  1. Dark. . . with a floral backdrop. I smell opopponax, and either lily or gardenia (or orchid? something floral. . . ). I was hoping for more currant, but I get no fruit. I think "soft" and "luminous" are good words for this. Very pretty and elegant.

  2. This was a frimp, so I had no idea of the description when I first sniffed it. Also, it shattered in transit and got all over, so that was why it was so STRONG.

Wet: very cold- is that mint? or pine? It does remind me of Lines Written about the Euganean Hills. The mint is almost as strong as toothpaste, but it never quite crosses the line. It's fresh smelling.

Dry: the florals are coming out more, and I'm not getting mint so much as mint-violet-floral. It's very pretty, but I don't like wearing mint. Maybe it would work as a room scent?

  3. Um, I'm totally confused. In the bottle I smell berries - with a bit of pie filling. Yummy! On my skin it smells fresh and green. Where are the berries in my Berry Moon? or the orange blossom? :(

ETA: I will say that 15 min. later it smells like musk, with a fresh clean note. no berries.

  4. When I put this on, I got that ONE note from snake oil and snake charmer that just DOES NOT like me. Is that the vanilla amber? If so, I've finally identified what it is that makes snake oil go bad for me. I don't get a lot of orange blossom from this.

  5. Wet: black musk, dark and perfumey. I also get greenery and a bit of spice (or sandalwood) in the background. I can't really identify the notes in this, it's so well blended.

Dry: after awhile, I get more gardenia and jasmine. It's still very dark, perfumey and sinister smelling. This is the perfume of a confident woman.

  6. Inspired by and created for my beloved Tedwin: my eternal, beautiful, wicked Dorian Gray. Refined, elegant, and lovely, with a noble bearing and seemingly gentle air. This blend is an artful deception: a sweet gilded blossom lying over a twisted and corrupted core. A Victorian fougere with three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea.

wet, it's lemony and sweet vanilla

dry, it's a musky vanilla. It's far too candy-sweet for me, or too powdery, or too musky, or too much something. I don't get any lemon, though.

  7. Wet, this is a bright blast of gardenia.

Dry, it gets darker. I get a hint of the orange blossom, lavender and alcohol. I'm having trouble identifying anything else - it's well blended.

The floral is a bit too overpowering for me, but I like the complexity and depth.

  8. In the imp this smells sweet. I don't know which of the notes that would be. On my skin, it's very herbal. I smell the frankincense and galangal, which smell a bit dusty to me. There's some sweetness hanging around in the back, and it makes me think of rosemary for some reason. Not because there's any in this blend, but because it's sweet + herbs.

  9. Wet: orange hits me in the face, but then fades a bit. I can smell smoke under that.

dry: wax, candles and a hint of orange. It's pretty much a spot on candle scent with sweet orange (or honey?). It doesn't have a lot of throw. I like it, but I wish the orange wasn't turning funky on my skin. :(

ETA: the smoke and funky orange smell disappears after an hour, and now I'm getting a mellow beeswax smell. nice, and comforting.

  10. In the bottle, this smells like the most delicious vanilla cream, with fruits in the background. That foodiness disappears almost immediately.

wet, the sweet pea and carnation really come out. I'm not getting anything that's sharp or citrus-like, just a mellow, sweet fruit smell.

dry, I can smell more florals, vanilla and tonka, with a hint of some kind of fruit every so often. I'm glad the fruit is well blended with the other notes and not sticking out.

I'm quite fond of fruity-floral perfumes, so I absolutely love this. It's very youthful and happy smelling.

(The bottle art is too cute! there's a row of alice in wonderland characters across the top of the label. awesome!)

  11. I'm not a fan of snake oil, and that's what this smells like at first. It smells like exotic spices, but that dies down a bit once it hits my skin. I think I'm just smelling the resins and incense and red musk. Sadly, red musk makes things smell like rubber on my skin (unless it's aged). I would love it if I got more coconut, vanilla or black plum, but I'm not getting anything sweet from this.

After 20 min. it's less overpowering. Not bad, but I'm not wild about it. I'll keep it for aging and hope it gets better.

ETA: this is for the resurrected '08 version.

  12. Wet: Peaches, a bit of gardenia and neroli, and something dusty in the background. The peach is very juicy.

Dry: I get some vanilla and honey, but the peach is fading, and leaving behind gardenia. Too bad, as the peach was so good. This is more a floral than a fruity perfume.

  13. Wet: a lot of pine and herbs. Reminds me of . . . oh, was it the East? Or Bess? Maybe it's thyme or rosemary. Very green, with musk to back it up.

Dry: much of the same, but there's a "snow" note too, something ozone-y. Very fresh, almost minty. A very good representation of snow and alpine flora.

ETA: the musk comes out really strong after a while. It's definitely wild musk.

  14. Wet: light pine scent. I can get something snow-like as well (at least, something slightly ozone and refreshing).

Dry: This is a touch sweet, and I swear I get something citrusy as well. It seems to get more sugary as it dries, and the pine fades more. It does smell a bit like something faintly perfumey (is that musk?), mixed with fresh snow and pine. Nice.
