6/22/22 I am afraid to send chocolate in this heat. What other things might you enjoy? Gourmet lollipops? Handmade Marshmallows (not by me LOL)? Flavored cotton candy? other ideas? Yes to all of the above, though I think both marshmallows and cotton candy may melt in my climate right now :(. It's supposed to get to over 100 several times this week. My husband and son are HUGE gummy candy fans (bears are their favorites, but worms and other shapes are welcome) do you have any reservations about wearing leather, like in an accessory?? Nope. So I took a "viking knitting" class (which is really wire weaving) and can now make necklaces and bracelets. Would you be interested in either one? Sure! IF SO What color wire would you like? (silver, gold, copper, blue, purple, yellow, green orange, black, turquoise, pink, so many colors.) I have THIS PACK among others. silver, copper, blue, purple, black, or turquoise would probably be best. What length would you want (on either or both?) I'm open, but bracelets should be small What kind of fasteners do you like best (lobster claw, toggle clasp, magnetic?) and color of fasteners? (silver, gunmetal, copper, gold?) - some of the toggle clasps come in cool shapes. any style - I'm a big gunmetal fan, but silver and copper are cool too. Do you think a larger chunky one like a torc or a slimmer one? I can draw the wire down to different sizes with my draw plate. I tend to go for slimmer stuff! 6/21/22 Would you use cbd infused bath products? Sure What colors are your kitchen stuffs? Blue and yellow If I knitted up a scarf/shawl/something in the wearable area what colors would you like and please be pretty specific so I can see if my yarn stash makes this feasible - I think I've been super specific about my color preferences in my questionnaire, but poke me if that's not the case —->. One big box or a couple starting now?? whatever is easiest on you! How close to the final deadline would you prefer to receive your package? Should we try to squeak as close to August 31st as humanly possible, or would it be okay to send the package earlier? Don't care! 6/17/22 Do you want anything for your vehicle? Like bumper stickers or magnets? No thanks any interest in Japanese fashion-ish items? (kanzashi hair pins, and other things made form old kimono fabric, fans, tenugui, etc?) sure! Any are fine. I do enjoy a good hand fan (it's hot down here) 6/13/22 I’m knitting up washcloths right now. Would you like some? sure! I'm more likely to use dishcloths that body cloths, though any spices you need/want? I’m fleshing out a Penzey's order!! I may or may not be in trouble with my family for having too many spices, which will not stop me from getting more! We regularly use cumin, ground bay leaf (powder, not whole), garlic powder, thyme, and paprika (smoked and regular). I enjoy trying spice blends especially curry powders and things like ras al hanout where it's a blend of "the best" spices in a store. As far as what I'm actually low on right now, I could use baking mixes (e.g. pumpkin pie spice, gingerbread spice, apple pie spice, chai spice, etc) your feelings on chocolate? Milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, White chocolate? with or without nuts? How about truffly goodness? anything but white 6/12/22 what do you think of plushies? fine but not really my jam. I'd say my kid would love them (it's true!), but I also just had an extended bed time argument about why we moved his stuffed animals to make his bed, so maybe we have enough? Are there any Korean or Japanese food/craft/self-care items you would be interested in in receiving? Sure! I don't know enough to have specific requests, but I love goodies from places I don't live. Is there anything for your garden or houseplants that you need, or would like (tiny, hand thrown cachepot for a prized astrophytum, etc.), or are you proudly black thumb and shun any plant that isn't resin? So, we're black thumbs who just purchased a house previously owned by a serious gardener. Nothing is salvageable plant wise, but we have three raised beds to fill, amongst other things. I would love some wood chimes, advice on something cheap to buy to fill the "browns" need for the compost tumbler we just bought, fool proof seeds for flower pots and meadow type areas, and/or smart/durable gardening tools. We do not know what we're doing, and our weather is pretty extreme. For now, we're sticking with mint on the theory that it's weed-like enough to survive us. Did you know their are insects that eat mint leaves? I didn't. How many books is too many books? Is this a trick question? 6/8/22 Would you like items related to your astrological sign and if so what is it? No thanks 6/6/22 Are you ok with shunga label art (bpal?) Yes, also adult art in general though we're not currently displaying it on our walls I dye yarn. Is custom yarn of interest to you? - If so, colors? I have various weights of wool, sport and dk cotton, cotton thread in 3/2 and 5/2, and light fingering weight bamboo rayon that dyes like a dream - I like petting pretty yarn, but I don't actually now how to do any yarn based crafts. My European travels are expanding! Anything you want from Portugal or Berlin??? Sure! We're very fond of azulejos. Otherwise, whatever you think fits my other tastes. My friend makes cool art with garbage, is there anything here you might like? https://www.garbageforgood.com/ That's super cool, and I have nowhere to put it 6/5/22 I am learning to do embroidery. Would you possibly like a simple hand embroidered piece? Sure, small or useful (like a bag, bookmark, or other usable item) is best If you would like this is there a simple favorite flower or summer symbol, like a bee? I love bees, summer symbolism of all kind is cool though What kind of sprite would you prefer? A ninja or to know the ID right away? I like both styles for different reasons - any and all, just have fun 6/4/22 It's farmers market season in town and I have loads of lovely local artisans to shop from. Would you be interested in items from any of the following? Hooray farmers' markets! The Rod Homestead (I love this one I helped fund her commercial kitchen) - any of the simple syrups, vanilla extract, and maybe the lip balm? I'm always disappointed by lip balms, but my lips are a mess these days. Working Class Coffee I generally prefer ground, but I'd try the working class blend Philly Nuts Butter toffee almonds, honey roasted peanuts, salted almonds, salted pistachios, any of the nut butters. We eat a lot of nuts, so I'll just say that, in general, we like honey roasted, toffee, and cocoa or chocolate covered nuts for sweet nuts. Plain salted for savory nuts (other than hot boiled peanuts, but you can't ship those). We don't each cashews but all other nuts are ❤️ 222 Creations this is pretty https://www.etsy.com/listing/922448426/copper-enameled-black-crescent-moon?click_key=1ede5e9ae4ca8c7e24a77105abcb4fa24a23846f%3A922448426&click_sum=064d095a&ref=shop_home_active_12&frs=1 Carol's Epiphany lot's of close but not quite stuff there. 6/2/22 PBSW Summer collection is live!!! Anything catch your eye? Hmm, not much from summer, but here's summer +spring+GC. Red Cow, #DoYouMind, or After-Winter Bath Streusel would be fun. I'm curious about Flufferbutter (Clean Slate is my fave cleanser, but we had some trouble with ants in the bathroom at our last house that made it difficult to use). Maaaaybe Fantasticake! Sorbetto. The scent sounds fun, but I'm not sure I want to risk ants in the new place. 6/1/22 If your bday is during the swap, how are you planning to celebrate? It's not. I was always super jealous of people with summer birthdays. Pool parties with only the people you like and no pressure to invite everyone from your class? Yes please Likewise, how do you celebrate relevant spiritual holidays in this time period? Nope Anything you want from the UK? Nothing specific, though, again, I love local to you stuff. Seeds, y/n? Sure! Wildflower type stuff is always welcome and anything that thrives on heat and neglect. Are you interested in skincare/shampoo/conditioner? I think I answered this in the questionnaire, but let me know if I missed anything Are you interested in tights? If so, what thickness, style, and size? Maybe? Over the knee/thigh high socks or stockings (and a dang garter belt - now I'm distracted by https://www.thistleandspire.com/ and https://www.pipandpantalaimon.co.uk/ instead of answering these questions) would be more of use since I can't be bothered to wear tights these days. I don't shave and live in a very hot place, so opaque but breathable is ideal. Do you use tarot decks? Would you like to receive more - and if so, can you list the ones you already have? No tarot, please What do you think of the art on this website? https://www.printisdead.co.uk/ not really my jam Is loose leaf tea good, or do you prefer bagged? either! I make arm warmers. I make them from sweaters I thrifted. They can be all one color, or stripes of different colors. They can be long, to the elbows, or shorter. If you would like a pair, tell me your favorite colors. Solids are more generally elegant, Stripes can be as wildly funky as you wish. Long? Short? Cashmere? Tell me your fingerless mitts arm warmer dreams. Black and/or red, elbow-ish or a bit shorter, not too warm since it's hotter here than other places. 5/31/22 I recently discovered Khamila Luna and plan to place an order soon to get a present for my roommate. Is there anything you'd like from them? No thanks! is there any small gift from mother nature that you'd like me see if I can source for you from old forests? Hmm, nothing comes to mind, but my son is a collector of odd items from nature do you wear rings on all your fingers? how about a range smallest to largest? Nope, just my wedding ring If your Sprite were to gift you magical items or workings... a) Would you be interested in that? b) If so, what intention(s) would you appreciate most? Please do not send items with intent Would you be interested in a set of (rpg) dice? If so, what colors/aesthetic? My husband loaned his to someone who hasn't returned them, so sure. His old ones were red, but we're not picky. What's your favorite creature? Maybe dogs? Do you like reading comics? If you haven't really read 'em, would you be interested in receiving a few that match your book genre preferences? I love webcomics and have been known to enjoy a comic here or there. I'm headed to Puerto Rico in July - anything particularly interesting you would like from there? Nothing in particular, but I love items that are local to you or picked up while you're travelling Would you be interested in receiving a small bottle of home infused whiskey aged from commercially produced moonshine? Any particular flavors you might enjoy (examples include orange chai or cinnamon chocolate or hot peppers)? Not hot peppers, but the rest sound good. Would you be interested in homemade shortbread that fits your flavor preferences? Yum! 5/30/22 Does anything, scent and / or product-wise, catch your eye from the Haus of Gloi summer drop? (https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/summer) [you're free to pick stuff NOT from Summer as well, of course! ] I haven't gotten anything from her in years, so sure! Archipelago, Beguiled, Hummingbird, Zazz, Blueberry Tart, and Lemongrass Ice Cream sound lovely. Minis are best. Whipped soap, bubbling scrubs, sugar scrubs (maybe - we had issues with bathroom ants at the end of our time at the last house. I love sugar scrubs but don't love ants), pumpkin butter, and hair oil would all probably get some use. Yes, the rumors are true- I'll be in Paris this summer! Tell me up to five things you'd be happy to get from there, including any specific teas from Dammann Freres, my favorite french tea shop! (https://www.dammann.fr/en/#) Oh wow, that's way fancier than I can wrap my head around. Any caffeine free, non-smoked tees are welcome at our place. We also might use mate.

If you, like me, amp sandalwood, you should skip this one. I took the risk on an imp because hay is one of my all time favorite notes and sandalwood was listed last, but the hay is completely absent for me. No hay, no almond, no bourbon cream. Just sandalwood for days and not in a good way. In an "oh god, who is wearing such strong perfume?" way.

Hello dear witch! I'm sorry for going radio silent. I have an issue with joint hypermobility that has been causing me an increasing amount of pain. I'd just gotten up the nerve to try to get it properly diagnosed this spring (a physical therapist I was seeing last fall for something else confirmed there was an issue, but she's not technically allowed to make the diagnosis), and then... you know, 2020 happened. Right now, I feel like my fingers are going to dislocate whenever I type or click It's better this week than last, so I'll be catching up bit by bit depending on how much i use the computer during the day 9/25/20 I happen to live near this amazing place. Do you have any interest is anything that I could pick up there? The have hand made pottery, cookie molds, cookbooks with historical recipes all sorts of good stuff. https://www.gcv.org/shop/ any of the kitchen stuff or games, particularly marbles or dice, would be fun. 9/23/20 https://www.poesieperfume.com/loose-leaf-tea <---- would you be interested in receiving tea and / or scents from Poesie? the tea looks lovely, but i don't know tea well enough to pick one I have been remiss--witchee (or anyone needing a minion), I am notorious for homemade caramels, shortbreads both savory and sweet, and catnip/catnip laced toys. I've also started playing with homemade marshmallows and fruit candies. Any interest? sure! 9/22/20 Would you like any of Snag Tights’ Halloween offerings and if so, what size? Huh, I had a pair of very similar spider web tights as a teenager. Mine glowed in the dark, though. Blast from the past. Nothing really strikes me, though Do you prefer getting one or two really nice/more expensive things or several smaller/less expensive little things? Or do you have no preferance? no preference Witchee, do you like tea? If so, what kind? I do. I drink rooibos, english breakfast, spiced teas, and mint. Witchee, do you want anything? Shirts, mugs, postcards from Anarchist Seattle, Portland, or New York.... https://www.redbubble.com/people/litlnemo/shop?artistUserName=litlnemo no thanks Would you be interested in a gently-used tarot deck (or other oracle)? If so, toss out some styles you gravitate towards, cause I have SO MANY DECKS and I'd love to send one or more along! no tarot or other divination tools, please. Are you interested in receiving a burned CD of music? If so, name of genres, artists, styles that you are into or would like more of to explore. Yes, any kind at all! Do you have an Amazon wishlist? If you do and you're ok with getting stuff from it, please share the link! no Pumpkin/pumpkin spice – yay or nay? Yay in food/drinks but nay in other products (soaps, perfumes, etc.) or vice versa? What are your thoughts? yay, but i hate that in many foods they over-sweeten it. Love the flavor/scent, don't want the sugar bomb Candy corn – love it or loathe it? Or just don’t care much one way or another? historically, i've thought it was great but only in small doses. haven't had it in ages 9/21/20 I'm a knitter. I have some knitted washcloths done, and can knit up more. Would you like some? Also, if answered soon enough, I can maybe get a scarf done. Would you like one? What colors would you like? Thin or thick? With or without fringe? Are you allergic to any fibers - wool, cashmere, angora, alpaca? Sure to washclothes - yellow or blue. Scarf won't get much use in this weather/ Witchee, darling, there's a *slight* chance I might be going on a trip next week and *might*, in the course of this trip, have access to Disneyworld goodies from Epcot and Magic Kingdom - any stuff you might desire? it's been so long, i'm not sure what they have anymore 9/20/20 How do you guys store your decants so they are not a confused mess? If you've got a system, please share it. i don't love my system, but i have small imp cases by scent family/mood/season all in a small box. 9/19/20 Lilith are up! Is there anything from the release that you want? Decant or full bottles? i did see some interesting ones, but i'll have to look back again more closely. Lord, these questions make me feel old - I got in to bpal in time for crawfish dreams. How would you feel about recipes? YES!!! Would anyone be interested in anything from Bucees?! It’s a magical giant beaver gas station/shop! It has spices, fudge, Knick knacks, all things Texas, candy, beef jerky, roasted nuts, and of course beavers! Most things like the fudge and nuts are made in house. oh Bucees - nothing for me since their greatest asset, clean bathrooms, isn't shippable. 9/18/20 Witchee, assuming you like home made/home canned condiment goodies, what is your spice level preference? we can handle any level of spice from none to pure fire, but I like my spicy stuff to have a flavor not hidden by the spice Would you be interested in anything from Cellar Door Bath Supply Co.? i don't use bar soaps or candles, so no 9/17/20 Is there something from your fandom that popped up in another country you'd be particularly interested in? What, and what store? I'm not sure I understand this question... Would you be interested in some boozy chocolates (or anything else) from https://www.chocolatemoonshine.com/ ? those look fun, sure! 9/16/20 Would you, my dear Witchee, like anything from April Gloom? https://www.etsy.com/shop/AprilGloom (this is our @spookygrrrly - switch witch code coming soon to a spreadsheet near you.) cute! but i don't do skulls How about from https://twinklentwilight.etsy.com ? (This shop belongs to @twilighteyes - we can maybe crochet some of the unicorns that are sold out...) nothing i need, though i like the yip yip aliens and the fabric for the project bags is great Would you enjoy anything from my friend Brian's Etsy shop? https://www.etsy.com/shop/BrianSerwayArt? a little too creepy for me, but beautiful Are you a sock person? If so what are your favourite kinds to wear? Do you have a sockdreams wishlist? i don't wear socks often because it's so hot here, and i prefer wearing sandals. I got some great longer o chevrons this winter though that i love. i like toe socks and over the knee/thigh high socks that are opaque (i don't shave and have dark hair) but not too heavy. If you're not near one, is there anything from Trader Joe's you'd like? fancy chocolate, sheet masks, those single serve olive packs they have, and the crispy okra in the chip aisle How do you feel about local items from my city, like spicy (think chili) things or local coffee? The coffee is not spicy lol. YES do you have good feelings about Funko Pop? too knick knacky for me Candles! Anything from these places catch your fancy? https://cantripcandles.com/collections (restocks Friday 9/18 at 9:00 PST) https://miruscandles.com/collections https://briarwickcandles.com/collections just when i say i don't want candles, you break out the geeky ones. No, i'm holding strong. 9/15/20 I have a friend who does pet caricatures. He's done ones for all of my pets. Is this something you would be interested of for your pet(s)? sure! Do you decorate seasonally/for holidays? Is there anything in particular you would like to that end? i try but suck at it. i love twinkle lights, especially solar ones for outside, and i've been looking for a summer wreath off and on for a while. Would you like anything from House of Gloi, especially from their Autumn Update? (https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/fall-1) i would be up for trying the pumpkin butter - cider haus, pumpkin eater, pumpkin queen, or red roan - or pumpkin peach body powder I know the tea question has been asked, but what, specifically, about Adagio teas? up for it but don't order from them regularly so don't know the collection What about anything tempting from Dandelion Chocolate? (https://store.dandelionchocolate.com/pages/home) anything chocolate is welcome 9/14/20 Anything you'd like from Future Primitive: https://futureprimitivesoap.co.uk i'd try to bath salts - not white witch or corwainers, but any of the other scents sound lovely Do you have an Etsy wishlist? yes - i tend to use it as a way to track stores or concepts i like rather than exact items, but it's reasonably up to date I wanted to share this link to a soapmaker I love and ask if y'all see anything you would like from them! https://www.herbneden.com/ the body oil and bath soaks look interesting. I'd also try the body washes and face wash. Nui Cobalt Designs perfumes...(just got her latest email): How about the scents being discontinued? The Critters? https://nuicobaltdesigns.com/collections/critters-2020?page=1 or other ones? no thanks 9/13/20 Do you have a favorite art style/movement/artist? not really, though i'm fond of several spanish painters and like art nouveau Who is your fashion icon(s)? don't really have one, but i've always been impressed with Janelle Monae's style What is your favorite mythological creature? hmm, not sure. I like intelligent wolves and I read the pern books at an impressionable age, so i wouldn't mind a fire lizard is there anything you want from Lush? no Do you need any astrological work done, since thats one of my professions? Any particular areas you could utilize a consultation? no thank you How do you feel about the homemade fudge I sell in my etsy shop? https://www.etsy.com/shop/HollysRainbow -particular preferences, flavors (consider I take special flavor requests all the time!)? fine with fudge, but it tends to be a bit too sweet for my preferences How do you feel about keto or sugar-free, low carb baked goods or treats?? i don't mind those things if it's made from real food (in other words, no artificial sweeteners, no weird carb substitutes, etc) 9/12/20 Does anyone like the prints or items from www.ElissaMarieCreative.com ? I have a few of her prints and the notebooks and they are quality! what a lovely art style, very cute What about www.drawingsbynicole.com? Anything specific? not for me Does anything from www.vapidlacquer.com stick out to you? nail sauce, body bar, and body cream could be interesting I do pour painting/acrylic fluid art (with varying degrees of success, haha). Would you like a custom piece in colors of your choice (takes 3-4 weeks with curing, longer if you want it sealed, so it would arrive post-round if custom) or a piece already finished in my collection? I have mostly 12 x 12 and 10 x 10s right now. Pics available upon request! sounds cool After enjoying looking at the links several others have put in the questions, I decided to add some of my own favorite independent artists who I enjoy supporting - so, what do you think of the goodies from these people? And specific items you love? Enjoy! 1) https://www.catcoven.com/ 2) https://www.mineralgypsy.com the stud earrings are cute, though i never wear that style. 3) https://www.redbubble.com/people/thelatestkate/shop 4) https://www.marikapaz.com/shop/ 5) https://www.faunwood.com 6) https://www.shannatrumbly.com/ 7) https://fiddlersgreenzine.com 8 ) https://www.hedgespokenpress.com One of the things I do is make nifty things from sweaters that I cut up & upcycle into things like super warm mittens, arm warmers, striped arm warmers, cowls, teapot cozies, & French press cozies. I don't have a slipper I love yet, but I'm working on it. So, which of these things might you like? Give me some thoughts on colors you like & if for a teapot or press, I need to know a size. arm warmers and cowls are good. also open to slippers if they're open back. speaking of arms stuff, i'm on the hunt for compression gloves or other hand pain aids I enjoy historical reproductions and am a fan of LBCC Historical Apothecary. Is there something in her store you might be interested in? this looks like a great deal of fun, but i'm hopeless with makeup and therefore unsure where to start. 9/11/20 Is there anything you'd like from the UK? i like local stuff Do you have a particular fandom you'd like stuff from? not in particular. for fandoms in general, i like star trek, firefly, avatar the last airbender, a million webcomics, and a ton of book series How do you feel about tea? Preferences? Would you want anything from David's Tea (https://www.davidstea.com/us_en/home/), Steepologie (https://www.steepologie.com/), Bird & Blend (https://birdandblendtea.com/us_en/), or do you have a favorite tea maker to suggest? What about tea tools or cups? i answered this elsewhere, i think. no tea cups, but we're always looking for iced tea pitchers and caraffes. I could use a second cold brew coffee sock, which is coffee not tea, but i was reminded How do you feel about fragrant things for the home like incense, candles, atmosphere spray? i have too many Do you share your home with any loved ones (human, feline, canine, etc.) who might enjoy a tiny treat too? sure! they all end up snagging things from my packages anyways 9/9/20 would anybody like a small cross stitch thing, like a patch or pin? or cross stitching notions like handmade needle minders? Sure! I like the tiny cross-stitched jewelry and hair clips that I've seen around (I think I have some saved on etsy), so I'm down for tiny cross stitch. I have recently started doing embroidery and cross stitch, so supplies and notions are welcome. I am also on the lookout for crochet needles/hooks on the random craft items front. 9/8/20 Art and artists - anyone dig any of this? https://www.studiodesade.com/ (They also do masks, see here.) - gotta be honest that I'm sort of overwhelmed by the website. The more stylized fandom stuff is pretty cool and some of the more abstract originals are cool too. I could look more closely if you'd like, but my gut reaction is that nothing sings to me. If you knit/crochet/weave, would you like custom dyed yarn? And if so do you have preference on weight, fiber, colors? I don't do any of those things well, but I'm trying to learn. I'd love something pretty but not precious, if that makes sense. what is one fun/frivolous thing for $20 or less that you’d enjoy? feel like I've answered this in a few places. I'd add chocolate bars and self-care bath/beauty items like bath bombs or face masks. Let's see, other random stuff... My son wants to try painting his nails, so kid's peel off or water nail polish could be fun. His favorite color is orange. Also, this isn't exactly fun or frivolous, but we have been trying to get clorox or lysol wipes for 6 months now and no store that we shop at right now has them. If I sent you to a dollar store with $20, what would you walk out with? Oh man, dollar store shopping is an art. I love a good dollar store (where things are actually a dollar, not the type that have multiple prices), but it takes careful navigating for 1.) finding reasonably sustainable/ethical products and 2.) finding stuff that's actually cheaper per unit. Last time we were at a dollar store we bought pasta and cookies. I've seen super cute, made from recycled materials wrapping paper there. I usually check the kids aisle for hidden treasures (it's not uncommon to find brand name playdough, for example). We've found nice picture clip frames, though I can't put art on the wall in my current place so that's not something we're looking for currently. Rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, and other first aid stuff sometimes catches my eye. I will also occasionally buy kitchen items (aluminum foil, the occasional storage container) if they're good quality and something I need at the time. 9/5/20 what are your feelings on home made/ home canned jams & pickles or syrups? I even make things with berries I grow in my garden. I make both brandied & bourbon cherries. Syrups good for cocktails, in lemonade or tea, flavors include Lavender, Lavender + Lemon, & Lavender + Vanilla. Interested? Yes, especially the cherries. I love homemade and local, it's probably my favorite part of this swap, but, given the immune system issues in my household, I do want to say please don't send home canned items unless you're *sure* of your safety and sanitation procedures. Is there something that you're especially hoping to receive for this round? For example, a brand you've heard of that you're especially wanting to try, or a certain "thing" that you really want but just cant bring yourself to buy for yourself?? Hmm, I may have to come back to this one. [eta] Honestly, I like the surprise of not knowing what I'm going to get. If you want some ideas for things that I want right now but haven't bought myself - #1 is nice pajamas. I really want some comfy pjs pants or lounge clothes, but every time I look the ones that aren't fast fashion are *so* expensive. I know there have to be decently priced ones somewhere, but I'm too tired to look. Would you rather receive supplies/tools for your own craft/hobby or receive something you can't make yourself? Oooh, hard one. Usually something I can't make, but I'd say it's a toss up right now - quarantine boredom has me hoarding craft supplies. Is there anything you'd like from Penzeys (https://www.penzeys.com/)? Oh man, we've been trying to declutter our spice cabinet, so I really, really shouldn't look at that site. If they have cream of tartar, I've been looking for some, and we use enough garlic powder these days that I probably wouldn't be in trouble with my family members if I ended up with more. 9/3/20 Would you like anything from here? https://www.etsy.com/shop/TaterRoundsBeauty Nothing catches my eye and several things trip my superstition rules, so no thank you! 9/2/20 Would you like a face mask from one of my favorite artists? https://akumuink.com/collections/facemasks - that plague seeker mask is ADORABLE. I would love a mask like that (I'm probably as size small). one of our fellow BPAL friends makes custom masks, Hakutaku Custom Masks on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/HakutakuMasks/ ). Would anyone be interested in one of her masks? - wow, these are lovely. The Foxy, In the Garden, Indigo Cotton Chambray, and Frida patterns are all up my alley. My dad would get a kick out of that sake pattern. 9/1/20 are you familiar with https://www.a-natural-alternative.com/ ? Take a peak & let me know if you might like to try something - nothing catches my eye. 8/30/20 Is there anything you want from Japan? Current kit kat flavors are... Salty Lemon, Salty Lychee, Sweet Potato, Chestnut and possibly still some Cookies and Cream Ice Cream or Strawberry Ice Cream from summer. Other than that, anime goods, cute stationery, other Japanese snacks, lay it on me! Nothing in particular, but I love trying new things! A random thing that comes to mind - we're big seaweed fans. What are your favorite self-care items or activities? I'm especially curious about things that you hesitate to do/get because they feel like frivolous luxuries. Add me to the massage camp. That's one of the top things on my list for doing if this quarantine ever ends. Otherwise, I'm an introvert in a packed house full of extroverts, so my biggest self care act is usually to go somewhere where I can sit quietly without others, which, right now, mostly means my yard. I cracked and bought myself a cheap lounge chair this summer, but what I really want is a hammock and a big floppy sun hat. I've also been contemplating trying to get back into taking bubble baths (feels a bit selfish with the whole 1 bathroom thing, but I guess I can do it late at night). I do enjoy sheet masks, but always feel a bit weird about the wastefulness (both price and trash wise). I've also gone back and forth a bunch on getting a reed diffuser. On the one hand, totally pointless. On the other, it would be nice to have scents I like and am not allergic to wafting across the house. 8/29/20 Does anything from Paintbox Soapworks catch your eye (http://paintboxsoapworks.com/)? Clean Slate face scrub is a personal staple. Also, I recently tried and enjoyed her lotion, so I'd be up for trying more. Does anything from the Trading Post's etsy page catch your eye (https://www.etsy.com/shop/bptradingpost)? Oddly, no. Everything available right now seems to either have notes or names that won't work for me.

Hello dear Witch. I'm following along with the master question list, but I may fall a bit behind. Feel free to poke me if you need an answer to anything. ***A note on spooky things*** Since it's Halloween, I want to reiterate a point from my wishlist. I am, for lack of a better word, superstitious. I do NOT want any items that are in the spooky/scary/gorey realm. Nothing referencing death, demons, or supernatural evil please. I can enjoy the occasional cutesy ghost or friendly witch, but I really and truly find macabre items disturbing. I do not want to invite that type of energy in my house. That applies to imagery and scent descriptions. No death, no demons, no exceptions. 9/27/17 How do you feel about these little guys? I think they're adorable and kind of want them all, but especially the ghost and pirate ones. https://lovemomiji.c...imited-editions No thanks! 9/26/17 Witchees, do you want anything specifically from this page? Mitts, hat, shawls, unicorn... http://iceweasel.net/switchwitch/ The armwarmers are cute, but I wear black/red/grey during the winter, so most of these colors don't really work. Purple and blue are warm weather colors What are your top three most wanted DC'd or previous LE BPALs? Needle in a Haystack. What are some things you do NOT want to receive? Knick knacks, incense (or other strongly scented home or body products that I haven't said were ok), heavily processed foods, and non-BPAL perfume. Honestly, though, I'll be happy with whatever you send is there anything from here that you might be interested in getting a print (or pillow/make-up case/etc) of? http://www.blackabbeystudios.com/store No thanks Claire's has some super cute Halloween stuff. In the style of Haunted Mansion - black lace collars, lace and sparkle masques and the like. A few items in Dias de los Muertos style. Would you be interested in such things? They're usually not my style, and I don't do DDLM, but if you see something that seems like my taste - sure! Would you be interested in anything from Orange Thyme? https://shoporangethyme.com/ If so, which products/scents/flavors? I think I have F Balm liked on a wishlist somewhere.... 9/25/17 Anyone like/want calendars or dayplanners? Maybe. I always look at the calendars and day planners every time I go somewhere that sells them, but then I never actually buy anything. I get decision paralysis with all the options. Calendar wise, it's nice to have something magnetic that can fit on our fridge (up on the freezer door so that kiddo can't reach it). Day planner wise, I like space for notes, full month views, and no extraneous foofera (like, I don't need 12 pages for phone numbers or time zone conversions. That's what cell phones and the internet are for) If you like stationery, do you like plain, colors, images, or specific DON'T LIKES? I'm pretty open. I usually like darker colors (black, jewel tones, the same as my clothing tastes), but for work I use a bright blue almost turquoise color scheme. I trend classic and/or minimalist in my stationery tastes. The only things I don't like are 1.) super cutesy stuff - nothing that is reminiscent of Lisa Frank or Hello Kity and 2.) stationery with so much design that there is not actual space to write. If a post-it note has an all-over pattern, it needs to be subtle enough that I can write over it and still read what I wrote. What about general desk stuff like cool colored paperclips and post it pads? I'm down! My only rule is that it has to be actually usable. If function was sacrificed for design, it will drive me mad. Would anyone be interested in having any of Abigail Larson's artwork (either as a print or on something, like a pillow, blanket, or t-shirt)? https://society6.com/abigaillarson I don't think so. I like some of her stuff a lot, but I couldn't find a combination of 1.) art I like, 2.) that isn't too creepy, 3.) on a product I would use, and 4.) in the right color scheme for the room where it would be used. Does anything catch your eye from Ten Thousand Villages? http://www.tenthousandvillages.com/ Whoo, that was a lot of stuff to go through. I'm listing by categories below. I want to mention that I sometimes list items on wishlists that are WAY too expensive for a swap like this (similarly, I've got DIY projects liked that are way too complex). I figure it can be useful to get a sense of taste, but it's in no way intended to suggest that I expect crazy expensive stuff! Scarf/shawl? Hat? Bag? Anything? Colors? (Duct tape, chain maille, and scales come in colors.) I am super pro-handmade as long as it fits my general tastes Do you collect anything from SBUX like City Mugs, City Mug ornaments, City Cards, or Bearistas? If so, which do you need/want? Or would you like a City Mug or an ornament for fun? Nope. I do drink Starbucks when travelling, but I don't collect their merch. anybody want homemade fudge? I can do chocolate with or without nuts, peanut butter, and butterscotch. Sure. I'm not a huge fan of super, super sweet things. do you like spicy foods? I am currently addicted to these suckers and want to send you some buffalo ridged kettle potato goodness (https://www.billygoa...shop/1lb-kicker) I'm generally good with spicy, but I don't like vinegar based hot sauces (e.g. Tabasco) or the taste of peppers (as in, I'm fine with foods made with/from peppers but I wouldn't want to bite in to a piece of pepper). The chips look like a great snack. what would you like from the Weenies updatus giganticus??? Shockingly, I think I'm good. There are a few "hmm, maybe" scents, but nothing that makes me go MUST HAVE. I'm waiting for the BPTP update. 9/24/17 do you collect the art cards that BPAL sends out? Any in particular that you are looking for or definitely don't need? Nope Do you like this beautiful art, and she makes stickers and prints...SOOOO gorgeous: https://www.shannatr...om/paperprints/ There are definitely some pretty ones there. Nothing is a must have for me, but I do think they're generally nice. Favorite animals or wild creatures or mythological creatures? Dogs, wolves, some bats are pretty adorable, big cats can be gorgeous. I'm an ecumenical animal lover would you like any swag from the Depeche Mode concert? (pins, posters, shirts, program, dunno what they'll have!) No thanks, but have fun! Is anyone interested in the new Resistance scents that the Lab just released (Take a Knee and SN: Flor de Maga)? Take a Knee sounds good, and I love the cause. It's almost enough to make me break my I have too much and am not buying more rules. 9/23/17 Are you interested in anything from Bath & Bodyworks? Which products and scents do you like? www.bathandbodyworks.com/ So, I can't walk into a B&BW without my asthma going crazy, which means that I actually don't know if I like any of their stuff. If there's a significantly less strongly scented line, maybe? I am pretty content without it unless there's something there you think I *must* have I am possibly going to a crystal / gem show tomorrow. I can't afford expensive gem stones, but... What kind of crystals would you like? Um, I don't know crystals especially well. I think there have been some purple crystals featured in jewelry that I love, but I'm not really crafty enough to make my own jewelry. Not sure? Pumpkin or Zucchini bread? Yes What kind of homemade cookies are your favorite? Oatmeal chocolate chip, Mexican wedding cookies (under any of their million names), regular chocolate chip, anything heavily chocolatey, peanut butter cookies, ginger snaps. I enjoy most cookie varieties, really. Could you use a muscle rub? (We make ours on the lunar cycle and it has menthol, wintergreen, habanero, cayenne, olive oil, st. john's wort, arnica, beeswax, calendula, and ginger. It tingles. We call it "Thunder Butter". If you have really really super sensitive skin, I would recommend against it. And don't take a hot shower or open all of your pores before using it.) Hmm, maybe? I do have sensitive skin but it's usually not spices that aggravates it. On the other hand, somehow my father and husband have hoarded three things of tiger's balm and I have three menthol/vick's-esque balms as well, so maybe we should stop. Interested in trying some of our rose petal (rose petals, sugar, everclear) or lavender vanilla bean (lavender, vanilla bean, vodka) liqueur? Yes! Want some honey from the bees on our property? Oh wow, yes! So cool. Would you like some homemade jam? I have blackberry, rose petal, strawberry rhubarb, peach, and cherry. Sounds delicious. I will mention that while I love homemade foods, I do prefer not to get home-canned items unless you're pretty confident in your skills. No first time attempts, please! *ETA* I say this for safety reasons, not taste reasons. I'm down for home-cooked experiments, I just don't want botulism How about some homemade candied jalapenos with garlic cloves? I have regular and with habanero. I love spicy but hate the taste of most peppers so probably not. I didn't dry any apples this year but I was thinking of heading over to Green Bluff and seeing if any honeycrisps are left. I have a commercial dehydrator so let me know if you are interested in any "Apple Crips" (as voodoocatwoman calls them!) I wash, peel, core, and slice before dehydrating. Yum! Also, my kid is crazy into dried and freeze dried fruits, so I will take any and all varieties (except raisins, F raisins) Do you need any kind of dice bag, tote, project bag, cosmetic bag, pencil bag, or whatever? I have lots of bag patterns and fabric. We make bags under the name Twinkle N Twilight. Possibly! We use a fox patterned fabric (cute foxes, blue background) very similar to what's on your site for all of our son's food bags (i.e. zip-up fabric snack bags, fabric sandwich wraps, a wet/dry bag that we use to carry his snacks in the car), so something in that pattern could be very useful particularly if it can hold small food items or be used as a lunch sack. I'm also a frequent work traveler, so bags that can hold small tech items (e.g. usbs, cell phone power packs, and the million cables that go with all our gadgets these days) are always welcome. I probably have too many travel toiletry bags for my own good now, but I've always liked the dopp kit style like the black and white boxed bag on your instagram. Or how about a couple of pillowcases? Sure, but I'm fairly boring on that front. All of our sheets are black, white, or grey. Linen or cotton, though I'd be open to other fabrics if you have something you think it amazing. I use 5 pillows personally, so there are a lot of pillows to cover . On beds we mostly use regular size pillows. I suppose we also have several throw pillows if you meant that type of pillow. Oh, and I'm always meaning to buy a bolster to stick in the gap between our headboard and the mattress, so a case for that type of pillow could be useful 9/22/17 Would my witchee like this to warm up the fall coffee cup?? https://www.truelemo...gory-s/1871.htm No thanks. It looks nice, but I prefer fresh cider. do you like to take baths? if so, do you like oils, salts, things that fizz, all of the above, none of the above? I like bubbles. In fact, I love bubbles. I wish every bath included the type of bubbles ordinarily only seen in commercials and vintage pin up illustrations. All the bubbles! The problem is that most more natural bath products I've tried are sadly lackluster in the bubble department What style/make/etc of phone do you have? What about size of tablet? Laptop? Would you like decals, skins, or cases for any of these? Ooh, good timing, I was literally just poking around etsy trying to find a case for my new phone. I'm getting a fancy phone (a Pixel) for the first time ever. I like having Google branded phones because they have fewer built in crap apps on them and work offered to help pay for my new phone because my current one broke due to a work issue. My case type of choice is that type that flips closed (usually called wallet or portfolio cases), and it looks like nobody makes them for the Pixel. So, I've been scouring the internet looking for either a proper flip case or a back only case that is nifty enough to make me forget that it's not a flip case. Listen, it's the little things that keep me sane these days. 9/21/17 See's Candy. My absolute favorite. They have special Halloween candy..any of these pique your interest?? Cinnamon Apple Scotch Mallows, Pumpkin spice truffles, pumpkinspice lollypops, caramel apple lollypops, or any other of their chocolates, etc? pumkin spice truffles might be good. I don't like maple or caramel, so most of the other fall things are out. The fall brittle collection could be good (love toffee and brittles), but it's kind of weird that they don't list all the contents. Are any witchees into coloring books? Not especially, but my kid is just now getting into crayons so we could share. Witchees, is there anything that catches your eye at Animi Causa (https://www.animicausa.com/shop/)? Not really my style. The scratch off maps are semi-interesting and it looks like they have the same hair clip multi tool that think geek does. Otherwise, I try to avoid a lot of plastic in my kitchen and "cute" is just not my aesthetic. If I were to find an adorable autumnal/Halloween-y dish/flatware/etc. design, how many settings would be needed in your household? 4 9/20/17 Do you like Broadway shows/music? If so what are some of your favorites and/or ones that you hope to see or listen to eventually? Would you like merch from your favorite shows or CDs from shows you want to listen to? I enjoy classic musicals (usually ones that are so counter my personal politics that I have to hang my head in shame, see for example Seven Brides for Seven Brothers), but I'm not up to date on current ones and my husband (a drama nerd) has a serious hatred for some of the ones I like. Probably best to avoid, sadly. I'm heading to NYCC in October! Is there anything I can get my Witchee while I'm there? Uh, nothing I can think of off the top of my head. To be honest, my head starts swimming every time I attempt to look at the exhibitor list. Comics wise, I am a fan of Warren Ellis (though much of his stuff is too horror oriented for me), I *love* webcomics (waaaay too many to list, but some faves are Spike Trotman's sadly defunct Templar AZ , Something Positive, Kill Six Billion Demons has recently been added to my list despite occasionally being to gross, and I have a soft spot for pretty fantasy/porn/bdsm comics like I Roved Out and Alfie - try not to judge me too harshly for that one). *Edit* So of course the lab announced their exclusive scents, and I missed it before answering this. I would use Apple VII and either the Honeyed Apple or maybe the Black Apple and Patchouli hair glosses, but none of those are desperate wishes. I'm going to Edmonton Expo this weekend (It's Edmonton's version of comic con). Would a witchee like anything from there? See above, head swimming Anything catch your eye from this site (globalgirlfriend.com)? Too much. I didn't expect this to end up being such a rabbit hole for me. The Africa Camp Tee (XL), Buy Local and Save the Bees dishtowels, Ngamba baskets (any color), Ngamba trivet (blue), Guatemalan spiced trivet (blue), pot holder & cider sachet (blue), brownies, spice mixes, Afghan fluorite earrings, floating drops necklace, and sparkling strands necklace (turquoise) all made my "oh that looks interesting" list before I cut myself off from looking. Do you have any favorite, lesser-known stores? Especially ones that sell hand-crafted or independently made items. Not really, so I've really loved seeing everyone else's answers! Imagine you're going to the most gigantic art & craft show imaginable, and money is no object - what kind of things would you gravitate towards and probably spend money on? Include as specific as you want to get! I love art! We typically hang a lot of photography, interesting prints, and sketches from favorite webcomic artists on our wall. Right now, however, we're renting a house with walls that can't hold a frame, so all our hanging art is in storage . At our local arts market, I always check out: baskets, boxes, wooden spoons, pretty serving/tableware items, pitchers, earrings, necklaces, and hair toys. 9/19/17 Are you interested in anything from Think Geek? http://www.thinkgeek.com Oh think geek, how I love/hate you. I think the concept is *so* cool, but as a minimalist with some sustainability standards for stuff buying it's hard to find things that aren't useless knick knacks. I am feeling the need to flex my geekiness lately, though, and having a kid gives me a new interest in random toys/games, so I did a thorough look this time. Here's a long list from there. I didn't check prices, so forgive me if there's anything insane on here: - Shirts: No (1), Firefly Henley (between L and XL), Kid's No (this is never in stock, but if it ever comes back I think it's awesome) - Lounge pants: Constellations (2X) - Road trip: Star Trek Sun Shade, Power Banks (I collect power banks. I especially look for unique ones, solar ones, and high capacity ones. I'm an android user.) - Books: Hidden Figures, Women in Science, Otherworlds (AKA Pretty Space Pics FTW!), plus in general I love non-branded (ie not star wars/trek, disney, or other large brand) science themed board books for my kid if they add any (Baby Loves Aerospace Engineering is a fave around here) - Toys: Spirograph (I remember these!), space coloring book, 3D printer pen, weird puzzles (had a friend who used to be really into these), planet and constellation blocks - Random fun: multi-tool hair clips (in black please - I like random practical items and use this type of hair clip for work, so this intrigues me), planetary string lights, cold brew coffee infuser (I think a more pitcher-like bottle would be better, but this sure it pretty) Do you have something you wish you put on your original questionnaire/forgot to put/would like to add on to? I am quite sure you're sick of reading about me at this point and with all the previous years' worth of blogs I can't imagine I've missed anything. If I think of anything crucial, I'll add it here. Any additional misc. information about yourself you want your Witch to know? (I think this was on the survey, but again if there's something that you forgot...) I do these swaps primarily because I like the idea of a large number of people sitting around thinking about ways to make someone else smile. I am pro crafty-witch, broke-witch, and I-can't-craft-to-save-my-life-witch. I know it can be hard to send things to a picky minimalist so just know that I get as big a kick out of hearing from you as from getting stuff. If you could decorate your house (or one room) in any one theme, what would it be? Your answer can be as simple ("Star Wars" or "Baroque" or "Modern"), or complicated or a combination (e.g. Victorian Gothic) as you feel best fits. Edwardian industrial with a splash of tropical color? I've written pretty prolifically about this in the past (and I've got a ton of pinterest boards on decor), but I guess the best way to describe it is that I like classic, dark, minimalist underpinnings (e.g. vintage dark wood built in book shelves, old-school English kitchen cabinets, industrial metal shelving, art deco shapes) lightened up with sunshine, art, and intense color. Aprons: Do you wear them, do you want one? Utility, decorative, cooking or crafting? I've been hunting for a pretty one lately. Looking for something I can easily toss on in hopes of not getting that wet line on my shirt waist every time I do dishes. I think one that covers the whole chest/torso would be more useful than a half one. I like the idea of cross over ones that don't require a ton of tying, but I also think the more retro cutesy ones are kind of adorable. BTW, would my witchee be interested in something like this? (photo of black and white striped knitted doll) Not my jam specifically, but my kid might like it. On this note, back when the SW DIY board was added to pinterest, I went through and liked items that I thought could be cool. Now that pinterest has taken away the like button (because they're determined to make being on pinterest miserable), I have made the "pins you like" board public and continued to add pins from the SW board and people's personal DIY boards. There are some other random pins mixed in, but I think (hope) it's fairly obvious which are which. 9/18/17 It seems like there's a question about socks on the questionnaire, but I don't think it got down to this level: Do you wear them? Any particular style (crew length, knee high, anklet, boot, etc.) or fiber (wool, cotton, bamboo anything but wool, etc.) preference? Not often. I'm in the deep south, so the occasions to wear socks are rare. Would you be open to previously-loved books? YES! What about partial-full bottles of BPAL or BPTP? BPTP definitely. I'm actually not looking for more BPAL right now - I have a huge backlog of "to-sniff". So what are your favorite fandoms? Felt like I answered this in the questionnaire. In terms of products, since I mentioned t-shirts, I'll say that star trek, firefly, nasa, webcomic, and literary shirts are probably my geek shirt realm. 9/17/17 I'm in France at the moment, is there anything here you might like? I'm in Provence, the land of lavender, so if you like that flower in particular just say so! I use lavender bunches in little mini-vases on my kitchen window sill, so that might be cute! are you into divination? What kind(s) do you currently do? Do you want more books and/or tools for that type (e.g. new tarot cards, new runes)? Is there a new type of #divination you've been meaning to try, and if so, are you looking for the tool, a book on the subject, or both? No, looking into the future has too high a risk on unintended consequences. World my Witchee be interested in a Tarot or Astrology reading done personally? No Does my Witchee need any magical supplies? No, and please don't send anything with "intent" unless it's directly from a wish list of mine. I am very cautious about this type of product. Would you be interested in any of the seasonal (or regular) soaps from Cellar Door Soap (https://cellardoorbathsupply.com)? Cool stuff, but I don't use bar soap. 9/16/17 Favorite gemstones? Emeralds If you enjoy jewelry do you like discrete and elegant, flashy and gaudy, small and light, or large and chunky? Mix of both? I like statementy stuff made of small, elegant pieces. I have a lot on both etsy and pinterest Any love of pirates or SCA? YES!!! Is there anything you would like from Disney World? Not in particular Are you a Potterhead? If so, to which house do you belong? Nope, not my jam How do you feel about chokers? I like them (you'll find a few that I want in my etsy favs), but I find I don't wear them often 9/15/17 Here's a few questions from me: Would you like some Halloween or other themed decor in the form of a banner, something like this http://www.etsy.com/...n-decor-vintage? If so, would you prefer a traditional style or a vertical door type? These are actually quite cute! Probably best to stick with things that can go on a door for me. Do you live near a Trader Joe's? If not, are you interested in trying any of the numerous Pumpkin goodies they come out with this time every year? I do! In fact, since our grocery stores suck, it's typically my main grocery Do you like to cook and/or bake? Could you use any specific ingredients (spices, oils, salts, extracts, etc.) or kitchen utensils/gadgets? Yes! I really need a pepper grinder. A nice pastry cutter would probably get some love too. I'm always down for interesting grains (no quinoa), pastas, or spices. Unusual bean varieties might find some love (I'm a huge bean fan, but my husband isn't. Trying to find ones he'll eat). I have a number of lusts on the King Arthur website - esoteric baking ingredients for the win! I'm at Ocean City MD for bike week......would a witches want anything from here? Bike or beach related?? Don't know it well enough to say. Non-tacky beach stuff could be cool. What is 1 thing you would love to see in your final box? Can be ANYTHING - your choice. Something local to my witchy. Who would love some USPS eclipse stamps? Cool 9/14/17 Do any of you potential Witchees have any kitties, puppers, or youngling humans you want spoiled in your packages? What treats or toys do they like? Pup is a huge fan of treats, balls, and kongs. The other small creature likes building/manipulating toys (think duplos, oversized gears, lock boxes), musical instruments, and farm themed stuff. He's also recently discovered that chalk is a lot of fun and thinks books are the greatest thing ever. Is there any interest in any of the fragrance oils from the Nocturne Alchemy Weenies update? No Is there anything you want from the trading post (or trading post etsy) that is available to order right now? (Fatherhood, Puppers, normal GC things) Will have to come back for this. *Edit* Lilith: The Pillory and maybe Wednesday's Child... (again, not actively seeking perfume right now because I have a huge backlog); Puppers: Ella (sounds amazing), Pugsley, Wednesday. I have had my eye on the scoop neck version of the Molly Crabapple shirt for a while. 9/13/17 Are you a gamer? If so, what games are you currently playing and is there any merch for that game you'd love to have?- If you are a gamer do you have a steam/gamestop/amazon wishlist? Not really. Although, if there's such a thing as old-school Bard's Tale merchandise, we might have to talk How do you feel about the following scarf options (assuming you're into scarves)? I'm not usually into scarves cause I live in a warm climate, but that leafy one is gorgeous Simple eyelet scarf Chevron scarf Lacy and fuzzy Skinny rib knit (extra long for lots of wrapping) Leafy! Like beer? What styles most appeal to you? I do! I particularly like chocolatey and creamy stouts. I don't like hops, so IPAs are a no for me. Like booze? What kinds? Yes! Rum, gin, and whiskey are my favorites. Interesting syrups and the like are fun too. Like Wine? What kinds? Red, typically fairly dry. Would you be interested in a set of hand-made hair falls? It's something I do for fun and I can make any length and do an array of colors! Could be fun! For those who watch certain movies every year for Halloween, what are those movies, whether horror or not? Any favorite horror movies that aren't necessarily on the annual-viewing list? How do you feel about fan-made merch for these movies? I hate horror. Though I was talking with my husband about the Addams family movies tonight. Maybe we should start watching those for Halloween. We're both big fans. 9/12/17 Here's a great local soapmaker I love--y'all see anything you would like? https://littleseedfarm.com/ I don't do bar soap, but that is a cute store. I'd be up for trying the liquid soap (probably in the refill packaging - I have bottles), the detox scrub, the sugar scrub, and a sample of the deodorant. What are your favorite/preferred Halloween/autumn icons/images? Any to specifically stay away from? I like the vintagey look. I'm really not into gorey, kitschy, or horror themed stuff. I don't do too much in the way of cutesy, but wolves, bats, and even the occasional cat are ok. Do you eat candy, and if so would Halloween candy be welcome? Specialty candy from local or unusual sources? Chocolate? Yes, anything that's not too sweet. I admit to liking candy corn in small doses. Do you want Fidget spinners, desk toys, or other frivolous things that you look at and decide you don't need enough to spend $ on but would make you happy to have? Nope Any zentangle lovers, people who would like to try it, or would you want a piece of someone else's zentangle art? Never tried it, but I've seen some and thought it looked kind of interesting. Any love of hair toys, clips, ribbons, fascinators, mini hats, etc? Yes! Preferably sleek and elegant leaning. What local goodies may be of interest? Local Honey, jams, candy? ALL OF IT! I love getting a little picture of my witch's home. Are you interested in any prescription services like serial magazines, Birch box, ipsy? Every once in a while I look at quarterly (or whatever it's called) and think about it, but it's too pricey. Bark box is similarly too pricey. I gave up on snack boxes because they're hit or miss, and there's a lot of extraneous packaging. I've contemplated My Lit Box. I am 100% on board for grain subscriptions, fancy bean clubs, or other things in the CSA/honey subscription/pantry staples box vein. Would you like funky Halloweenie costume makeup like Gothic eyelashes, nail effects, black lipstick, etc.? Probably wouldn't get much use. How do you like to listen to music? CD, 8 track tape, mix tape, Pandora or Spotify, I-tunes? I mostly use Slacker, but mp3s and the occasional cd are welcome Do you prefer reading on Kindle or actual book? What kind of books do you like? Would you like to be surprised with a scary, classic, horror book? Actual book, by far. I feel like I've described my book tastes all up and down this forum, so I won't repeat myself. I will repeat my comment that I don't do horror. At all. Ever. Candles, Incense, or wax tarts? Do you have favorite brands or Weenies scents for the home? Would you like to receive a wax tarts burner, incense burner, essential oils diffuser, or Halloweenie themed candle holders? I guess an oil diffuser could be interesting. I don't do incense or wax tarts. I like candles but rarely get around to burning them, so I have a huge back stock. Plus, small climby child + open flames = bad. Witchee: are you interested in crafting materials? I like this idea in theory but I'm not actually competent at any crafts 9/11/17 I'm in Japan, is there anything specific from here you would want? I don't know enough about Japan to say How do you feel about nail wraps? Too much work if you were to receive something hand knit, what type of item would you like? hat, cowl, handwarmers, etc. and what color(s)? - would you use knitted washcloths? a scarf? Are you allergic or sensitive to any fibers? Cowl or handwarmers would get the most use of cold weather things since I live in the South. Some wool makes me itchy, but I don't buy or use enough knitted stuff to really understand what type. I would use knitted cloths. If you could be ANY character from a film, TV show or book, who would it be and why? I'll have to come back to this one *Edit* I mean, the problem here is that my favorite books aren't very nice to their characters. There's usually some big crisis or quest and, honestly, I'm just not up for that. Maybe an un-named extra from Star Trek. Life seems to be pretty decent in the distant future and there's not much crazy danger if you're not on a star ship. Librarian in charge of ancient histories on an obscure but pleasant planet in the Federation sounds delightful. If you could hop into a time machine and travel anywhere/anytime, where would it be and why? I'd be curious to see Ancient Rome since I was a Classics major, but I'd probably be the type of person who would have too many concerns about temporal rifts and the like to use said time machine. If you could invite 3 famous people to a BPAL meet and sniff, who would invite? Living or dead? I would have liked to have met Oscar Wilde, and I suspect he'd enjoy a good scent. Edgar Allen Poe would either be interesting or disastrous. I think the lab needs a line for NK Jemisin's books, so it'd be interesting to bring her to a MnS. Do you like and/or want anything from Elements and Artifacts? You can be vague like "yes" or "no" or name specific past pieces you coveted or current ones you love, whatever works best. I do like her stuff. I have several etsy favs from her. Would you like something hand sewn by your Witch? A dress, shirt, skirt, infinity scarf, something else? Sure! Always love handmade items. I am plus size, though, so maybe a bit more complex. Anyone want any kind of costuming accessories or makeup or odds and ends? Nothing specific comes to mind, but I do go to ren faire and will likely need a new costume for myself and something for the kiddo. I trend towards the pirate/explorer type costumes. 9/10/17 Are there any hobbies or crafts you've been thinking of trying, but haven't had the chance yet? I have considered picking up a half dozen crafts and then I either don't or do and suck at it. If you have a suggestion, I'm open to learning! Would you want to receive a custom spell kit or magical tea? If so, what purpose would you want it to be for? No. I prefer not to own items that have "intent". As I mentioned, I'm superstitious (not quite the right word, but not sure what other word fits). I believe that attempting to control the world in this way has a very high chance of backfiring/having unintended consequences. Similarly, I don't like to do anything that is intended to divine the future - I think it risks influencing the future poorly. Do you like poetry? Yes Anyone like handmade critters, stuffed animals, or custom repaints? Sure Would you enjoy any designer/specialty yarn for your own craftyness? I don't do any yarn crafts Would anyone like a donation made in their name to a cause or charity? Sure. Community based climate change action and environmental justice could probably use it right now. Net neutrality and health related charities are also high on my list. Refugees and famine victims could also use a hand. There's really too many these days... Please provide wishes from the last two updates? Will come back to this *Edit* Lilith: Huntress, Brunch Witches; American Gods: Eat the Strawberries. Again, I'm trying to behave myself and not buy new perfume, but, then again, I have never succeeded at that before. 9/9/17 Would you be interested in things from Future Primitive? (http://futureprimitivesoap.co.uk/) Huh, not familiar with them, maybe? Probably the bubbling bathing grains. All of the scents looks fine, but the Dust Witch one might trigger some allergies if the smoke/incense notes are dominant. Are there any UK things you'd like to get? I don't have any easily shippable, uk-exclusive items in mind that I'd like to get. If you're in the UK, then I'm certain that there are uk things that fit my general tastes which I would enjoy, but nothing specific jumps out at me. Are you into podcasts? If so, what are your favorites? Would you like any merch related to any of them? Sorry, no. My media of choice are books and the internet - specifically webcomics, the BPAL forum, the occasional blog (mostly minimalism/simplicity oriented), and, embarrassingly, twitter. I don't do podcasts, tv, or videos on the internet (well, that's not entirely true, my husband can usually get me to watch tabletop, titan's grave, and after hours or obsessive pop culture disorder on cracked). ILNP? Who would love one of their awesome holos like MEGA or one of their amazing chromes? http://www.ilnp.com/ WOW! I had sworn off buying nailpolish since I mostly don't get around to doing my own nails, but these are amazing. Maybe one? If I were buying for myself, I'd choose an on-sale polish with colors from my favorite clothing (cobalt blue, deep purple, ruby red, emerald green, and/or silver). 9/8/17 Do you enjoy stationery? I'm thinking cute/quality notebooks, washi tape, stickers, fun pens etc. I do! I lean more towards classic, steampunky, nature oriented, or travel oriented. Not really into the kawaii spectrum. I like practical items! Are you interested in anything from Cocoa Pink? Never really excited me. - Or Haus of Gloi? No thanks, not seeing anything I have to have this year. Would you be interested in a Halloween wreath? Yes! See the thread. Have you seen this: https://www.bustle.c...llection-80733? (Lush Halloween collection.) And what would you like? Not really. I found BPAL through Lush, but I tend to avoid it these days in favor of smaller etailers and more natural products. 9/7/17 Are you interested in anything from the Moonalisa Halloween update? I haven't really tried much of her stuff, but I'd be down to try the bubble bath (hooray bubbles!), salt soaks, carpet fresh (any of the fall scents), dusting powder, milk bath, sugarload scrub, and sugar scrubby scrub. Scent wise, I could try *maybe* Bayou Mist, Blackbread and Marmalade, Cinnamon Blackberry Crunch, Late Harvest, all of the Pumpkin scents, *maybe* Smoldering Havana Charmer, Where's My Pie, and *maybe* the Kitchen Witch scents. What are your coffee and/or tea preferences? - Coffee: whole beans or ground? - Flavor and roast preferences? - Tea: black, green, herbal, flavors? - Loose leaf or tea bags? - Anything specific you don't like? - Are you in need of any gadgetry? I've got a ton of beverages right now, so I'm mostly not looking (which is not to say I wouldn't enjoy them if I got them). Gear wise, I am trying to break the habit of buying bottled cold brew, so I'm definitely on the look out for a nice cold brew pitcher that will fit in my fridge or a cold brew filter that would fit in a separate pitcher without being a pain to store when it's not in use. Nice pitchers or carafes with lids would also be awesome. 9/6/17 How would you feel about receiving a hand-painted container for your bpal and/or other treasures? - would you want a big wood box (~50 bottles), a small wood box (~20 bottles) or a tin for carrying imps around? Hmmm, possibly yes. I don't need BPAL storage cause I've got a great box already, but I do like interesting boxes, pouches, tins, etc. Who is into K-Beauty (Korean beauty products like sheet masks) - What are your faves if you are? - If you aren't would you like to try something? Sure, haven't really tried any, but I'm down. What are some NEW things you've gotten interested in this year? Could be anything, from a new hobby, new genre of book, new healthy way of living, new fav brand of whatever... This is a really amazing question, and I need to think on it a bit. *Edit* To be honest, after much thought, I don't think there is anything. The closest two things are: 1. the number of natural disasters has increased my prepping tendencies a bit. We live in a hurricane prone area, so I'm trying to be prepared without going full bunker. I really wish that preparedness blogging wasn't the province of crazy conservatives and extreme back to the land types. I'd like sane, practical people talking about how to deal with being without power for 3 weeks in a medium size city without a bunker or an urban farm in your back yard. 2. I've started travelling a lot for work, so I've gotten in to figuring out how to make travel more pleasant and healthy. I got a frequent flyer points credit card, I'm *this* close to buying myself a face mask to wear on the plane, and I've started reading Road Warriorette. It's getting weird. 9/5/17 What are your feelings about Scooby Doo? Whatevs? Don't love it, don't hate it, get a kick out of the recent trend of Velma pin ups. How do you feel about indie makeup (read: loose eyeshadow, blush, highlighter)? I don't really wear make up much, sorry! I drink this stuff almost everyday would anyone else be interested in trying it out? [url=https://www.criobru.com/]https://www.criobru.com/

Hibiscus seeds? Torn. On the one hand, I'm a plant killer. On the other hand, hibiscus are some of my favorite flowers. Off-color needlepoint? I believe my opinion on this has been registered in the thread. For convenience sake, though, here it is again - some of it is awesome. I don't like trinkety things, but I would not be opposed to this. What interests you from the latest (pre-Halloween) BPAL update? From Lilith, I'd try decants of the following: - A Little More Tea - Conencting Flight - The Great Python Snake - Heel - My Little Grotesque - O Joy Of My Spirit! - The Great London Spaghetti Hunt - Tag-Upon-Avon Like beer? What kind? Booze? Same question! Yes, no IPAs. I like the extremes - super pale wits or chocolatey stouts. Booze, I love it. I also have a fully stocked (no, seriously *fully* stocked, citric acid anyone?) bar, so I'd prefer not to get more unless 1.) you made it or 2.) it's a cool local variety. I do not drink vodka or tequila. Knitted items? Type? Add me to the list of people who appreciate handmade goods but live in hot climates. I'm in Louisiana, we have very little winter. There are a handful of knitted items in my etsy favorites (mostly accessories and small creatures) that could be cool to get something similar to. Are you allergic to any fiber or do you know what kind of yarn you prefer? I get itchy with some wool, but I'm not a big synthetics fan. Not sure what's left after that. Caramel? With chocolate? Salted? As long as it's not too gloopy or over-sweet Would you want a quilted pot holder? Sure! Do you have any preferred flavor of shortbread? Nope, would be good with any flavor. Would you be interested in project bags/pouches? Sure, why not. Homemade Food? Yes to homemade food, but no canned/preserved goods unless you actually know what you're doing please. Is there anything you'd particularly like to get from the UK?/Is there anything you would like to get from Japan? For these and all other locality questions - I LOVE getting items that are local to you, but there's nothing in particular that I want from any specific places. Any local items that fit my other likes/dislikes would be perfect. Socks/sockdreams/etc? Again, I live in Louisiana. My son could use a pair or two of cute socks with grippy bottoms. We haven't bought him shoes yet since he's still learning to walk, but we do let him toddle about on our patio with socks on. Anyone a nail polish fan? What colors interest you? I have an extensive zoya collection, but it's getting a bit old and has been going unused because I never have time. I'll probably be taking advantage of the trade in to dispose of polishes without feeling guilty. That said, if you find anything really unusual (odd mattes, cool flaky glitter, etc.) I'd take it in red, purple, blue, or silver. . Would you object to re-using of clean mailing materials? Nope, and I'll also go on record as saying that I'm cool with all used items (books, clean body products, etc) Who here is a Raging All THINGS HARRY POTTER fan? Not me, sorry. Do you like things with Pumpkin (or Pumpkin Spice?) Yes. In fact, pumpkin pie (and it's sub-ingredients) is one of the only good things about fall. I will say, though, that when I do store bought "pumpkin spice" flavored things, I often find it too sweet. What types of things do you like to wear? My pinterest boards and etsy favorites do a pretty good job of sharing my tastes, and I've waxed lyrical on them in past rounds. I have a strict color scheme, shared in my questionnaire. I work from home, but I amassed a pretty extensive work and party wardrobe right before I switched to working from home. So, I feel bad buying clothing but also wish I had a few more casual items. I'm always on the lookout for good jeans, cozy but not too heavy pullover sweaters in my winter colors, and linen or nice sleeveless tops in my warm weather colors. I've also been searching for a red cardigan and black jewelry that would work for both work and casual occasions. I have been considering buying t-shirts with actual things printed on them - preferably in the webcomics/geeky range - but I always second guess it any time I start to buy something (I've put the Think Geek "No" shirt in my basket and then taken it back out so many times now, usually with the NASA onesies for kiddo making a joint trip. Also the blue version of the Oglaf Derp Fox Shirt from TopatoCo.). I prefer feminine cuts that are shaped but not too tight. I've also been on the lookout for good pajamas. Does anyone like fleece character hats? Like these: like-fleece-hat? What kinda characters would you like to see? For me, not really. For my kid, f-ing adorable, but I'm not sure he'd actually keep it on his head. Do you decorate for Halloween all year? If not, what level of decor do you have for Halloween? No, we don't. We've never really figured out our halloween decor. For a long time, we lived in apartments where we couldn't really decorate outside (and I don't have my act together enough for seasonal indoor decorating). Then, when we finally moved to a house where we thought we'd get trick or treaters, we started decorating only to have a family emergency that took us out of town 3 days before halloween. After that, we've thought "oh, we should decorate" but haven't really done it. Indoor/outdoor Halloween decorations? What do you do, and what would you prefer to receive? Outdoor. See above about not having my act together for indoor seasonal decor. Wreaths, solar or battery powered string lights, and small stand alone items (e.g. the little baby sugar pumpkins) or others things of those sizes/shapes/configurations would fit best on our porch. What's your preferred Halloween decor style: classic/traditional (skulls, pumpkins, bats), kitchsy/cute, retro, elegant/Victorian, horror/macabre? I like a more elegant look, but Halloween does cry out for a bit of whimsy. It'd probably work best to do something more fall than specifically halloween themed, cause I'm too lazy to change decor that often. Hubby and I are big Gomez & Morticia Addams fans. What's your candy preference? Chocolate. Then more chocolate. Candles, wax melts/tarts? No thanks Do you have an Etsy wish list, and if so, what's your user name there? Yes, linked in my sig. Tokyo Milk? Yea or Nay? Maybe the lip balms, otherwise nothing really catches my eye. If you're a writer type, would you like notebooks or journals? Utilitarian or fancy? Lined or blank? Tell me of your stationery lustings. I could use a cool planner. Something with calendar pages that have a lot of room to write things in. I could also use nice, blank note cards. If you want yarn, what colors do you want? Not a yarn user A color palette would be lovely if you use Pinterest. Or just want to post palette photos in your blog. My pinterest fashion board has a lot of color combos that I like, and my questionnaire and past swap answers give extensive info on the colors I use for my clothing and home. Are you interested in fabric? Again, what colors, what themes, etc. Hmm, maybe. I'm trying to get my act together to sew pants for my kid and pajama pants for myself, but it hasn't really happened. I'm a beginning sewing machine user, so nothing complicated to sew with. I prefer 100% cotton or other natural fibers. We buy a lot of geeky stuff for the kiddo (robots, dinosaurs, science jokes) and I like solid black or other dark colors for pajamas. If you could receive one handmade item - everything from knitted or crocheted gloves and scarves to sewn bags to fanart or original art, what would you prefer? Wow, this is an evil question. So great, too hard. I can get it down to 3, not in ranked order: 1. original art, 2. jewelry, 3. consumables (food, drink, bath, home good, whatever it is as long as it can be used up). Sorry for cheating so egregiously. What are your tea and/or coffee preferences? Loose leaf / whole bean or bagged / ground? Do you have a favorite type? Flavor? Retailer? No coffee, my grandparents own a coffee farm. I'm so over stocked on tea it's not even funny. I could use a sturdy pitcher or carafe with a top that could hold cold brew and ice tea in the fridge. What are your favorite fandoms, if any? Lots of webcomics (Queen of Wands, Something Positive, Questionable Content, Oglaf, and anything Spike Trotman of Templar AZ touches are favs), Star Trek, Firefly. BPTP products? Pre-owned okay? Sure, but I prefer sample sizes. Also, used everything is ok. Essential oils and aromatherapy oils- yay, or nay? I use 4 thieves oil as an everyday scent (and think the branded "Thieves" blend is bs). Eucalyptus is helpful for the winter months. Favorite animal? Dog love Twilight Alchemy Lab oils? No, and on that note I prefer not to receive any items of any sort that have "intent" or magical purpose. Elements & Artifacts has a fall/halloween collection up? Anything catch your eye?/And speaking of shops from BPAL folks, any favorites in the stores on the SW Stalking and Services Spreadsheet? I try to favorite items from etsy shops on the spreadsheet pre-round and periodically throughout. Mind you, I in no way expect you to buy those things (some are super pricey), I just think it's fun to look through everyone's craftiness. Also, just because something isn't favorited doesn't mean I don't like it. I just get distracted easy. In case you can't tell Haus of Gloi update is live tomorrow (the 25th)- is there anything you're interested in? Nothing in particular Ren Faire? Sure! Big Ren Faire fan (speaking of - have you hear the Rambling Sailors?) I like useful things (skirt clips, household goods), jewelry, consumables, and hair toys especially. I'm considering a piratey costume (the Navigatrix) so sailing and navigation themed items would be fun. Honey? Yes. I love all things honey, and my Father In Law is a mead maker. Coloring Books? I don't need them, but I think the adult coloring book thing is cute and wouldn't mind getting one. Kiddo is still too little. Would you be interested in Kings Game by Lisa Millraney Maybe. On the one hand, it looks cool and I love supporting other BPAL people. On the other hand, I don't have an e-reader. Do you celebrate Mabon? Would you like "witchy" or pagan decorations and objects? For example, pentacle wall hangings, mabon poppets, corn dollies, ritual candles, etc? No thanks (see "no items with intent" comment). Although, if you make these and are particularly excited, my FIL is a druid so I could maybe pass them on. Anyone hankering for Craftsy classes? Whoops, missed the sale. I don't see any must haves, but beginning sewing, drawing, wire-wrapped jewelry making, and photography could be cool. More advanced savory cooking is welcome too. Realistically, I barely have time to answer these questions, so... Would you be interested in any of the following: jigsaw puzzles; puzzle books (like word searches or crossword puzzles or suduko); coloring books; card games; board games? Card and board games for sure! We've got Forbidden Island, Cards Against Humanity, Apples to Apples, Wits and Wagers, Uno, Rumicube, and a million decks of cards/pairs of dice. We are always on the hunt for fun party and co-op games that don't take a million hours to play. Tarot/Cryptids No thank you. Weenies The beverages are catching my eye - Fizzy Jack O'Lantern, Pumpkin Latte, and Spiced Autumn Cider. Yipe has me wondering whether it will be amazing or gross. Oddly tempted by the Dead Leaves series. Something about that one is just calling to me this year. I vastly prefer decants to bottles (I have never finished an imp, let alone a bottle). Pepper powders? Sure! Nothing too spicy and not too much (I have a crazy overflowing spice cabinet right now). Erotica/BSDM Yes. For literature, I like things with a very strong non-sex plot where the sex is either important to the story or so hot you don't care that it's added in. I've read Meilin's Intimate History and almost all of the Kushiel/Naamah books. Something new would be appreciated. As far as non-literature items go, it'd be a bit odd for me actually. I could deal with cheeky or themed items ("It's not going to spank itself" underwear, Morticia and Gomez memes, etc.) but I wouldn't be particularly interested in receiving... implements? from a stranger. NYCC Scents? I don't do florals or leather, so it's a bust for me Would any witchees be interested in strawberry, pumpkin & apple, or milk flavor Pocky? pumpkin could be interesting Though I've been playing with sculpee lately and like making sort of character or fandom inspired bead/pendants, would that be something you'd like or have use for? maybe a pendant if it was subtle enough to pass for "regular" jewelry BPTP Weenies The dead leaves hair glosses sound interesting Witchee, would you like (would you wear?) a long wrap choker? here's a random image of one I found on google. Yes, I love that type of necklace. Ginger or spearmint? Typically mint. I do like gingerbread, though Commercial candles, etc? No thanks, the scents usually bother my lungs Thinkgeek sale Nothing that I'm absolutely crazy over, but there are some cool items - solar orbit necklace, planetary plush, planetary glasses, and maybe the lego bookends or the minibru coffee press. Do you subscribe to any boxes? What kinds of things do you like from them? I do not, but I've considered bark box and quarterly a few times (too expensive). I did try one of the snack boxes once, but it didn't work out for me. Rancho Gordos bean club and any similar things for whole grains are on my list to try Any makeup/body/skin type stuff you'd like to get samples of? Nothing in particular, but I wouldn't mind receiving them if you've got them to send. I'm following along with one of the master question lists, and I've noticed that it's out of date. I've tried to add missing things, but if I skipped something you care about just poke me.

Colouring? It was never my favorite activity when I was young, but I’m mildly amused by the adult coloring fad that’s going around. It could be a fun, low key hobby. I’d try it if you’re in to it, but don’t go out of your way. Wishlists? My etsy favorites and pinterest boards are linked in my signature. If you’d like a more traditional wishlist, I can set up a pinterest board or an amazon list. If you want me to look at a specific store, I’m also happy to just list things that interest me in my SW blog. Lush? Lush is how I initially found BPAL, but I stopped using them as my product tastes moved towards more natural things. I don’t shop there anymore, but there are things that I wouldn’t mind getting if you do. Specifically, I’m a sucker for bubble bars and I’m always on the lookout for solid products that I can use to avoid the whole 3-1-1 thing with TSA (e.g. Tooth Tabs and Shampoo Bars – never tried the tooth tabs; for hair stuff I liked Jungle, New, and Reincarnate. Looks like they may have a new dark hair one called Copperhead or some such). I’m not sure which things in particular are UK exclusives. Crochet? I live in the deep south, so most crocheted items aren’t great for me because they don’t play well with our weather. If you crochet and have an idea for something you think I’d like and that would be appropriate for warm temps, I’m always thrilled with handmade stuff. Allergies? I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. Comics/Graphic Novels? I have two shelves of unreads, but I’d still be thrilled to get Transmet, Sandman, Love & Rockets, or something you find personally exciting. I am also a huge webcomic fan (I have 20 “daily reads” plus assorted others that I read when I’m bored). Queen of Wands, Something Positive, & Templar, AZ are/were faves. Nail Polish? I am drowning in nail polish, so I’ll skip it unless it’s something awesome Crafty? Hello, my name is Vanesa, and I am the anti-craft. My perfectionism and lack of hand eye coordination don’t lead to particular skillfulness in the craft department. BPTP Products? Sure, but I tend to stick to decants because I never get through them all. Bath products, scrubs, atmo sprays, and hair glosses would all be cool. I once got a tissue tee as a gift that was very comfy. I’ve never tried their nail polish or jewelry, but I could be persuaded. Heh. Nail Wraps? No thanks. More trouble than they’re worth for me. Teas/Spices/Spice Rubs/Specialty Ingredients from a local tea & spice shop? I’m pretty overloaded on spices these days, so it would have to be something special. Tea would have to be ok for breastfeeding moms to drink (so many tea ingredients mess with supply L ). I can do loose or bagged. I love unusual ingredients of all sorts, so feel free to send specialty ingredients. Stuff for baking is usually good. I’m also trying to experiment with more whole grains (no rice or quinoa please). Local stuff is always a winner. Hmm, let’s see, related items: For other hot beverages, no coffee since I have access to insane amounts (my grandparents own a coffee farm). We drink a lot of hot chocolate. Anything in single serve packs is usually good. Speaking of spices - where's your spicy/heat threshold? (scale of 1 - 10 - 1 being nothing more than black pepper, 10 being ghost pepper+) I can handle 8-10, but I’m really happier in the 5-7 realm. It’s important to me that it be spicy and flavorful. I really hate foods that substitute heat when the flavor is boring. Also, I hate spicy chocolate. I can’t handle anything that would transfer the heat to my fingers right now because it causes trouble when I’m breastfeeding (spicy nipple anyone?) Preferred book format? Physical, PDF, Kindle, etc? I like physical books. I spend so much time in front of a screen that books are a necessary escape. I do read Meilin’s Intimate History, but that’s pretty much it for long-form fiction in an electronic format. Handmade critters? Not really my bag, but it might be fun if you could make something baby safe for the kiddo. It would have to be something that could stand up to being chewed ‘cause he’s entering the stick everything in his mouth phase. He’s too young to have favorite animals or creatures, but he’s already been given a lot of fox, dinosaur, lion, hedgehog, and elephant themed items, so those critters would certainly fit in. Since this is the Spring Fools' round, is there anything that goes with the theme of April Fool's Day or spring that might be fun to add to your package? Not in to April Fool’s at all (I get serious vicarious embarrassment when watching other people get subjected to pranks. It’s super anxiety inducing). I do love spring because it means we’re one step closer to summer, which is my favorite season. I’m sort of a plant murderer, so seeds may not be a great idea. A plant that can stand up to some abuse would be fine. Cut flowers are always nice (no lilies, please, I’m allergic). What I could really use is solar powered string lights or garden lights (the kind that are just a light on a stake that sticks in the ground). Our new place doesn’t seem to have an outdoor plug. Pet owners - would you like any kind of toy or supply for your pet? Maybe. Toys wouldn’t be a good idea, but a consumable treat very early in the round would be fine. He’s not projected to be with us for much longer L Geek paraphernalia! Hmm, this is a hard one. On the one hand, I’m totally geeky. On the other hand, I tend not to like the type of items that seem to be available to show geeky interests. I don’t like knick knacks, home décor wouldn’t be a good choice because most of our stuff is more formal, I don’t carry bags/purses, I don’t generally wear t-shirts that have things on them (although I have a BPAL shirt that was gifted that I love, so who knows), and geeky jewelry tends to be more cutesy than I generally go for. The best bet for geekiness would be kid’s stuff (e.g. clothes, toys, or science and computer programming baby books – they do exist!) or maybe practical geekery (I can always use durable cell phone charging cables, innovative methods for cleaning the computer, solar chargers for portable electronics, or emergency preparedness items). As far as geeky interests/fandoms, hubby and I are both into Star Trek, I read a lot of sci-fi/fantasy (my fav authors should be listed in one of these answers somewhere), and we’re both fans of nifty astronomy, women in STEM, and internet/computer themed stuff. Does Reading Rainbow count as geeky? I’d break my t-shirt rules for Reading Rainbow. Any yarn, plastic, metal, or fabric sensitivities? Nothing specific, but I do struggle with finding some yarn scratchy. Pretty stationery/note cards Cards that I could use for swaps like this would be very useful. Pretty paper is gorgeous, but I never really have anything to do with it. If you could have any BPALs right now (GC, LE, HTF) what would they be? To be honest, I’m sort of drowning in perfume. If you could find Needle in a Haystack, I’d be thrilled. Otherwise, there’s nothing I’m really dying for. Any places you would like gift cards from? Amazon, PaintBox SoapWorks, Thriftbooks.com, Trader Joes, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Ureshii, local spas (Bumblelane or Paris Parker in Baton Rouge, Woodhouse or Lux in New Orleans), any stores that you think “wow, she’d love this!” Do you wear make-up? Any brands you like? Color preferences? I’ve never quite figured out how to use make up well. Junk food and candy? It certainly won’t be wasted, but I just did a candy swap so it’s not something I’m hankering for. Witchee, regarding your fave TV shows, would you be interested in the associated DVDs? Fan books? Only one I can think of would be Myth Busters. We’ve got the 10th Anniversary Collection, but I’d love any of the other DVD collections. Kitchen Stuff I’ve got a pretty well stocked kitchen, but there are some random items I’d enjoy if you happen to bump in to them: a nice pastry brush, a butter dish that would be ok in a hot climate, a 2+ cup anchor hocking measuring cup (one of the classic ones with the red numbers), one of those Alton Brown style plunger measuring cups, a nice apron that is fairly full coverage, and pretty/practical table linens (napkins, tablecloths, placemats, etc). Tiny juice glasses or a set of zombie glasses would also be winners at our house. Black, silver, grey, or blue are usually the best choices for kitchen stuff. Garden/Plants I think I addressed this pretty well above. Unkillable, child/dog safe plants would be ok. I definitely need some solar powered lights. Mosquito killing/repelling items are also a pro for us. If I were to make you something based on one or more interests mentioned in your Q'aire/blog, would you prefer something you could wear, something that hangs on a wall, or something that sits on a shelf (or couch or wherever) ? Huh, hard question. I’d say something that I could wear or use would be best. I need throw pillows if that’s your skill set (grey, black, or red). That said, I’m all for paintings or other hangable art work if that’s what you do best. I love other people’s talents. Are you in need of BPAL storage? Nope. I’ve got my BPAL storage sorted. Other types of attractive storage might be useful, though. I’ve been looking for pretty apothecary type jars for cotton balls and bath goodies in my bathroom (relatively short cause they have to fit on the shelf). I’m also looking for something attractive to hold non-refrigerated produce like onions, potatoes, and bananas. Do you like candles? Incense? Wax melts? No thanks. I don’t use incense or wax melts, and I may be guilty of having an entire shelf of candles I haven’t used yet BAGS! Do you like/want/need any kind of bags? I don’t use purses, and I’m pretty stocked up on totes. The only kind of bags I could really use are bags for travel. I’m dying for a weekender bag in canvas or leather if you happen to have one lying around (ha!) and little zip pouches or dopp kits could be useful. I tend to like the type of travel bags that you could imagine Don Draper using – classic, leather or dark canvas, tailored, masculine. What style of bag from here (if any) would you like? You can easily narrow down the choices on the side menu - but I only want to know the style, not the pattern! Neat store, but see above. With that in mind, the clutches are probably the only thing that would see use. Here's a question. I make handmade journals/albums/smashbooks/junk journals. Would you be interested in anything like that? Sure. I don’t have any immediate use for such a thing, but I do love handmade stuff. If you like Harry Potter stuff, what house do you belong in? If you like Game of Thrones, what family? Not my fandom. Sorry. What's your favorite animal/totem? Would you be interested in a small figurine of said animal from this etsy user? Pretty stuff, but probably not for me. Anything exciting to you in PBSW's Spring Collection? April Fool and Bramble & Apple both sound lovely. I like bath streusel and her sample size sorbettos. Witchee, are you interested in this kind of music (it's one of my favorites)[Tartanic - uncivilized]? I do enjoy Tartanic. I’m a ren faire fan and my hubby’s ancestry is half Scottish, so we enjoy that sort of thing. If you’re familiar with a lot of ren faire musicians, we’re also big on Rambling Sailors. Oh dear Witchee, how do you feel about Sakura Matsuri? Do you like Green Tea and Sakura flavored desserts/treats? Decorations or jewelry with a cherry blossom theme? Indifferent? It’s not something I’m excited by, but I also haven’t had much exposure Hey, witchee! If I were to send you a garment, what size would I send? Usually an 18/20, but I’m a petite plus size hour glass, so standard sizes can be funky. Happy to look at a size chart if you want me to It's Hottie Friday, witches and witchees! Name a famous crush or five Oh gosh, this is something I always struggle with. Um, let’s see: 1. Gina Torres 2. George Clooney (didn’t like him before, but he’s aged well) 3. Idris Elba 4. Paul Newman 5. Angelina Jolie Also - what are the last 5 songs that appeared on your random or shuffle music list. I only stream during the day, so I’ll have to come back to this. I’m pretty eclectic, though. If you should happen to be my witchee, are there any items in my store that you would like? Nut-Made by LisaNut Hmm, looks like most of them would really be suited to colder places than here, so probably not. Oh Witchee, have you seen the kimono tops that are all the rage right now? Would you like one? I will sew you one if you do, just tell me if you're a fringe or lace edge or plain edge type of person- I have your color picks from your questionnaire, unless you'd like it in something different than those? Kimono and dolman sleeves are usually a no for me. I could probably pull it off as a robe, in which case lace would be nice but not necessary. I was thinking about busting out the sculpy clay - I sometimes like to make cute little fantasy miniature sculpture, like fairy doors, or miniature garden gnomes for potted plants, or I've even made a couple of tiny smaug's based on this cartoon. If you were my witchee, how would you feel about receiving some tiny fantasy art for your home? Any preference between a fairy door, or a garden gnome, a tiny fairy box, or something like smaug? Smaug is pretty cute. A fairy door would probably be my second choice. If you won a gift certificate for $100 (Or similar amount in your country) that could be used ANYWHERE what would you get? Massage and a pedicure. Something that you look forward to each spring, or that when you see it (hear it/smell it/taste it, etc) you think "Yes! Spring is here!" or something along those lines! Mardi Gras. When I first moved to Louisiana it was one of my favorite things about the season. I lived in a neighborhood (the one we just moved back to actually) with a parade, so a few weeks before the parade people would start cleaning up their yards, decorating for the parade, and generally coming out of their winter cocoon. The neighborhood is one where people spend a lot of time on their porches, and it seems like the parade prep often marked the return to porch sitting. Witchee, how do you feel about this type of garment? What color & size would you like? (keep in-mind it does say it runs one size big!) Huh, not my usual jam, but it looks super comfy. Based on the reviews, I think a large in black should work. Are there any mythical creatures that you're really into and that you would enjoy gifts relating to? Hmm, not really. Although, I do have a random soft-spot for recipes based on fantasy novels, so if you have hobbit inspired food related stuff why not? Returning to the music question I skipped, here are the last five songs played by the streaming radio station I listen to: 1. Chanson d'Acadie - Beausoleil 2. Love Me or Leave Me - Nina Simone 3. Extraordinary Machine - Fiona Apple 4. How Can You Mend a Broken Heart - Al Green 5. Life by the Drop - Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble

24. Ok, so we've covered pumpkin. How do you feel about the other fall classic – apples? I love bpal apple scents, but I’m otherwise kind of meh on apples. They’re ok, but I prefer almost any other fruit. That said, if you have some kind of delicious apple something that you think I must try, by all means send it. ETA: despite my opinion of apples, I love apple sauce. 25. Do you have any fabric or skin-contact aversions? Nothing serious. Wool can be very itchy, but I think that’s true for almost everyone. I tend towards more natural fibers, but I’m not actively opposed to synthetics. 26. How do you feel about Christmas/Yule ornaments? Not really into them, but I do enjoy twinkle lights. Also, lately I’ve been liking the idea of natural wreaths/garlands. I can never find any that aren’t a billion dollars. 27. How do you feel about Hello Kitty, and Hello Kitty accessories (including mugs, cups, etc)? Nope, most cute shit is lost on me unless you plan to send me a puppy. 28. If you had a week free where you could learn anything, with no financial restrictions, what would you want to study? Uh, everything? The big problem isn’t money, it’s time. Languages (Spanish, Italian) would top the list, then history/archaeology, then blacksmithing. I'd like to pick up at CPA at some point too (yes, I think accounting is interesting). I would love going back to college just for the classes. I don’t miss the rest of college but going to learn something new every day was awesome. 29. Do you enjoy poetry? Who are your favorite poets and what type of subject matter do you like? I do, but I think poetry is meant to be performed. Reading poetry can get dull. Listening to it is awesome. 30. Would you enjoy receiving something related to a favorite Disney character? I wouldn’t be opposed, but I don’t know that I really have a favorite character. I like the girl squirrel in Sword In The Stone 31. How do you feel about cute things as decorations or accessories? (Example: Would you enjoy this stationery - or do you prefer elegant/creepy/neutral stuff?) Nope, no, not of interest. Do not like cute things. Elegant, eclectic, natural, dark, bright – all ok. Cute = evil. 32. What is something you'd really like to recieve from your witch? Please be as specific as possible - no, "Oh whatever she thinks is fine!" Something that reflects one of your own interests. I love it when people send me things that they sincerely love and want to share with me because they think I might love those things too. Good night, this is a lot of questions. My eyes are blurring... 33. Go to your music source of choice - on random or shuffle setting if possible - & share with us the 10 most recent songs/artists. From my Slacker stations. I just put down songs that caught my ear. The first six were of the badass lady variety, so I decided to continue the theme: 1. Red Hand - Screaming Females 2. Only Happy When It Rains - Garbage *3. Parlez-Nous a Boire - Beausoleil 4. Walkin' After Midnight - Patsy Cline 5. I'd Rather Go Blind - Etta James 6. No More Trouble - Erykah Badu 7. This One's From the Heart - Tom Waits (w/Crystal Gayle) 8. Jolene - Dolly Parton 9. Lonely Anywhere - The Everybodyfields 10. Gracias a la Vida - Mercedes Sosa 34. Tarot cards, rune stones and/or other divination tools yay or nay? Nope, see above about not tempting fate by thinking I know the future 35. Do you have a Celeb crush? or someone who you just can't get enough of....other than your SO Meh. I mean, there are definitely folks I find attractive (Angelina Jolie) or appreciate for being awesome even if they’re not my physical type (Jennifer Lawrence) or both (Gina Torres, wowza). The dude who plays Thor is very, very easy on the eyes. Mark Ruffalo also does it for me. He’s my physical type (although, with an uncomfortable dash of reminding me of my dad, which is creepy). That said, I’m not much of a celebrity crusher. I appreciate the eye candy or the goofy adorability, but I don’t get full on lust. If I were to sleep with a random celebrity, it would most likely be a musician I adore. Tom Waits isn’t especially pretty, but I think my (straight) husband and I would jump in bed with him in a minute. 36. Glitter? are you okay with it, or hate it like the plague? I don’t despise it, but I also don’t go gaga for it. It can be fun. 37. If there was another time period other than now that described your style/aesthetics, what would it be? Clothing wise, I think I’m good in the present or recent past where a woman can live in jeans all the time. House style wise, the Edwardian era or the 1930s. 38. If you had to pick one or two quotes to live by, what would it be and why? I hate this question. It happens nearly every swap and every time I’m stumped. I’m an avid reader, I love words, but picking out quotes just paralyzes me. 39. Do you prefer physical books? CD books? eBooks? If eBooks do you have preferred format, kindle/nook/kobo/PDF/ePub/ect? eAudio? Physical books, digital everything else. Books are how I escape from my computer/smart phone where I spend the rest of my time. 40. Smut! Yes or no? If yes, what kink, er, kind? Absolutely. As far as specific kinks go, I’m a fan of BDSM and spanking stuff – female sub preferred but not necessary. Since it’s semi-related, I am a fan of Meilin’s Intimate History series, so, despite my general distaste for ebooks, I would make an exception for her work. 41. Ebooks! Yes or no? Nope Nope, see above 42. If you were to get a custom bottle from House of Gloi made for you what notes would create your perfect blend? Uh, maybe Chocolate, Cardamom, and Woodsmoke. Maybe. 43. If your witch were to take a photograph (or paint or whatever) of something just for you, what would it be? Landscape? Flower? Critter? Something to illustrate a favorite quote? Landscapes are awesome. I like moody portraits. I’m a sucker for dogs. 44. What is your favorite Halloween animal or other symbol/decoration? Halloween doesn’t do much for me. The rest of my family hated it when I was younger, and I’m too introverted to really get into it. I used to love handing out candy and seeing kids get excited, but, other than that, it doesn’t do much for me. My father-in-law is adorably into it and my hubby can get in to the act too when they’re together, but my mother-in-law died a few days before last Halloween. That’s sort of killed the festivities on that side of the family too. Hubby and I are Addams Family fans, so I can imagine some fun stuff in that vein showing up around this time of year. 45. Makeup, especially of the indie variety. Nail polish, nail wraps, eyeshadow, lipstick/gloss, etc. Y/N? Specific preferences (color, finish, product, brand, etc.)? The only thing in the makeup realm that I actually want right now is matte nail polish. 46. How do you feel about profanity and off-color humor? I’m just fine with it if it’s executed well. I don’t appreciate potty humor or racism/sexism/cruelty with humor window dressing, but I’m not bothered by cursing and I love dark humor. 47. I make hairsticks...would you like/use them? Sure! 48. Does anyone here LARP? If so, what kind of LARP? And what kind of character do you play? Nope 49. Would you completely freak out if I sent you a chocolate covered scorpion or some other food oddity? This includes things like 'bacon powder' from thinkgeek.com. Completely freak out? No. When it comes to food oddities, you’re 50/50 on whether I think it’s the coolest thing ever or psych myself out before trying it. Bacon powder does not entice. 50. This has kind of been covered, but, are you ok with receiving canned jam (from a veteran jammer!) and if so, what flavors would you like and not like? Yes! If you know what you’re doing, I’m pro handmade foods. I like berries. I’d be curious to try tea flavors. 51. Let's talk nail polish. What colors do you love? Hate? Which brands are you dying to try? Have you ever used indies? Do you like glitter? Any textures to avoid (glitter, sand, etc)? I’ve got a sizeable collection of Zoya plus a handful of Julep and Nfu Oh. Mostly red, purple, blue, and silvers. 52. How do you feel about getting a special Halloween plushie? I’d probably think it was adorable and then not know quite what to do with it. For someone who hates knick knacks and isn’t in to Halloween, I’m surprisingly not opposed to the idea. 53. I'm in Japan, anything specific you might want from the land of the rising sun? Translation/identification services. I inherited a mystery bottle of something (fish sauce? Liquor?) from Japan when my little brother died in 2012. The entire label is in Japanese. I would love to know what it is and whether there’s any chance it’s still good two+ years later. 54. Are there any GC scents that you know you love, but for whatever reason, keep putting off buying bottles of? Not that I can think of. 55. I know not everyone likes Lush products, but if you do, which Lush items would you like to get from your Witch? I’m pretty stocked up on Lush and I work with someone who also has a part time job there. If buying Lush is a big part of your plan, I’ve been planning to pick up shampoo bars. I stopped using them because of the SLS, but TSA has me looking for solid everything and I’ve never had good luck with other brands. New is a favorite. Also Jungle. 56. Is there anywhere (in the US) that you are dying to get away to? Also when would you be able to get away. Would this even be something you were interested in? If so, go look at the Southwest sale for routes and dates and times. Heh, what an awesome idea. I’d like to go visit my mom in Florida – Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville airports are all close to her. 10/16 – 10/19 works for me, but I don’t know if it works for her. If not, I have a friend who lives nearby. I would also like to go to Savannah sometime. Haven’t been since I was a teenager, and I remember liking it. 57. If you are ok with receiving t-shirts, what size are you, do you prefer tissue tees, normal crew tees, babydoll etc? I don’t wear a lot of t-shirts, but I am sorely lacking in lounge wear, so I guess I could use a handful. Tissue tees with v or scoop necks are preferred. XL is probably the best bet. For really fitted stuff, I’m happy to give you my measurements. 58. THINKGEEK! Who loves it - do you have a wishlist on there?? What are some things you are jonesing for on there for under $20? I’m iffy on thinkgeek. I love the idea, and middle school me would have thought it was the coolest thing ever. Adult me sees a lot of stuff I don’t need probably manufactured under questionable circumstances . Still, there are definitely things on there that are pretty cool. The plus-size women’s Meh shirt and the titanium straw are the most interesting <$20 things right now. 59. Zombies, yes or no? Yes but kind of feeling burnt out on them and don’t like gross zombie art. 60. Would you like arm warmers/fingerless gloves? If so, what length? just beyond the wrist, almost to the elbow, full sleeves? Sure. Almost to the elbow or just beyond the wrist are both good. I’m too petite for full sleeves. 61. Do you feel a particular affinity for a specific animal/s? I obviously love dogs. I’m pretty much an ecumenical animal lover otherwise. 62. Anyone have any Paintbox Soapworks loves? I’m a huge PBSW fan. Her clean slate scrub is one of my few stockpiled batch items. I also love sorbetto – Indian Summer, Guy Fawkes, Aquae Sulis, and Halcyon are all of interest. I prefer the sample size, and I don’t really do bar soap. 63. How would you feel if your witch or a minion of your witch showed up in person at your house with goodies? Thrilled? Annoyed? Completely creeped out? Surprised. I’m not opposed to it, but I think I’d rather meet up at the coffee shop on the corner. Gives me a chance to get out of the house (I work from home) 64. Do you have a ravelry account? Tell me about your yarn obsessions. Nope 65. Sock Dreams, yay or nay? Yay. They’re a great company, but I’m pretty stocked up on stockings at the moment. 66. Knitted items like scarves, shawls, dishclothes....yay or nay? Favorite fibers? Favorite colors? Sure. I think the fabric/color/want questions have all been answered. Do keep in mind that I live in the deep south, really heavy winter gear will get limited use. 67. Is your Amazon WL up-to-date? I don’t have one. On the subject, Amazon gift cards are a regular perk at work and therefore not a big draw for me. If you’re looking for random wishes that aren’t to be found on etsy or in my various questionnaires, I can add that list here: 1. Drawstring pajama pants 2. A sleeveless night gown 3. A massage, there’s a Woodhouse near me which does online gift cards 4. Pilates classes, I go to NOLA Pilates 5. Pillows that don’t suck 6. Throw pillows for my couch that don’t suck That’s pretty much all I can think of in the realm of completely random yet buyable wishes. 68. If you were to receive handmade caramels, would it matter if they were made with raw cream (unpasteurized)? Nope, as long as you know/trust the dairy. 69. Would you enjoy getting a sampling of quality incense taken from various sources? Are there types of incense you know you don't like? Would you want a burner for loose incense and a few charcoals to get you started with that, or would you rather stick to simpler types? No thanks 70. I know we already had a question about needed kitchen accessories, but what about spices? YUM!!! Cumin, Za’atar, Ras al Hanout, and other spices or blends of that nature would be wonderful. 71. Would you like handmade stationary or cards? How about a quill pen? I might enjoy small quantities. I think that kind of stuff is very pretty, but it doesn’t get much use in my house. 72. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being "gimme that ghost pepper!" and 1 being "oh, that's a bit too much black pepper for me" Where is your heat tolerance? 3 or 8 depending on the day 73. What is your favorite type of Halloween candy? For all my hippy food tendencies, I still have a weakness for the mini-Reese’s. My hubby is a fan of Dots, and I usually steal a few while he’s munching. 74. Do you need or want any cosy footwear, like fluffy slippers, or slipper socks etc? No thanks, I hate having things on my feet. I just found out that my Pilates studio is going to start requiring socks on the machines, and I am devastated. 75. What do you most look forward to each Fall? I don’t. Fall and Winter suck. I used to enjoy Thanksgiving because it was my mom’s favorite holiday, but she can’t handle it anymore now that my brother is gone and it’s sad without her. Fall is just generally depressing for me, and Winter is even worse. I can’t wait for them to be past! On the plus side, the Weenies are always a good update for me. 76. What gadgets do you use in your everyday life and would you like a cool case for them - with your favourite fandom or artwork or saying? I actually already have a case for my phone that I really love, so I’m good here. 77. Are there any beauty accessories you need or would like? For example make-up brushes, facial brushes or eyelash curlers. Hmm, someone mentioned wand caps for BPAL. I could use a handful of those. Otherwise, the only thing I can think of is a beauty accessory for my dog – a soft brush that straps on your hand. I guess I’m not much for beauty implements, sorry L 78. Would you be disappointed to get one big box, or would you prefer a bunch of little ones? And would you be disappointed if your witch actually had it together early and sent it to you sooner than later? Whichever you prefer J 79. Stores are putting out their halloween PJs and undies! Would you be happy to get any in a package? And if so, what size? For PJ pants, do you like cotton or flannel? No undies, please. Drawstring PJ pants would be nice if you can find big comfy ones. 80. Do you like M&Ms? I’m pretty indifferent to them, but my hubby loves them. 81. How about wax melts? No thanks 82. Would you like a subscription for Spotify? I don’t do Spotify. I do have a Slacker Plus subscription. They have a Premium option for about $5 more per month. It’s not something I would expect from a swap like this, but I certainly use the site enough. 83. What scents from the Lillith update would you like to try? Avunculus, Goofballs, and Blueberry Picking sound interesting, but I probably won’t bother with decants because they’re a bit on the floral side which can be hit or miss for me. 84. Would you be interested in receiving a box of sugar cube skulls? No, no skulls 85. Skin care routine? Fave cleanser? Toner? Moisturizer? What about body lotions? Any particular brand or scent? Lip balms? Yay or nay? PBSW Clean Slate cleanser, Wild Root’s Witch Hazel Hydrosol as a toner and for extra cleansing on sweaty days, and a simple, handmade moisturizer that I only use during winter. I also have a facial serum, but, after much experimentation, I don’t really see what all the fuss is about. I don’t bother with body lotion. I could use a nice body powder, though. Regular lip balm is a no because I have SO MUCH, but, if you’ve got a favorite for hard core moisturizing without that rebound dryness that so many of the intense ones cause, I’m definitely interested.. 86. Is there anything you would like from Salem MA (mugs, keychains, postcards, etc.or witchy supplies like incense, candles, books)? Nothing in particular, but I’m not opposed if you see something you think I’d like. 87. Would you be interested in any of the items in LisaNut's etsy shop? I favorited items from forumite etsy stores at the beginning of the round. Some of Lisa’s stuff is quite pretty, but they are mostly the wrong colors for me. 88. Spiders (as in cute knit kind) yes or no? Not on my list, but no objection. 89. Pillows (the mostly decorative type)? You already know that I’m looking for throw pillows! Crocheted, black leather, and red or grey velvet are all of interest. 90. Any kind of bags - big, small, medium, purse, grocery, etc? We’re pretty stocked up. 91. Is there anything special coming up in your life? Nothing in particular. 92. Which one scent would you want from each of the following updates: Metamorphosis, Lilith and GC? 93. Are you interested in anything from NYCC? That apple hair gloss sounds lovely, and Dew Drop Inn would be awesome if it were a perfume. Otherwise, I’m a comic and book fan, so I’m sure there would be some things that fit my previously mentioned interests. 94. Would something from the Tokyo Game Show (e.g. postcards, fans) possibly interest you? No thanks 95. Would you enjoy any of these couple rings? Or anything from the same store's Halloween collection? Hubby would probably love it if we ended up with any of the Cara Mia/Mon Cher stuff, but I can’t imagine actually wearing it. 96. If you imbibe at all ... preference between: wine/beer/cocktails and then glassware and/or bar-ware? cocktail gadgetry? Books on the subject/recipes? would you want sample bottles of local/regional/small batch craft spirits if they were home decanted and labeled? Goodness that’s a complex question. I’ve already told you about my booze preferences and sent you a picture of my crazily stocked bar. Local/regional stuff is always welcome and the only glassware I’m missing are zombie glasses. 97. Would you like some chai, lemon, rose water or other flavored sugar cubes? Heh, this is going to sound ridiculous, but I actually have too many sugar cubes right now. I love to try homemade creations, but please keep it small. 98. Jamberry nail wraps? Too much work since I don’t own a hair dryer 99. If you had to choose one currently available book (used-but-obtainable counts if you do used) costing $20 or under for your Witch to buy for you, what would it be? Night Watch – Terry Pratchett 100. Are there five things under $25 at Birchbox you would like? https://www.birchbox.com/shop/featured/25-and-under-1/one-love-organics-cleansing-sponge https://www.birchbox.com/shop/featured/25-and-under-1/clarisea-instant-glow-powder-exfoliant-face or https://www.birchbox.com/shop/featured/25-and-under-1/clarisea-rapid-detox-charcoal-exfoliant-face https://www.birchbox.com/men/featured/25-and-under/quirky-wrapster https://www.birchbox.com/men/featured/25-and-under/ursa-major-essential-face-wipes https://www.birchbox.com/men/featured/25-and-under/herban-essentials-towelettes 101. Do you want anything from the Fatherhood update at the Post? Morning in New Orleans sounds amazing 102. Street art! Into it? Not into it? Meh? Yes, when it’s good. My dad’s twin brother was a muralist 103. If you could only pick one note that you love (e.g. Vanilla, Orange, Lavender, Rose) & you could only wear/have perfume, etc in that note, what would it be? Hmm, chocolate is my favorite but it’s better with other things mixed in. So, for a single note to wear all year long, probably cinnamon

1. Pumpkin Food and scents, yes. Decor, meh. 2. I currently have a CSA and my significant other is perpetually out of town for work, so I've been doing a lot of canning and baking with my vegetables. How do people feel about canned good (pickles, salsa, etc) and vegetal baked goods (squash bread, zucchini bread). Hooray CSAs! Baked items are always welcome. As far as other homemade goodies go, I’m cautiously open. I love people’s kitchen experiments, but I live in a hot place and am painfully aware of how badly preservation attempts can go awry. If you’ve been canning for a while and it’s a low risk item, bring it on. If this is one of your first attempts, maybe not such a good idea – a trip through the mail in this heat could grow some icky things. 3. Trading Post wants? I was gifted one of the tissue tees recently, and it’s the ultimate in lounge wear. I would enjoy having another. The Molly Crabapple one is pretty. I wear XL. 4. What direct sellers do you not like and would prefer not to get things from? And also feel free to list any retail brands you really don't like. Add me to the group that prefers small producers to large corporations. I work in the non-profit and labor rights fields. I’m very sick of my money going to corporations that then turn around and use that money to make my life worse and my job harder. If you are involved in some sort of direct sales group, I’m happy to receive the products as long as 1.) they treat you well, 2.) my personal information doesn’t end up in anyone else’s hands, and 3.) the products are reasonably sustainable/ethical in their production methods. Same rules essentially apply to retail brands. I actively boycott Proctor & Gamble and Whole Foods, but I don’t expect you to adhere to my boycotts. 5. How about y'alls coffee and tea preferences? I’m good on coffee and tea right now. I have excessive amounts of tea right now because I’ve been too lazy to make ice tea this summer like I usually do. My grandparents own a coffee farm so I always have too much coffee. 6. Do you cook? Would kitchen accessories make you happy? I do cook. I’m pretty good on kitchen accessories, but there are a few odds and ends. Before I start, let me make it clear that I will sometimes list stupidly expensive things in response to questions. I do not even remotely expect you to get me such pricey things. I just like to share neat stuff. - The black spatula I linked in my ?aire - A kitchen scale - A mini-muffin tin - Lifetime measuring cups - A pastry cutter - A marble pastry board - Zombie glasses (the tall skinny ones, not the ones with gore on them) - Kitchen linens – dish towels in blue or yellow, napkins and table cloths in those colors plus white, grey, and black. We’ve got sort of a Victorian England meets Latin America thing going with our dining room (living in NOLA has its perks), so old school linens are particularly exciting. Think lacey and minimalist, not country or cute. 7. How do people feel about creative endeavours? Would you like to receive one? Or supplies to make your own? What do you like? Drawings, stories, poems? Yes, yes, yes. One of my favorite parts of these swaps is seeing other people’s talents – The_Garnet makes fabulous jewelry, Sabir’s paintings are lovely, Meilin’s stories are naughty fun, and Ellebelle’s photos are gorgeous. I love it all! 8. What culture or country (doesn’t have to be modern) do you feel an innate connection with? What about it makes it special to you? These questions always strike me as a little odd. I don’t think you can really characterize a whole culture or country in quite this way. That said, I guess the answer is the Mediterranean region. I’m primarily Hispanic/Italian, and I studied Classics/Anthropology as an undergraduate, so I’ve spent a lot of time and mental space on that area of the world. I enjoy learning about the food, history, architecture, and land of the region. I adore the spices. 9. Is there any sort of art commission you would like: cartoony, pin-up, fantasy, realistic, etc? If so, what subject would you like drawn (a picture of you, a character, a loved one or pet)? Your art or someone else’s? If yours, just have fun. If someone else’s, I collect sketches from web comic artists - Spike Trottman is top on my list right now. I enjoy art in general. If you need more specificity, let me know more about the type of art you have in mind. 10. What do you find yourself doing for fun in your free time? What are your main hobbies and interests? Mostly reading and wasting time on the internet. I like to cook, but I’ve been out of the habit for personal reasons lately. I do like having friends over for dinner and board games when we have time. I’ve been really enjoy doing pilates for the last few years. Swimming is awesome when it’s warm out – summer is my favorite season. Other than that, I don’t have much in the way of hobbies. I flirt with sewing, and I’m attending a Weavers’ and Spinners’ guild meeting on the 20th. I have also been trying to decorate my house, which I suck at because things never turn out in reality like they look in my head (or on my pinterest). Does uncluttering count as a hobby? I enjoy that. Speaking of things that normal people consider chores and I enjoy, I’m a fan of old school cleaning tools (think wood scrub brushes and handmade feather dusters) and low key prepping gear (AKA things that you might actually use in a minor emergency, not full on end of the world stuff. I live in a hurricane zone with a husband who’s into zombie movies and I like post-apocalyptic fiction. It’s inevitable). Mostly, I like learning new skills, but I’m not very good at creative activities since I have limited imagination and hand-eye coordination. I still enjoy trying things out. 11. Table-top gaming? If yes, what kind, edition, etc? Gaming accessories you long for? Nope, not enough friends who play 12. DVD movies or games that you wish would magically appear in your hands? Can they be used, through Amazon? Used is fine for everything. I’m not a big collector of physical media, but I wouldn’t mind a copy of the Sword in the Stone. 13. What kind of snacks or candy from other countries/states would you like to try? Nothing on my wishlist, but I’m open to trying stuff. I have a sweet tooth. 14. Do you have a favorite internet meme, character or pop culture fandom? Internet specific? Not that I can think of right now. I do enjoy the Blogess who I guess counts as an internet personality. 15. Do you have a Facebook profile (or other social media) that you are comfortable linking to aid your witch in stalking? Please note whether you are willing to add BPALers as friends. Nope, I deleted my Facebook account. Best decision ever. My other social media accounts are in the spreadsheet. Friend away, but I’m not very active on any of them except pinterest. 16. Anybody interested in something from RCCC, whether it's con-exclusive merch or from a particularexhibitor or artist? That looks awesome. I see a few familiar artists on the list, but no one that I absolutely have to have something from. My husband would probably die of joy if he got his hands on that TMNT poster. 17. How important to you is regular contact / chatter with your witch? This is a hard one for me. I don't care about chatty, but I do appreciate care. My two best swap partners ever (GreenWoodTree and The_Garnet. They're both signed up for this swap too - watch out people, they're amazing) were people who clearly put a great deal of time and energy into thinking about me and what would make me smile. It was amazing to feel like someone spent that much time getting to know me, and that they really "got me" from what I put out into the world. I ramble a lot in my answers in hopes of making things easier for people like them who are trying to learn about me, and I'm always happy to engage with a chatty witch. That said, chatty is not remotely a requirement for me. I personally suck at being a high contact witch. I can never figure out what to say in an ecard, and I always forgets to pack the note. It doesn't seem fair to specifically request a high contact witch when I'm not able to return the favor. Plus, I love the ninja witches too. I appreciate that sometimes a swap is a way to show love quietly. Chatting is nice but it's not necessary. 18. Do you like puzzles/riddles/treasure hunts and that sort of thing? They can be fun. I suck at guessing games/riddles, so they’d have to be pretty easy. 19. If you were to receive music, would you want a physical CD or digital versions? Digital please! 20. What’s a current problem/annoyance you have that could be remedied but you haven’t had time to address it? There are two - 1. Somebody find me the perfect pillow. We have an amazing bed, we have great bed linens, but our pillows suck. I, sadly, have neither the time nor the energy to go on a full-fledged pillow quest. 2. If you have magical health improving powers, send them my way. My immune system sucks and my body has... issues. It's frustrating because I spend a lot of time and effort working on my health and nothing seems to really help. 21. How do you feel about having some sort of trinket to carry around for good luck/wishes? i.e. a small figurine, symbol, card, coin… No thanks, see answer #22! 22. Are you superstitious about anything? Any things you can't have in your house for that reason--bad associations? I'm not really superstitious per se, but I believe that it's important not to tempt fate. I don't collect good luck charms (seems like I'd be asking for an ironic disaster), but I do actively avoid bad luck charms. I don't like having things that hint at death or disaster, and I don't like things that are supposed to predict or influence the future (again, seems like I'd be asking for trouble). 23. For the vegetarians and vegans: How do you feel about things (say, marshmallows or gummy candy) made with vegan gelatin or other typically-animal-derived-but-not-in-this-instance products? I’m not vegetarian anymore, so whatever works for you works for me

At home, it ranges from 5 to -5 depending on my mood. At work I’m a 5. - Where, outside of the U.S. would you love to visit? (if you're international, this can be anywhere) The mediterranean - any part of it. I’ve never been and a branch of my family is from there. -Where, inside of the U.S. would you love to visit? I’ve considered tying out the NW, but I’m afraid it’s too cold -Favorite City in the US/World? St. Augustine, FL. Madrid, Spain. - Do people tell you that you act older, younger, or your age? It used to be older, but now it seems to be narrowing in on my age. -If I gave you a toy gun with flashing lights, would you hide and start shooting people from around corners OR would you thank me on the IGI thread and then quietly donate it (a niece, Oxfam, Goodwill, wherever)? (there are no wrong answers for this, so don't be afraid to answer honestly) Donate or give to someone who I know would love it. I don’t really like knick knacks or silly toys, but I’m always happy to find a new owner for them. - What animal do you feel like the most? sloth? - Your favorite feature about yourself: general? I’m smart and I try to do right by people with that intelligence; physical? my eyes are pretty awesome - dark, big, long eyelashes - Do you live in a neighborhood or in the middle of nowhere? neighborhood, and it’s awesome. That is the best part of moving to new orleans. -Have you ever thought, "oh, I'm going to get myself one of those one of these days" but then never do? List 1 under $10 and 1 over $10. Meh - I don’t really enjoy shopping, but I do like a good deal and reusing objects - I like to slather my food in …: butter - State fairs or carnivals? fun but tiring. I especially like the local art or food fair variety - You throw caution to the wind and runaway to join a traveling circus. What job would you want ( a main performer, a side show, a behind the scenes spot, etc) and why? Travel planner and general organizer. Even circuses need a bookkeeper. - What mythical or fantastic race of creatures (dragons, unicorns, griffins, elves, dwarves, faeries, etc.) do you most identify with? Hobbits - Imagine that you're given a shoebox-sized time capsule, and you are asked to put any number of items in the box that symbolize who you are. The items can be may be anything you can imagine, and money is no object, but they must fit within the box. What do you choose? Thank you for doing this.

Do you have any symbols or totems that are meaningful to you? Meaningful? Not really. I do like suns, fleur de lis, oak trees, and scottish thistles. When you are having a really rough day, what do you like to do/have to make it a little brighter? My first inclination is to give in to pouting - mope on the couch, eat junk food, watch bad tv, etc. Those things can be a pleasant change of pace from real life, but I honestly find more improvement in my mood if I do the exact opposite - go to a pilates class, make a nice dinner, and maybe quietly read a book. Would you like if your witch sent a regional pop/soda? If so, what type (Root beer, creme soda, cola, citrus-flavored, chocolate-flavored, etc...)? Hmm, I've mostly been trying to avoid soda (sugar/caffeine, not so healthy), but I'm always intrigued by regional items and my husband loves strange sodas so it's not like anything would go to waste. I'm up for trying anything. Ninjas or Pirates? Pirates Werewolves or vampires? Werewolves Zombie or Cthulhu? hmm, a hard one. I guess I'll go for zombies, I have more plans for how to deal with them. Do you want to receive one big package or a bunch of small ones? Digital stuff all at the end when the box should arrive or as we go? Your preference is my preference. I do like to see some signs of life (an ecard, a question through a third party, etc.) periodically during the round but actual gifts can be distributed as you see fit. Do you welcome knitted items? If so, what would you like most? (amigurumi, washcloth, socks, shawl, shawlette, scarf, wrist warmers, hat, etc.) Do you have any favorite fibers? How about any fiber allergies? Favorite color for knitted items? Dishclothes or pot holders would see the most use since it's HOT here. I do like wrist warmers, but they won't get used for a while. I'm not knowledgeable enough about fiber to have a favorite. I am ever so slightly allergic to wool. Colors are the same as my color preferences in the questionnaire. If you knit/crochet, what sizes of needles do you need? I don't knit/crochet What styles of artwork do you like? hard for me to describe, but maybe my answer about favorite artists from last round will help: Huh, I am embarrassingly ill educated on art history. I googled “best artist” and went through a list of someone’s idea of history’s hundred best painters (very much eurocentric, btw). Turns out I’m a big fan of Spanish artists (I knew that, although I hesitate to say it because it makes most people think Picasso and I HATE Picasso) and Baroque painting (never would have guessed it since find Baroque architecture distasteful). Here’s a list of people who caught my eye: El Greco (love him), Velasquez (scenes more than portraits), Rembrandt (again, scenes more than portraits), Caravaggio, De Goya (when he’s not being disturbing), some Monet and Van Gogh but mostly for the physical texture of the paint on canvas, Gustave Courbet, some Klimt (especially his strong female figures, less so the stuff with random dots), Vermeer (scenes not portraits, I swear I don't hate portraits), Edward Hopper, Gerhard Richter was kind of ineresting, Georges de la Toure, and Artemisia Gentileschi. In general, I love photography and sculpture. I’m wild about interesting textures. I’ve got some more modern things that aren’t anything amazing but have caught my eye on both pinterest (scattered throughout but especially in Sanity Inducing, Livingroom, and Kitchen) and etsy. My husband and I also collect sketches and art from our favorite webcomic artists. We've got stuff from Aerie, Jeph Jacques, Randy Milholland, and Danielle Corsetto. I'd love to add work from Spike (of Templar, AZ) or the folks behind Oglaf. We mostly have sketches and original art rather than prints. If you cook, would you be interested in-hand made spice mixes/rubs? sure, but please go easy on the salt Would you like mexican vanilla or silver rings/necklaces? Vanilla - sure, but a small bottle. Rings - no. Necklaces - sure The Conjure Oils update (http://conjureoils.com/emporium.htm) looks absolutely fabulous...I didn't know she made soaps and candles and whanot. Is there anything from the Oddment Emporium you would like? Nope, they all have doom notes. What is your favorite color? Depends on my mood and what it's for. Black/silver/jewel tones are always a safe bet. What is your favorite season? Summer, no contest. If you could live anywhere in the world and money was no object, where would it be? Hmm, probably southern Spain depending on the political climate at the time. Do you have any long trips coming up? If so, could you use things to occupy yourself? No long trips, but plenty of long days. I quit my job in order to move. Since we moved about two months early b/c of my mother in law's health issues (basically, it was becoming really upsetting to everyone involved for my husband to be driving 8 hrs each way to split time between his sick mom and his pregnant wife), I wasn't able to look for a job before we got here. End result, I'm unemployed and not likely to find a full-time job any time soon. So, I'm bored. I'm going to Jungle Jim's next week (it's basically a massive international food gasm in Ohio, look it up); would anything interest you?Did you say food?? Hmm, well, anything you think I might like would be great. If they've got a decent selection of latin foods, I always try to keep an eye out for masarepa that's made from non-GMO corn. Goya is almost certainly GMO and it's usually the only variety readily available. Name three things that you could use, but might not necessarily think to get for yourself? Drawstring pajama pants, an iron (yes, like for ironing - I lost my last one and never remember to replace it), and maybe cloth napkins. Does anything from the TP Etsy update interest you? I went ahead and favorited anything from the TP and Lab etsy updates that looked interesting. I just found out Oreo is launching ones with watermelon flavor in the USA only. Is it something you would enjoy? Not at all. While we're on it, I'm unlikely to enjoy the flavored kit kats that were mentioned earlier either. What are the three BPALs you would most like to receive - one GC, one not-hard to find LE, and one HTF LE from your dreams? To be honest here, other than what's already on my wishlist, I'm not really on a hunt for rare BPAL right now b/c my sense of smell is sort of off these days. I'd hate for you to track down some super rare scent that I expressed interest in only for me to be unable to even go near the sealed bottle because my nose is still in overdrive. If you've got something from my wishlist, great. I've been looking for those for a while, so I'm happy to wait a bit longer for my nose to get back in line before sniffing. Otherwise, please don't go out of your way. If you don't consider yourself in a "fandom" (and I get that ... I don't really go overboard on my liking of any TV show/Movie/etc), are there any TV shows or Movies that you really like and/or watch regularly or any actors/actresses you wouldn't leave standing in the rain (unless you like looking at them sopping wet, in which case ... well, nevermind)? Shows I will always happily watch: Star Trek (all of the shows), BBC's Hustle, Mythbusters, Firefly. My husband and I both adore the Sword and the Stone, but it's not on Netflix so we don't get to watch it much. As far as actors/actresses go, I always manage to forget my real favorites when I make lists like this. Off the top of my head - Actresses: I'm fond of Jennifer Lawrence. I would watch Katherine Hepburn act in anything. I think Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie, and Christina Hendricks are very attractive. Gina Torres is a whole 'nother level of attractiveness above those other ladies (wowza). Young Liz Taylor was pretty cute too but she looks a lot like my mom. I wish I looked like Rosie Perez in this picture. If anything I look like (an extremely frumpy and overweight version of)this lady. Actors: I was shocked the first time I saw a really young Paul Newman in a movie and realized how amazingly attractive he was. Chris Hemsworth is totally not my type but my heart rate still went up when he took his shirt off in the first Thor movie. I find myself appreciating Brad Pitt and George Clooney more as they age for both acting and looks. Johnny Depp (who is my type) just becomes more obnoxious with age to the point that I no longer find him attractive. Hugh Laurie amuses me, and if the character Wash from Firefly/Serenity existed I would have a big crush on him not for his looks but for his personality (but would keep it to myself out of respect for Zoe and their amazing relationship). So, dear witchee, would you like some Tw*twaffle soap or scent or lotion? No, but if they ever make the sorbetto, you can count me in. Has anyone asked about tattoos? Do you love them? Hate them? Have any? Want any? Have one (it matches a friend's) that I got when I was 25. Want a big back piece but can't afford it yet. I live near the Brown and Haley outlet - makers of Almond Roca and Mountain Bars - would you want anything from the outlet? For nut-haters, they have nutless Roca For the no-sugar folks they have sugar-free as well. Not particularly, but it wouldn't go to waste I also have an Oberto jerky outlet local to me - any wants there? jerky tends to be a bit too high in salt for me How do you feel about home-canned goods? As long as you're relatively experienced at canning, absolutely! Don't forget about heat issues with mailing to Louisiana, though. Do you like BPTP clothing? (collapsed a few of these questions since I don't have a ton of content for answers) I've always ignored it b/c I generally don't like printed on clothing. That said, someone just sent me an XL Treat tissue tea and it's so incredibly comfortable that I would probably wear others like it if I had them. As far as which ones I like, pretty or smutty are fine, skulls/death imagery or supernatural connotations are not. What else do you love from the Trading Post site, and need to have? Nothing I need, but I haven't gotten a chance to try the hair glosses yet and I'm very curious. Is there a particular movie genre that you like (Fantasy? Drama? Romantic Comedy? Musicals? TV-Series, etc), and what format would you prefer: DVD, Blu-Ray, or something in the cloud (like Amazon, iTunes, Flixster, etc)? I tend to like musicals, old classics (I'm an Esther Williams fan, amongst others), acting showcases (e.g. All About Eve, A Lion in Winter, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf), ultraviolence (Reservoir Dogs, Goodfellas, etc), and con artist movies. I pretty much don't want to own most movies any more, though. We have Netflix and several movie theaters, so I don't really see the point. Following up on the Adagio question from earlier, what are you top five wishes, for teas and blends? Gonna skip this one since I just got a fabulous selection Do you have anything that you do ritually, every summer? Not specifically. When I still lived at home in Florida, we used to try to go to the beach every weekend. The first weekend trip was always a lovely tradition - putting the windows down and turning off the a/c so that the water would feel cooler by the time we got there, stopping at our favorite snack stand (boiled peanuts!) on the way there, packing the perfect picnic, taking a walk on the beach to see how it had changed in the last year, stopping at our favorite vegetable stand on the way home. What are your top five wishes from ThinkGeek? 1. That keyboard cleaning putty stuff (can't find the link right now) 2. Solar charger (http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/d0bc/) 3. Different solar charger (http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/13c9/) 4. Flash drive/bottle opener (http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/e00f/) 5. Canless air system (http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/f162/ - so stupidly expensive but tempting) Seen anything lately that makes you go OH HOLY FUCK THAT'S AWESOME!! ? Heh, well, nothing quite that cool, but I have seen a couple of "wow, that's well thought out" things. High end: TSA compliant laptop charging carry on bag - charge your laptop AND skip the whole removing your laptop and all it's cords while in a long line surrounded by impatient people? Awesome Low end: Lifetime measuring cups - long lasting, stove safe (I don't have a microwave, so melting butter on the stove would be quite useful), good for left (David) and right (me) handers, metric and imperial measurements, AND stackable so they take up less space. They're like the perfect measuring cups. Do you like audiobooks? If so, do you have/would you like to try Audible? (I'm an addict, myself.) Iffy, I've enjoyed a couple of Gaiman audio books, but mostly I zone out when I'm listening. Chocolate: Love? Hate? Allergic? If love, what are your faves? Love. I used to say I was a dark chocolate fan, but that was before dark chocolate became the equivalent of a culinary dare. Now I sometimes get dark bars that are more like "experiences" than enjoyable food. I guess I'm just not up for 94% pure dark chocolate. I also dislike white chocolate, gloopy caramel filled chocolate, and chocolate with savory bits (bacon, chiles, etc.). Other than that, if it's chocolate, I will love it. I know Canadian chips can be different than others, how does "dill pickle" or "ketchup" sound? Meh If you were getting a custom Haus of Gloi blend, what four notes would you choose? Summer notes listed here and you can click through to the whole list from there. http://www.hausofglo...er-single-notes I'm not interested in a custom blend, but I guess the list could help with other things: Peach Skin, Apple, Clove, Coffee (not combined) QUESTION! Do you like Kickstarter? Are there any projects up that you really like? Mixed feelings. I haven't seen any must back projects recently QUESTION! If you have an Etsy wishlist, what are your top 5 favorite things on there? The price is unimportant, not because I'm rich, but because I'd like some inspiration. I had a really hard time with this one. Decided to stick to non-bath/body products and non-edibles since so many previous questions are about those two categories. 1. This dude's furniture (http://www.etsy.com/shop/jreal) 2. These pet bowls (http://www.etsy.com/listing/121919415/cobalt-blue-pet-bowl-talavera-pattern?ref=col_view) 3. These earrings (http://www.etsy.com/listing/64188808/sunstone-earrings-oxidized-sterling?ref=col_view) 4. This bracelet (http://www.etsy.com/listing/83124125/extra-wide-silver-fleur-de-lis-bracelet?ref=col_view) 5. Tie between this dress (http://www.etsy.com/listing/74002004/emerald-green-taffeta-prom-dress-made-to?ref=shop_home_active) and a pair of custom pants (http://www.etsy.com/listing/45189733/completely-custom-pants?ref=col_view - although not that style, probably black work pants) Festival this week -- includes an "encampment" and an art faire. any interest in trinkety things from the encampment or cards/prints from local artists Not so much with the trinkets, but I do like small art pieces. If you see something that you think I might like, sure! How do you feel about glitter? does loose glitter make your skin crawl or would you bathe in it? I'm sort of indifferent Do you want/need/like/collect journals? If so, do you prefer lined or unlined? No thanks Does the idea of wearing a plant as jewelery give you the warm fuzzies or the heebie jeebies? Yeah, that'd die real fast Gourmet popcorn, yes/no? What do you like: glazed, savory, candied? Nuts or not? Any flavors you wouldn't like (like Bacon CHeeseburger, Pizza, Watermelon, Root Beer Float, Hot Chili Dark Chocolate)? Or if any of those sounded interesting, how weird is weird enough? Usually flavored popcorn is too much for me - the sweets are too sweet, the savories are too salty. Question: I make my own hair gloss, would you like some detangling and very shiny hair gloss made by me? This is a 'cone rich blend, not the least bit natural. No thanks. I try to stick to cone free stuff most of the time. Neat hobby though Every package has to have something blue in it. Blue can also be used to describe more risque humor...how would you rate your general sense of humor? Are you strictly PG-13, R-rated, NC-17? It is extremely difficult to offend me with dirty humour. So long as it's not racist or rapey, we're good. I think there was an earlier question about dirty cross-stitch that never quite made it to the list. I'm fine with that too. It'll stay up until the kid learns to read and then get a break for a few years. Do you like puzzles? What kind? Jigsaw, word, etc? I do enjoy a good puzzle. Haven't done jigsaw puzzles in ages, but I do like doing them. I'm a crossword fan, but I have so many half done books picked up while I was bored in an airport that it's not even funny. Other than that, I'm up for anything word, logic, or pattern related. Not so great with numbers or spatial reasoning. Anything interesting from the new Paintbox Soapworks update for you? Coveting Clean Slate, but I think I'm good otherwise since most new stuff was in soap form. What about recycled sari silk yarn, witches and witchees? I'm sure it's beautiful, but I don't do any yarn requiring crafts Sooo, the Blooddrop update (Aviary and Summer Simplicities). Anything you'd like from there? Several of the scents sound pretty, but I'm really not looking for non-BPAL perfume right now. On the other hand, the bath salts and sparklers sound like they could be fun. DEAR FIBER AND YARN PEOPLE: I am going back to Paradise Fibers today. They have like almost every type of fiber roving and dye and stuff available. If you're a spinner and have any fiber wishes, what would you like? Dyed or natural? Do you need dye? colors? brand? Not a fiber or yarn person. If I wanted to include something for your fluffball, what would be good, and what should I stay away from? The pup likes kong type toys and tennis balls. We try to avoid stuffed or fabric toys because he shreds them and leaves their innards strewn across the house. The non-toy items that would be good for him are a bit pricey - leashes, collars, bowls, and the like. Would homemade treats be something you'd like for your dog/cat? Sure! He's particularly fond of bacon flavored stuff, but he'll pretty much eat anything. If you get a long weekend this weekend... what are you doing with it? Staying in? Going out? Family? Friends? If you don't get a long weekend, are you OK with that, or a little sad? (If you are Canadian, apply this to last weekend). Well, since neither one of us is working right now, a long weekend just doesn't feel all that special. Still, it was a good one (especially after the craziness of last weekend). David got to go out and be social, I got to stay in and have some alone time, and we even had time to do some house cleaning. Sunday is our anniversary, so I'm very excited about that. We've had an eventful year, and I think we could use a chance to just enjoy each other's company at a fancy but low key dinner. Would you be interested in getting a kombucha starter and instructions on how to use it to easily make your own fermented, probiotic tea drink? Sadly, kombucha is not a taste I appreciate in beverage form.

First off, apologies in advance, I'm a rambler. Dr Who? Never seen it actually. Keep meaning to watch on Netflix but we're still trying to make it through all of Star Trek (all the series) and The Twilight Zone. Plus, of course, we have to periodically rewatch all the MythBusters episodes. I don't branch out to much TV beyond those three shows, The Walking Dead (although I'm now a season behind), and the occasional live sports (in bars because we don't have cable). I also enjoyed Firefly a lot, but I don't do much Firefly rewatching. How much do you like lipbalm? Flavored or unflavored? What are your favorite brands and flavors? I received some lovely, homemade lip balm in a recent swap. Adding that to what I already had, I will probably never be able to use all the lip balm I currently own. Do you like and wear lipgloss? If yes, what colours? Not really, I'm makeup challenged. For those of you whose wishlists contain only BPALs, are there any other perfume companies you like or would like to try out? BPAL or your own creations only please. Your feelings on Adagio teas: If you've never had anything from them, would you be open to trying them? If you HAVE had them and like them, name some favorites blends. And if you had them and dislike them, can you name a few *other* tea companies you're into? Never tried them, but I'm fascinated by some of the fandom blends people have come up with (I think it's Venneh who has an amazing collection of blends pinned on pinterest. They often tempt me). I usually lean in the English breakfast or spiced chai direction (basically, teas that taste good with milk), and I'm an iced tea fiend. The only teas I dislike are the smoked ones and strong green teas. Right now, I'm limited to caffeine free varieties. What about coffee? Please no coffee. I'm part Colombian, my grandparents own two coffee farms, I am drowning in coffee beans. Who is your favourite female of all time? Historical, literary, ANYTHING, and why? Goodness, there are so many. Today's favorites are the female pirates - Anne Bonny, Mary Read, and Grace O'Malley. I was fascinated with them as a little girl. I liked the idea of women going on adventures instead of dancing with princes. If you were a Disney princess you would be?: Um, no clue really. It's been a very long time since I watched much of the Disney catalog, and the ones I remember well are largely princess free. I guess Belle because I covet her library? Would you like a seashell from Florida? No thank you. I grew up there and collected shells as a kid. I still sometimes find random baskets of shells (or, rather, shell pieces) tucked in various boxes. Now, if you could somehow magically export some of the springs from north Florida, or the beaches around St. Augustine, or some really delicious Cuban food - I'd take any of those. What craft project do you currently have on your docket or that you want to start? And that craft goodies would be welcome? I am the anti-craft, but I'm also a big fan of learning new things. Translation: I am not currently working on any craft, but I'd be happy to try one if you think you can provide a "beginner's kit". If you could have one rare bpal which one would you choose? Hmm, none that I love so much that I'm collecting (except Bah! which I just got some of) and the ones I want to try are mixed in with GCs on my wishlist. Are you kinky? Yes. People who see me always assume that I'm some kind of dominatrix (who knows why, maybe the combination of dark hair and bossiness?), but the reality is that I prefer to be the sub. My husband is one of the first people to truly pick up on that. Do you enjoy scented candles? Certain sizes that you like? What kind of scents or brands? Not really. I occasionally get curious (I think I have one favorited on etsy and I know I mentioned some BPTP ones I wouldn't mind trying in my blogs for last round), but usually they're just too strong for me. Thoughts about South Africa? Have you been here, would you like to go? Would you like to receive anything South African? I don't know much about South Africa at all. I love receiving international items as long as they fit my interests and aren't too knick knacky. Also, I'm pretty stocked up on kitchen items, but I make an exception for international specialty gadgets/pans/spices/foods/etc. Do you like Sockdreams? If so, what styles would you prefer? (You can also link your wishlist.) I've liked everything I've gotten from them, but I'm not a diehard fan like some people are. I am always looking for truly opaque stockings because I don't shave my legs and opaque stocking let me wear skirts to work. Do you need hair accessories? If so, what kind or color? Yes, always. Sticks, clips, barrettes, basic hair ties, interesting combs or pins. Nothing too girly girl or sparkly please. As for color: black, silver, wood, or jewel tones are all good. What is your favorite shade of blue? I like the dark but bright varieties - sapphire, Tardis, etc. I'm also a fan of heathered blue and lapis lazuli type tones. Do you have any kitchen gadgets (a SodaStream, a Kuerig/Tassimo) that you want mix things for? Hmm, I don't really use mixes for anything, and I don't think I have any mix using gadgets. If you were to start learning something new (intellectual or craft or hobby), what would it be? This list could easily be 8 pages long, but I'll try to restrain myself. I'd LOVE to learn blacksmithing but it has been generally agreed that I am too clumsy to be around that much fire. My husband and I got beer brewing classes as a wedding present but weren't able to schedule them before I got pregnant, so that's on the horizon once the baby is born. I love food related projects. We took cheesemaking classes (another wedding present), and I am always trying to teach myself various food preserving methods. I even own a pressure canner that I don't know how to use. I really need to be taking language classes right now. Spanish would be ideal since we're thinking of raising the kiddo bilingual (my parents are both native Spanish speakers, but my mother forbid anyone from teaching her children how to speak it. I still regret that she made that choice). I'd also love to learn Italian, Gaelic, Arabic, and I wouldn't mind relearning Latin (I studied and loved it for 8 years, but there isn't a lot of opportunity to use it in day to day life). I admit to a tiny part of me that would like to learn archery, emergency first aid, and various woodland survival techniques (I think I read too many books about surviving on one's own as a child. Reading the Hunger Games a couple years ago just revived some of those childhood fantasies). I'm also always on the look out for practical crafts. We're supposed to be getting my father-in-law's extra sewing machine soon, so I'd love to (re)learn how to sew. I've also always wanted to know how to build wooden furniture. Beyond that, I'd just like to learn as many semi-practical skills as I can: home repairs, car repairs, etc. Basically, I like to collect random skills instead of things. What about candy? Do you have a sweet tooth? Usually YES! While pregnant, though, I've been mostly craving savory stuff which is unheard of for me. Other than some moments of intense need for brownies and/or ice cream, I'm pretty much meh on sweets these days. If you find something amazingly interesting, I'll certainly be happy to try it, but sweet things aren't high on my list of wants right now. If you are sending me sweets, I tend to like things that are on the less sweet spectrum so gloopy caramel is unpleasant to me but salted caramel is pretty good. I dislike the current trend of mixing bacon and hot peppers into perfectly good chocolate. Do you have an e-reader? What kind? Would you like to get ebooks? Nope. I'm all digital on music and movies, but reading is what I do when I want to get away from the screens. If your witch is an extremely crafty sort, and she were to send all kinds of homemade foody goodies and handmade crafty stuff - what are items you would NOT LOVE to receive. Please dont hedge on this one...some of us are serious crafters and will be making most of what we send! I love homemade stuff! There are three caveats right now: 1.) I live in the South and it's very much summer here, so nothing super melty. 2.) No flat out knick knacks. 3.) I think knitting is awesome, but, again, I live in the South. Most knit clothing is just going to be way too heavy. I'd rather go for knit dishclothes or things of that nature. Witchee dear, do you like video games? Are there any you want to play? Do you have a large library? Nope, I was big into Wasteland and Bard's Tale back in the Commodore 64 days, but I pretty much haven't LOVED a video game since. My husband is big into games, but he's an XBox user and I don't want the next generation XBox in my house (boo always on camera!). We're currently debating what the future of gaming in our home is going to look like. Do you have something you do, without fail, as a personal daily habit/ritual? (Examples: pen-and-paper journal keeping, tea/coffee drinking, morning yoga, nightly bedtime reading. I'm kind of thinking on things that would be dear to you and might need small supplies or could use certain extras. ) Sadly, no. Do you wear nailpolish? What colors do you tend to go for? What are your favorite brands? Are you open to trying indie brands? I have a fabulous collection of Zoya and don't really need more. The only thing I don't have and want are matte polishes. I'm totally open to indies but prefer "Big 3 Free" Name three BPAL scents you have tried, but are dying to get more of. Other than Needle in a Haystack there's nothing I love so much that I want more of it. I'd rather try new things. Do you still write real letters on nice stationary to people you like/love? No, I used to pretend that I would but I never did. Have you ever tried anything from Paintbox Soapworks? Which products or scents would you prefer? I LOVE her. The sorbettos are my favorite product, but I already have a ton of them. I wouldn't mind getting some Avast, though. Bramble & Apple and Mandinka look interesting too. Also, she's coming out with a facial scrub in July, and I covet it. Do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you grow? My name is Vanesa, and I am a plant killer. Do you like sample sized things? Think lipgloss, mascara, bodylotion, scrubs, mini candles, and so forth. I do like samples Have you tried Fortune Cookie Soap? What products or scents would you like? Nope, I wouldn't be opposed to getting something from there, but I was too overwhelmed by the website to really come up with an intelligent request. If you want me to list specific products for this or any other company, just let me know. Do you use solid soaps at all? If so, what kind do or don't you like? Meh, not really. We do use solid doggie shampoo, but otherwise I find solid soaps to be kind of gross (they just sit around getting soggy and being touched by dirty hands). On the doggie shampoo front, though, I could use a decent looking DRAINING soap dish. Blue would be nice since we bathe him in the bathroom. Have you ever tried Cocoa Pink? If you are curious about it, what looks interesting to you? I've only heard about them from the customer service disaster they turned into a few years back. I'm open to trying something if you are evangelical about one of their products. I seem to recall that they were popular for hair care. I do need new shampoo/conditioner (for dark, wavey, combination oily/normal hair). Do you like Lush? If so, what is your favorite product that is currently available, also, what is a product that you love but has been discontinued? Lush is how I heard of BPAL in the first place, but I've gotten really frustrated with the amount of chemicals they put in their stuff. Ocean Salt, Jungle, H'suan Wen Hua, Reincarnate, and the bubble bars were my favorite items when I was more forgiving of the chemical dependence (SLS in conditioner? That doesn't even make sense). Do witches prefer the answers posted here, but a more cherry-picked number of questions answered, or a more exhaustive list posted in the blog, which means posting here much less? Indifferent. I post to a blog because I talk too much. Anyone a fan of Shiro Cosmetics? Any particular products? Eye shadow pigments in general? I don't wear enough makeup to use this stuff. Are there any companies, products, or items you boycott? Yes. The big two are Whole Foods and Proctor & Gamble As I am in Japan, what sort of things would you like from there? As I said for the South Africa question, I love getting international items as long as they fit my general preferences. For Japan, I should mention that I dislike most Japanese candy and sweets. Since FB and the FB Gusp group (and the BPAL Sorority which is quiet) have become gathering places...what are some of your favorite Facebook pages you like? I quit facebook a few years ago, and I'm so happy I did. Do you read literature/culture blogs or websites of any kind? I'm thinking about anything that would help a putative witch to get a sense of what your current tastes in books, movies, games, genres, approaches to culture and literature and so forth are Nothing that would fit that description. I do have a lot of daily visit blogs and webcomics, though. The list is well into the double digits, so I'll spare you. If you want specific favorites or something, let me know How do you feel about traditional picnics (namely the intimate table for two variety)? Old-fashioned basket or something more utilitarian (cooler/insulated bag)? Love picnics! I have fond memories of beach picnics as a girl - lots of sand but a lot fewer bugs. I actually already have a pretty decent picnic cooler, but I don't have a really nice picnic blanket. I keep considering buying one and then deciding it's too silly. If you were put in a room with 100 random other people the same age and sex as you, from your country, in what way do you think you would be different from the average? Huh, this is a hard one. I tend to think that we assume more differences between ourselves and others than really exist. Plus, I'm too much of an introvert to have much experience with girls my own age especially since I have had mostly male friends in my life. My assumptions would be: 1.) I will have bigger boobs in comparison to the rest of my body than pretty much anyone there - I have dangerously large tits. 2.) I will be one of the few people there whose parents are American citizens who both grew up outside of the US. That will mean a whole host of cultural differences surrounding food, politics, physical contact, the meaning of family, the importance of hospitality, and the value of community rather than individuality. 3.) I will be one of the least ambitious people there. I appreciate a job well done, in fact I'm a serious perfectionist, but I don't have much desire to rise in the ranks, become famous, or stand out in any way professionally or personally. Haus of Gloi did a Reverie update! Do any of them interest you? (Or anything else up currently?) Nothing in particular. I wouldn't mind trying her bubbling scrubs or cream soaps, but I don't have a serious hankering. When I last looked through her fragrances, they all looked fine except the Amber one. Witchee, do you cook? Do you do all the cooking? Is it a chore or a pleasure? This is surprisingly a minefield of a question. I do cook. It used to be my favorite hobby. It was also a shared passion with my younger brother, who died in August. Add to that the fact that pregnancy has made standing for long periods of time (especially in front of a hot stove) kind of uncomfortable and that the rest of the year has been very chaotic (married in July, brother died in August, funerals in September and December, mother in law landed in the hospital in January, pregnant in March, mother in law went back to the hospital in May, moved in June), and, well, I don't do much cooking right now. I miss it, though. Plus, it would be so much better for me nutrition wise. Usually, I do most of the cooking. My husband didn't cook when he met me. He's learning (and he's shockingly good at certain things), but it takes a while for him to feel confident enough to plan and execute a dinner solo. Which reading level do you prefer to read in YA or Adult? Or even both? Mostly adult, but I do love a smart YA novel. Put your mp3 player/online music/itunes/etc on random and list the next 10 songs here: From Slacker, oddly heavy on the alt-country tonight, no idea why. 1. Young Forever - Jay-Z 2. Red River Valley - Woody Guthrie 3. Give Me One Reason - Tracy Chapman 4. Sueno Con Serpientes - Silvio Rodriguez 5. El Liston de Tu Pelo - Los Angeles Azules 6. Why Don't You Leave Me Alone? - Hank Williams III 7. Choctaw Bingo - James McMurty 8. Whiskey in the Jar - The Dubliners 9. Down the Road Tonight - Hayes Carll 10. The Rose Hotel - Robert Earl Keen what is your favourite object, that you own, ignoring sentimental reasons for attachment? So I guess something you find beautiful, or fun, or incredibly useful. Huh, good one. Right now it's probably a toss up between my cast iron skillet and our new mattress (king size and AMAZINGLY comfortable) How big is too big...for something to hang on your walls? If I'm painting you a pretty picture, are there maximum dimensions that you have/prefer? Virtually unlimited as long as I don't have to buy a frame. I'm pretty sure that your shipping budget would max out before my wall space. Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? If you like them - which stores would you like one for? Sure! Any store you think might interest me. Etsy and Amazon are always useful. I haven't tried http://www.greencupboards.com/ yet, but it looks like it might become very useful to me for staples. Is there anything from Australia you would like? eg: snacks (yes, you can ask for Tim Tams!), books, magazines, memorabilia? See my answers for South Africa and Japan. Do you have any problems with swearing or particularly off-color humor? Not at all, love a good dirty joke and swear like a sailor. What style is your sense of humour? Well, I hate to admit this, but I'm not terribly funny. When I am, I have an extremely dry wit. I enjoy sarcasm and even a little goofiness. I think Eddie Izzard is hysterical, I always chuckle when Yewberry is involved in a SW thread (lady is a comedic genius), and I've been known to laugh at Vonnegut novels even when it's embarrassing to me that I'm laughing at them. Opinions on table top games, from cards and board games, to dice and rpgs. What do you like? What don't you like? Favorites? Any classics you like? Do you collect any? I'm too introverted for RPGs (Although I did play a whole bunch of MUSHes and MUDs online when I was younger, but not in several years). These days, I mostly look for simple dinner party games - fun but easy to get going. As an introvert, I tend to avoid any that involve acting/singing/dancing/making a fool of yourself (so, no pictionary, charades, etc.). We currently have Taboo, Rummikub, Apples to Apples, and Wits and Wagers. Plus a million packs of cards and a copy of Hoyles. I really want Cards Against Humanity because I've been hearing so much about it. What would you like from the most recent BPAL update? What are you planning on buying for yourself and what would you like to try? I wouldn't mind trying Aurelia or Epibulia Is there a literary character you identify with? Even if it's not spot-on, just someone you found yourself having that "I identify with this" feeling? Hmm, not in a while. I did a lot as a little girl. I think I identify with characters as I read the book and then let them go when I move on to the next books. What are the three books you most want to read right now, and which you don't already have? Actually, my wishlist is so full that I'm too overwhelmed by it to proceed. I feel a bit paralyzed by it. Would you like something from Empire Edibles? (http://www.etsy.com/...s?ref=top_trail) The tea ruffles look kind of interesting. Mostly it all looks a bit too sweet. Is there anything small you try to collect from everywhere you visit? Unusual sugar packets, but I prefer to collect my own. Witchee, I know that SW isn't about what you get... but could you name one thing you would be heartbroken not to get and one thing you would be a-ok if it didn't make it in your box? (i.e. do you REALLY want perfume oil of some sort, or would you be totally heartbroken if there was no Lush in your box, etc I'm very flexible, but I most appreciate boxes that tell me a little bit about you. The best box I have ever received in a swap was one that included a lovely note explaining the things that my swap partner felt we had in common and telling me about all of her favorite things that she wanted me to try. They were simple, inexpensive items but so heartfelt. Do you like tarot cards, pendulums and rune stones etc? If so, what type? No thank you. What fandoms do you belong to? None, really. I was a a big Trekkie in middle school, but not as seriously anymore. I kind of dislike the new movies, so they haven't rekindled my interest or anything. What cheers you up? This is super cheesey but my husband is what cheers me up. He isn't someone I would ever have predicted that I would fall for, but when I'm feeling lousy (sick, upset, whatever) he's so genuinely concerned that it sort of melts me heart. He rarely buys me gifts (I'm not much one for gift giving occasions, and I think even he isn't sure how to navigate my bizarre minimalism bent) but whenever I'm sick he'll surprise me with juice and cough medicine. It's silly, but I love that he cares about me enough to want me to be comfortable. Who or where would you most want to haunt? Who would you least want to be haunted by? Answering questions like this is inviting trouble. What question do you hate to answer? "What do you want for your birthday" - nothing or a surprise. If I really wanted something specific for my birthday, I would have bought it myself. Also, "what is that book you're reading?" - I'm reading it so that I don't have to talk to people. What is the best compliment you have/could receive? A thank you for something I've done that the other person found genuinely useful - I like to be helpful. Would you like anything from an European country? Any particular food or goodies, magazines, books, whatever would be available to your witch in his/her country. Same as my previous international answers. Do you like bags? If so, what type (rucksack, clutch, shopping bag) colour and would you like/need a new one? Not really, I carry a wallet because I'd lose a purse in a heart beat. I could use a messenger bag that could hold my computer and looks nice enough to take to job interviews/work. What's your favourite comfort food(snack or candy etc) and/or drink? Apparently it's bbq and ice cream. I also have a weakness for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with a glass of milk. Never would have guessed those things, but I've had plenty of opportunities this year to discover that when things are a bit rough my first food craving is a chopped brisket sandwich. Would you be interested in someone writing out for you a favourite recipe, or finding or devising one which they think you'd like? If so, please provide your favourite ingredients, info on how you like to cook/store and use food, and any intolerances - unless all of these are in your questionnaire, or you don't like the idea. (I'm not saying I'd definitely do this, unless someone is keen, and it wouldn't be the only gift). I guess for other witches this might include something like a knitting pattern - not my thing but would you like that? Or indeed would you like a picture created for you (if so what kind) or a story written? (sorry if this feels a bit Spanish Inquisition!) All of these ideas sound wonderful. I think I've answered most of the background info in my questionnaire or in answers to other questions. The only thing I don't think I've touched on is shopping/storing food. I have a solid pantry filled with bulk staples (pasta, rice, lentils, flour, baking supplies) which I supplement by shopping for local produce/protein once every week or two. I have extensive recipe boards on pinterest that would show you how I like to cook. The only thing missing there are the simple every day things that don't need a recipe. For example, during the summer I like to make some kind of interesting veggie salad and serve it with good crusty bread and some tasty cheese. Since the hubby is a carnivore, I'll often add a tiny piece of meat (breakfast pork chop, super thing cut steak, small piece of sausage) to round things out. The salad is usually the main part of the plate. If you knew you were going to live comfortably for say 800 years, what profession, calling or project might you pursue with some of your extra years, which you imagine you may not do in the life that you have? Hmm, I enjoy the work I do (non-profit accounting and operations, although I recently quit my job to move so we'll see if I can find a job in that field) so I don't think I'd change jobs. I do think I'd spend more time focused on being a homemaker and travelling. I get a lot of pleasure out of putting around my kitchen or organizing my things, but only when I have a lot of free time. I also love travel, but my plans so often fall through. I think I'd also live internationally for a while if I had the luxury. Mostly, though, I'd have to try to remind myself to spend a good chunk of that 800 years just enjoying a book and a drink on my front porch or even skipping the book and just watching the neighborhood/my puppy playing in the yard. Is there any thing - an object, a donation on your behalf, some research done for you, whatever - that your witch could do about this that you would like? And if you can't think of a present, would you rather she/he (I!) didn't either and confined themselves to things you are already involved in? Not that I can think of What colors/style is your kitchen decor? And do you entertain in your home? I love to entertain. Dinner parties are my favorite way. Feeding people let's me be hospitable without overwhelming my introverted self. As far as my kitchen decor, here's an overly long explanation: I grew up in a home filled with rich, saturated color. On the one hand, I always loved the vibrance of our house (Caribbean blue exterior! Sunshine yellow kitchen! Every door a different color! Murals in some of the bedrooms!). On the other hand, it can be a little bit mentally overwhelming. Since we move regularly, our home decor trends pretty neutral (grey, black, crisp white) so that it will blend with whatever randomness we find in the places we're renting. The kitchen is where I throw neutral out of the window. My appliances stay in the neutral theme (black, silver, NO WHITE cause there's usually a lot of white already in rental kitchens and white appliances are a pain in the ass to keep clean), but everything else is a riot of yellow and blue. I’m inspired by the gorgeous yellow/blue tile found throughout the mediterranean and latin america (Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, etc.), and by the Caribbean blue and sunshine yellow of my childhood. On top of the crazy bright colors, we used our wedding as an excuse to make prints of some of my dad's (and one of my friend's) pictures of a few of our favorite foods (hello table “numbers”) so that we could frame them and put them on the wall. In my kitchen, I have all of the following up on the wall: Crawfish Wine Burger Texas BBQ Tacos Pork Roast Shrimp Po'Boy Mussels Are your ears pierced? Yes. Just one per ear. I also have an 18 gauge eyebrow ring that I just wear a clear retainer (technically it's fishing line) in. Do you like stuffies/stuffed animals/art doll type thingies? If so, any particular type you'd love to get? No, not at all. Especially plastic toys. I'm going to struggle with being a parent because most toys make me crazy. Switch Witch is, of course, all about you.....but if your Witch was so inclined, are there wee little ones in your home that will get jealous and are just too young to understand why you won't share the love, who maybe need a touch of Witchee love all their own, to distract them while you hide all your lovelies?!? Not really. David will get most of the food items that I don't feel like eating. Plus, he mostly ignores my swap boxes. Brady likes to poke his nose into packages, but he's already a very spoiled dog. Is there a Quote that resonates with you, or that you particularly like a lot. Would this be something you would like artwork made of for your walls or a shirt/bag/scarf? Nope Also, STARBUCKS, Yay or Nay? Anything you particularly like? Only in dire circumstances (aka the airport before anything else opens) Is there someone on the forums (within SW or not) who knows you really well and might be able to help with stalking? Nope If you happen to find out who yours is, how much would it bother you? Not at all, I'm happy with any level of contact. Do you use waxmelts or tarts? If so, which ones do you prefer? No thank you Do you enjoy drinking hot chocolate, and would you like stuff to make it with, or to add to it? Sure, I'm not super into it but I enjoy a good cup when it's cold out. Have you ever tried Spoonfudge? Would you enjoy it if your Witch would send you some? Which of the flavors would you like? Fudge and I don't get along, way too much sugar. What's your opinion on Moonalisa? Any favorites or products you'd like to try? Never tried it. Wish there was more info on product ingredients obviously on her website. Assuming that they're reasonably natural, I'd be up for trying any of the product types I've mentioned liking from other companies (scrubs, hair care, etc.) plus dusting powder and bath salts. Or anything that you think she's amazing at. Are there any BPALs that you loved the idea of, the imagery - whether artwork or description - but which didn't work out for you? (I'm asking because if they did, you might mention them elsewhere, but if not, the imagery might be helpful) Quite a few actually. I'm a huge Catullus fan, but I always have to skip blends based on his work because they have doom notes. Anne Bonney was kind of sad too - smells amazing, but not on me.

What's a new company to you that you most want to try a product from or what would be a new product to you that you most want to try (make-up, perfume, or bath/body)? I can never pick just one. I have several “hmm, maybe I’ll try this next” things saved on etsy. If you like necklaces, what are some symbols or images that you would love to have a necklace depict? (ex. spiders, skulls, hearts...?) I mostly prefer abstracts - fleur de lis, scottish thistles, oak leaves, and suns are the exception to the abstract thing. If you had a fairy for NYCC, what exclusive scent would you kill to own? Actually, pretty much all the perfumes and atmosphere sprays have doom notes in them. What do you think of Shiro Cosmetics Halloween Collection? (www.shirocosmetics.com) the lip gloss is pretty, but I probably wouldn’t wear any of this given my aforementioned girlfail in the makeup department The Godiva Halloween Collection: link? nothing particularly stands out Would you be interested in comic books and if so what ones do you read or what genre of comics are you interested in? sure. I grew up on Love & Rockets, I’d love some of the collections. WITCHEE, DO YOU WANT ANYTHING FROM CALIFORNIA? Uh, nothing specific, no. IngenuiTEAs? not really Honeycrisp "Apple Crips" (Dried honeycrisp apples, nothing added.) DO YOU WANT SOME WITCHEE????? sure Design a tea? not particularly, but if you’ve come up with some fabulous blend that’s fine FusionSweets? (etsy) I often consider her stuff but never go through with it. Poe Day? Dark Del merch in general? wouldn’t mind Alone, but not excited enough about it to fight for it. Kombucha? NO Are you dressing up for Halloween, Witchee? If so, is there anything you're looking for to complete your costume? No, I live in a locked apartment and don’t have any halloween parties to attend Do you need any accessories for your smartphone (case, skin, etc)? I often look for nice smartphone wallets, but I’ve never found one that quite meets my criteria without being so expensive that it offends me

I live in Japan. Anything you would be interested in from there? Nothing specific Candy Corn: yes, no? Yes, but in teeny tiny quantities. I love the stuff, but I have a limited tolerance for that much sugar. WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH YOUR ASS OFF!!! movies, comedians, black humor, your partner, a comic strip? what? Besides Yewberry? Eddie Izzard, some webcomics, my husband, our dog being insane. You are meeting up with someone on a casual lunch/early afternoon thing. This person is someone you want to impress/look good for (for whatever reason, not necessarily romantic, and not necessarily for business either). What would you look like, given the contents of your wardrobe/etc? My wardrobe is suffering, so it would be difficult to pull something great together. I suppose I’d do dark wash boot cut jeans, a red tank top, and a black ¾ sleeve wrap shirt over top. Those clothes are the ones that fit me best, and black/red is a really good combination on me. My hair would be braided so that it wouldn’t go wild, but wouldn’t be too constrained in a pony tail either. If I were going all out, I’d add a pair of earring and some BPAL (impress but not work or romance related? Probably Madrid. It showed up as a frimp in my very first order. I never would have picked it. I rarely think to wear it (especially now). But, damn, that red wine smells amazing on me. It also comes off as a very non-calculated scent when I wear it - Madrid makes people go “wow, you smell good” not “wow, what type of perfume are you wearing”. You are to be let loose in a clothing store of your choice, to pick a full outfit, down to the shoes, the accessories, etc. and things would be altered to fit you if needed. What store would that be, and what would you look like? No store I know has the clothes I want. I suck at shopping. Depending on the mood, I could go three ways on which clothes to buy. 1.) The perfect pair of jeans. Jeans that fit like they were molded to my skin. Jeans that are just the right shade of indigo. Jeans that will last several lifetimes. To go with the jeans, the perfect black v-neck t-shirt. Soft, sexy, and won’t get crazy holes in it as soon as I wear it a few times. For shoes, I’ll just wear my black birks. No accessories necessary in that outfit other than hair that’s behaving itself (thick, luscious, curly) and maybe some show stopping nail polish. 2.) A drop dead gorgeous evening gown. Something in a vibrant jewel tone - probably red, blue, or green. Something that drapes to the floor but hugs all the right places on the way down. Something that has fucking straps - no strapless dresses in my fantasy world! Shoes would be a pair of badass, knee high Doc Martens with some thigh high stockings underneath (and, of course, a really fabulous garter belt/underwear set). Jewelry would be gems to match the dress (rubies, sapphires, or emeralds) surrounded by delicate silver filagree - a pair of dangling earring and a collar style necklace with bits hanging down off of it. 3.) An outfit that makes me look professional without looking dowdy. A pair of perfectly fitting black slacks, a jewel toned silk shell, and a tailored black jacket. Some open-toed but still perfectly professional shoes. The miracle of the outfit is that it would be the first professional outfit ever to leave me looking curvy (instead of lumpy) without my boobs unintentionally assaulting passersby. All three outfits would have one thing in common: the perfect bra. It would fit, be pretty, and make my tits look fabulous. Freya makes good ones, but they're too expensive to buy one just to wear on special occasions. They get worn out being everyday bras You open a box from the post office to reveal the 3 things you want most right now. What are they? (caveats: size doesn't matter, but they have to be tangible/buyable). To be honest, everything I want most right now is intangible. I guess what would make me happiest is a truly heartfelt surprise. The end of this month I'm going to Scarefest, the big horror and paranormal con in Kentucky. (www.scarefest.com) If I were your witch, is there anything you would like from there (skull jewelry, art prints from an artist that catch your eye, etc), or anyone whose autograph or photo or such you would dig? No thanks What is your holy grail "I'd kill to just have one drop in an imp" bpal scent? Pinched with Four Aces. I’m pretty much sure it would smell awful on me, so I’d never bother with the insane hunt to find it. That said, I’m convinced that it must smell glorious in the bottle. I wouldn’t even want to own the drop-filled imp. I’d just like to sniff someone else’s to confirm my suspicions Are there any existing Weenies that you have your eye on, but haven't gotten around to getting? I haven’t purchased and LE in several years. Weenies (spice, pumpkin, apple!) and Lupers (chocolate, red wine) tend to be my best LE series, so asking me what Weenies I have my eye on is mildly evil. The answer is “a ton of them”. The most interesting to me are on my wishlist. if you wear earrings, do you have pierced ears? Yes! My new job is at a consignment store where we have all kinds of designer brands for very reasonable prices. Are there designer clothes/purses/sunglasses that you desire/love? (Give some indication as to your "style" as well. For example, do you like bohemian-style frocks in lavender? Crossbody purses in black? Sunglasses that are round and bug-like?) I know nothing about designer clothes, and I feel like you’re probably sick of hearing about the clothing I like after the last several questions and my crazy pinterest boards. As far as bags and sunglasses go - I don’t carry a purse but can always use nice messenger/laptop bags, and I prefer subtle cat-eye style sunglasses to big round ones. I realize that we had a similar question in the ?aire, but I need you Witchee-s to list at least 5 items, each ranging $20 and under from Amazon.com or Walmart.com. I just really suck at this type of question. I try really hard NOT to buy random crap at amazon or walmart. So, here are the first five things I could think of that are probably <$20 and available at those stores 1. a modern-style solar battery charger (not the weird cheap plastic lunchbox style ones that don't quite work) or a solar cell phone charger 2. a Tom Waits album 3. AAA rechargeable batteries 4. protec humidifier cleaners (they look like plastic balls with a tab sticking out of the top, they’re used to keep mildew and grossness from growing in a humidifier) 5. Something for my hair - black, metal-free hair ties probably, but maybe a curling iron or foam curlers - I consider trying them out from time to time. In the meantime, let me know what you like to do on the Internet to kill time. Flash games? What are your daily websites/blog visits, or favorite YouTube videos? Now this is a dangerous question. Besides the obvious pinterest addiction, bursts of etsy window shopping, and daily forum checking, I spend most of my internet time reading blogs (16 that I like enough to check daily) and webcomics (20 daily checks). I also check G+ and Twitter, read Tales of Mu and Intimate History, play Mahjong and Solitaire (World of Solitaire has some amazing varieties), and lately I’ve been stealing the hubby’s facebook to play bejeweled blitz. Oh, and then of course there's all the porn Here are my favorites of the sites I check daily. Webcomics: Something*Positive, Questionable Content, Girls with Slingshots, Oglaf, Templar AZ (I can barely keep the story on this one straight, but I love Spike - I’m even contemplating picking up a copy of Smut Peddler when the hard copies become available. I already caved and bought Poorcraft, but I wish it were her art). I was also a big fan of Queen of Wands when it was around Blogs: The Bloggess, Joe Pastry, Smitten Kitchen, and Remedial Eating And what are your favourite characters from your fandoms? Like I said, I don’t really have any hardcore fandoms. I like a lot of stuff, but there aren’t many characters that I’m totally crazy about. I do think Zoe and Wash are awesome separately and in combination. I was obsessed with Spock when I was a little girl. My Little Pony... Cute or meh? No thanks. Lip balm - tube or tin? Tube, but I’ve been having trouble with chapped lips ever since I moved to Texas. If you have a magical lip elixir that will fix my problem and comes in non-tube form, I’m happy to try it. I do try to avoid petroleum products in lip balms (helps temporarily, but ends up leaving my lips even more cracked a short while later) Would you like to receive a journal or sketchbook? How about other pretty paper goods like post-its, notepads, bookmarks, letter paper/envelopes? Sure, but it’s not top of my list Are you interested in audiobooks? If so, any specific titles? Not really, but I’ll try something if you have a favorite. Bar soaps with some scrubby bits, yes or no? Scrubby bits, yes. Bar soap, not so much. I prefer cream soap, shower gel, and scrubs. Do you need any small electronic gadgets like flash drives and the like? Not really, but they never go to waste. I could use something to clean out my keyboard. Would you like a pair of knitted socks? Sure, not too thick though. I do, after all, live in TX. Do you have any use for knitted dishcloths, facecloths, etc, especially if they were fandom related? dishcloths for sure, but I’m not so sure about the fandom aspect Do you subscribe to any sample boxes, and if so, which ones? Would you like to receive some samples? I go back and forth on sample boxes. On the one hand, I love trying new things and getting surprises in the mail. On the other hand, I really hate waste. Most sample boxes seem to be filled with stuff that could easily be a miss for me. I have considered http://quarterly.co/ from either the Food52 ladies or the No More Dirty Looks ladies. do you have a problem with nudes??? If not, do you prefer male or female? Nope, nudes are just fine with me. I prefer female, but I have no problem with male. Paintbox Soapworks: Interested in anything from her? I love her sorbettos, I wouldn’t mind trying a small size of her lavender and honeysuckle or lavender and pumpkin butters, and I was super excited about her announcement that she’s releasing some kind of new bath product on oct. 1. Of her currently available scents, I’d be up for trying any of the following (they’re not in any particular order): Guy Fawkes Indian Summer Punkie Night Gingermilk Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground This Charming Man The Queen is Dead Avast The Englishman Lady Linden Heima are there any other e-tailers you're desperately wanting to try? if so, any specific items/scents/etc? Desperately? No. I have several “ooh, I should try these guys” items favorited on etsy. Anything bath oriented is likely to be fun for me. I’m also curious about Haus of Gloi since it has so many fans here on the forums. I’d be interested in trying any of their whipped soaps or bubbling scrubs. All of the scents except Haus Amber sound interesting. Insalata Nocturna sounds fascinating, but I’m not sure if it will be fabulous or too odd. ThinkGeek: anything interesting to you on there? Here’s the thing about Think Geek - a lot of the stuff on there is cute, but I don’t want to own it. So much of it is gimmicky. The only things I’d actually consider buying from there are practical things: solar chargers, keyboard cleaning putty, portable surge protectors, kill-a-watts, password managers, and maybe the dog ball throwing thing. What's one thing you want, right now, that you're having difficulty finding? Well, there are a number of intangible things, but as far as tangible stuff goes I guess the only thing close to that description is some really amazing towels. I want to own big, cushy towels. Towels that would make you excited if you went to a hotel that had towels that great. Who here is going to be picking up JK Rowling's new book on Thursday? Nope. I think she’s really cool as a lady (love the way she stands up for social services in the UK), but the first part of the Harry Potter movie made me ill which turned me off the possibility of the books. What do you do to take care of yourself when you're having a rough day (sick, life not going your way, whatever)? sleep, sleep some more, drink a hot rum toddy, sleep again, curl up in a nest of blankets on the couch, eat comfort foods, watch crap tv on netflix (only time I really watch tv, and I watch real crap - reality tv, bad romantic comedies, etc.), eat healthy foods, sleep, whine at my husband to take care of me favorite and least favorite baked goods? Favorite: chocolate anything, brownies without nuts, mexican wedding cookies, oatmeal spice cake (super spicy), ginger snaps, peanut butter/oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies, the sour cream coffee cake from the joy of cooking (with the cinammon sugar strudel, plus significantly more spices), cheesecake, pumpkin pie, blackberry cobbler, eclairs, pain au chocolat, southern style biscuits, fresh bread (cuban bread, french bread, po boy bread, dark brown almost sweet super dense bread, white mountain bread (woohoo publix!), white batter bread (a la smitten kitchen), sourdough, italian bread, all the bread). I’ll stop there. Least favorite: gloppy overly sweet stuff - I love dessert, but I don’t like that feeling of “oh god, I have given myself diabetes", anything with raisins, what size T-Shirt do you wear (standard AND babydoll)? Short answer: When in doubt: M in men’s standard, L in women’s standard/athletic or tissue tees, XL in baby dolls. Long answer: I own shirts from size S to size 2X. All of them fit. T-shirt are very brand specific for me because of the way I’m distributed. I’m short, I have tiny bones, and I’m an “ample” hour glass figure with HUGE boobs. I carry a lot of weight on a teeny-tiny underlying frame. I always go by size chart instead of size for that reason. I ignore the size letters/numbers and just find the size most likely to fit my measurements (44-38.5-48.5) based on the chart from that specific retailer. If I’m between sizes on a size chart (or if some of my measurements are in one size and some are in another), I always choose the smaller size. If you’re looking at a specific item/store, have someone send me a link and I’ll let you know which size is most likely to fit. I found a fantastic little shop while traveling that had unusual jellies and jams. Would you be interested in trying something like Georgia Moonshine Jelly or TOE Jam (each letter stands for some kind of fruit, I don't remember which ones) or something similar? How about homemade jam in general? Sure, I could definitely use some jam! I’m not super crazy about marmalade, but anything else goes. Would you be interested in homemade herbal remedies and tinctures? Sure. Things for respiratory ailments, sinus health, immune system boosting, heartburn prevention, and joint repair are especially welcome. Owls? I love owls, but I’m honestly getting sick of them right now because of how oversaturated the internet has become with them. Every etsy visit, I feel like I’m drowning in owls. Do any of Villainness' Soap Box exclusive scents interest you, especially any of the Smooches/Whippeds? I’d be up for any of the smooches except Lehua and Kill Switch. In general, though, I prefer smacks to smooches, so that particular list isn't making me run out to buy something. Puddin' just put a shitton of old Lunacy shirts on the BPTP Etsy! Any ones interest you? Not especially. Witchee, do you want anything from the Haunt update coming up on 10/3? I know it might be too early to say, but if you could look at the preview on the night of 10/2 and let me know if you want anything... I was lucky enough to try Haunt before it became so crazy to get her stuff. I like it, but I don’t love it enough to fight for stuff during the updates. I’d happily take her sugar scrubs or lusts, but I’m not jonesing for it. Gardening? My name is Vanesa, and I am a plant murderer. Do you use or would like to try loose eyeshadow pigments? Probably not. I have no idea how to use any makeup of any kind (besides nail polish). I try every once in awhile, but it never quite works out. I’m not much for fine detail work, and I have hooded eyes that mean that most eyeshadow (even if applied by others) makes me look very tired. Left to my own devices, I always look like a mixture between circus clown and insomnia victim. If you think you can overcome my girly-knowledge-failure, feel free to try. I have brown eyes, in case that matters. Is there anything you might want from the latest update (Lab or TP)? Huh, well, I’m almost embarrassed by how many things made me go “ooh, I want that”. I think maybe I haven’t gotten the the point I usually reach where I decide that while things sound nice, they’re not quite for me. Right now I’m still in the “it will all be mine!!!1” phase. I’m especially intrigued by: Pumpkin Vines (!!!!) Nadie Se Conoce any of the Pumpkin Flosses Shockingly, the atmosphere sprays really caught my eye (I’d try anything except witch's garden) Pumpkin Pie Bath Oil Again, shockingly, I’m kind of curious about the candles (any except all souls) If C8H10N4O2 weren't a soap I would be salivating over it, alas bar soap is my least favorite scent delivery device The candy sounds interesting All that said, I’ll probably be over almost all of it by the end of the week. Except maybe pumpkin vines, sounds yummy!

Do you like s'mores and s'mores-flavored things? Not really. I prefer chocolate and graham crackers solo (or mixed with other things besides marshmallows) and I’m super picky about my marshmallow eating. I only like them melted (like in rice krispies treats) or burnt. My hubby’s old band used to play regularly at an event called marshmallows and beer and I spent 8 years in girl scouts as a child, so I’ve had plenty of time to develop a very exacting regimen for marshmallow toasting. I like to set it on fire, let it burn for a bit (time dependent on brand of marshmallow and strength of flame), blow out the flames, pull off and devour the black husk, and then stick it back in the fire to burn the next layer. What's the neatest freebie you've gotten? It can be cool or thoughtful or just totally unexpected, and not limited to BPALdom. Oh goodness, there have been so many. I have to say that the first time I made a lab order, I was shocked by the frimps. I knew they would send samples, but I figured I’d get 1 or 2 at the most. I wasn’t expecting the sheer generosity. My first order was full of scents that didn’t quite work for me. I probably never would have tried again if I hadn’t felt so touched by the warmth that I felt when I got that package. Would you enjoy receiving cute but useful items like colorful kitchen utensils/gadgets, or bento supplies? (boxes, chopsticks, accessories, etc?) What about things like spice mixes (homemade, or Penzey's for example) Wow, that’s a jam packed question. Ok, one at a time: Cute but useful kitchen stuff: I don’t really do “cute” and I’ve got a pretty crazy amount of kitchen utensils already. That said, I do love cooking, so I always have a few random things that I want (check my etsy favorites or pinterest consumption board). What I could really use right now, though, are kitchen linens - napkins, dish towels, that sort of thing. Similarly, I'm also looking for scrub brushes or towels that can replace my sponges. Bento supplies: Not really. Bentos are too much work for me, and I’ve got more than enough chopsticks. Spice Mixes: If you’ve got a secret, go-to blend - sure. Otherwise, I got an amazing collection of spices from the wonderful GreenWoodTree in a different swap a while back, so I’m pretty full up. Do you like cute, seasonal or fluffy PJ bottoms? Like they sell at Target, Old Navy (they have had cute Halloween ones!) If so, what size do you wear? I don’t really shop at either place, but I do like draw string pajama pants. I prefer plain to cute. I’m generally an XL or XXL. I tend to err on the side of ordering a size smaller for most clothes if I'm in between size, but pjs I prefer a size up. What kind of chocolate do you like? Nuts, no nuts, white, dark, etc? Dark chocolate = plain, milk chocolate = nuts and other flavors, white chocolate = gross. As far as flavors and mix-ins go, I’ll try pretty much anything. I’m not crazy about hot peppers, bacon, or gooey caramels (too sweet, salted caramel is great). I live near a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Penzeys! What does your little heart desire from any or all of these places? I boycott Whole Foods, I’ve never been in Trader Joe’s (happy to try something, I just don’t know what they’ve got), and the Penzeys question is answered up above. Are home made foods acceptable or does the idea of eating strange mailed food disturb you? Not only acceptable, but preferable - strange mailed food FTW! I just gave you $20 and sent you into a "has everything" store ala Walmart and told you that you have to come out having spent it all, and none of it on anything you need. What would you buy? Be as specific as possible! I don’t shop at Walmart (seeing a pattern yet?), but at that type of store I would buy: nail polish, junk food, and hurricane disaster supplies (it’s more of a hobby/talisman against evil than a need, especially since I don’t even live in a hurricane prone state right now) What kind of cuisines do you like? (I mentioned this in my ?aire but curious Amy witch may like)And, what are your favorite restaurants? I like food. I’ll pretty much eat (and love) any food except chain restaurants. Italian (Americanized and more authentic), Greek, Lebanese, Persian, Latin American (prefer South American and Caribbean to Central American, but I’m flexible), North African, Southern/Soul Food, Tex-Mex, Cajun, Creole, all seafood of any kind, Spanish, Portuguese, some classic British food (steak and kidney pie was a pre-vegetarian favorite), Russian/Eastern European (I like beets and all the varieties of pierogi), Indian, Asian (My knowledge of Asian cuisines is limited, but Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Korean are my favorites in that order. I also harbor a weakness for both take-out American style Chinese and family style Chinese bbq places. I don't like most Asian candy/dessert that I've been exposed to.). I’m not crazy about Ethiopian because I don’t like injera. I think I’ll stop there. Favorite restaurants is a list that would take me hours to write. Within walking distance of my house, I like Hoover’s, El Chilito (it's over-run by hipsters, but they make a pretty solid burrito), and Salty Sow. I'm from Canada - is there anything specifically a witchee might like that is only available here? You know, I don’t really know enough about Canada to answer that question. I’d love to try anything you think I’d like. what are your "fandoms" and would you like a t-shirt from TeeFury if an appropriate one came up? Um, I guess Star Trek and Firefly/Serenity would count as fandoms. I don’t really wear t-shirts with logos/words on them except for sports teams. I’m a big Saints fan, and I could use a t-shirt for game days. Do you have an eReader and if so which one? Nope, I like to be able to smell my books. Do you like candles, or tart burners, or something? If so, what's your favorite scent to burn? I don’t really do candles or tarts. The fragrances used in most of them are too likely to trigger an allergic reaction. The few I do like, I already have. Marzipan? Yes, but in small quantities Would you be interested in washable/reusable muslin “paper” towels (basically muslin squares hemmed around the edge)? Maybe in some sort of box to put on your kitchen or bathroom counter? Yes! Although, in terms of boxes, I'm really not a fan of country or cutesy or, god forbid, shabby chic. Do you drink alcohol and if so, would you be OK with your witch sending you homemade infused vodka? Also, does your state allow alcohol to be shipped through the mail (for example, PA doesn't). I do drink alcohol (red wine, non-IPA beer, gin, rum, and the various forms of whiskey are my favorites). I don't drink vodka or tequila. Texas is... weird about alcohol. You can ship wine to Texas from out of state. I regularly get beer shipped here, so you can do that too. You can't ship liquor from out of state, but you can ship it in state (Spec's is probably the best choice for that). I'll be honest, though, and say that I'm not real concerned with liquor laws in this state. So, if you aren't either... If you get me (or a fellow Aussie, if there are any playing this round) as a witch or witch's minion, would you like to try some Australian specialties, such as TimTams (delicious chocolately cookies), Caramello Koalas (koala shaped chocolates filled with gloopy caramel), Australian native spices or anything like that? I love regional specialties! TimTams and native spices sound interesting (yes, I know I said no spices, but I make exceptions for awesome). Gloopy caramel isn’t particularly appealing. If your witch is a knitter, crocheter or sewer, is there a particular type of garment you would love to receive (hat, scarf, wrap, cowl, socks, fingerless gloves, arm warmers etc)? I’d love to receive your handiwork! Wraps, cowls, and fingerless gloves would probably be the best things for me off of that list. Is there anyone else in your house (kids, pets, partner) that would really appreciate a small gift being included for them in the switchwitchy haul so they don't feel left out? My husband will end up getting to share in most things anyways, so no need for specific items for him. Brady likes to shove his nose into packages I’m opening, so he would probably appreciate getting a treat. That said, he’s already spoiled, so don’t feel obligated. Since it's been mentioned several times, and I've also offered to nacho witch some, would you you like to receive wild rice and or maple syrup? I promise to include recipe ideas with the wild rice. Wild rice for sure! Maple syrup has me wavering. I generally don’t like it, but that may just be that I haven’t had “the good stuff”. Plus, my husband loves it and I’m constantly depriving him in favor of buying interesting honey or more cane syrup (*nomnom*) I have 5 bushels of tomatoes sitting in the kitchen right now that are supposed to turn into red sauce tomorrow, so would anyone like a basic red sauce (spaghetti sauce) to make its way to them? YES! A huge batch of the tomatoes I canned to last me through the winter got messed up (grr apartment stove). I love tomatoes, and I could definitely use a supplement to my own supply. Would you be interested in having a bat adopted in your name? Not at the top of my list, but they are pretty damn cute and I’m always pro-animal rescue How would you feel about a taste of (insert witch location here) box? Yes! Yes! Yes! Some of your favorite artists? Classic and modern? Huh, I am embarrassingly ill educated on art history. If you could have an image or certain subject painted for you on any type of "canvas" (on a box, on paper, on a canvas, and so on) - could you point your witch to some of these images? Um... not sure. I’m up for pretty much anything you think I’d like. Is there a GC scent that's been on your list for ages but keeps falling off the bottom of your order because of the LEs? Miskatonic U. The notes sound AMAZING but the association with Lovecraft doesn’t thrill me. I always think about getting it and then leave it off at the last minute. I've been getting into indie nail polish brands recently. What's your favorite indie brand of nail polish? Or what's your favorite mainstream brand of nail polish? Or are you not big on polish? Huge in to polish, but I have a seriously excessive Zoya collection (hooray for their trade in promotions!). Right now, the only polishes I’d really be interested in are some mattes - I’m dying to try some. Stuffed things: yea or nay? Meh New Question: mix-in-a-jar? How to you feel about cookie or cake or soup mixes that come in jars and you just add, like, an egg or water or what have you? Hmmm, usually I’d say no because pantry space is limited here and I like to cook from scratch. Right now, though, I’ve been avoiding the kitchen for emotional reasons. Some mixes might be a good way to ease me back into things. FYI, I don't own a microwave (not enough room in my tiny apartment), so please nothing that requires one. Would you be interested in beer, wine, or other specialty beverages from your Witch's area? Yes! I don’t like IPAs and my father-in-law makes mead (therefore we have literal cases of the stuff and do not need more), but other than that, and my aforementioned hatred of vodka and tequila, anything goes. Are there any crafts/skills you've wanted to learn but haven't gotten around to? And if so, would you be interested in supplies and tutorials? I am on the hunt for new hobbies. I like things that are a combo of practical and beautiful. Hobbies I’ve considered: weaving, knitting, quilting, basket making. I would try pretty much anything. If you think you can get me started, please do!!! Who here would be happy to get a lil' sumthin sumthin from Adagio Teas? Sure. I’m not a tea fiend, but I do drink a lot of ice tea. Anything that would work well for that purpose is good for me. I also enjoy Earl Grey and English Breakfast. Do you Ravelry? And if so, what's your handle over there? Would you be interested in gift patterns from your queue? Nope I live near this very cool Retro store (retrodrygoods.com) (you can order online too) - are there things from it that would make you squee if your witch sent them? Not really my style. Who likes Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses? No thanks. Love pumpkin, love spice, don’t really like Hershey’s kisses. What does your kitchen look like? Colors/style? I grew up in a home filled with rich, saturated color. My appliances stay in the neutral theme (black, silver, NO WHITE cause there's usually a lot of white already in apartment kitchens and white appliances are a pain in the ass to keep clean), but everything else is a riot of yellow and blue. In my tiny apartment kitchen, I have all of the following up on the wall: Crawfish Wine Burger Texas BBQ Tacos Pork Roast Shrimp Po'Boy Mussels Witchee, what are your favorite quotes? I’ve never really been able to pick any. Put your iPod/MP3 player/what-have-you on random and list the first 10 songs it plays! Well, I actually don’t have one really. I’m strictly streaming radio these days. I have a Slacker subscription. I do have a “quickmix” station, this is what I got: 1. Te Solte la Rienda - Jose Alfredo Jimenez 2. Mercy Mercy Me - Marvin Gaye (vastly prefer Bill Withers) 3. Social Love I - The Gits 4. Talkin’ Bout a Revolution - Tracy Chapman (love her, not my favorite song) 5. Sway - Dean Martin 6. Here’s a Health to the Company - The Chieftains 7. Happy One-Step - Beausoleil 8. Air - Ben Folds Five 9. By Your Side - The Everybodyfields (LOVE THEM) 10. Ahora Que - Sonora Tropicana (disappointing song, but I do love the genre and the band) Noticeable absences - 90s music (Pearl Jam, Primus, Toadies, Faith No More), Metal, Country, Bluegrass, Rap What's one random thing you really like and one random thing you really dislike? Like: The feeling of a slate being wiped clean - New Years, spring cleaning, the day after a (strong but not deadly) hurricane. That feeling that the world has reset and there’s a chance to start anew. Dislike: Weeds, nuts, and berries in my savory food. I’m a recovering vegetarian, I believe in natural food, but good night leave that shit to the cavemen. Complex agricultural societies evolved so that we wouldn’t have to eat bitter “mixed greens” any longer. And cooked nuts in savory preparations? Gross. Peanut sauce, cashew chicken, pad thai, and the rest can be eaten by someone else. Don’t even get me started on people who throw fruit into non-fruit needing savory dishes. I love fruit, but the world has no place for sesame-peanut-mango sauce or whatever crazy crap they come up with next. Are there any herbs that you haven't been able to lay hands on that I could send you? There's an herbal shop I really like here in NYC called Flower Power (flowerpower.net) that has quite a wide selection. Nothing specific. I’m always on the look out for things that will help boost my immune system or kill fleas. If there are no "witchy" shops near you, is there anything I can pick up for you from Enchantments? No thank you Hey Witchee! I want to send you a delivery. It could be cupcakes from a local bakery, it could be a singing hugging bear-a-gram, it could be a bouquet of flowers. But it will be something that you need to be there to receive. a) Are you OK with "special deliveries"? *waggles eyebrows* Um, sure. Here’s the thing, though, I work 10am-6pm M-F plus a lot of nights/weekends during the fall. I also take the bus, so my commute can be pretty time intensive. All of which means that I’m not usually home during delivery hours. My husband works crazy shifts, but he is usually off during the day at least one day a week, so he usually accepts deliveries for us. So, yes, but only if you think my husband will be able to deal with it in my stead. B..) Is the address in your questionnaire the best place to reach you for said deliveries? yes, I don’t accept deliveries at work. Work is for work, home is for personal business, never the twain shall meet. c) If the delivery requires a phone number (as say, some florists do) would you be OK with that information being tracked down by your Witch or asked of you anonymously? That’s fine, but please specify that it’s for deliveries so that I can give you the hubby’s number. What are some things you are OK with receiving gently used or homemade, and some things you absolutely do not want if they are gently used or homemade? To paraphrase my answer on a previous swap: unless you are gargling with your bath/body products and then spitting them back into the jar, I’m am fine with pretty much any level of usedness. I’m pretty cavalier about used stuff of all kinds. If you’re not embarrassed to send it, it’s ok with me. And now a new question: I live near a Mast General Store (mastgeneralstore.com). It has lots of vintage-y toys, southern foods (jams, jellies, spices) and vintage candy. Is there anything I can get for you? Nothing specific caught my eye (so much stuff, so overwhelming!), but it seems like a neat store. I’d be happy to get something from there if you want. Do you have any Fall or Halloween traditions? I hate fall. I know that’s tantamount to sacrilege around these parts, but it’s true. I like sunshine and heat and glorious humidity. Fall, to me, is the world’s slow death before the evil that is winter. If I could do away with those two seasons, I would. And I live in Texas, it’s not like I’m up north or something. I get sick every fall/winter. I have to work extra during this season for my current job. I think the weather is miserable. Just ICK to fall in general. I used to make a minor exception for Thanksgiving because it’s my mom’s favorite holiday. She doesn’t want to celebrate it without my brother, so now fall is pretty much an unbroken wasteland of unpleasantness for me. Just be thankful the question wasn’t about winter ::shudder:: Ninjas or Pirates? Pirates, no contest. Especially bad ass lady pirates. I have an extra room spray and 2 extra bath oils (one Cephalopod, one Exhibit Hall Fatigue) from Dragon*Con - would anybody like a decant? I’m definitely up for trying them, but they’re not top of my list so if you don’t have much, best save them for someone else. Witchee, would you like it if I made you a "mix tape" of songs that I think you might like? And if so, would you prefer mp3 or CD format? Sure! mp3 please I know it is totally the wrong season (for most of us), but do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you like to grow? I suck at gardening. I have one plant currently that has survived my ministrations. I’ve decided to stop while I’m ahead. I'm about to be near a Lush store next week, is there anything you might like from there? I stopped buying from there a while back. Most of their stuff that I liked (Ocean Salt, H’suan Wen Hua) has just too many chemicals for me to feel comfortable. I’d be up for some random bubble bars or bath bombs, though. I’m pretty desperate for a decent bubble bath these days - chemicals be damned. I used to like their crazy green, salt filled bomb that smelled like dirt and pine. I also like avobath, and that one with the roses. Bubble bar wise I liked the citrus one with the insane amount of glitter, the one with rose petals, the white minty one, and the coffee one that was supposed to be manly. Honestly, it’s been years since I bought from them, so I’m not even sure what they have these days. Songs that you keep meaning to buy but never get round to it? Nope, I buy whole albums, streaming radio subscriptions, and concert tickets. No single songs. Movies that you love but forgot to put in your questionaire? Not really. Any favorite Bath & Body Works scents/products? Don’t buy from them, so no idea. Haus of Gloi is offering custom perfumes - would you like one? What would your ideal blend be? No non-bpal perfume, please. Any Bath, Body or nutritional type items you would love to try from a Natural and Organic food store (similar to Whole Foods) that you don't buy because they are a bit too pricey? I’ve got a great co-op here, so not really. The one thing I would be interested in is shampoo/conditioner. I’m bored with what I’ve been buying around here lately, and I’m not sure what to try next. Recent brands I’ve purchased = Aubrey, Avalon, Nature’s Gate. Time for something new! No SLS or ‘cones please. I prefer no parabens as well. OK, so those of you who said you wouldn't mind receiving (sneakily packaged!) beer or wine: Tell me of your taste preferences. Dry/sweet? Red/white? Lager/ale/porter/stout? Fruit? Spice? Hops? Sour (brettanomyces, etc)? Wine: dry, red, not too acidic. I also like good sherry. Beer: I like the extremes - incredibly light wits/hefeweizens or dark, creamy stouts. I dislike aggressively hoppy beers. Can’t stand IPAs and their cousins. Witchee, will you be gone from your normal mailing address at any point during the round? Not planning to be Are you a Disney fan or does even thinking about Disney make your head hurt? If you're into Disney, would you like something from the Happiest Place on Earth ? Neutral. If you find something you think I’d love, sure. Otherwise, no thanks. dear witchee, would you, could you use an electric candle warmer? Nope Do you lust after some new socks/tights? Lust? Not quite, but I would love to get some. I almost always wear sandals, but, with cold weather and a lot of social events (hello family weddings) coming up, I’d love to replenish my stock of fun, funky, opaque socks and stockings. are there any of MeiLin's books (e-book or print) you'd be interested in? Sure! The cookbooks sound interesting, and I read her Intimate History work online regularly. Are you a gamer (of any sort - video, casual, tabletop) and are there any games you want? I haven’t gamed seriously since owning a Commodore (Wasteland and Bard’s Tale - BEST GAMES EVER). I have been getting a little itch to buy/play new dinner party games. Following Wil Wheaton on twitter and G+ is dangerous. Cards Against Humanity sounded interesting, but I’m up for anything that can be played while full and slightly tipsy. Would you be interested in BPTP CANDY? Um, sure. Do you like coffee? If so, what kinds? Flavored, fancy, basic? Beans or ground? Please no coffee. Part of my family is Colombian. They own two small coffee farms. I did a coffee swap on the forum a while back so that I could try all the exciting coffee options that I don’t usually buy because I’ve always got access to farm coffee. It was all great, but my curiousity is sated for now - back to supporting the family business. Would a Starbucks gift card make you happy or do you prefer your local place? Don’t do Starbucks except in airports when I'm desperate (are you even surprised by that answer at this point?). My nearest local place is http://www.bennucoffee.com/ - it’s literally across the street. I usually don’t go there because I would spend way too much time there if I let myself. I stop by for a treat now and again, though. CUSTOM-Made Pottery?? yea or nay? coffee mugs, rustic or more elegant? a set of bowls? soap dish? bird feeder? something alltogether different? and lastly, good colors for glazes...? Yes definitely, anything, elegant (please no rustic anything, totally not my style), any color but brown! Do you have a forum buddy? Someone who knows you and/or your tastes well enough to answer questions on your behalf? Sadly, no If you are on Livejournal, would you appreciate LJ stuff like paid time, custom userheads, stuff like that? If you are NOT on LJ but are on other sites that have similar paid-for services (Flickr, for example?) would you, and what are those sites/etc? Um, maybe a pro-renewal for Flickr (Vanesabl), but that seems like a huge gift. A question, witchees: if you are into tarot, what is your favorite card? Not into tarot And another question: would you like your own set of handmade rune stones or worry stones? No thank you Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cider, or none of the above? All of the above, with the aforementioned caveat about coffee Gum, hard candy, soft candy, or none of the above? All of the above, but I mostly like chocolate and interesting handmade candies. Loose tea or tea bags? Do you need anything for your loose tea? (Filters, presses, etc.) Either. My tea balls got wrecked a couple months ago. If you like tea, what kinds? Things in the English Breakfast range, Lipton iced tea (I know, I know, but it is the perfect thing for making big pitchers of iced tea so that I don’t drink soda all day long), some herbals. I’m not into blends that have smokey or sour notes. Do you do Goodreads or LibraryThing or a site like that? If so, can I see your to-read list, please? No, sorry. I tried goodreads, but I’m not social enough for it to be worth it. Zombies; Yay or Nay? Heh. Well. Both? I watch The Walking Dead and have a constant mental stream of what to do in case of zombie apocalypse (call it an off-shoot of the whole hurricane prep thing), but I think most zombie stuff is gross. My husband is a HUGE zombie movie (and video game, and comic book) fan. I’d just as soon avoid most zombie media out there, and I DEFINITELY don’t want anything with zombie imagery hanging about in my house. I did think Sean of the Dead was hilarious. If you have cats, do they like catnip toys? If you have doggies, would they like a super-reinforced canvas toy with a squeaker in it? No cats. Pup would love such a thing. Then again, he also loves abandoned tennis balls. If you have kids, what are they into? No kids How do you feel about wearable knitted lace? Shawls, wraps, and the like? So impressed by the talent that goes into things like that. I wish I could produce knitted lace - I’d have piles of dainty shawls and wrist warmers. Looking at the warehouse, I notice that our lovely Greenwoodtree is able to do chart readings and/or forecasts at a very reasonable rate. Is this something you would want? 1.) Greenwoodtree is amazing, 2.) no thank you.

Anne Bonny was one of my childhood role models, so, despite the fact that I really dislike incense and sandalwood, I couldn't resist trying this scent. Oddly enough, it smells nothing like the listed notes to me. Instead, as my boyfriend so bluntly put it, it smells like Old House. Not just any Old House, but an historic Southern home. It's the smell of worn wood floors and grand wooden stairways covered with a tinge of humidity and age. It's an incredibly evocative smell for me, but not one I particularly want to smell like personally. On the bright side, it makes a great room scent for my not-so-historic apartment.

At first I was a little hesitant about this one. The scrubby bits and the oil had separated a bit in shipping and, after I mixed it up, it was oddly reminiscent of rice pudding texture wise. Fortunately, I convinced myself to give it a try anyways. I used this as an (almost) all-over scrub in the shower rather than just for my footsies. Less than a teaspoon was enough to use on my entire body except my face and lady bits and I do NOT have a small body. The texture is perfect - silky without being too oily/greasy; definite scrubbiness to it, but not so much that it's harsh. The scent is divine and, in the shower, it just blooms. The entire shower was filled with delicious hot steam that smelled just like wassail (sweet, spicy, orangey, yum ). It made showering in a cold house (brr ) bearable.
