    To Autumn

In the bottle: A nutty kind of apple smell. There's a little bit of bark/wood smell underneath it too. Wet: It's a little hard to pick out the different scents, it's blended nicely together. The apple becomes more of an undercurrent, and there's a bit of an aquatic scent, which I guess is the mist. The warm nutty/bark scents come to the forefront with a little dry leaves added in. It's a very earthy smell and the aquatic hasn't gone off on me yet like they have a tendency to do. Dry: Dry leaves is now definitely the strongest scent. Underneath is a nice apple cider. Verdict: Definitely an autumn scent! Very nice blend and a nice scent, though not much of a throw. Definitely keeping. 4/5

    The Shattered Pumpkin

In the bottle: Ew, I'm not sure what the heck's going on in the bottle, but it's really not pleasant. It's a lot of leather, I know that. Wet: Took me three times to work up the nerve to try it on, but it's so much better. Whew. On, it's black dirt and little bit of pumpkin spice, though not very much considering the name. ...My mother just walked passed and made a face at the smell, so. Somehow I don't think it's gonna be a keeper. Dry: Aaaaand here's the leather and...something scent again. Something kinda salty, maybe the water weeds. Thankfully *not* the ACK NO smell from the bottle though, so that's something. It's making my nose itch. Verdict: Wow this is *so* not what I expected from this scent. Maybe it's just my skin amping the leather... But yeah, no, definitely not going to be wearing this again. I'll guess I'll keep looking for a pumpkin scent for me. 1/5

    John Barleycorn

Barley, beer, blood, and whiskey. In the bottle: Okay, I'm getting the beer, but also something sorta...cherry? Or caramel? I'm not sure. I'm not getting an exact scent with it. Pleasant but nothing exciting. Wet: Barley. And a little bit of beer, I think, but combined it's a kinda musky smell. Dry: Barley and beer, with a little tang of blood. Gets kinda powdery after a while. Verdict: Decent smell, definitely does what it says on the tin. Not exactly my thing, though. I think it's maybe a little too masculine for me. 3/5

    Fearful Pleasure

In the bottle: You know that part that says, "Dried orange peels floating in simmering cider?" Yeah, shockingly, this is orange peels in apple cider. Wet: Added to the apple cider is a smokey, woody smell in the background. It's warm and lovely and if it continues when dry I'm so getting more. Dry: The smoke's died down a bit, but it's still perfect apple cider. Verdict: So glad this turned out to be a good apple on me and not the icky fruit punch certain scents turn. This is just a perfect autumn scent. And! A perfect match for the description. I feel just like I'm curled up in front of a fire, drinking some warm apple cider. Definite bottle! 5/5

    A Blade of Grass

In the bottle: Fresh cut grass. Wet: Mmm and now it's fresh green grass with a bit of dry leaves behind it. Still, reminds me more of summertime than autumn at the moment. Reminds me a lot of Squirting Cucumber. Dry: Pretty much the same as wet. Verdict: It's a very nice scent and thankfully doesn't turn soapy on me. I don't think I'll get a bottle of it though since it's really too close to Squirting Cucumber on me to make much of a difference. But still, a very very nice green scent, crisp and clean and does just what it says on the tin. 4/5

    Huesos De Santo

In the bottle: HELLO ORANGE! Okay, after the initial POW! ORANGE! it's a nice yummy orange creamsicle. Wet: On my skin, the orange smell warms to a custardy orange cake. WIth poppyseeds. Not the OMG CAKE smell of Eat Me, it's more subtle. I don't smell any flowers, which was the part I was afraid would ruin it. Dry: There's a licorice smell that comes out as it dries, which I'm guessing is the anise? But not an icky licorice smell (I can't stand black licorice taste or smell, but this is nice.) The cake is still there, the orange smell seems to be gone, though. Still no flowers. 30 min later: The licorice has died done a little and the cake is stronger again. Much better! The orange is still gone though. Verdict: Have a decant, not sure if I'm going to be getting a bottle. I love the orange cake smell when wet, but I'm not sure on the dry. It's a nice smell, but I'd rather it stay orange cake, personally. Definitely keeping what I have though. 4/5

    Drink Me

In the bottle: WOW. Okay, that was strong! I'm getting butterscotch toffee the most. Or the buttered toast. Or some sort of cherry pastry. Gah. Maybe the warning to not actually drink is a good idea. *sniffs some more* If nothing else, this is my hands-down favorite in-the-bottle. Okay, must stop and move on to actually wearing it. Wet: Mmm, and there's the pineapple. Pineapple and buttered toast, which is an...interesting combination. Mmm and some buttered popcorn. (My mother, on the other hand, thinks it just smells like vanilla. *shrugs*) Dry: Not to be repetitive, but mmmm. The pineapple is gone, but the buttered toast is still there, with a butterscotch/caramel/booze/creamy scent under it. I feel like baking something. Or continuously sniffing my wrist. Verdict: Total love for this. No wonder Alice drunk it. A little more complex in the bottle, maybe, but just as good on my skin. Non-foody people will want to stay far far away, but a must have for me. 5/5

    Squirting Cucumber

This will so not be a helpful review. If the first fifty or so reviews of "it's cucumber!" didn't help you, this certainly won't do the trick! In the bottle: Shock! It smells like cucumber! Who would've thought?! Wet: Still with the cucumber, but there's a little bit of a green/grassy-ness in there. Dry: Now it's a nice blend of cucumber and grass clippings. Verdict: I really really wanted this imp and I'm so glad it turned out to be exactly what I thought. Cool and refreshing and very nice. Love it! 5/5

    Chimera

In the bottle: Dead ringer for chai tea. Wet: Very spicy, more spicy than in the bottle in the first few minutes - it's strong red-hots. But then it calms down to a sorta-creamy cinnamon. Dry: Same sorta-creamy cinnamon. Verdict: Expected to like this more than I did. Don't get me wrong, I like it well enough, but there's other cinnamon scents I like a whole lot more and I don't see myself reaching for this over them. I do like it in the bottle, though, so maybe it'll go in a locket. 3/5

    Hymn to Proserpine

In the bottle: Warm amber and berries/pomegranate without either overpowering the other. Wet: Same as in the bottle, really. The fruit smell is definitely more on the wine side than the fruit punch Shango turned into on me. Dry: (A little smokey) pomegranate wine. Verdict: Love it. Barely changes from bottle to dry, but it doesn't matter as it's sensual and lovely and a little dark. Perfect interpretation of the poem. So getting more. 5/5

    Mary Read

In the Bottle: A big whiff of sea air. Wet: Dangerously close to soapy, but there's the leather scent and the sea air comes back in after a minute. As it dries, I think that's the gunpowder that's making that sharp tinge. As it dries: I know there's no wood note, and yet I can smell a bit of that. The leather and sea air keep switching places - one minute the leather is overtaking the sea air, the next all I'm getting is sea air. Yet to smell any rum. Dry: Um...where did it go? I get, maybe, sharper than usual laundry detergent if I put my nose to my wrist, but that's it. All the lovely pirate ship smells are gone. Sigh. Verdict: If it had lasted, I totally would've kept. Unfortunately, this is a no-go. 2/5

    Dana O'Shee

In the bottle: Almond/cherries. Wet: The almond/cherry dies down a LOT. Unfortunately it means that the scent gets a whole lot lighter too. Anyways, I get a lot of grain and milk now. A warm cereal/oatmeal-y scent. Dry: The cherry is creeping back in a bit but nowhere near as strong as it started out. Just a hint under the oatmeal scent. Verdict: Not as strong as would like, but it's very nice and warm and comfort-y. Reminds me of Sudha Segara without that hint of whatever it is that tends to give me a little bit of a headache. Definite keep. 4/5

    Pickled Imp

In the bottle: Wow, that was not the scent I was expecting out of that. Which is not to say bad! It's actually very yummy and good! Very creamy foody but there's a sharp in there too, which I guess is the pine. If nothing else, I'll be keeping this for a scent locket. Wet: Well HI THERE CINNAMON. Ok, after that calms down in a few minutes, the pine/clove is underneath making a very interesting spicy-er gingerbread cookie-ish smell without being too much OMG CHRISTMAS. Dry: *licks wrist* Yummy yummy chai tea. Verdict: Well if that didn't convince me I'm a foody, nothing will. Buying a bottle or two right now and, if this is close to what Gingerbread Poppet smells like, I'm totally picking up a bottle next time as well. 5/5

    Priala, the Human Phoenix (2006)

Bottle: Wood smoke with with a little myrrh/cinamon underneath. Wet: The myrrh is stronger than the smoke now but with an almost foody smell. Dry-down: At first try, I though that Priala and Phantom Calliope were way too similar to bother getting both. But where PC is more cherry/red hots, Priala is smokier/darker. Like a grown-up version of PC. Verdict: Definitely keeping the decant. Need to think quickly and compare before I decide if I'm getting the bottle. 4/5

    Kataniya, the Clockwork Woman

In the bottle: Sharp and metal. A little ozone-y. Wet: Tania had described it as "cold, static before the storm sort of scent" and that's what I'm getting. A little flowery under it, but mostly a "it's going to rain soon" smell. Wet smells like that have been turning dryer sheet on me so *crosses fingers* Dry down: There's a little dryer sheet smell happening every once in a while that worries me me, but the storm comes through to do away with it. There's a warmness to it now, though, instead of the cold when it was wet. Verdict: Ends up a little more flowery and a little less metallic than I was looking for. I don't like it enough to get a bottle, but I think I'll keep the imp. 3/5

    Mr. Nancy

Bottle: Oh ew. This is absolutely disgusting in the bottle. I'm almost afraid to try it. D: Wet: Thank God, the disgusting smell goes away immediately. Now I'm getting a lot of sugar cookies, with some smoke and rum. I'm not *completely* getting the butterscotch smell a lot of people seem to be getting, but it's a very close thing. Dry: Oooh, I'm getting a bit of the "butterscotch" a lot of people seem to be getting, but with something a little... sharper? Maybe that's the lime. Verdict: Haven't decided if I'll keep him around, but definitely won't kick him out of bed just yet. ?/5

    The Unicorn

Bottle: It doesn't exactly smell *like* honeysuckle, but it reminds me of it. Sweet. Wet: Something yellow, very light kind of laundry/flowery smell. Dry: Clean and citrus, without the lemon pledge scent I got from dormouse. Clean linen without screaming dryer sheets. This isn't the Looking Glass unicorn as much as it's the Legend unicorn, standing in the stream in the middle of the woods. Very very light. I love this one. This is my perfume for feeling feminine or light or wearing a lot of white, that kind of thing. 5/5

    Poisoned Apple

Bottle: Red apples, but with something herbal. Or maybe more green apple. Wet: Mmm a big juicy red apple. While drying, something smoky covers the apples. Dry: Very appropriately named scent. Up close, I get a cider scent, something that reminds me of Halloween. The pure apple scent's gone. But from a distant, I get occasionally surprised by a bit of more candy/red apple wafting up. A more innocent scent. Verdict: When the smoky-ness covered the apples, I was afraid I wouldn't like the scent in the end. But once completely dry, I like being surprised by the scent. It's not as "dark" on me as I expected. Love it! Definitely getting more! 5/5

    Mouse's Long and Sad Tale

So far I've liked the lab's amber and loved their vanilla, so I can only guess that it's the combination of the two, or the sweet pea or sandalwood that's making this just smell like faint baby powder on me. Nice baby powder, sure. But still powder. 1/5

    Shango

So disappointed! I really hoped this one would work, but it's an odd combination of fruit punch and potpourri on me, all the way through. Alas, just ended up making me sneeze. 1/5

    Bliss

Does what it says on the tin. Pure chocolate, from bottle to dry! Yum yum yum. 5/5

    Oneiroi

Put this on before bed, not really expecting it to do much of anything. The scent itself is a sort of citrus-y lavender when I put it on, not anything I'd particular wear normally. But I have to say, it did make me very relaxed and I did fall asleep very quickly! As far as dreams go, I think I might've gotten the god of dreams' clerk, because I had the oddest dream about filing dreams by subject. *g* Interesting, I'll have to try again! (Scent alone: 2/5, Results: 5/5)

    The Phantom Calliope

Just got a frimp decant of this off the forum and had to try it on ASAP. In the bottle: WOW dark cherries! No need to even think of what smells like, just totally dark cherries. Yum. On, wet: Cherry cola. Well. Cherry cola, but with something a little spicier. As it dries: The spicyness has really grown. The smell reminds me of those red hot candies, but it a good way if that makes sense. Later: Still red hots, but calmed down some and not as sharp. Nothing has really brought to mind the calliope, personally, but is lovely. Thank God I haven't had the burning problem some people seem to have because I would be SO disappointed if I couldn't wear this lovely scent. Definitely buying a bottle or two before it disappears! 5/5

    The Lion

Bottle: Very warm smell. Spicy, like cinnamon with something else with it. Wet: Oh! Yeah, that's cinnamon! Yum. I smell like a cinnamon candle. (That's a good thing.) Dry: Mmm. Less specifically cinnamon, but spicy and very warm. A sleepy kind of warmth, like I want to curl up in blankets. Definitely Looking Glass lion versus, say, Aslan, but there's some of him in there too. I imagine having a very nice sleep if I put this on right before. Decent throw that fades after a bit. Later: The scent definitely fades fairly quickly, but it's not completely gone. There's a tiny bit of sweet in there now, but still warm spice. Verdict: Definitely liking. Would've been better if it hadn't faded so fast, but given the very strong scent in the beginning, it's probably a good thing. Definitely keeping. 5/5

    The Dormouse

Bottle: Very sharp. Herbal. Very... medicine smelling. Not pleasant. Wet: Lemon. Very very light. Much better than in the bottle, but unfortunate lemon pledge smell. Dry: A little less lemon pledge and a little more green tea. Still very very light. Hardly any throw at all. I had to practically put my nose on my wrist to smell anything. Later: I'm not even sure it's still there, an hour later. Verdict: Meh. It's not bad, but it does nothing for me and is way too light and fades too quickly. Likely won't be keeping. 2/5
