    Bluebeard

Mmm, wet on my skin this is just like Saturnalia, but once it dries it the lavender and white musk come out making the edgy vetiver so much softer. It's almost like there's a hint of sweet vanilla in there somewhere. Lovely!

    Tweedledum

I like fig scents, but I don't like fruity ones so this really isn't doing it for me. It smells just like Carnal, which I'm pretty on the fence about. I'll keep it around to retry during the summer though.

    Phantasm

In the imp and wet on my skin this is nothing but LEMON!!!, but within a half hour it dries down to barely nothing. I can smell a hint of lemon and a hint of when I can only assume is the green tea since it smells all leafy. I wasn't going to try it all since I'm not much of a lemon fan, but at least it did something interesting. Not a keeper though.

    Mechanical Phoenix

I was just about to write ozone off as a killer note for me, but it's not all that bad in this blend. I get the "man cologne" description that mostly everyone else cited, but when this dries on me it turns in to a green and herbal scent with the tiniest hint of the fused wires, brass cogs and so forth. On my husband it's sexy as hell, but fades so quickly that I have to get very close to him to enjoy it. Naturally, he doesn't mind at all.

    Ravenous

This almost smells like a vanilla-blackcurrant tart or something, that is until it turns to PLASTIC. I really don't get it. Patchouli is usually so great on me. It grounds notes that I'd never be able to wear (like in Depraved). I think I'll be staying away from the red stuff from now on though.

    Aquarius 2007

I seem to be the only one who smells toothpaste when they open this. I'm sure it's the anise. I wanted to love my sign's oil so much, but when the toothpaste turns to pomegranatey toothpaste with hints of cat pee you know it's time for a swap. I don't know how this stuff is working on everyone else. My skin is obviously not Aquarius enough.

    Thalassa, the Galapagos Mermaid

I love the idea of aquatic scents but all I get from Thalassa is AIR FRESHENER. My grandmother used to have an ocean themed bathroom and this smells just like one of the thousand or so air fresheners she kept stashed in there. I'm bummed about this one, but I'm still keeping an open mind as far as aquatics are concerned.

    Laudanum

This just smells like root beer on me. I get the Old Spice smell when I put it on my husband. I have nothing against smelling like root beer, but it doesn't turn me on that much either.

    Cathode

I wanted so much to like this scent, but all I get from it is a mint gum smell in the imp and a hospital disinfectant smell on me. I wanted to be negatively charged.

    Kataniya, the Clockwork Woman

After trying this one I realized that ozone is not ever going to work on me. It's the note that makes me hate most non-BPAL perfumes. Kataniya definitely has a metallic undertone though. It sort of reminds me of that weird oily smell you sometimes get when you're in an elevator. It's not enough to make me want to keep my decant though.

    Nocturne

An olfactory serenede. A somber, contemplative scent -- dreamy and subdued. Deepest violet touched with lilac and tuberose. I knew when I put this one on last night that it reminded me of something from Lush. It definitely has a fizzy, powdery smell of violets (and some other flowers) to it. I love violets scents, so I was enjoying sniffing it as I drifted off to sleep.

    Priala, the Human Phoenix (2006)

I wanted to like Priala so much. Smoke and cinnamon sound so great together. However, I'm getting something really bitter off of this. I thought it was just because I was ragingly premenstrual when I tried it for the first time, but the bitterness comes out even when I sniff the imp. What a letdown!

    Wulric, the Wolfman (2006)

Ooh, I've been wearing this for several days in a row now and I am loving the chocolate-vanilla softness that comes through. When I put it on my husband it just smelled like straight up men's cologne with a hint of cocoa, but on me the whole thing just softens. My favorite thing about it is that the chocolate and vanilla isn't in your face like most food based blends, but that they're just the front notes in a really well made perfume blend. Wulric is so warm, sweet, and great for dreary winter days! I don't get any of the other single notes mentioned in the description, but there's a blend of several things loitering in the background. The musk might be the most noticable of them all.

    Jailbait

In the imp this smelled exactly like cherry cough syrup to me, so it never made it to my hand. I'm intrigued that others get cinammon from it, though not enough to actually try it out myself...

When you need something comforting or cheering

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Angeronalia. It's the perfect scent for post snowstorm winter days. Also, R'Lyeh is my go to scent for rainy summer days. It must be all the citrus.

    Pain

Wow, I can't believe how many people are not into this blend. Pain has become my favorite bedtime imp and lately I've found myself wishing for a 5ml when I feel like slathering myself in sleep. The minty/earthiness (pennyroyal?) and lavender is so calming.

    La Befana

La Befana reminds me a lot of Lolita Lempicka perfume, though I'm not entirely sure why. I get the violets, a smoky charcoal scent, and the sweets, but I also feel like there's something elegant and very grown up beyond all the straight up sweetness of other food based scents. La Befana reminds me of purple tulle. I don't know why. This scent is so complex and intriguing. I had to order a 5ml. I think it will be just as lovely and fitting in February as it will in December.

    Ultraviolet

This is a light, cold violet scent. It's a lot more feminine than Saturnalia and lasts for a shorter time. I like to put Ultraviolet on in the morning and then boost it with Saturnalia at night. I love the little touch of mint. It mixes so well with the violets.

    Lightning

This is a very cool scent. I guess that's the ozone? I agree with those who say it smells a lot like commercial perfume, and it's not my thing at all. I prefer an aquatic with a little kick to it like R'Lyeh rather than something this simple and straightforward.

    The Shivering Boy

I wish I liked this as much as some of my other favorite pine blends (Nocnitsa, Black Forest, The Snow Storm) but it's missing something. I get the frozen grapes, but I'm not impressed with them. I wish this one was stronger and had something more interesting about it.

    Sybaris

Mmm, my first thought what I put this on was that it smelled like nag champa. I love violet blends of all kinds, and this is a really sexy one. I wish the cloves would come out on me though. That's part of the reason why I sought this one out.

    Angeronalia

On first whiff of this I didn't think I'd like this, but I felt like trying it out today anyway. What I'm getting is a nice clean scent, almost soapy, but not in an unpleasant way. It's more like freshly washed skin. I'm thinking that this is the olive blossom, mainly because it smells a lot like my favorite olive oil soap. After reading the notes in Angeronalia though, I'm completely shocked that this is working on me at all. Gardenia? Orange & lemongrass? By all rights I should smell like an old lady or Kool-Aid. I'm pleasantly surprised. This blend has totally brightened my grey day.

    Depraved

Wow, I love this. It smells liks dusty apricots (I'm starting to think all patchouli turns to dust on me) but I like it anyway. I'm so glad the fruit didn't go powdery like orange, lemon and grape seems to do on me. I can't wait to see what this is like in the hotter months. It may be just the kind of light, yet edgy scent that I'm looking for!
  24. lainevierge

    Black Forest

This is nice, like almost every other pine-based scent I put on. This one has a sweet, almost vanilla afterthought to it though. Maybe it's the black musk? It makes it softer than scents like Nocnitsa & The Snow Storm.
  25. lainevierge

    The Snow Storm

This reminds me a lot of Nocnitsa, only with a gingerbready berry sort of undertone to it. I'm slowly learning that pine is something that generally works on me, but it's certainly not something I want to smell like year round. I used up my imp in my oil burner. It made everything smell like Christmas.
