  1. all the notes I love are in this scent: sandalwood, amber, musk, rose and bergamot, wich is on top of my list. and this scent is absolutely perfect for me!!!!

my imp is one year old and it is only getting better. wonderful mix of citrus, roses and notes close to skin = pure love!

I can picture myself as one sexy bellydancer trying to impress prince of persia when I'm wearing this. :D

  2. this is oh so wrong for me. bad bad jasmine, and it usually smells great on me. bad lavander also, the whole thing smells like some lux soap, but still a soap. :(

I don't have much luck with ars moriendi scents, everything I've tried went soapy on me. :(

  3. On my skin, smells like somebody is cleaning wood and brass with lemony cleanser, strong and sharp. I can smell pollished metal more than I can smell cedar, and I dont really mind, I think I like it. :)

But right now, I don't detect much amber, maybe this imp is too fresh, three weeks since it came out of the lab, so I'll have to wait on that for a month at least.

  4. A reformulation and modernization of a true Classical Greek perfume, myrrhine: voluptuous myrrh, golden honey, red wine, and sweet flowers.

Straight from the imp, all honey and wine. Same on the skin, but sweeter and myrrh comes out to play.

I don't do well with wine scents but this one is exception, I love it!!! It's more honey then wine on me so that's a plus. And the ultimate test was taking it with me to Athens last fall, it was just perfect!!! ;)

  5. This is woody smokey dirty scent with just a touch of something sweet. And pachouli in this is great, not sharp, but in some way mellow. And something in this reminds me of Mandrake.

I think I love this as a scent, but I'll have to think about wearing it as a perfume.

  6. I got this imp from a friend as a gift, it's pretty old so I guess it's well blended now.

On me, this is pretty much jasmine, musk and sandalwood. I detect some almond but not that much, I would call this a nice jasmine/musk scent. Interesting and very seductive, I like it, but I think I won't keep it, because I like other jasmine scents better.

  7. This kind of scent is why I don't like ordinary perfumes that much. They can never produce an alchocol based commercial perfume as perfect as this.

I don't have the right words for how much I love this scent, and it just gets better and better. It's SO, but fresh and spicy SO at the same time, with mellow vanila. One second I get SO, the next something fresh and mossy, a bit dirty, and then everything in beautifly mixed in one scent with perfect balance. Lasts for hours and hours and it makes me very happy!!!

I'm seriosly thinking about hoarding this one, and it would be my first "must hoard" scent, it is that good!!! <3 <3 <3

  8. I'm not getting any rum in this, just salty sea water and wet grass. No wood either, maybe a bit of that perfume in drydown, because the grassy salty scent becomes a bit sweet.

I like it wet on the skin, reminds me of Iron Maiden song Rime of the ancient mariner (every time I listen to it I can smell the sea), but the drydown is not for me. Sweet salty aquatic gets little soapy after 2-3 hours, too bad, in it's wet stage the scent is perfect!!!

    swap pile.

  9. Started off very nice, woody and herby sharp with something soft and sweet in the background. After one hour became fruity and flowery but in a sour and cloying way, a bit soapy. I can't even detect any note, it just smells bad on me. :( probably violet and lilac gone wrong. Swap pile.

  10. This is one of the my favourite bpal scents that is close to skin. Mostly amber and very soft musky vanila, with sandalwood and a bit of cedar. My bottle is 6 months old and amber and sandalwood age pretty good.

Soft, warm, feminine, lasts for ages!!! Subtle and sexy at the same time, I love it!!!

  11. from the imp, peach and some spice. wet on skin, a bit green, fresh peach, I like it and I don't usualy like fruity scents, amber is doing it's magic. Dry, sweet peach and amber, everything fresh and green is gone, but I still like it because I love amber.

golden and sweet, but a bit too sweet for me, perfect for someone who likes girly & sweet scents but with an ambery twist.

edit: this is very old imp, so I'm guessing that amber is more prominent in it than it is when it's fresh.

  12. ... Her ofrenda is thick with honey and herbs of love, passion and desire.

from the imp, smells like rakia, alcoholic drink made in my country, but this one smells like the apricot one.

wet on skin, honey and lots of fruits (mostly sour, cherry maybe?), no herbs. and for the next hour or so it stays sour honey and then fruit goes away, all I'm left with is honey. now it's too cloying and I don't think I can pass the sour stage every time I put it on me, so off to swap pile.

  13. my nose is not that good in pinpointing flower scents, so I have no idea what this smells like on me, the best I can do is: very strong perfumy floral scent, a bit sweet and I detect something in the background that's not floral but faintly, so I can't pinpoint that either. It just becomes too strong for too long and too flowery on me to like it.

But on my friends skin, I get all these notes that you all are talking about, even jasmine and cinnamon. So I think this is really the wrong scent for my skin.

eta: after almost 3 months I gave it another go, whoaaaa jasmine!!! at first I thought I can smell lilac and in the next five minutes everything goes jasmine!!!

maybe some other florals, maybe there are some spices but jasmine won't give them the chance to make their presence. too strong jasmine for me, swap pile.

  14. wet and dry, this is mostly jasmine on me and I love jasmine. in the dry stage I get some frankincense (like it) and ylang ylang (don't like it that much), and I think this ylang ylang and the rest of the flower notes are ruining it for me. not getting any cardamom or sandalwood wich is strange for my skin. it's ok, but not that special jasmine scent, Nyx is the jasmine scent for me. :)

  15. this was a generous frimp from a forumite. :P

and I'm glad I had a chance to try it before ordering a bottle, because this is not working out for me. It starts like a too sweet SO with frankincense, and at this stage I like it somehow. :D

but after five minutes turns to plastic/glue/something sour. don't know why, this should work on my skin. and SO is nowhere to be found to help this scent. I think this is about sugar cane, I've tried some other scents with this note and every one of them went totaly wrong on me.

I'll hold on to the imp for a while, maybe my skin chemistry will change, if not... :D

  16. I love this one!!! mint & bergamot & snake oil, I couldn't ask for anything more than this. mint is strong at the begining, but later goes into the background and so does bergamot, and SO comes out with a bit of tea note.

not very long lasting, but I don't care, this is just perfect!!! :P

  17. this is a work of genious!!! SO with pure cocoa powder, nothing sweet about this scent, just spicy and bitter chocolaty, pure heaven!!! :P

and it has a nice throw, and my boyfriend said that the whole house smells of it when I put it on!!!

also, my bottle is all black, with just few mm of clear oil when it's settled, the rest of the bottle is thick and black. :D

  18. this one is sooo complex to me! every few minutes this scent changes until it finally settles down like a smokey cherry. and I can smell every single note that is on the list, and the red wine note here is nice to me. :P

very nice, but I'm worried a bit by a note that reminds me of cigare filters, so I'll have to think about this one...

  19. in the imp and wet on skin, cake and something sharp, almod does that sometimes to my skin, smells like burnt nutts.

after a while, cake smell dissapears, then fruitiness and something creamy comes out, and after few more minutes everything turns to coconut, with a bit of fig, almond, honey and a hint of sandalwood.

I don't like foodie scents, but this is a bit differend and I kind of like it, maybe because of the sandalwood. still, not for me.
