    Jailbait

Oh wow.. If I could BAITH in a scent, I believe it would be Jailbait... I have always loved bubblegum and cotton candy. This is THE ultimate bubblegum scent. Placeing it on, it definatly screams bubblegum; mental images are a gigantic pink bubble being blown and the very fresh piece of bubble gum in your mouth, just after you have put it in and chewed it enough to be soft yet still powerfully flavorful. As it lasts on my skin it holds bubblegum as the main scent, there's soemthing else underneath too- something giving strength. I'm getting such the bad school girl image from it. Short skirt sneaking out behind the bowling alley to get laid type thing.... (Think scene from Stephen King writing as Richard Bachman in the story Rage when the girl whose name I have forgotton retells her sexual experiences to the other hostages) Jailbait simmers down after a while to a pleasnt sweet cotton candy scent with some sort of little spice snap behind it (very subtile). I wore it to visits at the prison today when I saw my mate. He liked it, but didn't see quite as much humor in me wearing it to visits as I did... He tends to like sweet scents as well. So: Beth- Can the lab make Jailbait flavored soda? I'd buy it by the CASE! (I do know about blue bubblegum by Jones soda... but I want PINK bubble gum just as this smells in soda form!!!!!) I MUST purchase a 5ml, heck, with the way I'd love to baith in this I would NOT be adverse to a 10ml. Definatly one of my faves.

    Three Witches

Wow!!! What a great find! The sharp pepper predominates my imp... I was a little worried I'd smell funny with it on, but decided what the hey! The spicey pepper scent died down on my wrist, leading to a lovely clove linger. Cinnamoney spice is the next note to stick out on my skin. What a nice warm oil! The cinnamon stayed most of the day, by now (aprox 12 hours later) it has turned to a nice spicy sweet scent. Sort of like a fireball but not so fake candy-ish. I highly reccommend this one!

    Pronouncing "BPAL" and scent names!

Kinda funny thing is that I've heard it both ways from differnt pagan friends of mine. Most people have NO idea what I'm saying if I pronounce it Sowwen or Sown tho. *shrug* Not like I really talk to many people around here reguarding my holidays tho.

    Lughnasadh

I'm SO glad I have this one! Worth every hard earned penny! Gorgeously sweet, like cooking, almonds and vanilla predominate the scent as it's wet. As I wear it I can smell all sorts of other bakeing goodness appear- berries, cinnamon, cherries... Oh what a happy scent! Every time it switches to another note (berries to cherries to almond to vanilla to just cooking desserts in general) it's a new wonder! This is one of those bottles I would seriously DIE if I lost! Another I'd LOVE to drink. Why can't anything taste as good as BPAL smells!?

    Hunter Moon 2004

My VERY first BPAL oil ever tried! From this moment forth I was hooked. I read the description of Hunter Moon, and NEEDED to buy it. Not wanted, but NEEDED. (I'm sort of a huntriss type and it just sounded so much like me...) Sweet scented in the bottle, I think the wine is mostly what I catch, occationally I catch a note of woodsmoke too.. Worn it brings out a scent of spiced apple cider, woodstoves, and fall weather. I compair it to the open house days at little country gift shops when they serve the spiced cider and cookies. It's not strong enough to make me reek of potpourie, but strong enough to be pleasent and fall spicey. I do like it! I loved it enough to end up with two bottles. Then again, I won't mind it being a signature scent, since I am a fall weather person and LOVE the spices. I don't really notice the animalistic tones in this. Maybe they just blend in, or didn't feel like peeking at me in the couple times I've worn it so far. I also like its staying power. All day without having to slather!

    Frost Moon

The chill, crystal-bright Full Moon that is harbinger to the death of the year, and a monument to the snowy, dead months to come. A blend of traditional lunar oils frozen with winter mints, shivering eucalyptus, clear lotus, a gust of wind, and a midnight aquatic note. I ended up trying and wearing this on New Year's Eve. Cold night (well by 2 AM) and cold scent! I love the mint tones, as they smell just like self dried spearment from my garden. =) Wet it's sharper, and beyond the spearment it smells, just COLD. Like a night in NH when there's been a foot of snow on the ground for quite some time, and it's just purely frigid outside. Deep snow with a thick crunchy crust. Kind of how I pictured the outside to smell from the book Owl Moon As I wear it, the cold smell recedes a bit, still lightly present, but not overpowering. Thus the mint is allowed to come out and play- ending up smelling like a cold night in front of the fire with a cup of Mint Tea in hand. If you don't like mint, I'd say stay away from it, as that's the predominant note for me. True love of a scent in a bottle. I really love the lunar blends. For some reason they REALLY agree with me. I can't wait until my Wolf Moon comes, and I want Cold Moon to arrive so I can purchase it from someone since I missed it!!!!

    Tintagel

Ok, this I admit was a must have more due to the name than anything else. I'm such an obsessed freak with castles and whatnot... Yeah. A scent of Arthur's legondary castle, is a must have for me. SPICE! That's the first thing I smell. Not bad spice, but good spice, HARD spicey scent. Mead is hideing in that mix as well. Sweet cinnamon and other sweet scents under that too... Wearing it is wonderful. Spicey, alive! As the day goes on, the spices and first harshness wear down to berries, and sweeter mead notes. I honestly don't smell leather in this one at all. (might be due to body chem this week. Shall try again) Overall I feel bold and it reminds me of some song lyrics from the song "Heart of the Dragon" by DragonForce Proud and so glorious Standing before of us Our swords will shine bright in the sky Proud and so glorious Standing before of us Our swords will shine bright in the sky When united we come To the land of the sun With the heart of a dragon... The heart of a dragon... The heart of a dragon we ride... I'm very pleased with this imp! I can forsee a 5ml in the future!

    Hellcat

I am SO in love with this one. My mom likes it too. She said it reminds her of a perfume that was big back in the eairly - mid 60's called Tabu. Her friend wore that one alot while she wore Last Evening in Paris. It's GORGEOUS! Sweet and intrigueing. The first thing I smell is almonds! I totally am crazy over almonds. It makes me think of almond extract I love useing in cooking. Wearing it, it stays pure as in the bottle upon my wrist. Gorgeously like cooking wonderful desserts. I was reminded of makeing fruit tarts - not the fruit but the filling and the shells - with lots of vanilla and almond! I really REALLY think this one is wonderful, AND should come in a flavor. It's hard not to drink my imp. My mate even LOVED it. He licked my wrist for this one. I'll really need a 5 or 10ml!

    Rage

This one seemed like a me scent, just from the description. I tend to be the rageing Scott reguaring some things. I'm sort of stuck in a perpetual rant on certian subjects and the like... So on first sniffage from the bottle I didn't smell the spice or strength I expected. This puzzled me. Sort of sweet, with something dark and forbodeing underneath. I figured what the heck and tossed some on. On me it ate the sweet, and turned into just what I expected! RAGE! Hot, spicey maybe a touch of musk but not in a bad way. Definatly a keeper. It matches my personality well... Mayhaps a 5 ml in the future too...

    Kabuki

This was from Larajc - what a sweetie for tossing this one in! I totally didn't even have Kabuki on my list even to try an imp of. Not certian why... MAN! Sniffing the bottle made me drool. I can smell pear! And Cherry! And spices, like in spice cake! (Had to restrain myself from drinking the oil, and just put some on my wrists ) The fruits and berries in this one make me just want to go crazy using it as a room scent! I tried it on (worried it wouldn't work since I loved it so much in the bottle). The wonderious fruits and spice stayed! All Day! I got quite a few complaments at work on my perfume too. It sort of changed to mostly cherries after a while, and by afternoon smelled like cherry coke. Not the fake in the can kind mind you, but the REAL kind you get at the old 50's style diners with the heavy cherry syrup in the bottem of the big glass. *rapture* I think I will get at least another imp of this one, if not an entire bottle.

    Faustus

I really LOVED the description and the thoughts of the mix on this one. Definatly spicey and I could smell the frankensence. I wasn't sure about wearing it, but the other notes really temped me into putting it on at work. I'm sort of on the fence for this one. I DID smell cinnamon for a little while with it on. Yet, it really didn't last. Frankensence really took over. I'm not huge on the frankensence. So overall I'm sort of still fence sitting. Glad I only got an imp of it. I'll still give Faustus another shot to proove himself. (Mostly since I'm a huge cinnamon fan, and I also love the story of Faustus)

    Shadow

I guess the lemon notes arn't best on me. Much like Tempest this one isn't really a go for me. VERY Lemon, with slight whisps of clean outside springtime behind it. Wearing it I got soap. Not even lemon pledge. Nor even lemon soap. Just Plain soap. Not even a clean tinge behind it. *sigh* Might be the patchouli. Patchouli doesn't usually like me and does strange things with other notes on my skin 99% of the time outside of BPAL. (I guess only a few casualties of BPAL from patchouli is better than my non BPAL track record with the stuff) Even so, I'm still trying this one more time before givieng up. (more than likely it'll get swapped or sold or given away)

    Lampades

I am VERY much in love with Lampades. It smells just like an oil by Aires which was discontinued. Dragon Cloud was my signature scent from 8th grade until about 10th when the bottle emptied. My take: Lampades is very sweet with lovely berries under the allmost candy exterior. Wearing it brings out more of the undertone spice sweet on me, then turns more like cranberries!!! It's like the old Dragon Cloud but tuned up, tricked out, and far more gorgeous (plus without the slightmusk that the Aires brand had) So yeah. Once my two imps run out I am certian I shall be investing in a bottle. (maybe even a 10ml!!!)

    Tempest

I was really disappointed in this one. I sniffed it in the bottle and liked the clear and citrus-ish notes... Very excited to try it, I applied it! Then it went soapyish. I could bairly smell other notes under it. Just clean and generic soap. I wanted this one so much to work on me... The Tempest is a fave play of mine, and I love storms. *sigh* oh well. I'll try it once more and if it works the same way, it's off to swapping!

    Lightning

I dabbed some of this on before work one day. I really wanted it to work, since I am in love with the scent of a thunderstorm especially as the lightninign zigs through the sky. Smells sweet and clean in the bottle and when first applied. Sort of like a clear day mixed with a very CLEAN scent, I am not sure how exactly to describe it. Like a golden retriever who'se been running around in the yard for an entire a clear fall day with lots of wind. (not doggie, but just like the wind and entire outside CLEAN scent) That makes sense to me at least... Wearing it: The sweet scent comes out more, and stays. Unfortunatly it doesn't stay strongly. By mid day I could bairly detect Lightning on my wrist. I was sort of bummed out, since I like the way it smelled. I guess I either must slather it on, and refresh it every few hours or just deal. I did like it while it lasted.

    Highwayman

This one I got a 5ml of without trying first. The description sounded SO wonderful, and I really like masculine scents as a room refresher or just a dab on a pillow to sleep next to. (But use is another topic) Sniffing the bottle: WOAH strong! Very piney and woodsie scented. I like that. Tickeled my nose with the smokey notes too. Definatly I can tell it has aftershave scent properties and behaves like a very bad charactor. =) Wet on my wrist: Still strong, the smoke notes come out more, but I still can detect the aftershave and outside. Worn for a while: Doesn't change much from the wet reaction. I do like it, but after a while it can get sort of overpowering. That old slogan "A little Dab will Do ya" is very true here. I'm pleased I baught this one. It's nice for that "Need the scent of a Man" moment, diffuseing around the apt, or on the pillows. I can't wait to try it on my mate too. It's a little freaky scented in a way: Like a dark stranger in a cloak walking along a wooded path at night while smokeing a hand rolled cigerette. Sort of made me think of Stephen King's charactor from The Dark Tower Series, Roland. (of course that made it all the more appealing and I now must re read all of the DT series while sniffing Highway Man) =) Good stuff, but will last me a LONG time in the 5ml.

    Follow Me Boy

Ok, I'm finally getting out of lazy mode and getting a bunch of reviews up. Today I decided to take the plunge and try out Follow Me Boy From the description, I was just dying to try it, thanks to recieving it as a freebie from quantumspice. In the bottle it seemed sweetish, but tinged with something that made my nose tingle a little, and some muskish type scent. I wasn't too sure about it on me, since musks generally make me reek like the dirty little wolf I am during mateing season. Trying it on: Started mostly spicey, but dried out nicely, to a slight spice scent on my wrist. Later on (hour and a halfish) it went to more of a sweet cotton candy type scent. Not too sweet, but nice to me. I swair I had tinges of the dreaded baby powder for a moment in between the switch; however it did not stay longer than maybe a minute and a half. YAY! Now (4-6 hours later) it's smoothed out from the cotton candy scent to a nice mellow spice that is sort of sweet. As for the attractive properties: I wore it while visiting my mate. He liked the scent, but since I only see him twice a week it's pretty normal for me to have his attention that much. He did comment he really liked the cotton candy smell, and it made him want to lick it. The rest of the guys around gave me about the average looks, tho the CO's seemed to cruse by our table a lot more frequently than ever before, so maybe it attractes the officors? Well overall I DO like it, definatly enough to keep the imp, not sure about a 5 ml yet. But I want to warn everyone (and keep in mind for myself) I am on my period this week so, I'll try again later and see if it behaves the same!

    Skadi

My first review. Wooo! I had really been dying to try this, and was luckey enough to find someone from the alchemylab LJ who went to the Black Broom for me, picked up a bottle, and mailed it to me (*hugs to Maria!!*) Thanks again!!! On first sniff from the bottle I was a little apprehensive. VERY strongly of winter bushes- my first thought were the boxwood wreiths or clippings found around XMas time as decorations, with overtones of normal evergreen. I dipped it on, and as it dried I could smell the pine disappearing into the background slowly. As pine/boxwood starts to move into the background I can smell berries lightly- not really fruity berries, but more like winterberries. That lingers a little bit as a pleasent smell- makeing me think of watering the Christmas Tree in the mornings. Sort of hard to describe, spices that make me think of the holiday start to show up now. Cinnamin, sweet pine, and something else underneath that I just can not place. When I sniff and close my eyes, all I can think of is sitting in my mom's living room and reading The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve. Really a traditional New England winter scent! I do love it! I find it has good staying power as well on my skin.

How to remove scents from your skin

Alcohol, salt, lemon.... That just sounds like one step away from a night out at the bars!!!!! (change lemon to lime!) Anyway, Question for scarlet: Doesn't rubbing deoderent on it then make you really smell strongly of said deoderent? Or when you wash it off with water, does it take the BPAL too? (editing cuz t does not = g)

How to remove scents from your skin

You know that degreaser stuff? Orange miricle? That works on STUBBERN scents. Highwayman did NOT want to come off my wrists after I applied it one night. (Just had to try it, put it on about 7:30 and wanted it off to go to bed around 9) But then you smell like an orange grove and need to use regular soap and water to get THAT off....
