    BPAL for nausea

The only scent I can wear no matter how ill I feel, is Shub-Niggurath. Ginger is good for you. ps. Oops sorry, I didnt realize ginger was disliked. I *only* like the ginger in Shub -none of the other ginger blends I've tried worked. You just never know...

    Honeysuckle blends

I smell a lot of honeysuckle in my bottle of Chimera: The fiery, volatile scent of cinnamon, thickened by myrrh, honeysuckle, and copal. ps. It doesn't list it in the notes, but after a couple of years of aging, it's heavy on the vanilla as well.

    Rosewood, anyone?

I heartily recommend Fenris Wolf: Fenris Wolf: Diabolus. The raw, untamable power of chaos. Rosewood, amber, red musk and a dribble of red sandalwood.

    Old books... Books, paper, libraries

I think a lot of people forget about Penny Dreadful, which has a gorgeous musty old book note to it... Penny Dreadful Also called Gallows Literature. A dime novel rife with melodrama, horror, madness and cruelty; a ten cent analogy of vice and virtue in conflict. Soft perfume evocative of noir heroines over rich red grave loam.

I found the notes for it online...

The Night Hag Visiting The Lapland Witches

I must have weird skin chemistry. This smells like Rumplestilzchen on my skin. I mean I was kinda hoping it would be a scent like Rumplestilzchen (outdoors in the woods), I just didn't think it would be LIKE Rumplestilzchen. I'll have to test them both side by side one of these days to see the differences.

Who do I email with questions? BPAL/BPTP contact info

On the TAL site, it says the email for questions is twilight [AT] twilightalchemylab [DOT] com. *edit* I just realized I misunderstood your question. Sorry about that.

    Unfruity frangipani Scents

White Phoenix is so seriously awesome. I strongly recommend it too.

    Cohen v. California

It's gotta be the honey and saffron that ruined CvC for me, because all the other notes are usually huge winners. I first applied it and went "YES! This is awesome!" and then within moments it quickly turned for the worse. I'm gonna put my money on the honey note being the problem here as I got the 'body funk' from it that I often get from Beth's honey blends. So sad. If honey isn't a problem for you.. then give this a whirl. Otherwise stay far away.

    Atlas

Okay, so let me tell you this. I didn't pick this one out right away. I love love love vetiver, but I did NOT like TKO (mallow) and absolutely hated Miskatonic University (coffee). However reviews have kept turning up positive for Atlas, so at the last minute I decided to take a chance on it. And I'm so glad I did! When wet, Atlas really reminded me of what Black Lace smelled like when I first got it fresh from the lab. It's got a bit of harshness to it too that I remembered from BL. But just as BL aged that part away so fine, so too I think this one will as well. At the 15-30 minutes mark, I can see how similar this is to Antikythera Mechanism. I disliked Antikythera Mechanism on the drydown (it amped way too much for me), but Atlas seems okay here. After about an hour, Atlas really mellowed out to a soft creamy dark vanilla musk (ala Morocco style). I'm not crazy about how it smells up close to my wrist, but a very delicious aroma tendril keeps drifting up to my nose making me quite like this. I rarely buy bottles anymore, but I'm going with this one. I have a hunch this will be worth it down the road. ps. Yes definitely related to Osiris v4 as well. But Osiris is more masculine and this is gender neutral.

    Blood Kiss

This is another blend I've recently rediscovered it from the bottom of my stash bin. It has really aged well. Blood Kiss is aptly named. When I wear it, it feels like there's a force surrounding me, lulling me into a heady trance. Like being hypnotized by a vampire I guess. One that plans to bite you. I'm totally going to wear this the next time I head out for a night of dancing at my local goth club.

    Chimera

My aged imp was gorgeously myrrh and cinnamon, so I'd ordered a full bottle. And the bottle I'd got seems to be heavy on the vanilla. Way too cinnamon bun foody for me. There were several times I was going to swap it away but I'd finally discovered a use for it: layering it with Lucy Kissed (I stumbled upon this combo when I went to the grocery store the day I was testing these -the girl at the register complimented me on how good I smelled).

    Dee

Well I've tried and tried to come up with a way to review of this scent while keeping the wording of it PG-13. So instead I'll just allude to a few things and let the reader figure out the rest. 1) It's a very attracting scent. 2) It's unisex, but would probably suit a man more than a woman. 3) I don't care if you're a guy or gal.. if you wear this around me.. I may want to make out with you. Enough said. You've been warned.

    Dana O'Shee

Dana O'Shee was one of my very first bpals I ever tried back in the fall/winter of 2007. I'd loved the smell of it but couldn't wear it on me so I put it in the bathroom where it had slowly leaked out in the cardboard box over the back of the johnny, subtle-y scenting my bathroom for months. I hadn't gotten around to replacing it until just recently. The moment I opened the vial, I was immediately brought back to 2007 again and it woke in me those such fond memories of my first swaps and my gaining new friendships in the wonderful bpal community. So many memories packed into one single scent. For me, Dana O'shee IS bpal. But what does it smell like? I think it smells like Lush's Snowcake. Creamy almond oatmeal. Some benzoin and honey. Maybe the tiniest touch of cherry. It also reminds me a little bit of Snow White, but without the snow note that SW has.

    La Petite Mort

La Petite Mort frustrates me. It's just SOOOO chemistry finicky. I don't know if it because of shark week or changes in diet, but it keeps flipping back and forth between being... a) OMG really truly one of the most sensual sexiest skin-but-better scents I have ever wore. -or- b ) Toilet puck. Seriously. I own Ylang-ylang SN, so I know it's not that that's causing it. So what gives?

    Hunger

I love to dilute aged Hunger in lots of coconut oil and then wear it as an all over body moisturizer. It leaves the faintest hint of dark smoky vanilla floral on your skin that is so sexy.

    Brisingamen

I can't remember if I've reviewed this before... When I first got my imp of Brisingamen years ago, I wasn't crazy about it. Due to the prominent amber note, it was very powdery on me at first. After an hour or so that faded away and I could begin to see potential in this blend after some aging. Instead of swapping it away, I hung onto it for a few years and then last summer I rediscovered it and voila! it had indeed aged GORGEOUSLY. I've since acquired a 3yr old bottle from another forumite that has just started to become ready to wear now. I tell ya, if a cobalt bottle ever comes my way, you can be sure that I'll try to snap it up. ps. I found Hod to be very similar to Brisingamen, but without the apple blossom note.

    Iris and Orris scents

Dance of Death and King Cobra are awesome You may also like Brown Jenkin and Smoky Moon as well.

    Incensy Florals

I immediately thought of Liz: A light, feminine vanilla floral perfume and a swirl of smoke and leather. It was all floral incense on me. Too bad it's discontinued, but Midnight on the Midway was also gorgeous.
  21. If you're looking for the scent of real matcha, then you'll be sadly disappointed that Bpal hasn't come out with a blend that smells like that yet. (I've been waiting years for it.) If you don't mind the lemony type green tea note, then the 4 strongest are: Milk Chocolate Matcha Green Tea Ganache Truffle Shanghai Embalming Fluid Phantasm I found the Embalming Fluid and Phantasm to be too lemony for my taste, but the other two are just divine.

    EPIC BPAL Spreadsheet Thread

Please please do maintain the spreadsheet. Even though the stash app is great, it's very very hard for those of us who have tried an extensively large amount of scents (1000+) to sift through pages and pages of scents after after adding them into the stash app (believe me I've tried). Spreadsheet is wayyy easier.

    Bravery, Courage, Confidence, Intimidation, Power

Hmm.. what about one (or more) of the TAL oils, like Brass Balls for example.

    Bravery, Courage, Confidence, Intimidation, Power

I could be of better help (I've tried over 1000 bpals and love 'warrior woman' type blends) if I had an idea of the type of environment you'd be wearing this. Is this for work, home, a night out, etc? And what's your styles of dress (goth, earthy, punk, relaxed, austere, dress suits, etc)?

    Crucible of Courage

Crucible of Courage Scent: I found it nearly identical to Lionheart, except with white rose instead of heliotrope. Very soothing - not loud or sour. Uses: In ritual, for candle annointing or worn directly on skin. I'm surprised this blend isn't talked about more often. It's not just useful for fearful situations. I've also found it VERY effective in helping with Anxiety as well. More effective for me than Lionheart was. I've been using it for this since 2007. I dab a little bit on my chakra points whenever I need it. A really beautiful scent too. [update]: My new bottle came heavy on the lavender which is barely present in my old bottle. I'll have to age the bottle for quite awhile to see if the lavender backs down.
