    Blood Rose

Imp: Wow…Red wine FIRST and a whiff of the dragon’s blood Wet on Me: barest hints of the red rose, and so far does not smell like spray red rose, still getting touches of the red wine as well Drying Down: Rose is mellowing and the dragon’s blood begins to rise and mingles with the red wine Dry: well rounded scent. Nothing overpowering now. Rose, wine and dragon’s blood all equal and balanced. This is nice but I don’t’ see myself wearing it a lot, so I think I’ll rehome the imp.

    Plunder

Imp: Cinnamon over tea Wet On Me: Very much cinnamon with the tea lurking in the background Drying Down: the tea is beginning to catch up in the race with the cinnamon Dry: It’s tea time…stirred with a cinnamon stick. While in the background, someone has just opened the tobacco pouch to pack a pipe. Really deep sniffs bring traces of the nutmeg out. The cinnamon in this did warm a spot on the back of my hand where I had applied it. Interesting…I may keep this.

    Grandmother of Ghosts

Imp: somewhat green with ghost of pepper Wet on me: More woods now with the peony and that pepper ghost whisper Drying Down: woods and the good parts of pepper now…lovely. Dry: This is finding your grandmother’s favorite shawl or throw and wrapping yourself in it. This is wood, and a touch of the peony floral and a wee tad of the pepper. Luckily the lily does NOT show up at all here. Keeper for the memories it brings.

    Imp

Imp: Patchouli with tiny notes of peach on first sniffle Wet on Me: Warm and enveloping. The patchouli is softened by the musk and peach this smells like golden would smell Drying Down: Still smells what I think ‘golden’ would smell like. The peach is playing hide and seek but I get glimpses of it. Dry: The amber and musk shine the brightest now even over the patchouli and the peach adds that tempering note from the shadows it resides in. This is love. This is a keeper

    Tiger Lily

Imp: Woah! Heavy Lilly Wet on Me: Really heavy lilies. This may make me sneeze Drying Down: Lilly Bug Spray. Dry: Lilly scented bug spray. I now know what they scent bug spray with….Lillies. This is sooo not for me. Lilly is the one note/scent that just rubs me the wrong way. To the re-homing pile

Imp: Sharp…..Fire…Smoke… Wet on Me: Pine? I smell a resin-y pine-y trace in the fire and smoke. Drying Down: Smokey pine. What it smells like after your Campfire/bonfire burns out. Dry: Still that post fire scent. Reminds me of fall evenings. I like this. Different and quirky for me. A little dark and unexpected. Keepin the imp. This is magickal!

Imp: initial sniff…floral Wet on Me: Lilac and orchid Drying Down: Sandalwood is coming out of the shadows a bit to play now. Dry: Sandalwood and the rosewood and a wee touch of the bergamot holding hands with the red musk now. This is nice and pleasant. I think I’m keeping the imp

    Ravenous

Imp: Patchouli with the slightest whisper of orange Wet on Me: Orange patchlouli that reminds me of furniture polish? Drying Down: a deeper more complex patchouli seems to emerge now. Dry: Lovely earthy patchouli that feels warmed by the whispers of orange now. This is amazing. Another new favorite I think.

    Hurricane

Imp: Dark and Dank and rotting Wet on Me: wet rotting wood? Still dark and Dank…like an old cellar Drying Down: This is a burnt out forest right after the fire and a quick rain. Smoke and Rot. Dry: Oh this is too much for me. Not my bag baby. Off to the rehoming pile this goes.

    Vicomte de Valmont

Imp: Totally a men’s cologne vibe at first sniff. I smell the sharp of mint and rosemary and geranium Wet on Me: Green cool herbal crispness. Nose-to-hand. Drying Down: This is wafting up to my nose and just slaying me in a good way. I know I have to try this on the Bird. Mint offsets the rosemary and the rose geranium peeps up between them… Dry: More white musk joining the play but still this is total I swiped my boyfriend’s sweater and I wear it constantly. MUST HOARD!

    Whitechapel

Imp: Lilac first and the barest hint of citrus lurking underneath Wet on Me: Now lime and citron over the lilac Drying Down: I would not think this totally masculine, but rather more unisex. Stong lime now, with the lilac undertones and the barest of whispers of white musk coming out. Dry: Lime and Lilac but good lilac. And balanced out by a white musk that is not overpowering at all. This smells like hot sticky humid Deep South in the spring. Really nice. I think it’s a keeper.

    The Coil

Imp: Clean and Mint…almost Mouthwash Wet on Me: Crisp. The mint recedes a tad but still crisp Drying Down: Still a wee bit of mint and the ozone shines more now. Not getting a strong eucalyptus yet but that is okay. Dry: Cool, clean crisp ozone and mint but not peppermint… but the coolness that mint brings. It has that smell of snow is coming that the air gets around here in the winter.

    Harlot

Imp: Oh this is rose alrighty. I’m almost afraid to try it Wet On Me: strong powder room rose. Drying Down: really strong rose. Almost makes my Eyes water. Not getting any cinnamon yet. Dry: now the cinnamon comes out and it becomes cinnamon Covered powder room roses This goes on the re-homing pile ADDED March 5: Imp: rose….. Wet on Me: More rose but that faint hint of cinnamon Drying Down: The cinnamon and the amped rose are not playing nicely on my skin. And I’m not sure how to make them go to their separate corners. Dry: My body seems to make rose go all canned air freshener on me. I smell live roses and they are lovely, but put rose on me and whammo…no likey Coldie. To be re-homed

Not sure how I received an imp of this but I will treasure it: Imp: Spicy…almost dragon’s bloodish spicy. Wet on Me: still a spicy I know but can’t quite put my nose on it Drying Down: spicy, rich, deep a tad resiny and incensy. Dry: Smells ancient and mysterious and all knowing. Feels like a scent I’ll save for ritual purposes.
