    The Coiled Serpent

I received this as a freebie with a recent order. Wet and in the bottle it smells like a harsh version of Ace of Pentacles- all dirt but with no promise of renewal. For some reason, I never recognize patchouli in a scent until someone points it out. I put it on wrists, neck and the nape at the hair line (where it doesn't get so much skin contact). Dry Down- Around my head it maintains the dirt scent but on my wrists it is quite soft and sandalwoody with some floral. No vetiver that I can detect. This is a very interesting scent but I don't like it as much as Ace of Pentacles.
  2. I adore Stella- I had a sample card for about 6 month and finally bought it when I was at a duty free shop at the airport. it is still one of my all time favorite scents because I like the sharp tang that goes with the rose. I get no licorice out of it at all. Of all the 60 or so BPALs I've tried, Wolfsbane reminds me the most of Stella. Evne in the bottle I thought that. I immediately ordered the big bottle!

    Harlot

The first BPAL scent I ever tried was Silentium Amoris which is like a GIGANTIC rose scent. I love rose scents but that one was even a bit much for me. My usual store bought perfume is Stella which is rose and amber (and worth a sniff if you are near one of those perfume stores). Harlot is what a lot of people have said already, a much softer, fresher rose. It's like it has been fresh cut with the green still there. I don't smell any cinnamon at all. Oh wait, if possible, the cinnamon may be adding a slightly sweet tone. I like this scent all the way through but it fades quickly. I'm wondering if using it in a lotion might give it more staying power.

    Kweku Anansi

I love this scent!! love it love it love it!! Like others, my first impression was grassy but also kind of fruity. I wondered where it was going. Wet, it was nice but didn't do much for me. But Dry it is very complex on me, I keep getting different whiffs of tea and berries and grass and maybe even some water nearby. This is what I look for in a scent, something that makes me keep saying "wow, is that me??" and want to sniff it again and again.
