    #20 Love Oil

Starts out very herbal and lemony, then turns into a powdery floral. There's a bit of spice to this, something that tickles the back of my nose. It's a clean, soft smell. Very nice. I may have to consider a big bottle of this.

This really is leather, tea, and lemon. Tea scents generally like me, and this is just gorgeous on my skin. The leather is rich and worn and lived in. The Earl Grey is perfect. I like this on me, but I would LOVE to have a man to put it on.

    Leanan Sidhe

... Her perfume is a crush of Irish herbs and flowers, Gaelic mists, and nighttime dew. This is all lovely soft herbs and flowers on me. It reminds me of a perfume my grandmother wore when I was a little girl. It's very sophisticated and almost regal, but lasts all of fifteen minutes on me. I'll have to swap it for something that lasts a bit longer.

    Silk Road

Dusty spices. That's about all I can smell. I'm reminded of a back room in a florists shop in my hometown. It's an interesting scent, but just not for me. Off to the swap with it.

    Whip

I LOVE this. Wet it's primarily rose, then the leather takes over for a few minutes on me. Fifteen minutes later, however, I smell like a perfect blend of both. I need a bottle of this, as soon as possible.

Big Red gum. Yup. I just can't wear strong cinnamon scents.

    Two, Five & Seven

I was mystified by this in the bottle. It smelled very VERY fruity and boozy, like a wine cooler, and I could barely smell the rose at all. Like, a wine cooler that had been exposed to radiation and had grown into a self-aware being who threatened to jump out of the bottle and strangle me at any given moment. Honestly, it took me a few days to get up the nerve to actually put it on. Today, however, I decided to throw caution to the wind and slathered myself in it. I'm terribly glad I did. At first, this is ROSE. As another reviewer mentioned, I was reminded of a rose perfume I had when I was a little girl. I think it came with a My Little Pony. Anyway, after five or ten minutes, the green grass came out and the rose matured, for lack of a better word. It's still crazy, bright roses, but the grass balanced out the sweetness. This is absolutely lovely; I felt like I was going to a garden party all day at work. About ten hours later, I can still smell it on my wrists, but it has faded into a warm, almost musky rose. Very sexy. I love this, and am so glad I've got a bottle of it.

    Highwayman

So. I'm on a quest to find the perfect leather scent, and in my last order I got an imp pack of scents with leather notes. Highwayman smells NOTHING like the discription on me. I get the leather, oh my yes, but that's about it. The jasmine and gardenia do not show up at all. It's a very dusty, slightly smokey scent on me. As it was drying, I was convinced there was citrus of some sort in it, but that's faded as time went on. The leather is almost sweet now, which I suspect is a result of the florals, but the cinnamon never shows up at all. What's interesting though is that I think it is perfectly evocative; I'm thinking of the leather of a saddle and standing outside an inn smelling the smoke from the fireplace. Great throw, as well. I don't think I'd wear this often, but I'm going to have to keep the imp.

    Santo Domingo

I'd ordered a bottle of this on a whim, because although I was slightly wary of the bay rum I LOVE the smell of drying tobacco. On me, this was not masculine in the least as I had feared. For the first thirty minutes the rum is the most prominant, but after that it blends in with the florals and the tobacco comes out. This is just the most lovely spicy and warm scent. I'm very glad it arrived after I'd spent a few weeks outside swimming, because I could not imagine wearing this without a tan. I'm not sure if I'll wear this during winter or just save it for summer and vacations in warm places.

    Bayou

A lovely, sweet, humid floral. There's something damp and warm about the floral, this is definitely a summer scent for me. After a few hours, it fades to an almost creamy powdery smell on me. It's very soft, but nice.

    Val Sans Retour

In the imp: Green! Fresh cut grass and lemon. On me: This is so lovely. It smells exactly like a lush green pasture of grass, sunwarmed and sweet. The lemon fades until it's just an accent, and there's a bit of herbs and wildflowers in the background. As has been said, this fades VERY fast. I'd love it it if lasted longer, but as it is I'll probably just end up buying a 10ml and slathering excessively and often when it becomes available. So perfect for spring and summer days outside.

    O

In the imp and wet on my skin, this is gorgeous drippy honey. I'm really loving BPAL's honey note. As soon as it starts to dry, the honey fades a bit and the vanilla and amber become more prominent. Absolutely luscious. The longer I leave this on, the more musky and almost sticky sweet amber this becomes. This scent almost makes me blush. I definitely need more of this.

    Masquerade

I'm liking this way more than I expected to. This is definitely a patchouli scent, but the orange blossom and carnation blend beautifully with it. Slightly orangy and peppery, this is very dark and mysterious. Herby and smoky, it's evocative of castles lit my candles and huge fireplaces. I may actually have to get a bottle of this.

    Siren

Damn. I really hoped I was going to love this, but it's all apricot and vanilla on me once it dries. It's rather cloying, and although I can get a hint of peppery ginger if I smush my nose to my elbow. The jasmine doesn't show up on me at all, however. Smells lovely in the imp, but just isn't working on my skin.

    Mata Hari

The florals in this are just lovely, mostly jasmine on me with rose blending subtly in the background. The coffee, however, goes evil at first in combination with my nose. Wet, it smelled exceptionally bitter, and although the coffee is a much less dominant note on my skin, it's still bitter. Drying down the jasmine takes over with a bit of wood and rose in the background, and the coffee is starting to blend in rather nicely. I don't get any of the vanilla, however. This is very exotic and femme fatale to me, but Mata Hari and I are just not clicking. Lovely, but not my style.

    Bastet

Hellooooo almond! Wet and in the imp, this is a sweet and spicy floral, a lot of lotus with a little bit of musk and spice and almond. Once it begins to dry, the almond takes over the scent. I can still catch the lotus a bit, and there's a hint of amber, but it's mostly just a creamy musky almond on me. Not bad, but also just not me. I'll have to try it again in a few days to make sure my nose and/or skin isn't just having a wonky day, but I may have to swap this one.

    Vinland

Very pretty. The tart berry is the primary note for me, with the florals and a little bit of woodiness in the background. It's a very fresh, breezy smell, almost cold. This would be very nice in the summer.

    The Unicorn

My lovely swap faery sent me an imp of this, and I am so so glad. In the bottle it's tart and herby white florals. Very gentle and summery. A few minutes after I put it on I sniffed my wrist and was astonished. It smells almost exactly like this white clover and linden lotion that I was given a gift of a few years ago and could never find again. I LOVE this. It's soft and fresh and has surprisingly good staying power on me. It's my perfect innocent girly fragrance. I will definitely need a big bottle of this.

    Bluebeard

Wow. Perhaps it's just due to the power of suggestion, but I'm going to echo any_old_actress on this and say that when I first smelled the imp I got pickles. Once I put it on, the pickled smell goes away, and it's mostly violet and and damp wood. The lavender doesn't show up at all on me, which makes me sad. It makes me feel like I'm eating violet pastilles in my grandmother's attic. Interesting, but it's just too much violet for me.

La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of this scent as sparkly. I barely get any florals from this for some reason, it's just a sweet, tart, aquatic smell that's almost carbonated. It tickles my nose. This is a very fun, effervescent scent, but it's just not me.

    The Dormouse

Mmm, tea and grass. This smelled so lovely wet, light green florals and sweet grass backing up lots of tea leaves. It's very soft and clean, but unfortunately my skin devoured it. Five minutes later I could barely smell a thing. I'll try it again, but I suspect it just doesn't last long enough on me to make it worth getting a bottle. My quest to find the perfect green tea scent continues.

    Machu Picchu

This is definitely not what I was expecting. I'm not getting any fruits out of this, once it's dry. In the bottle and wet I get a little bit of citrus and a touch of mango, but once it dries it's just very soft, sweet and creamy in a way that surprised me. This is indeed a very comforting scent. It's not very strong or long-lasting on me, but it's great right before I go to bed.

    Athens

Wet, this is all honey on me. As it starts to dry, the myrrh shows up and makes this a lovely, warm, dusty fragrance. Very soft and sweet. I can just catch a whiff of the flowers in the background. I'm not getting any wine at all, but this is absolutely gorgeous even without it. Yummy. ETA: Hmm. Most of the sweetness has gone away, and I'm left with a slightly bitter, smoky and resinous smell. I can still smell the honey and flowers if I try hard enough, but I don't think I like this enough to keep it around once it's changed.

    Ahathoor

Wow. This oil is dry and hot and bright without being citrusy or spicy at all on me. Ahathoor is all dusty sage-y herbalness once it dries, evoking the desert at midday perfectly. It's far too cold and wet where I am to wear this right now, but I'm definitely saving the imp for summer.

    Skuld

Ylang ylang, honey, Egyptian and Arabian musks and labdanum. Hmmm. I'm trying so hard to like this. Sometimes, it's sweet musky honey with soft florals in the background and is very nice. Most of the time, though, I smell grape. Grape koolaid, to be precise. I may have to swap this if my skin and I can't get over the grape.
