    Lughnasadh

In the vial I smell cherries, not too sweet or tart, but the scent of them baked in a pie - very warm and comforting. On my skin it mellows out and other notes blend with the cherry so that it has a floral, spicy tone. It reminds me of potpourri - the good kind that doesn't make me sneeze. This would also be a wonderful room scent, perfect for the end of summer when the days are still warm but tinged with the vibrance and energy of fall. It's a beautiful scent and I will treasure my bottle until the very last drop.

    Dragon's Tears

I love Dragon's Blood but I wasn't sure about this as I haven't tried many aquatic scents. This was a freebie from the Lab so I was glad to be able to sample it before buying a bottle. This is definitely a salty scent and those notes mingle well with the Dragon's Blood, toning it down a bit. Its warm, delicious, and wet - one of the few scents that I want to lick off my arm (I love salty and sweet together ) It's a subtle scent on me, something you couldn't smell unless you were very close. I'm not quite sure what mood this fits but I'll definitely buy a big bottle to find out

    Dragon's Bone

I love this scent The Dragon's Blood oils work really well for me and this is no exception. In the vial I can smell the rich, ripe Dragon's Blood mingled with a dusty dryness. It's quite pleasant but this scent becomes absolutely beautiful once on. While Dragon's Blood is usually pretty heady on me, something - the orris or maybe sandalwood - prevents that and it almost becomes a delicate floral. It's almost like a faded bouquet in an old house with the sunshine streaming through the windows and dust motes in the air. Beautiful

    The Hesperides

Well this will sound like most of the other reviews but here we go: First sniff is crisp, green apples - Granny Smith like Murron said. I can't believe how much this smells like fresh apples! It makes me a little hesitant to wear it since I'm not sure if I want to smell so apple-y. After a few minutes the Granny Smith scent has mellowed and it is quite nice, about fifteen minutes later I can smell something sweet like caramel. There's a bit of earthiness that grounds it so it's not too sweet. A big bottle is definitely on my list

How to make a paypal order.

I was under the impression that you couldn't pay with credit card via Paypal after reading the FAQ but after CCNow cancelled an order on me for the third tme I asked Nella if I could use Paypal and she said yes. I went back and reread the FAQ and realized I had misunderstood what it said. Now that I know I can use Papal, no more CCNow for me!

    Amsterdam

Old Amsterdam is fresh, cool, and green. I can see huge fields of tulips waving in the breeze giving off a delicate scent that lingers in the new spring air. This is so beauftiful in the vial but something just doesn't work with my chemistry. Strangely i smells almost the same when it dries but doesn't blend well on my skin. I think this will make a nice room freshener.
  7. I love Snake Oil. Never smelled Hollywood Babylon but I would recommend: Kali - deep, flowery, chocolate but not foody Velvet - rich chocolate scent but again, not foody O - sweet, heady, honey Regan (which is rapidly becoming one of my favorite scents) Eve - honey and jasmine Dana O'Shee - if you like almonds (this one kind of reminds me of Lush's Honey I Washed the Kids)

    Megaera

Looking at the inredients for this oil, I never would have purchased it. I definitely don't like grapefruit in taste or smell, plums are ok but not something I would pick as a scent, and I have no idea what orris or black amber are like at all. That being said, I received this as a freebie and when I put it on this morning I had no idea what was in it but thought it was intriguing enough to give it a try. I don't get a firm impression of this when sniffing it in the vial but I definitely do not smell any grapefruit. On dry-down it is a soft powdery scent with the sharp sweetness of plum piercing through a muted insence note. It's different and quite lovely. I can still catch wiffs of it on my wrists hours later. I'm not sure if I would buy a bottle of this but I may keep an imp on hand.

    The Unicorn

First impression of this - very sweet, somewhat floral but for some reason it smells like pears to me. Really sweet, sticky pears. When first applied, the scent doesn't change much and I'm not sure I like smelling like pears. Three hours later I can't detect any of the scent on left my wrists and the other places I've dabbed the oil now remind me of apple juice Not for me I think ::adds to swap pile::

    Recs for Longest Lasting Oils

I've had luck with Kali, Velvet, Cathedral, O, Regan, Queen Mab, Tisiphone, and Blood Rose. They all last at least ten hours on me if not longer but chemistry is an odd thing and some scents that I was sure would stick (like old Venice) didn't so I think it's mostly a thing of trial and error.

    Tisiphone

This smells of incense, a smokey floral that's neither girly nor sweet but dark and mysterious. It makes me think of shadowy corners and and flickering firelight. I'm surpised at how much I like this as I don't really care for patchouli but it works really well in this scent and it's even better once applied. This is one of the few oils that I can still smell on my wrist hours later. I just may have to purchase a bigger bottle.

    Goneril

"sinister and black-hearted core" is right. This oil turned positively foul on me. It was an extra in one of my orders and something I probably wouldn't have thought to try. In the vial it smells woodsy but not so much cedar and defintely nothing floral that I can detect. When I first put it on it retains that woody quality but starts to darken and after about an hour it turns so evil that I have to wash it off. This is the first time I've had such a reaction so I'm not sure which element doesn't agree with my skin - I'm thinking it's the cedar. At any rate, this will go into my swap pile.
  13. Oooh, the Candied Fruit line reminds me of Thierry Mugler's Angel so I will have to add Xiuhlecuhtli to my list - thanks!

    Le Serpent Qui Danse

This was one of the first imps that I purchased but it took me a long time to want to give it a try. When I first sniffed it I was suprised at how sweet it was, way sweeter than I had expected based on the description. Every once and a while, I would take it out and sniff it again but was never quite in the mood until today. When I first put it on, the sweetness was still there but a little more mellow than when in the vial. Upon drying, the vanilla starts to blend with the violets and develops into a nice soft floral, very girly, very feminine. The scent is almost as strong as it was when I applied it this morning so it has good staying power. I will defeintely make a note to buy a bottle of this in the future.

    Velvet

Velvet, simply put, is delicious. It the vial it is all chocolate but doesn't come across as a food-like smell, more the essence and depth of high quality melted cocoa. When I first put it on I can smell other things but they are on the fringe and I still get the rich chocolate scent. Drydown the sandalwood mingles with the myrrh and adds a layer that compliments the chocolate very well and creates a more complex perfume that is divine. Velvet lasts for hours on me and is one of my favorites. I originally ordered an imp of this scent and, after wearing it once or twice, I had to purchase a bottle - it's just that good.

    Kali

I just received Kali as an extra with my order and it is quite fabulous. In the vial I smell the honey and wine and just a whiff of chocolate, It's a warm, deep, rich scent - very yummy. It retains the same impression when I first apply it but after a few hours it dries down into honey-tinged frutiness. I can't smell the chocolate any longer but I still like it. I will defintely be buying a big bottle of this

    Shipping Update

I emailed Nella about an order I placed on 4/14 and she wrote back the next day to say that it had been processed and was supposed to have arrived last week. Still no package yet so if I don't hear anything soon, I'll send another email.

    New scent delay.

urg, I feel bad that I placed an order with CCNow as if I'm contributing to the problem but right now, that's the easiest way for me to order I do hope things will get better for you soon. I can't wait for the new scents!
  19. miss apple

    CCNow or PayPal

When you say your order was kicked back, did you get one of those emails from CCNow saying that your order had been cancelled? That is what happened to me and at this point, I do not want to even bother with CCNow if I can use PayPal.
  20. My boyfriend likes Snake Oil, Queen Mab, and Dana O'Shee on me....

    Dana O'Shee

This same thing happens to me as well! I love the scent - very light and sweet but it fades after about three hours. I will probably order a bigger bottle and use it with a heavier hand.
