, this oil had recieved two compliments, as I offered two curious women a sniff from the bottle and they both loved it). The sweet pea, peony, and cucumber and the most evident notes in the blend (I especially recognize sweet pea from Juliet), and they-oh happy day!--do *not* go nasty or sharp on me. The sage adds a "grassy" note to the blend, making the florals feel fresher, more "alive." The cucumber smells like morning dew. It has a very aquatic feel, but more like dew than bodies of water. This is so sweet and innocent and girly without being "little girl" *IN THE LEAST* THIS is what I imagine Ingenue smells like (I've sadly never tried that blend).

A lush bouquet of deep, dark blooms greet my nose as I dabbed Beatrice on my finger for testing. There's a *slight* Belladonna-esque poisonous undertone to the blend, as well as a distinctly powdery overlay. I can really imagine "Madame X" wearing this! It's old-fashioned without being old-lady-like...like a elegant older woman's scented powder. Not sure I'll be keeping Beatrice (although I love the label!) but I do appreciate her

Wow...I've had my imp for ages and I still haven't reviewed it??? Cinnamon SN is GORGEOUS. It is nowhere near redhots (thank goodness...I don't like redhots cinnamon!) but is instead slightly powdery, subdued, sweet and spicy. It's the cinnamon in Three Witches, and it's certainly not banal, as one might expect from such a ubiquitous note.

This is BPAL's winey, slightly sour rose note, encapsulated. Although I love the purity of Rose Red, Rose SN smells very flat and one-dimensional to me (shock, I know! It's a *single* note!). Not a fan, but I wasn't expecting to be.

Oh lordy lord... Grape SN smells like grape cough medicine, but worse...it smells like *rancid* grape cough medicine *ugh* It's one of the very very few BPALs (besides Hearth and Satyr) that I immediately felt the deperate need to wash off. Not fun.

A soft, lovely woody-floral, the sandalwood manages to soften the wine-y rose into managability. Very old-fashioned smelling--I can imagine this scenting a classic country cottage.

Like others have said--almondy and herbal and not something anyone would mistake for a normal perfume. I'm not terribly interested in ritual oils that don't smell good to me. I have a hard time feeling all up and optamistic about my finances, lovelife, or whatnot if I'm using an oil that registers in my nose as "paint remover""bug repellent" or anything else chemically.

The palmarosa is VERY sharp and strong in this blend, and that's what turns me off to Wanton, although I really like the soft bed of red sandalwood beneath. If the notes in this blend were less intense, I think I would actually really enjoy it.
