  1. Looking at the inredients for this oil, I never would have purchased it. I definitely don't like grapefruit in taste or smell, plums are ok but not something I would pick as a scent, and I have no idea what orris or black amber are like at all. That being said, I received this as a freebie and when I put it on this morning I had no idea what was in it but thought it was intriguing enough to give it a try.

I don't get a firm impression of this when sniffing it in the vial but I definitely do not smell any grapefruit. On dry-down it is a soft powdery scent with the sharp sweetness of plum piercing through a muted insence note. It's different and quite lovely. I can still catch wiffs of it on my wrists hours later. I'm not sure if I would buy a bottle of this but I may keep an imp on hand.

  2. First impression of this - very sweet, somewhat floral but for some reason it smells like pears to me. Really sweet, sticky pears. When first applied, the scent doesn't change much and I'm not sure I like smelling like pears. Three hours later I can't detect any of the scent on left my wrists and the other places I've dabbed the oil now remind me of apple juice :P Not for me I think ::adds to swap pile::

  3. I've had luck with Kali, Velvet, Cathedral, O, Regan, Queen Mab, Tisiphone, and Blood Rose. They all last at least ten hours on me if not longer but chemistry is an odd thing and some scents that I was sure would stick (like old Venice) didn't so I think it's mostly a thing of trial and error.

  4. This smells of incense, a smokey floral that's neither girly nor sweet but dark and mysterious. It makes me think of shadowy corners and and flickering firelight. I'm surpised at how much I like this as I don't really care for patchouli but it works really well in this scent and it's even better once applied. This is one of the few oils that I can still smell on my wrist hours later. I just may have to purchase a bigger bottle.

  5. "sinister and black-hearted core" is right. This oil turned positively foul on me. It was an extra in one of my orders and something I probably wouldn't have thought to try. In the vial it smells woodsy but not so much cedar and defintely nothing floral that I can detect. When I first put it on it retains that woody quality but starts to darken and after about an hour it turns so evil that I have to wash it off. This is the first time I've had such a reaction so I'm not sure which element doesn't agree with my skin - I'm thinking it's the cedar. At any rate, this will go into my swap pile.

  6. This was one of the first imps that I purchased but it took me a long time to want to give it a try. When I first sniffed it I was suprised at how sweet it was, way sweeter than I had expected based on the description. Every once and a while, I would take it out and sniff it again but was never quite in the mood until today. When I first put it on, the sweetness was still there but a little more mellow than when in the vial. Upon drying, the vanilla starts to blend with the violets and develops into a nice soft floral, very girly, very feminine. The scent is almost as strong as it was when I applied it this morning so it has good staying power. I will defeintely make a note to buy a bottle of this in the future.

  7. Velvet, simply put, is delicious. It the vial it is all chocolate but doesn't come across as a food-like smell, more the essence and depth of high quality melted cocoa. When I first put it on I can smell other things but they are on the fringe and I still get the rich chocolate scent. Drydown the sandalwood mingles with the myrrh and adds a layer that compliments the chocolate very well and creates a more complex perfume that is divine. Velvet lasts for hours on me and is one of my favorites. I originally ordered an imp of this scent and, after wearing it once or twice, I had to purchase a bottle - it's just that good.

  8. I just received Kali as an extra with my order and it is quite fabulous. In the vial I smell the honey and wine and just a whiff of chocolate, It's a warm, deep, rich scent - very yummy. It retains the same impression when I first apply it but after a few hours it dries down into honey-tinged frutiness. I can't smell the chocolate any longer but I still like it. I will defintely be buying a big bottle of this :P

  9. I emailed Nella about an order I placed on 4/14 and she wrote back the next day to say that it had been processed and was supposed to have arrived last week. Still no package yet so if I don't hear anything soon, I'll send another email.

  10. that's what i did this week after my ccnow problem...i had already ordered before i saw this thread and when the order got kicked back i just reordered through paypal.

When you say your order was kicked back, did you get one of those emails from CCNow saying that your order had been cancelled? That is what happened to me and at this point, I do not want to even bother with CCNow if I can use PayPal.

  11. In the vial, this one smells exactly like maraschino cherries. On my skin it smells like...well, it's hard to say because basically I can barely smell it at all. I've put on twice what I normally use with, say, Snake Oil, and it almost literally disappeared on my skin. I've refreshed twice in about half an hour and still it's only a very faint smell. What I can detect is a sweet almond/cherry blend which, if it was stronger, might be too sweet for me.

Strangest reaction I've ever had to an essential oil perfume, especially when it did smell strongly in the vial. But man, it's gone like the wind on me!

This same thing happens to me as well! I love the scent - very light and sweet but it fades after about three hours. I will probably order a bigger bottle and use it with a heavier hand.
