    Honey and Beeswax scents

I can not explain how much you should try O, just do it! Some others you might like are Hellcat, Bien Loin D'Ici and maybe Blood Kiss. Alice doesn't smell strongly of beeswax or honey to me, but it's very pretty and sweet. Lady Una has a very strong honey-ish twinge too.

    O

The scent of sexual obsession, slavery to sensual pleasure, and the undercurrent of innocence defiled utterly. Amber and honey with a touch of vanilla. So I've been revisiting some of my favorites lately and I've been disturbed as to how many oils I love yet have never reviewed. O is one of my top 5 general catologue scents and I wore it again for New Year's eve. In the imp: Wow, this is beautiful. Sticky sweet honey amber yum. Wet on skin: This is one of the sexiest Bpal's there is, and it is so deserving of it's title. It's naughty and innocent at the same time, bewitching and seductive and full of the promise of lush pleasure. Amber is the note I love best in any perfume and it is mixed so pleasantly with the vanilla and honey to make it sweet, sexy and delicious. Drydown: It just keeps getting sexier, richer and deeper. Sort of muskier too. It reminds me of candlelight and carnality. Overall: This is sensational. Everyone should try O, it's like Bpal blasphemy if you don't! Multiple bottle-worthy. I get compliments every time I wear it and blush when I tell people the name, because they all know what it stands for.

    Hellcat

Oh this is amazing... Another lucky frimp from the lab. This is going to get some serious use and a bottle will be necessary. In the imp: Super sweet pastry-like deliciousness. Almond and honey are two of my favorite notes and boy are they in this one! Wet on skin: It's weird: my eyes actually got really wide and my heart started racing faster with this one. It's kinda like O but sweeter. Glorious almond love. The rum mixes perfectly with this and it doesn't end up smelling boozy on me, just a little naughty. It is so friggin sexy! I feel really hot wearing it. Drydown: The sweetness fades a bit and the scent gets softer and richer. Golden honey is the most noticeable scent. This is unbelievably gorgeous and sensual. It may just be my new favorite general catologue scent. Overall: LOVE with a passion! Bottle please!

    Grand Guignol

This was a frimp from the lab and I'm so excited about it. In the imp: Sweet apricot with a naughty twist. Wet on skin: The same scent from the imp is now loving my skin. I love the smell of apricots, this is so perfect. There is definitely something there that is making it slightly darker, but it's not strong and it certainly lets the apricot take the starring role here. Drydown: Still the same but a little bit softer and sweeter. I'm in love! Overall: A very true apricot oil with a hint of darkness. Which is exactly what I was hoping it would be.

    Aeval

To start, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. It's on of my favorites and I first tried it over a year ago! In the imp: fresh, sweet, kind of has a watery feel to it. Not watered-down or sea-like, I mean more like fresh pond lilies, that kind of sweetness. Very feminine. Wet on skin: The sweet pea is the strongest note here, but the musk is noticeable as well. Gorgeous, sweet and fresh. Intoxicating, reminds me of the spring and how it smells when it rains and the scent of all the new flowers is heavy on the air. Drydown: Stays pretty true throughout, fades ever so slightly. The sweet pretty floral sweet pea scent reminds me of vacation, while the musk keeps it sexyand very feminine. Exquisitely sensual. Overall: Like I stated above, it's a favorite of mine. When I'm in the mood for something fresh I pick this up. It's a very "me" kinda floral. I love the tale that is the inspiration for it as well.

    Scent for Halloween?

I have a whole superstitious thing about New Year's Eve, so I want to wear something that would represent what I would like more of in the coming year. I therefore will be another one wearing "O" tonight.

    Okiya Atmosphere Spray

This is absolutely gorgeous, I could not have hoped for more in an atmosphere spray. Fresh breezy flowers give off a just-right sweetness. When you spray it, it doesn't have that " I just sprayed something to cover up a smell" feel that most non-BPTP sprays have. It blends very naturally into the environment it is sprayed in, and just smells clean, fresh and pretty. I want this as a perfume it smells so lovely. Perfect all around!

    Saloon #10 Atmospheric Spray

Got a sample with my last order. It's very strongly leather and tobacco, which are not really my thing. My boyfriend said it smells kind of like a cross between a bar and a furniture store. Great as a sensory experience, not so great for my living room.

    Midnight on the Midway (2006)

In the bottle: Slightly sharp, resiny, lush floral. Strange, fascinatingly weird. Wet on skin: Sharp frankincense type smell, with flowers in the background. There's something that is teasing me with the threat of jasmine, but it's not overwhelming like most jasmine blends. I think the flowers are just getting stronger. Drydown: Kind of flat. There is a sweet floral that is trying to peek out, but is being smothered by something resiny. I'm not getting a lot of sweetness, but it feels like it wants to be sweet. I do seem to be getting the soapy floral thing though. If it were a color it would be lilac. Overall: I don't get the sweetness that everyone else seems to get from this. It is sweet for an incense blend, but I was expecting more. I will try it again when it ages to see if it's any sweeter.

Lick It Like You Mean It

I have to laugh becuse I've been calling this "Lick it one more time" whenever I refer to it, and I think that was last year's. Oh well, here is my review: In the bottle: Pure Peppermint yum. Wet on skin: Sugary candy canes. There's really not much more I can say because that is what it is. Perfectly! Drydown: It gets a little creamier but it's still peppermint candy. Kinda vanilla-ish. I love it! Overall: It's a bit strange smelling like a candy cane, but I adore it. It makes me so happy! One of my favorite Yules this year. I can also see this being very refreshing in the summer, when it's too hot for anything heavy. So glad I bought a bottle.

    Jacob's Ladder

In the bottle: Sweet amber and dark, golden incense. Wet on skin: This reminds me a lot of church incense, which I wan't expecting. It's got a slightly golden metallic thing to it, and I'm not sure where that's coming from. The amber is peeking out from behind, giving a faint sweetness. It knows I've been looking forward to it, so it's struggling to say hi. More masculine than I was expecting, but masculine in a good way, so it's still very unisex. Drydown: The amber is more prominent, but it's not going the golden, sweet, sultry way I was hoping. There's a little sweetness, but not the amount I usually get with amber blends. It's still sorta sexy in a weird, religious artifact kinda way. It still reminds me a lot of church, the mysterious feel of a holy place. Overall: It's a wonderful, sensuous scent, but I think I psyched myself up for it as a good amber blend, and it's probably the least ambery of the amber scents I've tried. I like the mysterious feel of it, but won't wear it as often as some of the other Yules this year.

    Snake Charmer

In the bottle: A darker, deeper snake oil with coconut! Sexy weird sweetness! Wet on skin: Wow! This is incredible! It's like the perfect snake oil variation of my dreams! Like a slightly less diabolical Mme. Moriarty. Musky and coconutty, exotic and sexy. The coconut gives it a dark, lush, beachy night feel. Drydown: I am so thankful that this was resurrected! Still so sexy and exotic. The vanilla comes forward a bit more now. Overall: Definitely a favorite, I may need more! Mysterious, sensual, magical and nostalgic of dancing in a dark club all night. Perfect for me!

    Candy Phoenix

In the bottle: Sugary fruit, but more fruity than sugary. Sparkly, juicy red berries. Wet on skin: Oh man. This touches my skin and I get a huge whiff of fruity body odor. It's a very sharp fruity musk. It settles down after a few minutes and becomes less offensive, the pomegranate and currant being the strongest notes. It smells a bit medicinal though, like some kind of a berry scented ointment. Not really what I was hoping for. Drydown: It smells like the remains of a pomegrante/berry body splash and some Juicy Fruit gum. Yeah, definitely Juicy Fruit gum. I never really liked that. Overall: I'm kinda dissapointed. I love Sugar Skull and Midway, and was hoping this would be somewhere close to one of those, but it's not. I'm really surprised that this isn't working for me, it had such promise! Perhaps pomegrantate is not a good note for me? I think this is the first blend I've tried with it. Despite my not enjoying this, I can still see many people enjoying it. If you're a fan of super-fruity, girly, bright scents, try it out. I guess I just need something a little richer and sexier. I think Wood Phoenix is actually closer to what I was hoping Candy Phoenix would be, so now I'm just even more excited about that bottle.

    Wood Phoenix

In the bottle: This is surprisingly sugary and rich. The woods aren't the strongest note for me. I think the fig and walnut stand out most. Wet: Wow, this is delicious and spicy! Still get a very sugary feel from this, but it's extemely smooth and well-blended. It's quite sexy yet reminds me of goofing off in the woods at night with friends when I was younger. Perhaps because it's got a very slight boozy feel, and the sweetness gives it a playful edge while the scent itself is still dark. It rivals any department store perfume I've come across in years. Perfectly rich and beautifully blended. Drydown: It stays the same, but the sugary feel goes away into a general sweet veil. It's not foody at all, more like a sweet oriental-type perfume. It's just simply goregeous and I implore everyone to seek this out! Overall: Love it! I was expecting more dry woods and was pleasantly surprised with the rich, sweet, ultra-sexy scent in this bottle.

    Bewitched

In the imp: Fresh picked tart berry juice. Wet on skin: Vine-ripened juicy berries with a rich deep background. Something slightly herbal and tart lurking there too. Kinda mystical and mysterious. Somehow reminds me of all the tales of King Arthur and Camelot. I keep sniffing my wrist. I'm addicted! Drydown: The berries get softer and richer and darker. Like a sexy vixen eating juicy blackberries and she's smirking seductively while they stain her lips. It's got a musky sweetness to it. I can see this being one that a lot of people could enjoy. Very alluring. Overall: This is the kind of fruity potion I can love. I'm not that into fruity scents, but this has an innocent/seductive quality that I want to just drown in! Deep and sexy. Love!

    Scherezade

In the imp: rich, creamy, dark and sexy musk. Wet on skin: Very earthy deep red musk. Extremely strong at first, maybe even too strong. Exotic and very sensual. Drydown: Still strong red musk, but now it's not too strong, it's just perfect. My boyfriend would hate this, but I love it, so I just won't wear it around him. Mystical and dark and spicy. It's got a hot gypsy fortuneteller feel, which is right up my alley. A bit of sweetness comes through in the drydown phase too. Overall: This is so me. Makes me feel so sexy and sensual wearing it. A perfect exotic temptress perfume, and I will be looking to get more of this soon.

    Any Amouage fans?

What about The Blaphemere Reliquary? It has notes of rose and myrrh, I think it has frankincense in there too, and reviews say it smells very nicely incensey.
  18. My two recommendations for light, subtle scents would be Katharina and Shanghai. Katharina is innocent and fruity, while Shanghai is a clean, sweet citrus. Katharina is my favorite of the two as I don't prefer citrus, but I could see how a lot of people could love Shanghai.

    Dark Delicacies

I decided to pick up a bottle of this with my last Dark delicacies order, and am so glad I did! In the bottle: I get a very beautiful white floral. The orchid is the strongest note to me. It reminds me of Marae, which is a favorite of mine. Wet on skin: Still a beautiful white floral, but I do get a dose of patchouli giving it a little more earthy feel. There is a note here that is similar to the Masque, which perhaps is the myrtle? It's very rich and sensual. Right up my alley. Drydown: This fades kind of quickly into a soft white ghost. It reminds me of the ethereal look of movie-ghosts. Or something a dark fairy would wear. It's romantic in the traditional sense. I think it's beautiful, but wish it would hav lasted longer. Overall: Beautiful and ethereal, but doesn't stick around as long as I would like. Oh, well. I guess I'll just have to reapply. eta: I think this would make a great summer/spring/warm weather scent.

Nag Champa scent in a BPAL blend?

Ooh! I have a bottle of Midnight on the Midway coming to me, I can't wait to smell it! Both Gaueko and Urd have nag champa listed among the notes, but the one I've always felt has the strongest nag champa scent is Sherezade. It's got that strong exotic incensey feel to it. And it's damn kick your ass sexy.

Invasion of the Flesh-Eating Reindeer from Uranus

Oh this is so perfect. It's my favorite of the new pulp horror scents. In the bottle: A delicious, slightly more subdued Gingerbread Poppet. Wet on skin: Less spicy than GC, but still has that delish baked goods scent. It's a bit creamier too. I love it and can not stop sniffin my wrist. Drydown: Remember those fruitcake imps from last year? This is that. It mimics the drydown from fruitcake, but less bright and sparkly. Like fruitcake mixed with fresh-baked cookies. I still can not stop sniffing my wrist. It's sweet enough that my bf will like it too. He doesn't normally like too boozy scents, but this isn't really boozy like I thought it might be. It's sweet and yummy and sexy at the same time. You could totally seduce someone wearing this. Overall: Love!! My new favorite winter scent. Perfect and cozy and delicious and sexy.

    Crimson Christmas

Wow! This is a really difficult one to describe. It's full of win though! In the bottle: A cold feel, not quite mint but icy, with a tart " sour red fruit" kind of twist. Wet on skin: Super cold and snowy and icy. Mentholicious. I feel like it's helping me breathe, but that might be all in my head. Definitely very cold. It feels "blue" now too, a pale, icy, cool blue. I don't really get any smoke, but I'm not sure exactly what smoke smells like. I've never tried anything like this. SGA comes close with the cold feel, but not at all with the scent. Drydown: This is when it gets really good. Creamy and clean smelling. It smells a bit soap-like, but before you get all like, "Ew, It goes soapy?", I mean soap-like in a luxurious creamy, feminine scented soap that makes you feel all pampered. Almost floral, there may be a bit of vetiver mixed in as well, as it has a typical vetiver dry-down haziness. Maybe that's what smoke is? The haziness? It reminds me of some kind of blue flower whose name escapes me. There's a slight hint of candy too. I love this so much, It's so unique! Overall: I wasn't sure about this one because I don't usually go for things with notes like "gore-splattered snow", but this has taught me that things such as that can smell pretty darn beautiful and not quite as horrifying as they may seem. I love this one, my boyfriend likes it a whole bunch and I will enjoy wearing it all year long.

    Spawn of the She-Demon

The bottle is absolutely adorable! In the bottle: The first sniff gives me musk and fruit. It's quite pleasant and juicy. Wet on skin: This is actually a lot lighter than I thought it would be. Red and black musks tend to be very heavy on me. This has the same dark and sexy feel, but it's fresher and lighter. It's more juicy than musky. I think it makes sense though- the she-demon herself would be all red and black musk, but her spawn would have a lil bit of fruity sweetness. Love it! Drydown:This is just lovely. The juiciness stays strong throughout, and it gets deeper and richer as it dries. I'm in love. I get a "halo" effect from this as well. If i sniff my wrist, it's mostly sweetened musk, but if I sniff the air around me it's fruity and pretty. It's got great throw. Overall: A perfect scent! I was expecting something muskier and heavier and was pleasantly surprised to get something a little more sparkly. I could wear this anywhere.
  24. blacklacestatic

    Omen

In the imp:Very herbal. I can see why so many people compare it to gin. Wet on skin: This immediately goes tart and sharp on me. Still very earthy. I can smell the juniper, but it's not very strong. None of the notes really jump out and howl at me, they are all very well blended. It starts to get smoother pretty quickly. It has a nice earthy bohemian feel. Drydown: This could be a great unisex scent. It's not too masculine, yet not very feminine. It gets sweeter, softer and even a bit creamier with time. It's very nice. Overall: I like it as an outdoorsy kind of scent. I like it. It's not amazing, but it's quite nice. I will definitely wear it again.
  25. blacklacestatic

    Tombstone

In the imp: Very woodsy, with an underlying sweetness. Wet on skin: Here, the cedar is the strongest note, which worries me as I don't care for cedar. Still very strong woods, but the vanilla can be detected. Drydown: This gets more and more strongly vanilla as time passes. It reminds me a great deal of Love's Philosophy. It starts to get a little plasticky as it dries though. Not terrible, but it's there. Plastic vanilla. Overall: I think that I'll stick with Love's Philosophy when I want an over-the-top creamy vanilla. It's not bad, it's just certainly not my favorite of vanilla scents.
