    Snake Charmer

Yep - this one was what I was hoping for, Snake Oil, but better (with coconut). The coconut note was what convinced me to take a gamble on this one, and it doesn't dissapoint. Snake Oil can go kinda funny on me, playdoh or something. Snake Charmer doesn't have this problem, thankfully. I get the same vanilla and spices, with just a tiny bit of coconut. After I've been wearing it for a while (like, say, 6 hours), it ends up calming down to amber and vanilla and a bit of musk. I don't need very much of it at one time, so I imagine my bottle is going to last forever.

    Antique Lace

Like nearly everyone else, on me, Antique Lace is vanilla, musk, and maybe some light floral. I don't know how else to describe it, but Antique Lace smells like me, only better. It's light enough that I can wear it anywhere, but has a fairly good waft, so that I can smell it for the entire day. I originally bought an imp just prior to it being discontinued, and I didn't get it in time to try it before the discontinuation. I tried it and loved it, and was crushed that I couldn't get more. But now, I'm so buying a bigger bottle so I can slather to my heart's content.

    Desire

Oddly enough, I get zero citrus or apple from Desire, even in the vial. On my skin, it's mainly wood and vanilla, maybe a little rose, patchouli and musk. This surprised me, as rose usually dominates any blend that has it. It sort of reminds me of Formula 54, just without the very dominant rose. Delicious.

    Bastet

The almond shows up, briefly, on my skin. Once it receeds, I'm left with spices and lotus, and maybe some musk. Lotus is one of those ingrediants that can go either way on my skin - some days it's nice, some days it's overpoweringly bubblegum. Bastet behaves better than other lotus blends I've tried, and when it does behave, it's lovely. I don't think I'll be needing a larger bottle of it, as I have a bottle of Morocco, and I find the two similar, but Bastet is lovely nonetheless.

    Thirteen (13)

This is a review of the '05 version - I haven't tried the newer. In the bottle, all I can smell is chocolate, which worried me originally, as I don't get on with chocolate very well. However, 13 behaves - it doesn't turn all plasticy like Bliss and Vice did. It turns less from plain chocolate to sweetness with some iris and a bit of citrus. I don't think I ever smelled the tea or any currant, but I really like the sweet iris and citrus.

    Jacob's Ladder

This is probably one of my top 5 scents. It's mostly amber on me, but not as strong or as heavy as some of the other "resin" scents can turn on my skin. I can't really smell any of the other components (well, maybe a little tonka), just lovley light amber. I love resin scents, but I dislike really heavy scents, so Jacob's Ladder is a perfect compromise.

    Leanan Sidhe

Wet and in the vial, Leanan Sidhe smells vaugely like dryer sheets or fabric softener, or somthing laundry related. Didn't really pique my interest, but for the sake of science ( ) I tried it on. On my skin, it turns into a nice, if not very exciting floral. I can't pick out any notes, but it smells similar to something else I've smelled (though not laundry products). I can't quite put my finger on it. Anyway, Leanan Sidhe isn't really my style, so I think I may pass it along to someone else. Overall - nice, but not me. Edit - Ahah! I've got it. The florals in Leanan Sidhe smell similar to the florals in Chaste Moon, just without the sweet, creamy goodness.

    Red Devil

I didn't review this one? Strange, as it's one of my favorites! It's mostly orange and spices to me, and some musk (not dark musk though). A little bit sweet, but not too much. And even though it's supposed to be a bland which "Inspires sexual spontaneity, a little bit of kinkiness, and new and inventive ways to get dirty," I tend to wear it as an every day sort of perfume.

    Alice

Light - honey/milk/bergamont on me. Slightly spicy, from the carnation I assume, though I can't really pick out any floral notes. Not entirely what I was expecting (I was thinking something more like Chaste Moon, with more florals), but very, very nice indeed. I'm amazed that the rose isn't overpowering everything else, as rose tends to do on my skin. Wet, Alice smells almost exactly like Earl Grey tea with milk, though as it dries, the tea aspect fades. I think layered with Dorian, this would be amazing! I'm glad I listened to all the rave reviews and skipped the imp - I have the distinct feeling that Alice is going to dissappear quite rapidly as I slather it on all summer. Preferably while wearing pink and/or ruffles.

    Eidolon

Mmmm ... mostly lemon verbena (any maybe some bergamont), with very little of the woody notes I could smell in the vial. Smells almost like citronella candles (a scent which I'm very fond of, for some strange reason). Has a similar vibe to Embalming Fluid, though they really smell nothing alike - but they'll both be nice to wear once the weather becomes sweltering. Light and refreshing.

    Blood

Surprisingly, Blood reminds me alot of Kabuki - but I can wear Blood without getting raised welts, unlike Kabuki. I mostly smell cherries, with some spice - cloves, maybe, or cinnamon. Something darker underneath, though I'm not sure what. Anyway, Blood is a keeper - I really enjoyed Kabuki, but not the welts. Blood smells close enough that it's a good replacement (though no anise, which I liked). Yummy.

    Dorian

Yum. Mostly vanilla/tea, but with a touch of something masculine (which I can only smell somtimes, and isn't that overpowering). Fairly light, but lasts well. Dorian is my "default" perfume - it's what I put on when I either can't decide what to wear, or don't have time to try and decide what to wear. I may need a bottle of this one.

    Chaste Moon 2005

When this was up for sale on the site, I decided that I wouldn't use enough to justify a bottle, but I did manage to snag a decant to try. It makes me wish I had bought a bottle. In the imp, it's very butterscotch-y, which is not what I was expecting at all. Luckily, that fades to a lovely sweet creamy/vanilla/floral scent, which rather reminds me of Antique Lace, but less vanilla-y. It's very light and unobtrusive, but unfortunatly, fades rather quickly - I really have to slather it on. I would like a bottle of this, so I'm going to have to scour the swaps to find one.

    Aeval

In the bottle, I can smell a touch of sage, but mostly sweet pea with a bit of sweetness. On my skin, Aeval smells nearly identical to the imp of Single Note Sweet Pea I have, though not quite as floral (if that makes any sense). The single note is very very potent, and Aeval is the toned down version of it. After a few hours, it sweetens up a little, from the tonka, I imagine. Very, very nice. I'm glad I splurged on a bigger bottle without trying it first, as this smells perfect on me.

    Formula 54

For the first while on my skin, Formula 54 is lovely - sweet, little alcholic, not too floral. But then it dries down, and all I can smell is rose and smoke. My skin tends to amp up roses in anything, and F54 is no exception. It's a shame - I'd love it if the rose weren't so prominant on me. I'm still glad I got to try this one, but it seems I just can't wear it. Darn.
  16. Okay, this thread is a month old, but I feel the need to bump it. It seems that Sybaris has the "pouncing" reaction from the boyfriend. I've worn it a few times around him, and those day are inveitably the times when he insists on taking me home from school (which inveitably gets drawn out into much more than just just him driving me home). Even the days when he says he's got too much homework or something and can't do anything after school is done, Sybaris tends to sway him (like today...). Queen does it too, but Sybaris seems to get a much stronger reaction.

    Ylang Ylang

Very exotic floral. I bit stronger than I like, but not too bad. It's a bit much for me to wear on it's own, but layered with other things it's quite nice. It reminds me a lot of La Petite Mort, in which ylang ylang is about the only thing I can smell in the bottle.

    Sweet Pea

Sweet pea is lovely and floral, slightly aquatic, and fairly light. It's nice enough to wear on it's own, even though I'm not a big fan of florals by themselves usually.

    Honey

The single note honey is quite similar to O, but sweeter and less resious (which makes sense, as there is no amber). Unfortunatly, it gets a slightly plastic-y undertone by itself on my skin. However, if I mix the honey with other things, I can't smell it, so it's okay.

    Coconut

I adore coconut. I love the blends with coconut, but wasn't thinking when I placed my oder around Christmas, and didn't order any of the single note. I was lucky enought to get my hands on an imp, and I'm very glad I did. It's lovely and creamy, and luckily, doesn't turn to suntan lotion on my skin. Yum.

    Egyptian Amber

Lovely and warm - perfect for layering with just about everything. Very long lasting, and nice to add a base to lots of other scents.

    Shanghai

Like oatmealneko and malanna, I find this one very similar to Embalming Fluid, but with a touch of floral. It's very lovely and light, but doesn't last very long. I'm not sure whether I prefer this or Embalming Fluid, but they're both quite lovely.

    Intrigue

This one wasn't really on my radar - most of the notes mentioned in the description don't really work for me (fig and cocoa), so there wasn't much use in my ordering some. However, the lab was nice enough to include an imp in my last order, so I had to try it. As I feared, my skin makes the fig predominant, with a background of woody cocoa. Eventually, the fig calms down a little, but by then, the cocoa has turned slightly plasticy (as my skin tend to do to chocolate). Anyway, I think this would be a nice perfume on someone else, but I don't really care for it at all.

    Samhain

Samhain, on my skin, is mostly smoky autumn air with a bit of apple thrown in for good measure. The first time I tried it, I really didn't like it, and considered swapping it without trying it again. I did try it again, and it's really grown on me. In fact, it's the LE I wear most, because it's so darn addicting and because I need my fall fix (as we get about 3 days of "fall" here in Saskatchewan).

    Red Moon 2004

I think Red Moon may be the only blend with dragon's blood that I can wear. I can smell amber and herbs mostly, and some mystery florals. It's very pretty, and very "red". It's a shame I can't really describe it better than this because I'm not really giving it the credit it deserves.
