  1. Wet: I'm getting a swirl of wine/chocolate/tobacco/flowers. neat!

dry: a sweet and beautiful floral. I can't pick out exactly what I'm smelling (lotus? osmanthus? rose?). very light, with low amount of throw.

unfortunately, my skin eats this up, and it disappears quickly.

  2. I got this as a frimp. I would never have tried it on my own, but I'm really liking it. Tweedledee is a tart and juicy fruit scent. I've never had kumquat, but the combo of that with the orange blossom is delicious. The white pepper is very light, but detectable in the background.

    not much throw, but yummy!

  3. When I first opened the bottle all I smelled was diapers (or bandaids?). ick! Shaking the bottle seemed to mix it well enough, and then it smelled a lot better. huh.

On my skin it blossoms into juicy tropical fruit with some light floral. I don't know which floral is prominent, but I love it. While it is very beautiful, I was hoping for a bit more (vanilla? musk? where are you? :P ) I suppose I'd be more excited about it, except that it reminds me of some calgon body spray (um, hawaiian ginger? I forget what it's called). Not a bad thing, but a touch generic.

  4. This is really different, and unique. And I have no idea what half the compents smell like, so bear with me.

Wet: I can smell the lemony beeswax right off, but then I get a sharp, spicy, sickly sweet smell on top of that. This has some bad moments where it reminds me of some industrial cleaner.

Dry: It calms down, but is still heavy into the resins and herbs, sharp and golden. Not my thing, but definitely interesting.

  5. I suspect my imp might have been quite old, or from a weak batch. The scent seems to be fading.

Wet: Barely anything. Slightly sweet, with a hint of spice, but not much that I can make out.

Dry: still a bit sweet. . .. but only if I sniff really, really hard.

  6. Shocking, horrific, fierce, savage, sensationalized, luminous and hazy: black currant, Bulgarian lavender and white musk with a dollop of thick resin and a voltaic charge of ozone notes.

Wet: at first I could only smell ozone. like, sharp, strong, straight ozone. Uh oh. . . .not my favorite scent. . .
dry: after 15 min, it calms down and the lavender comes out, with a bit of currant in the background.

overall, I'm not big on ozone, but once this calms down a bit, it's a rather nice blend. Not something I want more of right away, but one for the "test again later" pile

  7. I wanted to like this so, so much, but it came out smelling like baby powder (?!). Wet, it smells overwhelmingly sweet, like sweet tarts. Dry the tartness fades and it smells exactly like. . . .baby powder. phooey. :P

ETA: I retested and I got no baby powder! yay! this mellows out into a tart, spicy, sweet vanilla.

  8. wet: the most delicious pineapple floral candy smell. Like, pineapple lifesavers (those are the white ones, right?). :P but where's the coconut?

dry: pineapple disappears, and ylang-ylang and neroli stick around, along with a hint of hibiscus. The dry down is pretty too, but I really love the sugary smell when this is wet. I'm not sure, but I think I'm mainly smelling ylang-ylang after a while. Not really wowing me at this point.

  9. All I'm smelling in this is the rum. There's some fruitiness from the pineapple, but it's very faint. While the rum is nice and foody, I wish the pineapple would stick around more. What it really reminds me of is Red Lantern, though it's more a refreshing-caramel scent than a smokey-caramel one.

  10. This is very clean, fresh and perfume-y smelling. I think it might be the musk that makes me think of expensive department store perfume. It reminds me a bit of the fresh green tea in Kumiho, but it's more complex and well-blended (all the floral/fruit/ozone? I can't pick them out). I'm not sure I feel sophisticated enough to pull off wearing 51, but it is certainly gorgeous. The more I wear it, the more I'm thinking I need a bottle.

  11. In imp: very foody, like buttery baked goods. It worried me, because while I like the smell of baking (yummy!), it's not really what I want to smell like.

wet: still baked goods, but peach also. Like peach cobbler.

dry: after a bit, this turns into a lovely, sweet peach with only a hint of the buttery smell from before. And it lasts a long time. I kept smelling soft, delicious peach all day. Definitely a keeper.

  12. wet: very almondy, almost creamy, - with a hint of coconut. i think I can smell fig in the background

dry: I was hoping the fig would stick around more, but all I'm getting is coconut. It's not bad, but a bit too much like suntan lotion. I might break this out in the summer sometime.

ETA: I think my nose is confused. After trying this again, I do get a strong, foody fig. To me, this has a similar smell to Black Pearl, so maybe that's why I was thinking "coconut!".

  13. I love this! It's sweet and fruity, and spicy like cinnamon (only softer). I can smell the amber behind the peppery-ness, but I only get a hint of floral (from the passionflower? or is that what makes it fruity?). For lack of better description, it's PINK and happy-making.

  14. In the bottle: sweet, sweet vanilla icing.

on skin: mellows out into an unfortunate artificial vanilla scent. :P not unpleasant, but not what I want to smell like either.

ETA: on second try, I'm getting the wintergreen lifesavers smell. Is that the saffron? I seem to be amping it like crazy. I actually like the mint better than the vanilla I was getting before, but it's a bit strong. I wonder if aging will tone it down any.

  15. This is a very soft, light scent. It does smell a bit sweet like vanilla, but I'm also getting cold stone or minerals. Unfortunately something in it is giving me a headache, like the smell of the cement stuff (or fluoride?) at the dentists office. weird. :P

  16. Wet: sharp, green (?) scent.

Dry: Green tea. Or at least the same smell as the green tea candle I had years ago. I don't know what peony smells like, so I can't identify it very well. I think there's a hint of floral, but overall it's very light and clean.

  17. Wet: Peppery. I've never tried anything with pepper, but that is definitely it. huh.

Dry: Tea! I get a creamy, honey-sweet tea scent. It reminds me a bit of Dorian, but less musky.

After a while, the milk and honey goes away and I'm left with a nice clean tea scent.

I didn't think it was anything special at first, but this is definitely growing on me.
