It's funny how different all of the reviews of this scent that I've seen so far have been. It changed DRASTICALLY from the bottle to application to drydown. In the bottle, it's sickly sweet, making my co-worker wrinkle her nose as she sniffed it. When she sniffed it on my recently applied arm, she said "it smells like incense" as she made a face. I agreed that it was a bit too strong and sour smelling - really strong apples with a hint of sour milk/plastic, which is exactly what Candy Butcher did on my skin, so I knew to blame the cream. HOWEVER, after a few minutes, it calmed down and the caramel finally came out to play, calming the cream down into something acceptable. Then later, more apple blossom with hints of caramel, still very strong, even slightly powdery. I don't think this scent is for me - it's almost too sweet, which is something I never thought I'd say! I will say this, though - this has some crazy strength to it! Wow!

    L'Heure Verte

Um, this scent is awesome in ways that I didn't expect. I've been craving some good rose scents lately, and I didn't expect it to come from L'Heure Verte! My skin generally amps rose, so when this dries down I get a light, slightly sugary rose smell. I don't smell much alcohol (which generally turns extremely spicy on my skin) or lilac, but I can tell that there are other things blended in there with the rose, making it smell slightly complex. This scent is not overpowering, though when I initially put it on, I was afraid that it smelled soapy, which is a common problem for me. Luckily, the dry-down calmed my fears, and now I have an interesting new rose perfume to curb my cravings! The only problem I detect is that it doesn't seem to have a ton of staying power on my skin.

This is so strange - for only having two floral notes, this scent is extremely flowery on me. It's a very soft, feminine scent, with the lilac coming out on top, though I can tell that there's a creamy quality that only vanilla can lend to a scent. My favorite part is actually the background of tobacco, which I only catch every now and then... I recognize it as the scent in Shadwell that I love so very much. As with most florals, the scent seems to stick around on my skin for quite a while.
