    Gingerbread Poppet

I was sent an imp of this by the delightful Cats I smell spices, yes-- but instead of making me think of gingerbread, this scent is strong tea with milk, and the mixed fruit loaf my Nana used to bake. in fact, every time I sniff my wrists, I am surrounded by memories of my Nana, and all the wonderful and comforting things I associate with her. this is absolutely beautiful, and I anticipate it finding a place beside Dragon's Milk as a comfort scent for me.

    Ice Queen

I was sent a decanted imp of this from girl-zone broker-- she'd said to me she felt that this scent wanted to be mine, and she didn't know why. I'm so glad she felt like she did, because she was so very, very right. so, a review-- in the form of an excerpt from the email I just sent her to say thank you: oh, Ice Queen. I want to cry, I love it so much. it's so beautiful....minty and cold and creamy all at the same time, and there are flowers in there somewhere, too-- pure white and glittering and if you touch them, they shatter into a thousand pieces. I can't stop sniffing myself. this is sheer magic, and I definitely need to get my hands on some more

    Mata Hari

in the bottle, it smells like...a memory, half-recalled. very 'female'-- not feminine, but the smell of a woman, lush, bewitching. very intriguing. I had the imp sitting on the bathroom counter as I showered, and I swear I could smell it in the air-- a deep, creamy vanilla smell. very, very nice. first impressions when I apply it-- um. it smells like urine. I'm mildly horrified, to say the least-- I've just slathered something that smells like pee all over my wrist and in my cleavage. dude. !!!! thankfully, that smell fades pretty quickly, and I think it was maybe just an initial burst of jasmine. very pungent, and somewhat overwhelming. underneath it, I can smell vanilla and....coffee! ashfkjdhasfkjhas. oh, the glee-- you have no idea. I can't smell any trace of roses whatsoever, strangely enough, but maybe they'll come out later. I can still smell the jasmine, but it's a lot more subdued. the vanilla/coffee blend is now at the forefront, and there's another scent at the edge, too. I'm guessing it might be either the tonka bean, or perhaps the fig, but I'm not familiar enough with either of those scents to say for sure. it's just enough to keep the scent interesting every time I catch a drift of it. now, almost two hours later, it's settled into a lovely jasmine/coffee/vanilla blend. warm, creamy, a little spicy, and very, very nice. I smell like coffee-- how perfect is that? I like this one a lot.

    The Caterpillar

my first ever review! freshly applied, and like it says in the description, this smells very incense-y. like, very heavy incense-y, which is the kind of smell I really like. I'd liken it to sandalwood, except perusing the list of ingredients, I see that sandalwood isn't even in it, so, um. ahahaha. um, okay. possibly it's the patchouli then, but not the same patchouli as I smelled in Depraved, because it's not as 'earthy' smelling. half an hour later, and it's still very incense-y, but not quite as heavy, and I can detect the floral notes-- the carnation especially, which is nice and spicy. I can't really pick out the jasmine in this one, which is unusual, because that was one of the first things I noticed when I tried Mata Hari-- unless that wasn't the jasmine I was smelling. which, um, is entirely possible, because I'm still new at this. if this scent had a colour, it'd be deep, rich red, threaded through with shimmers of violet. very, very nice.
