  1. did that. i live in a tiny walkup with only 4 apartments and grilled everyone. i'm so upset right now. i really hope it turns up. =(
  2. I got my CnS last week, and I've been waiting and waiting and waiting. I finally checked the tracking number, and it said it was delivered on the 19th. I never got anything. I doubt highly that it was stolen since I usually have no problems with packages going missing in my building. I've already contacted the lab but I'm on the verge of tears now because it's my order of gone or about to be gone oils: 2x Mi-Go Brain Canister - 5ml 1 x Corazon - 5ml 1 x Chiroptera - 5ml 1 x Tulzscha - 5ml 1 x Shub-Niggurath - 5ml Anyone have any helpful advice? I already called my post office, but they were unhelpful as usual, insisting it was delivered. crap. thanks.
  3. DO they all have similar components to them? A problem I seem to get is that a bit of oil from each imp will get on my fingers as I open and close them. Then I'm whiffing a melange of scents from my finger + the oil in the imp! heh.

Scents for late summer into autumn

    Hexennacht (2005, 2016, 2019)

I'm calling this one Samhain Lite. In the bottle, it has that woodsy-not-quite-pine smell. Putting it on, the wafting characteristics of the patchouli-earthy-wood notes take over and surround me with an aura. It is very similar to Samhain—they could easily be sisters; I'm not getting the apple notes, but the earthy-smokey-incensey smell is almost exactly the same. Works out for me well, as Samhain is one of my staples!

    The Ides of March 2005

In the bottle, this smells very green, almost pine scented. It reminds me a bit of Skadi. As this goes on, the green smell kind of develops into a nice, fresh, herbal scent. The lemon isn't very outstanding, but kind of lurking down in the background. I definitely get a beautiful cardamom top note, which smells like a sharp, green version of cinnamon. And wonderful! The iris isn't very strong either. It's a note that I don't typically like very much. This is very lovely! This makes me want to go back to Rome to wander around the Forum for hours on end.

    Scherezade

There have been a lot of imps & 5mls that I've bought over the months, many to which I exclaimed LOVE!!! Every other oil must now stand to the side. I have found my holy grail of scents. This is just so utterly perfect for me, I cannot even fathom words in the English language that can properly describe the deep, musky, sweetness. Going on wet, it really does not compare to the drydown. Wet it does seem a bit cloying and perfumey, but it softens up really quickly and just becomes a swirly essence that surrounds you in a soft incense cloud. Picture Pigpen but without the dirt, only good smells. I even spilt about 85% of an imp on me and didn't run away to wash it off. I want everything to smell this good!

    The Lion

Another amber scent to try out! This didn't change much from wet through drydown. It is a very soft scent. I expected the amber to kind of pick up on the drydown, but it stays very soft and subtle. There is a spice note in here. I'm not quite convinced that it's cinnamon, but possibly cardamom. It also has something of an herbal sweetness to it. Overall, it is quite a lovely scent, but it's a little too soft for me. I like scents that are deep, dark, and have a lot of throw. If this were a bit stronger, I'd be all over a 5ml. Like a lot, but not love.

    Black Rose

On me it's predominantly rose, from wet through drydown. Initially it is almost pure rose. It takes a while for the other components to appear, but that is usually the case for me + amber or me + musks. They seem to need to warm up on my skin for a while before I can notice much of it. This is different from other rose scents the lab offers, I must say. Whereas Red Rose smells like a fresh red rose, Zombie smells like rose bushes + dirt, this I think reminds me of a yellow rose. I don't know why I get that impression, I just do. Maybe it's the sweetness of the amber and musk. They usually soften up blends, so this on me is very delicate and light. I think this is yet another winner! I don't know if I'll ever end up with a full bottle of this, but it may be something to consider if I ever tire of Zombi. =)

    Kabuki

This is one that I ordered a 5ml, untested, just because of the way this smelled in a gifted imp! Today I decided to actually try it out before the 5ml comes. In the bottle there is a sweeeeeet cherry-anise scent. Smells so devine. I really love cherry scents, so I am drooling. Putting it on, initially it is mostly cherry. The cherry does fade a bit after a while, not completely, but enough to let the anise come to the foreground for a bit. The anise does have a very slight licorice smell to it, but its mostly a soft, sweetness that complements the cherry very well. It actually reminds me more of fresh fennel bulbs rather than licorice candy. Fresh & sweet. YUM. After this has been on for a while, the red musk finally makes an appearance. The three components are all still recognizable and mingle into a perfectly sweet, yet slightly spiced, soft scent. Another huge winner for me.

    Golden Priapus

Though this is billed as a "men's blend," this is amazing on me, and I'm totally without Priapus. Honest. I love this! It's cousin to Snake Oil. The same vanilla, without all the resiny-insense notes, plus wood. Huh huh huh. Wood. How appropriate! This imp that I got as a bonus in one of my orders had a defective cap, so I used the opportunity to slather this one on. YUM. Strong vanilla. The pine/juniper notes are very evident, and mixed with the vanilla it is fairly unusual, interesting and provocative. I also took the opportunity to let my friend try this out. It led to the creation of a song of sorts called "Golden Dick," but I'll not get into that. As it dries, the predominant note remains vanilla. The woody (huh huh) notes are still there, but softened into a nice blend with the amber. UNGH. I want to hump it, but seeing as how it's an imp, that could be rather impractical and dangerous. This is love at first sniff. ANOTHER for the big bottle list (dammit)!

    Brisingamen

Let me first state that I love amber. I love smelling it, I love looking at it, I love wearing it in various forms. amber amber amber! In the bottle & wearing it, it was almost entirely amber scent that could be detected. It slightly reminded me of a blend of amber-sandalwood-honeysuckle that I made for myself ages ago. But I think that's almost all because of the... yes! amber. There is a soft spicyness that does appear, which must be the carnation, but overall it stays fairly resin-based. Not tremendously floral, but I'm sure they are there to soften it a bit. This is amazing. I couldn't stop smelling my wrists and tucking my head into my shirt to catch a big whiff. It is like plumes of scent roll off my skin as my body temperature reacts with the oil. LOVE. Definitely an A+ scent for any amber lovers out there. And Freyja lovers too!

    Yemayá

This is another bottle I received in a swap. I especially wanted to try this because of all the melon type comments in this thread. In the bottle & wet, it does bear some resemblence to a fruity melon type food product. I'm crossing my fingers that it will stay that way. As I wear it, it definitely becomes less melon and slighly more floral. I'm wondering if this actually has melon in it at all. Perhaps, but it may be something more akin to cucumber than actual fruity melon. It occurs to me that it reminds me so much of Lucky Chick lipbalm. It smells like melon, but in actuality it's a blend of mimosa, violet & jasmine. This smells like a dead ringer! Awesome, thinks I. I do have some reservations as the florals become more evident, because there was a nice fruity-floral that I had high hopes for in my past. I hope and wish and pray this doesn't become the cloying floral disaster on me that was Titiana. As it wears on, it does soften a bit, there is still a melon-esque note, but it's really in the background. The flowers stay soft & light and don't (thank god) become cloying and annoying, as some floral blends are wont to do. This is very lovely and I am happy that I have an entire 5mL bottle of it to wear to my heart's content!

    Oshún

I got this in a trade. Yay! Like the previous poster stated, it's very juicy-floral. I can definitely see a resemblance to Persephone, but to my nose it's a fraternal twin to Blood Rose. Unfortunately, I couldn't find my imp of BR to do a side-by-side comparison, but from memory, they are VERY close. The vial->wet->drydown doesn't really change at all. It stays a floral + wet & juicy & tangy fruit scent. Very luscious and mouth-watering. This also lasted ALL day with not one touchup. It's very potent, but not overwhelming either. I'm so glad to have recieved a bottle of this. I want to try all of the Twilight scents!

    Black Phoenix

I've been slacking on reviews lately, and my box of imps has been looking at me with sad puppy eyes. So, here we go! Black Phoenix. This is one I've only ever worn in combination with Snake Oil (which is an AMAZING duo, I might add). Today I am wearing this straight up. In the vial, it's very sweet. The predominant note is almond, in fact, I can't really smell anything beyond the almond extract type of scent. Putting it on wet, it starts to morph immediately. At first it turns into a spicy cola/Dr. Pepper type of smell. Then, a spicey note starts to appear (and the oil begins to burn a bit on my neck). It's pretty damn cinnamon at this stage, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was also a pepper of some sort in the mix. As this dries, it becomes almost floral but not quite. It more of a powdery & resiny type drydown. Like amber and soft sandalwood. The almond note is in the background, lending a slight sweetness. I so am in love with this. The imp has got me once again! Big bottle to be ordered!

    Spooky

Gosh! In the bottle it's very chocolately minty! I can detect a small tiny note of coconut, but I don't really get much else. Wet, the chocolate-mint takes off running. The chocolate has a slighly bitter note to it, like dark chocolate. The mint is also very cooling & slightly bitter too, very reminiscent to pennyroyal. I can get a bit of the coconut mingling in the background with the chocolate. Drying, and on and on, the chocolate & mint soften to a nice cool & rich smell, reminding me of Thin Mints. The coconut is a bit stronger now. I think this perfume is the bastard child of Thin Mints and Samoas! Still no buttery rum, which is fine with me, as I love it as it is. I am so glad I bought a metric assload for myself! This is devine.

    The smell of night

Frost Moon, if you can get your hands on a bottle.

    Aquatics

Some aquatic scents off the top of my head: Danube, Bayou, maybe Undertow (haven't sniffed this one yet personally), R'lyeh, and Water of Notre Dame.

What do bottles and labels look like?

Ah! Thank you very much. NP! And if you are interested, I believe there is a thread somewhere about where to buy them, if you'd like. It makes it a lot harder to spill a bottle with them on! But then again, I'm a slatherer, so I like to get a lot out of my bottles.

What do bottles and labels look like?

Most bottles don't come with them anymore. It's bascially a bit of plastic that fits over the opening of the 5ml (and presumably the 10mls as well) that only allows a drop or two of oil to escape at a time.

    Niflheim

This is one I've been really excited to try. I got a 5ml unsniffed, again, for the name! In the bottle it smells slightly floral and "murky." I can't put my finger on it. There is a bit of an aquatic note. Putting it on, wet, the floral really comes out. Similar to some the Lunacy oils... white pale blossoms, maybe lotus? Then something else creeps out. It smells like a cross between plastic and motor oil. Oh no. It can't be! Yes, it is. Are you sure? Yes, yes I am. It's VETIVER. Ughhhhh nooooooo. Nausea sets in. =x Letting it wear (because I'm stubborn and I want to make this work!)... The florals remain in the foreground. The vetiver is becoming more subtle and slightly spicy (almost like pepper!) and less like a wayward chemical (though I still HATE it and I know it's there!!@). There is an overall aquatic note that kind of works with the flowers in drowning out the vetiver. Unfortunately, while this isn't terrible on me, I don't know if I can get around the vertiver (it's not you, it's me). I'm not a huge fan of aquatics either, so this is giving me a mild headache. It does really quantify Niflheim very well though. I'll probably keep the bottle to sniff on occasionally, but I can't forsee myself wearing this often. Also, probably not the best scent choice when I'm already severely depressed.

    Yggdrasil

This is a 5ml I bought unsampled, purely for the name. I put on some after I showered last night, about an hour before I went to bed. I could still smell it when I woke up! In the bottle, it is hard to pick out a note. It smells sort of cedary and herbal. Putting it on, the cedary scent becomes rather piney, and slowly picks up a citrusy note. Juniper perhaps? There is also a slightly minty smell at this stage. I can't make out any specific note, and not for lack of trying. As this wears on after a few hours, the cedary note kind of dissapates into a generic "wood" smell. The herbal stuff in the background kind of becomes a sweet, dry, grassy scent. This blends together in a really beautiful way. Wow. I really want to know what went into this! This is one of my absolute new favourites. I am amazed! I also think 5ml is not going to be enough! I predict this one getting a lot of wear. This is also really gender neutral. This smells fantastic on me, but would be so drool-inducing on a guy!
  23. I second this. It's very dry woodsy-incense. Lovely.

    Skuld

This is the third Norn, Skuld : Being. She represents becoming, the future, the unseen. Opening the vial and putting this on, I'm struck by the fruity quality that erupts from the sweet notes of ylang ylang and honey. It is so sweet. Not sugary sweet, but just ... sweet. Sort of like a very high floral note, but not so cloying. I have to keep smelling it out of the bottle. It reminds me a bit of Mabon on first inhale, even though there really are no berries in here. This is one I feel I have to slather on to get it to waft off enough for my tastes. Then again, it could be the dry winter air. But it's a light scent, not as heavy as her sister Urd. As this wears, it remains sweet, but not so intense. The musks begin to emerge and mingle and temper the sweet. It is a soft blend of honey and musk. It sort of reminds me of Salomé now, but without the jasmine note. YAY. This is totally lovely. I reaaallllly like this one. I'm completely happy with all three Norn scents! Glad I grabbed all 3 in 5ml bottles. I actually should have gone for the 10mls!

    Verdandi

Verthandi is one of the three Norns. She is usually represented as the Present or "becoming:" "Urd is one called, Verthandi the next, and Skuld, the third. They mark on the wood, they ordain laws, they allot lives for human children, speaking their fates." Urd means "became," Verthandi "becoming," and Skuld, "shall be." Their names come from a very ancient Indo-European root meaning "to turn, to spin, to become. " Working through all three norn scents, today is Verdandi day! Smelling Verdandi out of the bottle the first time, I got WOW APPLES. The next time I smelled it, it was more floral. And there are no floral notes listed. Wacky. Wet and drydown, this is a clean smelling scent with an underlayer of fruit. It actually reminds me quite a bit of Frost Moon sans mint! The Black Amber isn't all that noticable to me (and I LOVE amber), but I think it contributes to the background "softness." The apple has a bit of tartness to it, but it's not pungent at all, just softly fruity. This is fairly light, I wish it was a little stronger. But it is really soft & nice & refreshing, and to me a very "in the moment" kind of scent. Another hit for me!
