  1. The first ten minutes of this blend are pretty intense vetiver. But after that it turns into a beautiful blend of primarily cherry, sweet honey, vanilla and a hint of spice. I can't stop sniffing my wrist.

Not something I'd wear to work, but something I'd definitely wear out on the town.

  2. This is the surprise hit of the snake pit for me. Based on the description I almost passed this one over and now it's one of my favorites!

sara is right, this is blend is so smooth. Habu does an excellent job of balancing out the sweeter elements of Snake Oil and the wood and musk notes. The bamboo, teak and snake oil are the main scents my nose is picking up, but they compliment each other very nicely.

I'll definitely pick up a bottle of this.

  3. For the first two hours or so this is pure vanilla musk. Since I'm a fan of both vanilla and musk, this really isn't a problem for me. Maybe a closer sniff will bring out the other elements.

    Any moss? Nope.

How about cherry blossoms? Not a trace.

Then after the first couple of hours the cherry blossoms start coming out, but I'm still primarily getting vanilla musk. Still no moss. Even though this blend isn't as complex as I was hoping it would be I'm still a fan. I'm not going to hunt down a bottle, but my imp will get plenty of love.

  4. This is the smell of pink cotton candy to my nose. Lots of sugar and a hint of something 'pink' smelling. Good thing this blend is light on my skin or it would probably be overwhelming.

The more I wear this, the more I like it. If it lasted longer on my skin I'd search for a bottle, but unfortunately after about 4-5 hours this is completely gone.

  5. Plum juice, lilac, leather, and a smattering of herbs.

When first applied each of the notes listed are easily identifiable. The blend is pretty balanced and no one note dominates the scent. Shortly after application the leather becomes stronger while the plum and lilac settle into the background.

Typically I adore the lab's leather and lilac blends and this is no exception, but for some reason the way these elements combine isn't doing much for me. Nice blend, but not awesome.

I may keep the imp to test again later and see if it changes, but based on this test, I wouldn't purchase a bottle.

  6. Based on the description I didn't think I'd care for this blend at all. This starts off smelling very masculine, lots of dark musk and spice which combine to make this a very 'thick' scent.

After a while the more dominant notes fade a touch and the saffron comes out adding just the right amount of sweet to balance the darker elements.

This blend has huge throw and major staying power. I'll definitely use the imp and probably end up springing for a bottle once it's gone.

I'm glad I took a chance on this one!

  7. At first the vetiver is overwhelming, very heavy and dark. Fortunately this only lasts for about 10 minutes. The florals start to become more prevalent but I'm not getting any chrysanthemum, it's mostly rose. A touch old lady'ish for my tastes.

This imp is going to swaps.

  8. Each of the notes listed in this blend are easily identifiable to my nose. I'd say the dominant one is the plum, followed by sandalwood, burgundy wine and then a hint of champaca.

For whatever reason this has a medicinal scent on my skin. It's reminiscent of cough syrup, sweet, with something bitter that I didn't expect. Interestingly, I only pick up on the medicinal smell when I directly sniff the skin where I applied the oil, otherwise it's unnoticeable.

    This one isn't for me.

  9. Usually blends with amber in them go powdery on my skin but this is an exception for me. The amber is the most dominant note, but it's almost a creamy scent. The carnation warms the scent up and makes this a warm, creamy, sweet blend. This is beautiful and sophisticated. I love it.

  10. I'm not getting any port scent from this at all. For me it starts off like Zombie Apocolypse except not as sweet. After a while it gets rather sharp on my skin. The poster who compared this to the scent of Swedish Fish is right on. It's Swedish Fish with a touch of something that just won't quit tickling my nose.

I'm going to pass on this one.
