Dr Who? Yes please! How much do you like lipbalm? Flavored or unflavored? What are your favorite brands and flavors? I love lipbalm! I *always* have a tube of lipbalm on me. Always. If I don't have one, I feel like I might perish from chapped lips. (If you've ever played the Infocom text adventure game "Leather Goddesses of Phobos", you might remember that you come across someone who PERISHED OF EXACTLY THIS!!!) ahem. I actually have a lot of lip balm in the "Bath, Body, Fragrance" section of my Amazon Wishlist. Normally I don't like balms that are not in a tube, but I would be interested in trying Clove Cigarette, Dead Sexy, and/or Absinthe from Tokyomilk Dark Lip Elixirs. My favorite EVER lip balm is Better Botanicals Ayurvedic lip balm in Cardamom or Rose & Mint. They used to carry this brand at my local co-op but stopped for some reason. I love Haunt and Bunny Butt Apothecary. Favorite flavors? I usually tend to buy things with descriptions such as Honey, Lavender, Rose, Cardamom, Clove, Chai, Bubble Gum, etc. I like vanilla and candy type flavors too. I don't especially gravitate towards fruits. No chocolate or caramel please, my boyfriend hates chocolate fragranced bath & body products. *sniffle* Please note that I loathe and detest "My Lip Stuff". PLEASE for all that is un/holy don't buy anything for me from them. I bought from them once and I ended up giving or throwing away everything. Do you like and wear lipgloss? If yes, what colours? Not really -- it usually feels too sticky and tacky if it's a "gloss". Once in a while I'll get something because it's sparkly or shimmery, usually light colors. I'm not a super "natural" color person, so I'll do blue, purple, black, white, etc. Some times I like natural-ish plums. I tend to like my pink/red things with a blue tone. I loathe orange, yellow, and brown in any form (clothes, makeup, yarn, shoes, furniture, cars, etc.) I've had my eye on the "More Synth" Glitter Lipstick from evilshades.com but it doesn't look like their website is working right now. For those of you whose wishlists contain only BPALs, are there any other perfume companies you like or would like to try out? I especially want to try more Carnival Wax but it's pretty spendy. I've tried a lot of other companies. I do NOT like Possets. I'm kind of meh about Violette Market and Haus of Gloi. I love Arcana and Villainess! I have some wishlists for other companies on my SW Help -- there is a link in my signature. I'm sure there are some scattered in my Amazon list too. Your feelings on Adagio teas: If you've never had anything from them, would you be open to trying them? If you HAVE had them and like them, name some favorites blends. And if you had them and dislike them, can you name a few *other* tea companies you're into? I've had Adagio... and I just wasn't impressed. I used to do the circular tea swap so I've tried quite a few of their blends. And ever since they had a huge problem with bugs in their tea? Their name just makes me cringe. *shudder* I work for a coffee & tea company and since I have talked to our tea buyers & tea experts it's hard not to be snobby about tea - but on the other hand I'll drink lower grade inexpensive, like the Tazo Awake or Twining's Irish Breakfast, English Breakfast, or Prince of Wales. Good solid black teas, boring, but I do drink them everyday. I also have a bunch of Republic of Tea blends - jasmine, queen of hearts (black rose), ginger peach, some winter fruit blends, chocolate orange, chocolate strawberry (bought it before I realized it was a rooibos but it's not actually that bad), etc. I used to really like them but the last couple of tins I've bought haven't been really great so I don't know if the quality has gone down in the past 15 years since I started buying them or what. Now what I'd REALLY like? French tea!! Mariage Frères!!! I really love their Butterscotch tea in an almost orgasmic fashion. It smells just like Lush's Butterball, seriously. It's SO good with some cream and honey. I have some, but because it is SO good and not available locally (that I'm aware of), I only drink it for very special occasions. I'd really like to try their Cardamome, Anis, Black Orchid, Parsifal, and Phenix. There are links for all of these under my Amazon "edibles" wishlist. The other french tea company I like is Dammann Frères. I used to have a bunch of teas linked from Amazon but it looks like they recently changed their URL, so all of those are invalid now. I love black tea with rose, vanilla, butterscotch, chocolate, caramel, licorice/anise, cardamom, etc. (um, not all together.) I'll go through their website and add some more things to amazon when I have a chance. I have a friend in Germany that I used to send coffee to and she would send me back tea. She sent me an Anise tea that I adore and love, so that's another on my hoard list. Another lower price tea that I love is the "Yogi" Egyptian Licorice Mint. Nom! I also adore Aveda's "Tea". Another good low cost tea I like is the plain "Good Earth" tea (the original blend WITH caffiene) as well as their Vanilla Chai. Starbucks just bought Teavana so I'll probably be trying some more of their tea now that I'll get a discount. I used to have a have bag of Lapsang Souchong but I haven't been able to find it. I also love me some smoky Russian Caravan. Mostly I like black, flavored black, and smoked black. And I do like tissanes sometimes: mint blends, especially when mixed with licorice. Lavender, basil, rose - all good flavors. And black based chai; I think the Tazo chai is actually one of my favorites because it has a lot of anise in it. Although if we're going to extend to boxed tea, then Oregon Chai is my favorite. Their Chai Nog is pretty good too, but obviously that's seasonal. Please don't send me any rooibos or white tea. Sometimes I like flavored green (coconout pouchong!) but I really do prefer black. I'm very sad that our awesome local tea shop, The Teacup, closed down. They imported Dammann Frères and had my favorite Russian Caravan. weep. They were selling online but their facebook has MANY people whining about how they haven't got their order, so I haven't ordered from them online. What about coffee? Would you like to get coffee send to you? Whole bean or ground? What are some varieties and/or flavors you enjoy? I actually don't drink a lot of coffee at home. When I do, I usually use my Verismo. The only other coffee makers in the house right now are my french press and my Toddy -- I need another espresso machine. I do have a grinder, so whole beans are best. I wouldn't say no to someone's absolute favorite-est coffee that they wanted to share but I don't want anything in large amounts - I have a 1 cup, 5 cup, and 8 cup french press but I'd probably make it for the 1 cup. (If making anything with my Toddy I have to use a full pound, but Toddy is a cold process which takes 12 hours and I usually use coffees that are designed specifically for iced.) I do like flavored coffee too; when I was in New York on business there was this little coffee shop across from my hotel that had brewed flavored coffee every morning. I really liked their chocolate orange and irish cream. I also like cinnamon hazelnut. And when I lived in Toronto, Second Cup always had a bunch of flavored coffee made. Some people think I'm a heathen for liking flavored coffee (yes, I work with people who are MUCH snobbier about coffee/tea than I am.) Who is your favourite female of all time? I'm not a huge Yankee Candle fan, but I DO love their patchouli halloween scent (Witches Brew.) I also love chocolate covered caramels, especially with sea salt. I love "sea foam" - one my favorite candy bars is the Cadbury Crunchie (imported from the UK) and I also love their Curly Wurly. I drink usually one cup of coffee (usually 1 shot with steamed milk) and then I drink tea the rest of the day (usually hot but sometimes iced.) If you were put in a room with 100 random other people the same age and sex as you, from your country, in what way do you think you would be different from the average? I have almost nothing in common with people who are the same age & sex as me. I'm a computer geek; I was programming before I was 12 and was a Unix Sys Admin in my 20's. I started calling BBS's when I was 12. I'm not into makeup, clothes, books geared towards women, a lot of jewelry, or most things geared towards women. The exception would be knitting and perfume. Perhaps horses/horseshowing and dogs/agility although most women I know prefer cats. I don't think babies are cute and I don't like children much. I hate it when people use babies/kids as their online images. I'd much rather look at ferrets, rats, snakes, dogs, weeping angels or pretty much anything. (Or anything else up currently?) I'm not super into Haus of Gloi -- I ordered from them once and they sent me the wrong thing. They resent the wrong thing again. And again. And again. Which reading level do you prefer to read in YA or Adult? Or even both? I do mostly adult but there are a lot of YA books I like. The Rick Riordan, JK Rowling, etc. What colors/style is your kitchen decor? And do you entertain in your home? Useful? Our walls are cranberry but I have all kinds of black and purple things. I only do chrome, nothing brass/copper/gold toned. Right now we do NOT entertain; R inherited the house from his dad and it needs to updated in the worst possible way. I'd probably do more traveling and exploration in the UK and Europe. And attempt to figure out time travel and teleportation. Is there any thing - an object, a donation on your behalf, some research done for you, whatever - that your witch could do about this that you would like? And if you can't think of a present, would you rather she didn't either and confined themselves to things you are already involved in? I'm all about donations to pit bull rescues. We do charity events with our monster truck any time we can afford it. I'd love to have research done on getting hats embroidered with our logo and finding cool things to market for our monster truck, better prices on t-shirts (4 color logo), etc. Would you be interested in someone writing out for your a favourite recipe, or finding or devising one which they think you'd like? If so, please provide your favourite ingredients, info on how you like to cook/store and use food, and any intolerances - unless all of these are in your questionnaire, or you don't like the idea. I guess for other witches this might include something like a knitting pattern - not my thing but would you like that? Or indeed would you like a picture created for you (if so what kind) or a story written? I'm pretty good at finding my own recipes and patterns. The only recipe I haven't been to find is one that I remember I used to make when I was a kid. It was called "Crazy cake" and you mixed all of the ingredients in the cake pan. I would love to have pictures, stories, etc. Picture wise, I love my dogs insanely, I miss my DEW ferrets (dark eyed white), I love Friesian horses. They are still in the process of phasing out CCNow AFAIK? I stopped using CCNow completely after I heard that people might get charged an "international service fee" from their banks. (This was in an email sent out by the lab on 2/25 letting us know that CCNOW was sold on January 1st to another company and is now based internationally.) You can pay for both trading post and lab orders with PayPal. From the BPAL FAQ: How do I order through Paypal? I've been waffling on Eldrich Dark, but that label! I think my decision is made! My job here is done! (also, it smells fantastic!!)

Today I added a few photos the BPAL Fiends group pool on flickr. BPTP yules, a couple Turn of the Screw, Whirling Wind Moon, etc.

The 2012 versions are Blue Moon, Blauer Moon, and Luna Azul. The 2009 versions have the year on them (Beth's is the Moon & a Flying Pig, Brian's is the Flying Pig and one of the lab's Goblins.) 2007 has the year on it and a Blue Moon coming over the Horizon. 2004 has the year on it as well and no picture.

The Miskatonic Valley scents look pretty much exactly like the previous versions with the green band on top and bottom: The general Yules look just like the Halloweenies but with different colors if I am remembering correctly. favorite candles, companies and/or candle scents? I used to sell PartyLite and I still really like the Colonial Candles of Cape Cod. They burn sooo nicely and all the way down to a nub. Their votives rock because they liquify completely and when they're done, I just have to take out the little metal wick holder and wipe it out. No scraping out wax or headaches. I also really love Big Dipper Waxworks, they have some AMAZING scents in their pure beeswax candles. REALLY like the Midsummers Night and Witches Brew Yankee candles. I'd love some of the Witches Brew car jars or a big pillar or jar candle. I have some candles on my etsy wish list but I don't really know what quality they are. I'm willing to try them!! I'm also a chandler so I do pour my own candles once in a while when I have time. I prefer votives, jar, or pillar candles. No dinner candles or tealights please; I'm stocked up on those!! I'm pretty much a general candle whore and will accept most top shelf type candles. Don't really want any dollar or grocery store type candles, I'm sorry that I'm such a picky biotch. I can also use ibooks, play books, etc. I think the formats are the most important - I can use .pdf, .mobi, .epub, and .prc. I have never ever purchased ebooks. There are SO MANY free ones! I actually prefer a hard copy (I have quite a huge book collection with many hard back first edition signed books.) Used books are fine, though! And I would love to read Meilin's books. I really wish that when you purchased the hard copy of a book that you had the option to get the digital book for free; like they do with Blu-Ray. Half the time you get the dvd AND digital copy too. Stupid book companies and their proprietary formats! It's like the war of VHS/BETA revisted... AGAIN. Anyway, that is why I don't purchase them. Plus it's just not as comfortable to hold my ipad; the edges dig in and hurt my hands since I have the heavier first gen. I have no plans to get a kindle or other ereader. Holy Moly, I just haven't edited my flickr gallery FOR EVER. Life has just been getting busier and busier (and let's not mention the pants!) for the past couple of years. I have photos of most of my bottle labels on flickr and encourage people to post their photos to the bpal flickr pool. On my actual flickr pages I have all of my bpal separated in groups (yules, lupercalia, carnivale, etc.) so it's a little easier to find the label you want (plus you can search for the tags.)

A lot of the 2007 bottles had 2 different labels. A "scroll" label and a picture label. I have quite a few of them in my bpal flickr gallery. Here's an example of the "Mirror Mirror" set from 2007 - two of bottles had the pictures and one is just the scroll label:

This one starts out smelling a bit like lemony tea while wet. After the dry down it morphs to a sister of Black Lace but without as much throw. It disappears pretty fast on my skin.

September 8th From the Weenie Update....what are you most wanting to try? I've tried a bunch already at will call -- hoping there will be even more at this next will call in September. I actually think I'm most excited about the two Forum Only scents -- Sprinklecake and Halloween: Las Vegas. Who's into nail polish? What colors/brands? Oval or round are both ok. No tins please. Favorite flavors? - In the Better Botanicals I like the Rose Mint, Ginger, or Cardamom. Otherwise I generally like honey, rose, chai, vanilla, jasmine, and I can deal with mint. Lime might be fun. Flavors to avoid? - Chocolate in general. If I were to let you loose with $20 in a drug store (CVS, Walgreens, etc - basically a pharmacy with an attached mini-mart), what would you get? - I rarely set foot in such places since I generally get things in bulk at Costco or shop at Co-ops. If I do stop by it's usually because I NEED cough drops or cold medicine, feminine products (although I usually make the boy go buy them for me, srsly!), anti-perspirant,a card for someone, or something that might be on sale such as Fair Scone mix or Pike Place Market tea. (Our Bartells always has interesting food things on sale. My favorite is the Pacific Creamy Tomato Soup that comes in a box.) I like Pad Thai just fine but my favorite noodle dish is Phat Si Io (also, Pad See Ew or Pad Si Ew) -- I freaking love the huge soft hand shaved noodles that most (good) places use. I also flove (vegetarian) ethiopian food. My favorite place ever is a little hole in the wall in Denver - they had the BEST ethiopian coffe and coffee ritual. I had a favorite place in Dallas too, I can only remember the name because it seems to be super common for Ethiopian places -- Queen of Sheba. (The Queen of Sheba in Seattle is not a place I will go again. ptooie.) So what say you? IS an "unexpected" visit/in-person witching OK? I would say no. Sometimes it's hard for me to get myself into a frame of mind in which I am able to be social with other people. And my house sucks, I don't really ever want anyone to see it unless I have lots of time to clean first. It takes me a long time to let my walls down enough to be comfortable with someone unless they get me drunk, in which case all bets are off. (Or if I have a security blanket, sometimes in human form, with me.) I guess I am sometimes really good at pretending that I don't have social anxiety but... I do. Usually Will Call is a safe bet if you want to meet me, although I am not usually being social, I am usually being a minion and fetching things. I bought some 2004-2005 bpal oils from a seller on another forum. She said they were "full". When I got them, they were all different levels. Blue Moon was both full to the shoulder. Lughnasadh was about 3/4th full. A few others were only 3/4th full. When I asked her about it, she got REALLY defensive, like personal attack defensive. She swore up and down that they came that way. *shrug* I once received a bottle of Glowing Vulva directly from the Lab that was less than half full. They replaced it. Mistakes DO happen!

Weeping Branches Moon was mostly plum on me. It smelled fabulous!

I love Rose scents. Love love love. This one is no exception! It definitely is a milky rose but there is something else with it that is almost fruity. Perhaps cherry or almond. Luckily that goes away pretty fast and this dries down to a lovely but strong rose fragrance!
