  1. Right when news of this scent came out, I was preparing an exorcism spell that was comprised of these notes exactly, which was fortuitous, because now I add this oil in with said spell (am kitchen-y witch). Hot, dirty, black-peppery, anchored by the sweet, red intensity of thick dragon's blood, the spike of clove will surprise you all day.

  2. Upon first application, one is assalted with bitterest orange-- like the hard scent of a peel dotted with clove. As it softens, it becomes richly neroli, with the orange blossom sweetening it all up until it is an intoxicating blend of bergamot and flower. I highly, highly recommend this scent purely based on its seductiveness. For LUSHies, it is almost reminiscent of a very very grown up-Karma perfume.

  3. This is a high, windy scent-- the calla lily are papersheet white and flowery soft on the top note, but soon, the white sandalwood introduces itself by blending its smooth, arid graininess gently into the skin. There is the slight petal of rose, mixed with the resinous, church-y quality of the frankincense. Upon drydown, the scent is almost completely smooth-- feathery, flowery, lovely, and holy. Possesses the same sacred quality as Hymn, but is its floral cousin.

  4. A paean to true holiness, spiritual purity, and sacred enlightenment. Based on an incense blend sacred to the Virgin Mary: perfect rose absolute and Palestinian Lily of the Valley with olibanum, labdanum, frankincense and myrrh.

This is wise, peaceful, clearing scent. Wet, one can smell the clear brightness of pure rose and lily of the valley. When it blends with the skin, the notes of frankincense and myrrh are predominant-- resinous, slighty astringent, and piney. This smells like a fluid you would use to annoint a sachristy, or the feet of a statue-- ancient-seeming and chapel-appropriate. Experiencing this scent on the skin would be even lovelier on a slightly damp, slighty warm spring day, I think.

  5. This scent made me hilariously go out and actually BUY a pint of dark chocolate ice cream because I couldn't stand smelling like something so delicious and not having it in my mouth. So, yeah, this scent surely does induce actual, real gluttony and will be the reason I become fat. When first applied, it is the scent of deep, thick, dark chocolate, drenched in caramel. The middle notes show the slight dry nuttiness of hazelnut. Upon drydown, the scent is a softer vanilla-chocolate and decidedly toffee-nosed. Mouth-watering and distractingly delicious.

  6. Based on a Romany incense blend reputed to induce sexual dreams: Somalian rose, Moroccan rose and Bulgar rose with a sultry dribble of cinnamon.

Out of the vial, Harlot smells like a soaking wet rose, just as it starts to go past bloom. Applied, is the very scent of a drenched, water-logged roseblossom, set to rot on dark, rain-wettened earth. As it dries, the rose has been crushed underfoot and ground into the soil-- a heady, rotting scent of exotic roses, mixed with deepest wet, almost acrid soil. This fragrance is slightly reminiscent for me of Zombi-- however, whereas Zombi is wistful and the rose is dry and full of remembrance, this rose is dirty-- another evocative, absolutely amazing rose scent, Elizabeth.

  7. Soft, round, and fleshy apricot blended with a hidden sweet clove bud produces the effect of sticking your nose in a jar of spiced jam. On drydown, the fruit mellows, and the clove remains-- lending a sweet spiciness to the skin and the pale shadow of apricot.

  8. Elizabeth!! You're totally not supposed to come here and read all this stuff. Besides, I think much of what you're reading in the line of "OH NO MY STUFF HASN'T COME YET!!" is probably well-intentioned impatience. Don't THINK about this stuff until you get back, until you and Ted are all better, etc. It MAY be a good idea to close down shop for a bit when you get back so that you don't feel so completely overwhelmed, and so you can clear house. In any case, I and my buddy Bo got our packages and they're wonderful, wonderful.

*kisses* and PLEASE go get lap dances until you are left limp and breathless and the stress is completely eradicated, at least for the moment.

  9. Lily of the Valley, Calla Lily, stephanotis and a drop of cherry.

The Queen of Hearts, when first sniffed out of the bottle is a bold, haughty red floral scent. To me, the calla lily and lily of the valley produce an almost aggressive, yet clean floral-- one that is weighty and anchored, and red-seeming. On, it tames down quite a bit to a wisp of a flower, with a powdery cherry behind it. It disappeared quite quickly on me, and I sort of longed for the boldness of the top-note flowers.

  10. Curiouser and curiouser. Milk and honey with rose, carnation and bergamot.

Alice is the very scent of blonde-haired, blue-bowed insouciance , with the scent of sugary pink frosting, roses, and milk. The carnation adds a spike to it all, and a soft powderiness that renders it ultimately innocent and mild. Lovely, girlie, and slightly mischievous.

    EDIT: Added Lab's description. --Shollin

  11. LOVE this scent. When you first open the bottle and sniff, there is a languid, strong scent of sweetest clover-blossom honey. On the skin, it is light and delicate, with the vanilla and amber adding a warmth to the honey that makes it like treacle-y syrup. It is a scent that could best be appreciated wrapped around somebody in bed, yes...

  12. I thought it smelled like dark red rose and deep purple juicy concord grape when I put it on, but reading the notes later, it is mandarin and fig. The fig possesses a raisin-y plump juiciness to it, and when combined with the mandarin, Carnal is really quite mouth-watering.
