    The Best Mint Blends

True! Ultraviolet is very minty vut it is an extremely weird scent combo too, at least to my nose.

    The Best Mint Blends

I second Nine Misteries (though you get lets of different scents with the mint too, as the name implies ) and Shattered. I haven't tried that many mint scents yet and I'm still waiting for my Spooky, but Shattered is one of my faves. It's really light and refreshing and not just pure mint.

    Swimmer's Scent?

I see your Pele and raise you one Zephyr.

    Are bpal blends all-natural?

I've never heard of attars before, but I agree that there must be some kind of carrier oil in the blends. Apart from lavender and tea tree oil, EO are way to strong to be directly applied to the skin. And since Beth is using 'bouquets' to recreate certain scnets, I think pure EO would be much too potent for such a subtle undertaking.

    Baobhan Sith

Ooh this is nice! The grapefruit is immediately there. Slightly bitter and I can really picture the white flesh of the fruit. It softens quickly though and becomes more soft and floral. This will be the apple blossom I presume, though it doesn't smell of apples at all. The white tea makes it all soft and powdery and I could have sworn there is white musk in this too. Overall a very gentle scent and definitely white. This will be gorgeous in summer, when all you want is feeling cool and clean. It is a very pure and clean scent for sure.

    Swimmer's Scent?

I'm going to recommend Baobhan Sith as well, it's very fresh and gentle and would probably be even strong enough to cover up the chlorine. Good luck!

    Swimmer's Scent?

I think Embalming Fluid, Black Pearl, Jolly Roger and especially Siren would all work rather well. I have been known to wear Snake Oil before going swimming and not even the chlorine could kill the scent.

    'Second Skin' Scents

I would suggest Dracul Black Pearl Siren Velvet and the ultimate Vanilla Bean.

    I need more Cherry!

There damn well better not be any cherry in Centzon Totochtin. I'm expecting a bottle of it this week. If it smells like cherry I will cry. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I seem to be the only one on whom Blood smells like cherries. But if you don't like it, PM me!

    Pomegranate

I have to disagree: This is a very true pomegranate to my nose. Maybe a bit sweeter and more candy-like than the original fruit, but the heart of the scent is spot on! Bright, fresh and juicy and so much nicer than Swank.

    Snake Oil

Quoting myself from the Snake Oil tread:

    Black Cherry

In the vial and first on my skin, this was nothing but nail polish remover. Really sharp and acrid. It mellowed down slightly, but was still way too artificial for me. I usually adore cherry scents and I really wanted to like this, but it just didn't agree with my chemistry. *sobs*

    Judgement

This is a very complex scent, which morphed on me a lot. At first it's quite medicinal, but in a warm, sweet sense like sticky cogh syrup. Then I get a lot of different woody notes, but also rather warm than green. I think I can detect sweet sandalwood and dry myrrh. This is a very warm and reassuring scent and also quite masculine, almost fatherly if that makes sense? It's fairly strong too, so it'll be interesting to see what this is going to smell like in a few hours.
  14. I'm going to suggest Snake Oil here. Vanilla is always really calming on me, but doesn't make me sleepy. It just helps me to relax. Now the spices and intensity of Snake Oil definitely keep me more alert and focused, without being too distracting. Snake oil also makes me feel confident, which is always good when studying or taking exams.

    I need more Cherry!

Noooo! Centzon Totochtin is so beautiful and the truest cherry scent I've found so far. Which is extremely weird, since there is no cherry in there. Black Phoenix was pure cherry/almond on me when first applied and then dried to weird floral/fruity/spicy scent combo. Complex indeed...

    Are bpal blends all-natural?

Excuse if I am just stating the obvious here, but if Beth's blends have a concentration of 85% - 100% doesn't that already state that not all of them are pure essential oils?!

    Scherezade

My nose or my skin chemistry must be all weird, because this smells almost exactly like Kabuki to me! Maybe a bit more floral, but I definitely get the spicy cherry scent that I get with Kabuki. I expected this to be a lot more oriental and exotic, but it's still nice. I can't wait to finally try Morocco, if it is similar to this one. I have a tarted imp though, so no idea if the aging made any difference?

    Siren

This is my ultimate sexy scent! Very seductive with a sinister aura. The different notes are blended so well that it's hard to make them out. Wet I get an almost herby scent, like throat lozenges with lemon and mint. But there is also something aquatic lurking in the background. Overall it smells very beach like: saltwater, sand and a hint of coconut. The jasmine makes this even more exotic. Love it!
  19. My vote is for Jack (very gourmand, fruit and warm spices) Centzon Totochtin (beautiful cherry chocolate scent and very complex) Nosferatu (again fruity and a lot of depth to it) The Red Queen (foody/woody and quite misterious) Cerberus (spicy cocoa, but in a dark sinister way, not sweet of foody) Snake Oil (it doesn't morph a lot on me, but I still find it very gourmand and complex) Sadly I never got to try Samhain or Dia de los Muertos.

    I need more Cherry!

Centzon Totochtin is extremely cherry and slightly almondy. It's a beautiful scent and going to be my first 10ml.

    Sudha Segara

My skin just seems to eat up milk scents. Out of the vial and at first on my skin all I could smell was lemon. It lightens up a bit and the ginger becomes really strong to the point where this is all I can smell. No creamy, milky goodness. Like Alice, this is a bit softer when I have my period. Weird, huh?

    Peach, Peach Blossom, Apricot, Nectarines

March Hare definitely and Jack was really fruity on me too, but with a warm background note that gave a lovely base. You can still get the single note Apricot from The Imphouse: http://www.theimphouse.com
  23. I second the Dana O'Shee and raise you one Embalming Fluid. It's a really light and refreshing scent.

    Machu Picchu

Weird scent. I find it really difficult to pick out any notes. When first applied it's sharp and bitter with a citrus note, almost like insect repellent. When the fruits finally showed, they were very subtle and almost powdery. Not bright and juicy. They are kept in check by the florals mostly. There is something extremely familiar about this scent, but I just can't put my finger on it! Is there white musk in this? It's very soothing and comforting somehow, like someone takes you into their arms and strokes your head after you've had a nightmare. This is a mother's scent. Not really me I'm afraid, though it's a very pretty and light floral.
  25. Gluttony and Sugar Skull couldn't be more different to me. Gluttony was like rancid butter on me and really made me nauseous. Sugar Skull smells exactly like maple syrup! I agree about Snow White and Dana O'Shee, though SW turned a bit plastic and artificial on me. Love Dana O'Shee though and the initial impression of both is very similar.
