    Verdandi

It smells like sweet apples & some spice while wet. Problem is, I put this on the sides of my neck this time. When it dries off, I smell mostly the black amber, unless I move my head, then I smell the spiced apples scent again. It's strange, & the black amber seems sharp to my nose, but it could be my imagination. When I wore this on my wrists, I couldn't pick up the amber at all, so it may have something to do with the proximity to my nose.

    Bon Vivant

I had this imp for awhile, & I liked it at first, but after wearing other scents, I realized this really isn't for me. It smells exactly like strawberry champagne, but it smells too boozy on me. I like alcohol notes, but I prefer them if they don't smell boozy.

    The Hesperides

It smells like tart apples & honey, maybe a bit of oak bark. The oak bark is much stronger when wet, it gives this scent as odd smell I couldn't figure out when I first wore it. Unfortunately, this scent lasts a few hours on me, before I have to reapply. Finishing the imp, but I won't buy it in the bottle.

    Delirium

Yuck. This was positively foul. I don't know whether it was the overpowering rose or the lemon mingling with the overpowering rose, but it just didn't work on me. It was mostly rose, with a touch of lemon, then it smelled like cleaning product with tons of throw. No apple. Swapped away.
  5. I thought Verdandi & Mabon smelled similar. Verdandi is Mabon without the boozy scent on me. The blackberry wine in Mabon faded quickly on me, so I was left with spiced apple cider. Verdandi's got that same exact scent (again, minus the booze).

    Lady MacBeth

Even though I bought a bottle of this, I realized I never added a review on here. I got the imp awhile back from a swap, since then it's moved on to another home because I bought a bottle soon afterward. Lady MacBeth is currants & red wine, with some berries mixed in. I can smell thyme when it's still wet, but once it dries, it's all currants & wine. The wine doesn't stand out as much, it acts as a helper scent. It helps Lady MacBeth throw all over the place. It acts similar to Bordello, which also shares that wine note that I don't smell, but that throws ALL over the place. It doesn't throw as much as Bordello & it doesn't smell as sweet. It has the same amount of throw as Midwinter's Eve (another fruity/plum/wine scent). Every time I moved, I smelled Lady MacBeth in the air. It lasts all day, keeps about the same consistency once dry, wonderful fruity scent. Smells red & sweet. I could still pick up Lady MacBeth in the air around me even at 3 pm, this was six hours after I applied it. Wow. LOVE.

    Kumiho

Vial: Lightly tea, slightly lemony? Wet: Ginger smells like sour lemon, white tea is very strong, almost like a floral. Dry: Same as above. Ginger still smells like lemon. Ginger behaves oddly in this one - lemon? Sharp & biting as usual. Ginger always smells like that, never softens at all. I might need to let the bottle settle for a week though, I bought this unsniffed, & it's a tad headache inducing on me.

    Sudha Segara

Vial: Milky with a bit of ginger. Wet: Very milky with lots of ginger, which bites hard. Dry: Milky & ginger. Zero sweetness from this. Wafts about quite a bit in the air, took me a few minutes to realize it was me. It behaves similar to Silk Road on me. Silk Road & Sudha Segara both share a milk note in them. I recognize it now, but before I tried this one I was able to figure out what that was. I probably wouldn't buy a big bottle of this, since I'd rather buy a bottle of Silk Road, which has that bit of spiciness that I prefer over the ginger's bite.

    The Apothecary

Vial: Herbal tea. Wet: Green grass & herbal tea. It smells very green. Dry: Nope, back to the herbal tea, but with ginger's sharp bite. The ginger becomes less sharp as it dries, but it remains very green. No fig from this one at all. Follows in the same vein as Embalming Fluid - clean, fresh, though a little more sharp. Not sure if I'd buy this in a bigger size, I've tried a few others that are similar (i.e. Empyreal Mist), so I'd have to think about it.

    Silk Road

Vial: I can't smell anything. The scents are too light for my nose to pick up. Wet: Definitely spices & very light florals. A touch of herbal as well. Can't put my finger on what they are exactly. Dry: Spices, but the florals are gone. The spices smell exotic & similar to Scherezade (minus the musk). Spices & oil, perhaps the sort of things you'd find in a Middle Eastern/African market. It smells somewhat like cinnamon. I think the florals are still there, but it takes them awhile to come out again. I think that creamy note I couldn't make out previously is probably milk. I tried Sudha Segara a few days afterward & realized it's the same scent. It's very complex. It starts off very simple, but it changes gradually as it dries down. It's not foody or incensy. It has very good throw on me, once it dries out, it lasts awhile. It's warm & rich, I think I'm going to have to buy a bottle of this one.

    Penitence

Vial: Frankincense & myrrh. Wet: Smells like dirt. Dry: Smells like wood. Cedarwood. Doesn't smell like incense much, which I thought it might be like, but no. Off to swaps.

    Empyreal Mist

Vial: Wet, tangy, light floral Wet: Tangy, slightly green, but the floral is coming on strong. The floral is light perfumey, but not heavy. Dry: Now there's more greenery, the floral isn't as strong anymore, but there's the same tangy scent in the air also. It reminds me of Embalming Fluid, but Embalming Fluid with florals. There's something light & airy about it, & it also complements nicely with Aizen-Myoo, which is on my other wrist.

    Aizen-Myoo

Vial: Citrus & light floral, a little bit of black tea. Wet: Yuzu & kaki, black tea, and...hello there's the cherry blossom. Dry: Cherry blossom is going nuts on my skin, but it blends nicely with the yuzu. No tea, though. It's a bit more floral than I would've wanted, but the yuzu scent hasn't faded away. I can't say that I don't like it, but it's not something I would get in a bottle. I'll hang onto to it, try it a few more times.

    Blood Countess

Imp: Plum & gardenia Wet: Plum, but the gardenia is strong & there's a tiny bit of lilac. Dry: Still plum, but gardenia is weaker now & the lilac is much stronger. The lilac & gardenia even out & they combine to become a very heady floral on me. The plum is still there, but it's fighting a losing battle against the two florals. I had hoped that this would be another plum/light floral scent, but I don't think I'm meant to wear anything with lilac in it.

    Bathsheba

Vial: Carnation & a bit of plum. Wet: Carnation & plum, with a bit of musk. Dry: Same as above, though when it completely dried out, it was all plum. I love plum, but this scent doesn't become heavily plum like any of the others I've tried. I've noticed that carnation holds back any note that likes to go wild on me (ie: Alice - rose is not overbearing). Plum normally goes wild & has tons of throw, this one it doesn't. It's a light scent.

    Danube

Vial:Rhododendron with citrus & aquatic note. It's similar to R'lyeh, but I have a bad feeling about the floral in this one. Wet: More rhododendron. It becomes stronger once I apply it to my wrist. The citrus scent is still there. Dry: The aquatic note has all but faded. The citrus scent starts to fade as it dried. Only the rhododendron got stronger. Much stronger. It's a very perfumey floral. I received this as a freebie from a forum purchase. It smells similar to R'lyeh initially, but overall, it's too floral for me. I would like it more if it were less perfumey & more citrus/aquatic.

    Springtime scents

All my Spring scents lack seriously in florals (flowers = pollen = sneezy, so I avoid). Neo-Tokyo Embalming Fluid Shanghai Storm Moon (I associate rainstorms with Spring.)
  18. oatmealneko

    Jester

Vial: Berry candy. Wet: Reminds me of this strawberry candy I used to like. Dry: Now the neroil kicks in. The berries lose their candy scent, & start to smell like real berries & currants. Jester smells exactly like Akuma, up until the dry-down. I didn't like Akuma because it was much too sweet. Due to the neroli, Jester smells better. I'll keep the imp, but it's not worth getting a bottle.

    Danse Macabre

Vial: I can't smell anything. Wet: I thought it was kind of a floral, but probably not. It's green, & herbal, & there's a touch of something I can't place. Incense-like. The green is almost minty with a sharp bite to it. Dry: Incense with a bit of herbal. The sharp edge is gone now. It's relaxing & comforting. It's very unique. Danse Macabre is somewhere in the middle, not too woodsy, not too incensey. The frankincense might put off some people. It's got a lot of throw.

    Siren

Vial: Fruity. Apricot, definitely. Wet: Apricot & ginger, with a hint of jasmine. I can't pick up any vanilla in this blend. Very fruity. Apricot is fading fast though. The ginger adds a bit of bite. Dry: SOAPY. Ginger's still hangiing on, but it smells like jasmine soap. This one is going back into the swap pile. It started out great, I love apricot, but it has zero lasting power on me. Jasmine overwhelmed me yet again.

    Pronouncing "BPAL" and scent names!

How does one go about pronouncing "Tzadikim Nistarim"? That "tza" sound is probably going to kill my poor tongue.

    Black Phoenix

Vial: Cherry vanilla. Wet: Cherry vanilla, & the cherry is turning into cough syrup, but there's a sweet SWEET smell to it. Dry: Cherry cough syrup-vanilla with jasmine. Now it's smell sweet & soapy. Very soapy. Ugh. I don't think I got past 15 minutes with this one, I had to scrub it off once the jasmine kicked in.
  23. oatmealneko

    Morgause

In the vial: Violets. Lots of them, too. Wet: Violets & some of those purple fruits are there. Nothing that I can identify, it smells slightly fruity. Dry: See above. It doesn't get stronger, or smell weird, actually it didn't do anything. Violets & slight fruity. Stayed the same. Boring blend, rates an "eh" with me. I got the imp in a swap, but I was expecting a little more. Back to the swap pile with this one.

    Tzadikim Nistarim

Vial: Pineapple or mango, very fruity. Wet: Still that same fruity smell, either pineapple, mango, or passionfruit, possibly some type of tropical fruit, also a faint hint of herbal scent. Dry: There's still that faint hint of herbal scent lurking in the background, but the tropical fruit smell has become stronger, & there's quite a bit of throw to it now. It's bright & clean, there's no sharpness to the scent nor does it turn sweet, either. It also has excellent staying power. I put it on this morning, & can still smell it this afternoon. Love love love. I'm definitely getting this in a bottle at some point.

    Storm Moon

Ozone. Definitely ozone, & far sharper than I'm used to smelling it, in other scents. I like the softer ozone in Neo-Tokyo, but yet this sharp ozone in Storm Moon is great, but takes some getting used to. Ozone is actually one note that does agree with me, it's probably why Neo-Tokyo lasts so long. I put this on this afternoon, & I was still smelling hours later, it's been six hours now? I still smell it! It loves me & it doesn't want to leave me, which means that Storm Moon has tons of lasting power. I LOVE this scent, & I'm glad I picked up a bottle. It smells fresh & clean, it reminds me of the way the air smells during a storm.
