Honestly, the cd tutorials really do help. The school library should have a copy or two, so you can wait until you have the financial aid money to get it. The first 2 or 3 chapters of the books normally lay out all the information you'll need to catch up pretty quick- it might mean some hard studying, but better that than 3 quarters on math. Luck!
